Ive had a couple of issues with my 07 Tacoma from air conditioning issues to brake line repair and each time Midtown Auto was able to resolve the issue promptly. The owner and staff are reliable and they communicate their diagnostics to you very well, a lot of times taking the effort to personally show you the changes made. The only issue Ive had is availability during the weekend. Id definitely recommend.

I read the reviews on this place and decided to give them a call. Sadly, I did not get the impression of courtesy and professionalism that was talked about in the reviews. I asked for Mikey and was told by the person on the phone that Mikey was out. I asked for an estimate, on cost of evaluating a Service Engine Light, and was given an service cost of $119. As I went on to inquire about my second problem, a MECHANICAL issue, the technician felt obligated to tell me that my other issue was separate from the Service Engine problem,, something that I already knew and had stated. He never gave me a quote for the second issue and said that I would have to drop off the car because they were always busy and that is what most customers do. That was not so easy for me since I have no ride to and from the shop.(what ever happened to repairs while you wait)When I called back 5 minutes later, Mikey answered the phone, and asked me if I had already called; he said he overheard my conversation with the technician. So why didnt the technician just put me on hold and let me talk with Mikey or have Mickey call me back?The technician DID NOT sound or act very professional, he did not listen very well and seemed more concerned about treating me like I was a total idiot when it came to auto repairs. ( I usually make most of my own repairs) My comments are not regarding the quality of repair, but the professionalism in dealing with the customer.Mikey, please train your staff on how to handle calls. I moved to Texas from Louisiana and I have a really old car. 2003 nissan sentra with 280k miles. To be perfectly honest my engine light has been on on my car since 2005. In Louisiana our car inspections are not that extensive like in Texas. I brought it to several mechanic shops, they all claim to fix the problem but the engine light comes on the next day. I did not have that problem here! I am a woman and I dont know much about cars I just listen to what the expertstell me. Ive spent so much money trying to fix this issue and Midtown Auto and Repair Service took care of it in one day! I had several different issues with my car that could have been taken care of, if I only would have gotten proper diagnostic done! Sometimes we go to the places that use that AutoZone code but that does not always fix the problem. My suggestion to you is pay for proper diagnostic and get it done right the first time!Mikey is very knowledgeable and passionate about his work. I am happy with the work done on my car. Technician was very friendly and knowledgeable. They were able to fix my bunt out AC in less than a day (on top of an oil change) while I was at work. When he noticed my cooling fan was also broken he contacted me and had it fixed that same day. Its been almost 3 months since the work was done, my ac is still blowing cooler than ever. Also, the included warranty on all work is all super nice. Ive just moved to houston and this will be my mechanic until I move again.

He did all of this in a way that was not chaotic, but rather composed and aware... as if there were years of experience behind his movements. I needed a wheel assembly and Midtown Automotive was able to beat other competitors prices! M8ke is very honest about what you need for the vehicle. I was told that the repairs may take awhile and my car wont be ready until the next day but it was ready the same day! Three weeks later and my car is still doing great!

As a college student not from Houston, I have had difficulty finding a place I could regularly service my car and not be taken advantage of or ripped off. Ive visited multiple places around the central Houston area and Midtown Auto Service has been the best by far. Mike treated me kindly and respectfully and made the entire process transparent so I knew exactly what was going on with my car, why I needed it, the pros and cons of taking care of the problem now vs. later. It was genuine service. A few weeks prior I went to another shop in the area to receive engine light diagnostics and received a long list of things that were wrong and the quote I received was over $2800. I simply could not afford that and had to wait. My quote at Midtown Auto Service was... get this: $600. I couldnt believe it. They are experts at emissions repairs and provided quick and excellent service. For as long as I am in Houston, this will be my go to place for car service!

TL;DR Ive been to Midtown Auto twice now. This will be the only repair shop I will go to while I live in Houston.I am relatively new to the Houston area and when my muffler started making weird sounds I knew it was time to take it somewhere. The only reason I originally chose Midtown was because it was close to my gym, but im glad I did. Mike and his team are incredibly professional. Both times Ive been (for unrelated reasons) my car has been up on the lift within minutes of dropping in, the problem has been diagnosed quickly and explained in a way that I understand. Most importantly, Mike has explained how the problem affects drivability, my wallet and what his recommended course of action is. I didnt even get a chance to see how the service was because first, arriving at 8:02 am, I was informed that it would be 20 minutes before the machine was ready to do my inspection. Then, after stating that I would wait, i was told that I MUST pay in advance in CASH. What modern day business only accepts cash? Im missing something.

Midtown auto is one of the best auto repair service i have visited in recent times. I took my Cadillac STS to them yesterday and the owner came early to work to ensure that the car was ready for me to pick up today. I dont know if Im being fair with the stars but I brought my camaro to diagnose a squealing noise coming from the brake pads and was told it was 99 dlls for the diagnostic. I dont think it was bad if it could be used all towards the cost of the repair. I was a little disappointed when I was told that only half could be used against repairs.

In and out very quickly. The team is fantastic, am glad that they physically showed me a small leak and aging suspension parts. Honest, forthright, and knowledgeable, everything you want in a mechanic.

I recently had my car serviced here and was very happy with the fast and friendly service. I was only charged one hour for three hours worth of work (and this was after the shop closed), had actual Nissan replacement parts, and I was able to pick up my car the very next day. Ill definitely return for any future issues.

I had the pleasure of dealing with Mikey of Midtown Auto Service & Repair a couple of weeks ago. Not only were he and his staff able to correctly diagnose and promptly fix the issue with my car (which I originally mis-diagnosed myself), but Mikey also personally went out of his way and drove to a distribution center to pick up a part in order to ensure that my car was repaired the next day after I dropped it off. I highly recommend this place!

Excellent service from Midtown Auto. Found an issue that another mechanic did not fix correctly. Price is a bit higher than other shops but you definitely get what you pay for and the work is excellent.

I wrote this over two months ago but the algorithm of Google flagged this as Inappropriate: I work for a local radio station here in Houston. Another Christmas has passed and the folks at Midtown Auto Service, again has provided free services to helping others who were in need. These people included are the poor, the needy, the elderly, the sick, and mothers with young child. Ive known the owner for some time he is a man of God. he is the first to volunteer his time and money to helping others with a smile. I not only endorse his company, but anyone I know, I will speak of this man as a good servant and strongly recommend his facilities.
