This place does not have up front pricing! They will tell you one thing and then add more to it. They also add things that “need” to be fixed. If you’re a woman don’t waste your time here. They speak to you as if you don’t know a thing. Ronnie wrote prices on the back of the paper and called everything a converter 1284 convertor the next 500 converter 180 converter and then with all that points at total amount of over 2000 dollars and says all together with this with the converter will bring you to this price. I followed what the was saying but because I was a woman he spoke to me as if I wasn’t worth the time of an actual explanation and I would be satisfied if he just pointed and said converter. Also the vehicle was quoted to be done in 3 business days they had it for a week now and just started today. Stating we are not the only customers which is understandable but not my fault you quoted three business days then took a week to start. If you want to remove your vehicle they will claim labor they have into it. This is the worst experience getting a vehicle worked on ever. Review on Yelp first they only have 1 star rating.

Steve and Ronnie at Mr. Transmission in Houston were helpful, and treated me kindly and patiently. As an “old school” senior, I asked to be treated with kit gloves and that is exactly what they did, explaining what was wrong with car, helping me with rent car, and giving me options. Sometimes auto issues are overwhelming, maybe because in the past, I relied on the man of the house to take care of the car. So much for that plan. (Sexist much?). My point is to let anyone else who feels intimidated by auto issues, that Mr Transmission is trustworthy. I highly recommend them.

The way the owner/Manager of this business communicates/works is fundamentally misleading.Facts:1) My transmission broke down and I called them and he said they would tow my car for FREE and do a diagnostic pretty much guarantee me that they can fix it for approx. $2000 (2013 Nissan Altima). He seemed friendly and certain.2) Once they got the car to their shop, they opened it up and figured they couldnt fix it.3) They called me and updated me on that and he said I should go pay and pick up the car.4) I got there and I found out that my transmission was not actually put back, but it was in my trunk un-assembled (YES!).-He charged me $200 for towing, because he claimed since they didnt fix it, they are not making any money.-He charged me $500 labor for basically taking the transmission out of the car to diagnose (AND NOT PUTTING IT BACK!)5)And when he noticed that I was having difficulty paying, he kept asking if I wanted to abandon my car (which was worth way more than $700).Other than the blatant poor service of him being on the phone planning a birthday party while I was sitting in front of him in his office, these are the FACTS as they happened.YOU BE THE JUDGE OF THIS BEFORE TAKING YOUR CAR HERE!

I love MR. Transmission! When originally called about my car problems I was so lost and upset because I had been to so many shops already that found my car trouble to difficult. The very first conversation I had was with MR. Roney he reassured me that leaving my car with him would be a project that he could possibly learn from but he promised to fix it no matter the trouble he had to face with figuring the solution out. Through out the time my car was at this shop Mr. Roney called to keep me updated on everything including the prices . When I called to check in on my car he never made me feel like I was getting on his nerves. When my car was ready he called me with joy in his voice and has been very appropriate with the pricing and flexible with the time frame that I could pick the car up. My car was there since February. They didnt fix everything I paid for. Then they started a lien process before they finished working on my car. I still had to pay have of the lien although they were not finished.

Got my transmission rebuilt by Mr. Transmission, was told when I went to pick up my truck that they had issues with the shift solenoids but they thought they had fixed the problem. After a couple months shifts solenoids gave out, when I took it back somebody I didn’t deal with the first time gave me a lot of attitude and acted like he was going to find a way around fixing it for free, though they had this problem before giving it back to me the first time. Then it took nearly two months, and me calling several times for them to finally tell me oh yeah your truck is ready. I got there to pick it up and it was parked behind other vehicles in a fenced off part of the lot like it had been done for a while and they never called me. Then three days later while driving down the freeway, you guessed it, shift solenoids went out again. Would not recommend and will never use again.

Many reasons....ask and I will answer. They were cordial so thst is what the star is for.

