Although smaller than your chain store, this grocery store is probably one of the better Korean stores on the island with a decent selection of fresh Korean vegetables, condiments, and frozen/ fresh seafood and meat as well as being very clean and tidy. The was also a nice cosmetic section featuring popular Korean brands. The staff are very courteous and respectful to their customers. Although we live in Ewa, we always drop by whenever doing business downtown.
I liked the selection of Korean staples that were available here, as well as the convenient location to my Moms Waikiki store. On this day, there was an older man who kept the busy cashier lines moving in a fair, shipshape fashion. Koreans tend to be impatient, so this kind of service was appreciated. Our cashier was patient as I looked for a couple bucks for one of their study shopping bags. They accept EBT, which allowed me to try a new persimmon vinegar on this shopping trip.Don Quixote is right next door, and one of my favorite places for Korean soups, Sorabol Restaurant, is just a short distance away, making Palama Palama Mah-ket a regular stop for a busy Kor-Am Ahjumma like myself. 땡큐!!
They have individual Samyang/Buldok ramen!!!
They got all the goods you want from a Korean market. Overall, a pretty lit place. The coolness factor is off the charts as well. Check it out if you want to be cool or if you want to be lit.
Not really spacious but I could find various of Korean products sold at reasonable prices!
This store has every Korean ingredient needed to make any Korean dish. It even sells packages of Korean dishes that can be made at home by mixing everything together. Soba, beans, sauces, veggies, meats, etc., can all be found here. There’s even a little restaurant off to the side. Upon entering, there’s a standing temperature check machine to scan all customers. Perfect way to stay safe during this Covid era.
Nice store with lots of Korean food variety. Clean and well lighted.
Stopped by Vons Chicken (theyre super good), and grabbed a few extras while at Palama Supermarket. If youve ever been to Korea, after from Korea or simply like Korean cuisine, this is the place to go.I swore I was back in Deagu with the choices here. Definitely a must-visit if you love Korean cuisine.
Convenient grocery store. And they have a dine-in/ togo food area. #11 on the menu is delicious.
This one being in the town for yeara now. Convenient but the parking can be tricky sometimes.
Good little store packed with korean/Asian delicacies.
Nice ready to go Section. Food court attached. Ask the cashier for some Chopsticks or utensils if you are buying the bentos to go. They keep them at the register. Parking is difficult. Drive all the way to the back, and right after the ramp there were two hidden little stalls. Or drive up around and park on the second floor. Very good prices, food looks fresher than across the street at Don Quijote. Sweet older folks abound in the morning. Come early for the best and freshest Bento selection.Would be five stars except the parking can still get a bit tight, and the staff could be friendlier considering all of the tourist action.
Its clean but pricey.little more then H-mart. Food quality is better than H-mart.
Some vegetables and fresh meats have decent prices.
Huge selection of Korean and Asian goods. I especially love the fresh Korean side dishes! Very efficient and kind cashiers. Hope to visit Palama Supermarket more often!
This store is very affordable, and I think that they have quality food. The store is clean and very well arranged. The follow food safety standards very well. The prices are cheaper than Foodland with local farmers agriculture. Staff are friendly and nice.
This is a very unique cool spot with a lot of options as far as Asian delicacies, Hawaiian food, and many other snacks and treats. You only have two registers so the lines can be long but it moves fast. People are friendly and nice. Although they dont like tourists much, get what you need and get out.
I went to this location on advise from a friend who said they had a large collection of face masks. I saw some masks on display in the window and went in to look around. They mostly have cloth masks of the same style in many different colors and many logos. I bought three of the two layer masks. The cloth is nice on the skin and they have several sizes. I prefer face masks with an inner pocket for filters, but I think that people that dont have a preference for filters will like the fit and feel of these masks. I did not explore the rest of the market as this was a single item quick trip.
As a Korean grocery in HI, it’s good enough. The price is not low, average or higher, the deli, it depends. Not all of them are good, some of them are good with a relatively reasonable price. The Korean appetizer is good enough out there, I’d say. Again, the price is NOT low.
First time shopping here. Trying to make all my favorite korean food since a lot of restaurants are still closed. Theres a watch/key kiosk outside I didnt know about. Which was convenient because I needed my watch battery changed. Super cheap too. The man behind the counter was nice. Parking lot is small, but there were stalls and a helpful attendant directing traffic when needed. The store was easy to navigate and all of the staff are helpful and nice. The cashier was genuinely cheerful and told me about how this store was such a big part of her childhood it made her want to work there. I will definitely be coming back more often.
I like the kimchee and pickled vegetables sold here, but it used to be a lot better before the pandemic. The selection was better and it was a buffet serve yourself deal. Thats not happening now. 😐 The parking is always a problem because Palama Market is so popular, but its worth the hassle. 😀
You will find great sales in-store at this Korean supermarket. You can also order Korean plate lunches from their diner area.
