One new electric and one acoustic on consignment.After a few months, I noticed a ringing on my acoustic and couldn’t figure out the problem. I brought it in and they diagnosed and fixed the guitar on the spot with no charge. (A nearby store wanted to charge me and schedule an appointment just to look at the guitar).Highly recommend if you’re looking for a great local guitar store with a good selection and super friendly and helpful staff!!

Very knowledgeable guitar specialist! I found this place online when looking for Taylor certified technician to lower the action on my newly bought guitar. I got a very thorough and friendly phone consultation. Then when I came in to the shop I got my guitar fixed in no time. They didnt even charge me, because it was an easy fix. The store itself is also very nice with very good selection of acoustic guitars, electric guitars, basses, etc. Strongly recommended!

Best in store stock on the island. From pricey Taylors, to wide arrange of Martin guitars, and down to your less pricey Yamaha and Fender acoustics, and an assortment of electric models with all the accessories.

I found my new favorite guitar tech on Oahu. I brought my Taylor by for work under warranty and was given their info by the Taylor customer service office. I honestly wasnt sure if this was covered under warranty and stopping by Guitar Center left me with more questions than answers. I purchased it from GC back on the mainland last year so tried them first but was less than impressed with their clerks knowledge. I also wasnt too fond of their maintenance work bench out next to roaming customers without any employee in sight. I doubt any customers would mess with a guitar on the bench but Id hate to see a multi-thousand dollar or vintage instrument ruined because some curious little kid didnt know any better.Due to changes in humidity after moving here my action was higher than Id like. Island Guitars was able to work directly with Taylor warranty department on my behalf, ensured it was registered with their warrant service, and completed everything free of charge. The action on it is now about as low as you can go without causing buzzing and is much easier on the fingers!They have a fairly large stock of acoustic guitars by Taylor and Martin as well as ukuleles of various price points. They also have a smaller electric selection but honestly, it gets right to the point instead of showing you a wall of the same guitar in 15 different color patterns. They have Strats, Les Pauls, and more. Even a bunch of used guitars for good prices.

I was looking to buy a Martin HD-28 and found a virtually new used one on Island Guitars. I contacted Neil at Island Guitars and he gave me an offer I couldnt refuse. Neil is incredibly helpful and knowledgeable and shipped the guitar to my home in Maui. I would like to give the highest recommendation possible to Neil and Island Guitars!!!

Had a little difficulty finding this place as it is hidden in a corner. You just cant see it as you go up the ramp to the second floor. Thats because as you travel up the ramp, its behind you to where you just cant see it. Service was good

I haven’t been on the island more than four days and Pete, the owner, made me feel right at home in his guitar shop. I feared the prices would be exorbitant, as everything else on the island is, but his prices were very fair. I’d say equivalent to prices you’d find on the mainland. If you’re searching for it, go into the Nimitz Center and go up the stairs and take a left. He’s down on the end on the left.

Been going to Island Guitars since the place opened on Piikoi Street back in the late 80s, maybe early 90s. Great staff, very knowledgeable. I have bought several guitars there. Love my Gibson J30 acoustic. The store has grown, is beautiful, and the inventory is superb. Im a big fan of Gibson.

Staff are knowledgeable (working musicians & techs) and personable, and they got a good price for my consignment item. I was very pleased.

This place was great with a big selection. DI was helped just after I walked in and he was down to earth and despite my being new to the instrument, my questions were all answered and I left a happy customer.

Island Guitars is Easy, Chilled, Friendly Service. They have a Great Selection, Many Guitars and Wide Variety of used instruments. Ive purchased two guitars here so far. Ive had Pete adjust another. I had an UnEasy experience at a chain Music Center on this Island which doesnt carry the higher end guitars I was looking for anyway. Better to go to Island Guitars.

I figured Id try this guitar shop since the one I usually go to was closed. Needless to say I wont be going back! The employees give off an extremely rude vibe. I figured the bad reviews were a little harsh.. But in all honesty I dont think they are harsh enough. Point blank: Ill spend my money elsewhere and I definitely will not be recommending any friends to this store.

Very friendly! I bought a guitar and they threw in a stand a strap and some picks! Their register took a while though. Will go again for some strings.

Not pleased with the quality of the tuners. I just bought a snark hz (usually a $14-16 item) it was $26. Instead of having on par quality for $26 and the average musicians needs, they have inadequate low quality gear. There wasnt even the option for a decent tuner.. The $10 mark up is pretty bad.

The assortment of royal roads is the best.Although the number of used items is low, electric items are rich in both solid and box items.I wonder if there are no popular brands these days. Sir and Sudowski.The main acoustic guitars are Taylor, Gibson and Martin.The Eastman lineup was also abundant.The base is fender, Ibanez main, and Epiphone is moderate.The amp is pretty good.There are quite a few vintage items, so I thought Duns was good here.

One of the few music shops in Hawaii. Specializes in guitar and ukulele. There are also guitars and ukuleles made of Hawaiis unique material core, but the price is high.

It was moved from the old place and it was a little inconvenient because it was away from Waikiki.If you have a rental car, it may not be so much trouble.