I highly recommend him and his team for all of your transmission repairs! I will absolutely use them again if needed and refer them to everyone I know. I have 2011 BMW 750Li. A month after my warranty ended, my car would go into park but the sensor said it was in neutral. I took it to Mr. Transmission despite the negative reviews. Alex was very helpful and kept me up to date as much as he could. A 3 day job took 2 weeks because of parts. I expected it to be faster but their diligence showed in their work. Obviously it couldnt be rushed because certain parts had to be shipped from out of town. $4500 later im satisfied with my transmission rebuild. My car drives like when I first pulled it off the car lot. I couldve easily traded the car in but it was worth it. I appreciate the help.

OK so I had my car disable for 2 weeks finally gave a call to Mr transmission and they towed for free and had it check process went good and fast went in on Tuesday out by Friday morning and they did repairs for me that had to with the engine rear seal and an abs harness that I knew it needed change and brought most places will give you run around they said consider it done so $2400 had my 09 Buick lacrosse cxl back and rolling like new thanks to Alex and Armando their main tech for taking care of it and getting it fix

I wish this place had zero stars.I needed a selenoid for my car. The guy Alex said it was the torque converter. We took it for a diagnosis. He starts working on the car before we know what the diagnosis is. He quotes us 2000. We tell him to dont fix it. He proceeds to tell us hes charging a $300 to put back together. Needless to say my car has been with them for 2 weeks and still not fixed. He wanted his $ up front before we even looked or started the car. Long Story short cops were involved. Never take your car to this place.They are a rip off.

Worst place ever charge 500.00 to check the trsmission said it was one thing then came out with another thing. Instead of 500. 00 it was going to be 3500 dollars and left the transmission in the trunk of the car and muffle and the battery. It was going to cost another 500dollars to put it back together. My 1991 Chevrolet 2500 dually pickup transmission was rebuilt also payed for a torque converter my bill with just under $2000 it came with the 18-month warranty. I purchased a vehicle from the gentleman here.I was told that the car needed a water pump replaced (although I should have been suspicious when I was informed that leaks had only begun a few days prior). After spending $1500 to replace the pump and timing belt, I learned that there was nothing wrong with either of the them. The problem was actually fixed with a stop-leak formula that cost $6 and can be purchased from any auto parts supplier. I am surprised that a certified mechanic seemed to have no familiarity with this type of issue, but I am more disappointed that the information was given to me with absolute certainty, even though the mechanic apparently did not know what was actually wrong.Before buying the car, I also asked if there were other issues with the vehicle that I should know about, and was told the only other issue was that the radio needed to be reset. It turned out that the horn did not work and one of the cars tires was much smaller than the other three (this is something I unfortunately did not notice before buying); the wheel blew out not too long after purchase. Both of these are major issues that prevent a car from passing inspection, and I dont understand how a mechanic who has owned a particular vehicle for over one year could not be aware of these things. In addition, the drivers side window malfunctions; sometimes it doesnt go down, sometimes it doesnt go up. The armrest often gets stuck in the up position; the front cupholder often does not close; and the cars hood was loose. These are not issues that prevent the car from being driven, but they are significant details that the buyer should be informed of. Too, the radio needed more than a reset; it had a broken fuse. Again, I dont understand how a certified mechanic who has had possession of the vehicle for so long could not know any of these things (or, if they were known, why they were not disclosed to the buyer).Finally, there was an ordeal with receiving the title for the car. The business I visited to have the cars information placed in my name insisted that the title and other information should have already been with the mechanic, who would have paid fees for the car when it was first acquired. Since this was not done, the associated fees would therefore be passed on to the customer.

We had our Transmission and clutch work done with them. It has been constant issues, with breakdowns rebuilds and failures. Wrong parts, shotty workmanship and failure to fix it. We were stranded in the middle of no where multiple times with no after hour service number to call for tow help or assistance on our warranty. Will not go back here, work was sourced out and not done in shop and crappy job. How many times does it have to be rebuilt, We finally have to pay another shop again to do the same job right!