Great Korean grocery store! This particular location has a very nice food court (vans chicken da bomb).
Love the store parking not the greatest especially safety wise
Great place to get fresh kimchee and other fresh vegetables.
Great little Korean store. Reminds me of the small town grocery stores I grew up with. Friendly helpful staff. Good selection. Many pre-made Korean meals. Highly recommended.
Love the prepared foods. Great kimbop!
Customer Service is poor and the English Language has barriers. One last thing, do not purchase their store bags? For some reason it has a horrible odor in which still lingers.
The market was very well lit and clean
I visited May 20, 2021 evening and there was lines and very slow. Only a few customers.. Usually pretty busy. Im assuming due to the pandemic, there are no sales going on. But, a few sales are in Store specials.
Best place for Korean groceries.
Had everything I needed and the aunty behind the counter was super nice and personally went to fetch some chips she recommended. Palama has the best selection of thinly sliced meats for yakiniku and shabushabu.
Good Korean food, love thier palam kimbap sushi!! ❤ crowded though and limited parking. No dividers at checkout but they scan for your temperature.
Best bang for your buck for bean sprouts, hands down. $4.99 + tax for a big bag. Parking is almost always crazy, but Ive never had to wait for a stall. Theyve a lot of instant noodle selection, and quite a variety of to-go bento. Good soju drinks on display too.
Interesting place to shop if youre looking for imported food items.
I just flew in from Korea and was looking for some good food that didn’t cost an arm and a leg. The soup place was authentic and a little better than what I get in Korea. The owner Mrs. Kim took care of me. I highly recommend.
Organized, clean
Parking can be a problem small and congested. However you can park at Don Quioxte parking structure and walk over, very close. Once inside it is well worth it as the Korean food in the little cafe is worth the effort. The staff is friendly and the food is excellent, nothing like Pearls, although they are good in their own right. At Palama the food is made to order not sitting in fast food buffet line. If you like Korean food you wont be disappointed.
Male staff here was so rude yelling at me about the temperature scanner while I was on the phone. Used to come here all the time. Will never come back
Great an varied Korean products. A bit over priced tho.
Tasty chicken and rice & sushi, meals at a reasonable price.
Provide various Asian vegetables and meats. It is a good market and prices are very reasonable.
I dont know. Sorry about it
Love this market. Meets my Korean food product needs
There is a Korean food & snack bar & cosmetics section, the staff is clean and friendly.
This place offers good and relatively cheap authentic Korean food. If you want great deals, this is the place for you.
Lots of different asian foods. A fair amount of prepared ready to eat food.
Korean Center; always a pleasure being there!
They have a lot of interesting items as well as the usual grocery items. Parking is limited during peak hours like lunch and dinner time because they have a small food court like area. Prices are comparable to other asian markets and the store as a whole is quite clean.
My favorite is the seafood spicy tofu hotpot on the food court side.
It was better than 3 weeks ago. The meat department sold me kalbi ribs for approximately $11 lb. I got 4 pieces of rock hard frozen pieces because they ran out. I was charged $28. Today I bought 4 pieces thawed out and soaked it cost me $13. You think I got ripped off the 1st time? If I had to rate them the 1st time it would be zero stars.
Find just about any Korean grocery item you need. The prepared foods are good, BUT if youre MSG sensitive dont partake! I think it all would taste just as good without. You can even find obscure non-Korean food items here, like mustard oil!
A small market that carries only the essential items. The food court choices are very good, however.
Good place to get Korean foods and products. Fresh local produce, variety of Korean pickeld side dishes, grab an go bentos, all you can eat counter in back of the store and more. Visit and maybe youll find something Korean that appeals to you too.
One of my go-to market! Quality Korean product, good service, the place is always clean. Reasonable price, accessible location, and no problem with the parking lot.
This is a Korean grocery store with lots of good Korean food and items. Inside they have a mini food court with Korean barbeques to KFC (Korean Fried Chicken) also drinks and noodles. There are nice workers there to help you of you need it. I would recommend you to go to Palama Supermarket!
Good service 👍
Small place but all the Korean essentials. Great prepared side dish bar...the kimchee cucumbers and daikon are excellent! They even have a couple of little food stands inside...nice ear in or take home Korean food for lunch. Staff is not the most friendly...but will help if you ask. The only downside is the small parking lot...usually full or near full.
There is lots of Korean products from Korea... I like their prepared foods already for lunch or dinner. They also have a long bar of pan chan appetizer dishes. The restaurants are reasonably priced and serve ono Korean food.Lots of parking.Bathrooms are wheelchair accessible.
