This is my second time coming here to get my state vehicle inspection. I called to get to set an appointment, they said first come first serve. I was able to arrive and get the state inspection accomplished in a half an hour. Thank you and had very polite service.

Our regular mechanic has changed ownership, and we had some concerns over service quality. Since Poutous is so close to us and the reviews were very good, we decided to give them a shot and see how the experience went. I left an appt request online, and they called to verify, which was nice. They kept our car overnight while they checked things out. (Basically it needed brake fluid replaced and checked for leaks in the coolant system) They called back with a quote for the work, and I told them OK. They had the car ready to go within their estimate. I put some cardboard down in the garage and after a week it didnt have a single drop on it, so I know they got the work done like they said. Will definitely return for future service needs.In addition, while their parking area is a bit cramped, their waiting area is huge, and well stocked so youll be comfortable while you wait. The three gentlemen i spoke to while I was there were friendly and down to earth.

Just got my Tacoma back from getting the 75k mile treatment and its running smoother than ever. They looked it over from bumper to bumper and only did what was needed. (Thankfully, being a Toyota, there wasnt much that needed to be done). Overall the experience was great. They exceeded my expectations. I was having problems with my transmission overheating and they replaced the transmission, water pump, and coolant resorvoir within a few day. They also washed my car and cleaned my tires which was really nice of them. I really appreciate that. My only con was the communication. They were supposed to keep me updated on things and they didn’t. I had to call them to get updates although they told me that they would call me on certain days. Regardless, my car is riding better than ever and I am truly pleased.

I got quoted +$600 to for a simple tire rotation with no explanation!? Its been years since that quote but ill do a follow up one day.

Just met the people at this shop face to face on 11/16//18, had previously dealt with them only by phone but they are VERY professional and did a wonderful job installing a motor in my Toyota. I couldnt be any more satisfied with the service . The car now drives like a brand new car. Went in for A/C work-up and it was very straightforward. I told them the problem I was having over the phone and was seen right away when I arrived. They were thorough with the work up and discovered I just needed a minor part replaced. The diagnostic fee was a fair rate and the replacement cost was more than fair. It almost felt like I was getting special treatment but, I get the impression that they are the type of business that does the right thing for the sake of do in my the right thing. 2 weeks out and so far my A/C problem is resolved. I will be coming back to see then for any other automotive needs.

I rave about Poutous Auto Repair to EVERYONE!I recently moved to the area and needed an oil change. I’m a big proponent of local businesses for auto repair. I tried Mister Oil Change/Car Wash for a while, but honestly felt like they were always trying to stack on additional things needing fixed on top of an oil change.I did a Google search for oil change services in the area and Poutous stood out to me because of the high reviews.The experience was so easy! My car was done in about 30 minutes. I drive an old model Tahoe and had always opted for pretty much the cheapest oil, usually a cheap Mobil 1. When I spoke to the mechanic, he mentioned that they used a price friendly premium oil that would extend the mileage of this oil change more so than the oil I had been using.When checking out, the man at the front desk signed me up for their rewards and loyalty program, which gave me about $20 off the service, making the oil change much more price friendly than any place I’ve been to in Houston.Afterward, I spoke with a mechanic about my Service Engine light which is throwing an EVAP leak code. He was very upfront that there was no immediate issue other than not being able to pass an emissions test. He then proceeded to tell me the process of finding out where the leak is, giving me my options based on best case scenario and worst case scenario and informed me that if the leak would take longer than 20-30 minutes to fix, they would provide a shuttle to go home and I could pick up my car when ready. He also gave me a price estimate based on similar instances. And seriously, I’ve never had a mechanic be so upfront with me about pricing and process.The communications I receive from Poutous make me smile! They’re so genuine and so kind. I actually received Poutous bucks” and a hand written note in the mail, and for me, those things go so far!I will definitely be using Poutous from here on out. I’ve never been so pleased with an auto repair shop!

On 10/10 took my car to them was not having any problem with my car starting. Picked it up on 10/11 drove it more 10/12 got in to go doctor and it would not start. Called the shop it nothing to do with what we did is what they said to me.Called 5 minutes ago and was told to bring it in so they can check it. Are you serious i rather See you in Court.

Stopped in to drop a friend off so she could pickup her car. Got an estimate on my car, was very honest. Left a lol broken, big repair! But she had talked to the tech after we left. Told him what I was told was wrong & noise it made. Called my friend & told her what the tech said.... dirty oil, low oil can result in same diagnostic reading. Went today to get my oil changed, have not heard the noise yet, going to drive around neighborhood to do it out. Still need to see why service engine soon light is on. But all in all, if this is it??? Kudos to the young lady, you have gained me as a future customer. They could have taken my $3500, but advised me to do something else first.Thank you!!!

Poutous Auto Repair is a Mechanics Mechanic meaning that they seem to understand thoroughly how vehicles operate so they know what, and what NOT TO, repair, yet they also seem to have a similar understanding of peoples budgets. I will explain.I am 73 years old and have owned several automobiles and trucks over 5 decades. When I was much younger and had a growing family we could not afford to have our cars repaired by others so I learned automotive repair and completed the corrective and preventative maintenance myself . That allowed me to pay for only the work that was required to keep the vehicles operating safely and within stringent cost constraints. As I aged and my children grew up and created their own families, I was able to pay for someone else to make the repairs and perform the preventative maintenance.Recently, I purchased a 10-year old truck with 108K miles and although it looked like it had been maintained well, I learned that the manufacturer had several instances of catastrophic engine and transmission failures for this model. Based on the recommendation from one of my sons, I decided to have Poutous completely check the vehicle and make recommendations for replacement of parts that were either completely worn out, or close to the end of their useful life. Derek worked with me to determine what could be done within my budget that would increase the likelihood that the truck will still be useful for the next 100K miles.After the work was completed, the truck has run quieter and more smoothly than before. I consider their work to be WELL DONE, will use them for all future maintenance and repairs, and recommend them.