Took my 07 Toyota Camry in, needed a new transmission. They charged me for a complete rebuild and even says so on the invoice they gave me, Charged me 3100 which is fair if they actually rebuilt it. Then a few days after i pick it up i notice the transmission casing has a mark on it that says 07 lexus es350, same mark they have on used transmissions at the junk yard. So i had it checked out and they 100% put a used transmission in and did not rebuild it like they said on the invoice whatsoever. I wouldnt have minded the used transmission but that should have been half the price i paid. My whole thing is they lied about it which makes me feel they are not trustworthy at all. I tried to call them and give them a chance to make things right but they kept saying the supervisor would call me and he never did. He didnt deny or confirm over the phone. So since they wouldnt make things right i have hired a attorney and they are having a shop record and take photos after they break the transmission down to prove to the court it is used and will file the lawsuit.

From the moment I called them I knew the situation with my trucks transmission was Dyer but the gentleman behind the counter at the East Fw location was not only professional but compassionate and understanding. At no point in time did I have to wait for feedback from this young man he got back to me immediately every time. There were many mechanic shops around me that probably could have done the work but I had a feeling these guys would be better, so I limped my truck 40 minutes away from my home. When I arrived I was immediately met by their mechanic Mando and honestly I think this guy is wearing the wrong outfit. Mando was so professional and informative I picture him wearing a suit and teaching at a University not in a pair of Dickies. This guy knows his stuff and even took the time to walk me through it part by part after taking apart my transmission. The owner Ron its one of the most human businessmen Ive ever met and no matter how hard things got for me during this process on my end he never lost patience, was kind, and supportive. The guys at the shop will help you more than any other place that Ive seen. Nobody wants to lose their car so mechanical issue but if it must happen these are the guys you want on your side because they stand next to you and not just to dig in your pockets. I would definitely choose this company to do more work on my truck in the future but they did such a great job on my truck this time I dont think I will be needing their services from this point. Keep up the good work Mr Transmission youre a great company with great guys!

I went to Mr.Transmission last month to have my 2013 Accent repaired it was not shifting wright. I was vary concerned about getting it repaired because it was so new. I thought maybe parts would be hard to find or maybe it was to complicated. They had the car just 3 days and it worked right. They asked me to bring it back in a week for a recheck to make sure I was happy. The recheck took only 15 minutes and they offered me a bottle of water while I waited. Now that is customer service. I have driving the car without issues thank you Josh

Consumers Beware! I was told by Alex that a total rebuild would be $1500 so I allowed Alex to tow the truck to his shop. Once there he told me it would be $3700 because I abused my transmission. He then told me he would have my truck salavaged if I did not do it now. After saying I would pick it up he said $700 or it is salvaged. He was very challenging and disrespectful, all it would have taken was showing me if it was the truth. I allowed the work to keep from a bad situation. He did it for $3000. I felt that I was baited and switched then I thought maybe it was the truth until hearing other customers complaining the same as I picked up.

I would NOT give this place a star.....The transmission on my Jetta was slipping took my vehicle there to have it diagnosed originally he said it was the torque converter, Alex told me that to open and look into the transmission would cost 589.00 I did express that the cost was TOO much he said that it was labor, that my cost would be 1200.00, turns out according to them it had gunk and metal shavings in the transmission and guess what that the cost to fix was NOW 3280.00 I was financing the cost to repair to one of the vendor on line. Alexs he was giving me lecture on why my transmission was very costly to repair, I express my concerns and my frustrations regarding the price, I decline to have it fixed and Alex said that I had to pay 890.00 to deliver my NON drivable car that he had to replace seals etc.... I told him You never said that in the event that I decline repair you all had hidden costs, Learn my lesson and consumers BEWARE DO NOT RECOMMEND this PLACE. At the end of the day drove my Jetta in to the shop and took my car in a tow truck home.