This store is clean, selection unique and prices very fair. The food court is attractive and comfy. Free parking in front.
Brainless, useless, old parking attendant aside, there are so many friendly and competent staff here. I like the many mini variety of foods and eateries even though it is such a small space.I dont mind the funky bathrooms. But hate having to ask for keys to piss n poo. Especially after feasting and needing sudden, quick relief!Who has the key?Where is it?Who can answer me. In English?... Carry diapers?Bathroom strike?
Kim Chee fried rice is good BBQ meat with rice is good and the mandoo with chive is good would come back and buy again
I understand probably the food corner is individually owned. If youre Plant-base, and ask for a Sushi Roll (Kimbap) without meat and Egg, just veggies, you are told off a big NO rudely!!Now, thats customer service for you!!I am more than willing to pay same price for No Meat, No Egg!On the other hand, the main Palama Market on King Street, they are always willing to wrap me as many as I want!
Great prices on veggies and ramyun sales. Always got to stop in to check their banchan selection. If you want to do a Korean BBQ party, they have everything you need. But, the snack corner is the best section of the store. Simple, but delicious Korean BBQ plates. Naengmyun and soft tofu soup are the go-tos!
Love this place, I go at least twice a week. I try something different all the time, I dont know the names but the table with all the Korean dishes is AMAZING.
Definitely my go to place when I need me some good food and Samyang noodles 😋
Great selection of Korean and other Asian foods at a great price. Good, prepared food bar.
Excellent Ready-to-Eat meal options.I like Palama for their reasonably price and delicious prepared food. The Korean style sushi rolls and dumplings are especially tasty and travels well if you preferred to not eat/buy plane food.Parking is limited, but somehow, car spaces usually frees up as a another car arrives. Shoppers generally don’t loiter here so easy to dash in, get what you want and move on.
Good priced Korean food!
Palama market is personally my favorite market on island!! I love how fun this place is and how many different selections of Korean food there is. I love how affordable it is here and the quality of the ingredients are great! It is also so convenient to get a meal here while you find delicious Korean ingredients.
Its a small market that specializes in Korean foods and food products but they also have some Japanese food products. They have a small produce section, meat and fish section as well. Not much variety in the produce but you get some basic things youd find anywhere. They did have some special types of produce that seem like they were from Korea. Best place for Kimchi though! We got one but it was in a plastic bag which was okay just have a container at home to store it. Parking is small and tight but there was someone there to help direct traffic in the parking lot so it that was helpful.
Great place for everything.. and especially the fresh food ready eat...yummy..
Good Korean store. Try the spicy chicken
Cheap plate lunches! Great kimchees too! Check whats on sale, you might find great bargains her!
Tiny grocery store packed with lovely Korean products. Saw Vons fried chicken wings stall there. Yay! Korean prepared dishes, pan panchan and kimchee sold by weight. Fresh vegetables and fruits available too. Ill go there to buy snacks and kimchee instant noodles.Thin slices meats available for yakiniku or shabu. Meat is rubbery and tough so youll need sharp choppers for chewing meat gum. Low prices get you low quality. Dont expect a5 wagyu here, its under $10 per small tray. Yup, get what you pay for-sooooo true.
Good selection of different ethnic foods.
Love their chicken! But very disappointed with my phone order. Placed the order to be picked up between 1:30-2:00. Got here before 2:00 and they gave my order away. I was very mad, especially since I was on a time frame and it made me late for a very important meeting
Fresh Korean products. High turnover. If u love Korean soaps ull recognize much of the food stuff. Plus, K-pop piped in! Authentic Korean food/ingredients/housewares/cosmetics! Korean facial care so on trend that Vogue reports on the latest.
Great service 👏
We got tummy Korean snacks and fresh vegetables. In and out in a jiffy. Highly recommended.
Very kind employee..
Korean sushi, kalbi, and frozen seafood are some of the things I buy from here. Not to mention its right downstairs from the UPS store
Great prices on produce w/ a decent selection of imported goods. The take-out local style korean plates are cheap, generous, and delicious.
The food and beverages offered there were delicious. Hands down, one of the best fried chickens I ever had.
Great place to grab an affordable plate lunch. Legit Korean food
Varies in prices, certain items cheaper here. And a few little high. good fresh quality. Its a fun store if youre hungry go here & show me the people are Pleasant
Nice BBQ Chicken
Very good Korean market. Excellent food court. Cheap, good food.
Nice Korean market with a food court. Best place around to buy kimchi
Love the korean food, fast and convenient place to shop for all your asian food, mostly Korean food stuff.
Good place for Korean groceries. The pre-prepared foods are tasty.
Lots of great products and excellent take out.
They have very good Maki sushi. Especially gobo sushi.