These guys are terrible.My ram truck was acting up on the transmission. Over this 1.5 week endeavor with this repair shop there were multiple issues. First, they did no troubleshooting and just replaced the transmission and torque converter with a rebuilt one. After they did this, the same issue occurred destroying the transmission that was replaced. It turns out the computer was faulty causing solenoid failures. Fortunately they did not charge me for this messup.Repair bill was 2100 for rebuild and transmission computer.This week, I get a p0700 and p0740 code. They used the wrong transmission fluid. Chrysler needs the atf-4 fluid.DO NOT TAKE YOUR VEHICLE HERE

4/14/17 I finally went in today for my 10 day checkup, with an advanced appointment with the owner Ronny. He seems genuinely trying to preserve the integrity of his business and caring about customer satisfaction. He told me that the warranty is good for all locations in Houston. He also told me that out of state Mr. transmission would also honor the warranty after they receive his authorization. His lead technician Romano checked my car and showed me how to properly switch between 2 wheel and 4 wheel drive. Mr. Ronny also changed the warranty paper to its correct state. The car is running well so far. My opinion towards the crooked manager has not changed, but I was giving the name of another manager Steven as direct contact when the owner is not in the shop. One meets all kinds of people out in the world. As long as the crooked manager cant cause any damage to my rights as a customer and car owner, I am good with this shop. As far as I am concerned, every business has at least one bad dot... 4/14/173/25/17 One of the top reviews for this shop featured by Google is written by a man with the Exact Same Name as the Crooked Manager. 3/25/173/24/17 I am temporarily changing my review from 1 star to 3 stars after Ashley, the customer service rep. from 1-866 mr transmission, reached the actual owner of the shop and straightened things out a little. I also spoke to the owner, Ronald. He sounded way more in the realm a legit business person. He asked only the more readily available paperwork, such as papers came with inspection and registration to prove my ownership of the car. The manager wouldnt take any of those.My concerns are these now:How warranted would my 24mo/24kmiles warranty be? The owner is only scheduled to be in the shop few hours a day.I was asked to leave the shop by the manager, in the face of an appointment to initiate the warranty service. His only reason was You have an attitude. That incident itself still weakened the reliabilty of the warranty.A quick search shows that the manager has the same Last Name as the owner. Not my business, but concerning. Would I get legit and proper services when the manager is in the shop? Car problems dont normally happen at ones hour of convienence.I can write well and I can write aggressively when necessary. However, I speak with the manner of a regular school teacher. I paid for it with my American Express Card. They then declared that my car ownership and the repair warranty belongs to an older, White man who helped me tolled the car off the road. I had to call American Express to dispute it as a bad business deal. The manger asked for 0 proof from a White handy man to assure the ownership of the car, but he demands to see my car title, the credit card recipt to prove that its my car and that I paid for the repair. He even insinuate that the man is letting me use the car temporarily. I showed him the original sales contract of the car that stayed with the maintanece book from many years ago - the only paper I had at the time. He refused to look at it. He just asked for the title paper of the car more aggressively.. The credit card used for the transaction has my name on it and it matches the record in the front side of the repair order. He refused to look at it. He just asked for the credit card recipt more aggressively. I was denied of my 10 day check up. I was denied of my ownership of the car. I was denied of the warranty. He asked me to leave, saying I have a bad attitude. Nobody would trust a 2 year warranty when one is denied of ones standing as a customer, as owner of the warranty, as a paid consumer and the car owner, simply because one is not an older, white man. This whole thing is just bad, bad, crooked deal... 3/22/17

This place is a scam...they will tell u the scam of having metal fragments...and then try to sell you a brand new transmission when you brought your car in running condition. Run leave this very un professional place alone....do not bring your bussiness here

Took my nissan altama there for a rebuilt, had other shops charging me OK her 3,000 and they got it done for one 1,100 and yet has not failed on me and runs like new

My transmission only lasted a month and alex blames it on me. A bunch of crooks.

Mr.Transmission should receive negative stars. They cant pay their bill or employees right to the point that they cant even by parts when a repair job comes in. They ask for money up front, have had multiple stolen vehicles stolen removed from their property by HOS, and wont give customers their vehicles money back when repairs are done wrong. Dont take your vehicle here.
