We are spending a week of vacation in Waikiki, looking for where to buy poke, lau lau, salmon fruits, guava drinks and local dishes. I found this Safeway in our neighborhood. I made a good purchase, everything very fresh and well presented, I even added some colorful Hawaiian wooden spoons, a precious souvenir for my kitchen. I highly recommend it.

The local grocery store....not too bad. The food was reasonable, the store was clean and the customer service was great. If we need more food, this is definitely our first stop. Thanks Safeway ❤

Holy smokes! Food in Hawaii is expensive. Place was very clean, organized and easy to move around. We forgot that you had to purchase bags so just a reminder. Great place to grab food to cook while being in an Airbnb.

Covid shots are fast here, so long you register on line which is also fast and easy. Took mom to get her booster.

This place is terrible. The staff is rude and not helpful when trying to find things. There’s not enough parking spots in the lot so you have to try to find parking far away and walk. The lines at the checkout and deli are slow as molasses. On top of it all their selection is garbage. Other Safeway’s offer a lot more. The one in Makiki is way better. 0/5 dumpster fire

Clean, organized, great produce and its open 24 hrsForgot to thaw protein and missing 4/7 ingredients you thought you picked up? Fear not this Safeway location has you covered!Very clean, well organized store so everything is easy to find (and makes it easier to compulsion shop....) The produce seems to last longer than what we get from other stores which makes weekly meal prepping easier.They have a membership points card (like most grocery stores) but here you can redeem then for free groceries through the app. You also get fuel rewards with Texaco to help offset fuel costs.The only negative is that its a bit more expensive, but the quality, coupons and fuel points make the price easier to swallow.

Great store. Has pretty much everything and a few specialty items that are hard to find elsewhere. Prices are also not too bad. When they see lines get longer they open up more registers which is super nice. Staff is also very friendly.

Love having all of my favorite items from home whole traveling. AND good prices on some local items that you would overpay for at other locations... Coffee, macs, cookies, etc.

Occasionally has some really great sale prices, but overall things can be a little on the expensive side here. The store is definitely a huge American style supermarket. I prefer places that are a little smaller personally.

Overall a good grocery store. Just make sure to come during the daytime as the overnight staff are all very unpleasant and unfriendly. If it weren’t for the fact that this is the only 24-hour shopping option available in COVID times, i wouldn’t recommend this establishment after 10 pm.

I’ve been here multiple times while staying in the area.Each time the lines to checkout have been insanely long.I watched a guy stuff a hundred dollars of steak in a bag and walk right out the front door tonight. I couldn’t blame him, he probably didn’t have an hour to stand in line.

So expensive! Walmart is cheaper. But this place has more of a variety of items! Prepare spending $200 for 4 to 5 days worth of food for 4 ppl.

Go here quite often and would like to point out how awesome Beau is at the self checkout. He’s so helpful and always smiling and full of good vibes. If I was running the place, I’d make sure Beau gets a managerial position immediately.

Visiting from Georgia. Was able to get most of the items. Needed a product for hair, a manager was gracious enough to try and assist me. Item was not carried by store

This was a great grocery store! While in Hawaii we needed to pick up some food and bakery items they had everything I needed it was clean and the bakery was beautiful and friendly and so was the deli.

Its Safeway.... what more to say! Oh.... maybe just that ... if you like poke... their kalpana mix is a must try. Also... their sushi to go is pretty yummy too for a ready made product!!

Security guard followed me and yelled at me for using a sweater instead a mask. He was so rude and disrespectul and started arguing with me. That’s not how you treat customers. I will never go back to this Safeway. Thanks to the security guard from completely ruining my experience there

Came here during our trip in waikiki. I was impressed by their standards in their meat department. Im actually a meat manager for a Kroger division, and I was impressed that they are actually still cutting their own meat. Most chains are going to prepackaged meat that is flushed in gas(to enhance shelf life and maintain red color), and this store is still doing it the old fashioned reliable way. It may not look perfect like a machine that cuts meat, but the art of cutting isnt always a perfect image. Keep up the great work and keep the trade going.

Safeway tend to have larger selections than Times or Food land but definitely pricier and often not enough cashiers but now with self checkout things moved much quicker.

Cleanest Store ever. Thats a lot for me to say, I am the Operations manager for a healthcare system in Hi over housekeeping and Linen Services. Staff always friendly, great customer service.

This store needs a better way to get the workers attention for items they insist on keeping locked up. Forcing customers to wander the store looking for help is unacceptable.

Better variety than Walmart but their prices are higher

I bought Salad and sushi and also sweet .none of them were fresh. the prices are much higher than other grocery stores.

Not good, too busy for so late at night and they closed upstairs parking. Bad idea with downstairs having other restaurants around. I like to park upstairs, lots of space and easy to get in and out fast.

Great find on an expensive trip!Safeway is very well maintained and will save you a lot of money IF you go to the service desk and ask for a club member card, its free!There is a food court and a Starbucks inside.You can take the elevator to the parking lot on top of the store to take some pretty nice pictures of Honolulu!Also just about a hundred yards away is the famous Leonards Bakery, a MUST visit!The only shock that we saw was a gallon of milk $5.49 to $8.99!And seedless watermelon $1.49 A POUND! We placed a mellon on the scales, it was a little over 24 pounds. That comes out to $36.00!DOLE should plow their pineapples under and start growing Watermelons!

Cole in the deli section of the Kapahulu location was so nice and extremely helpful. I ordered the chicken tenders, he squeezed one and suggested that I wait 8 minutes for a new batch. The batch in the bin he said was probably dry. So nice of him to share that info. It was very much appreciated. I ordered the honey turkey and he shared the red mark with me. Asked if I would rather not have those marks on my slice. Once again so nice. Wanted tofu salad but was surprisingly not available. He shared the delivery days with me. Such an outstanding employee. Safeway should be proud to have him on board.

All the right things at a slightly higher price. Cantalope extra sweet right now. Grapes excellent also. Parked on top, busy today.

I love this location! The employees are nice. There is a discount section in the back. There is a dollar section in the front (left side). There are bathrooms in the front (left side). There is a florist who can make actual arrangements. There is a bakery who can make custom cakes. And check out the cheese section for hidden discounts too!

I was surprised that we did not find many local products in stock except hawaiian pineapples and a little bit of macadamias.

It seems that the milk alternatives are not restocked rapidly, having come on separate days and finding less each day. Otherwise, well stocked with other items, reasonably fast checkout, nice exterior and interior.

I love this Safeway! Its beautiful but most things are kinda pricy. Parking up the ramp and in the back of the store makes this store very accessible with a huge and fast elevator.

Has all kinds of stuff.. that other stores may not have.It always have helpful members/ associates/ workers who are helpful.

Is that what it is? The Safe Way? I certainly felt safe, although my mind overran with the keenest of desires to succeed. Anxiety, mental illness, spiritual gift? I do know but one truth, this life is finite, we are all going to die. Does that not make us bretheren. Does that not make us all akin to a commonality that is entirely unshakable. Be that as it may, I do not support the slaughter of Gods creatures in Mass. Safeway certainly kept me safe, from starvation, and hopelessness. Be good to yourself, unfortunately I am not able to join you in such tithings as is. I am cursed and must live according to the tithings of others, thats where my happiness lies brothers, and sisters. In yours.

The variety of seafood is awesome...

This is a super Safeway so theres fresh meats,seafood and an assortment of poke. Also its own bakery with fresh made breads,cakes,cookies and pastries. There is also a deli with meats,salads,chicken,sub station and fresh sushi. They even have a big floral section with cut flowers,plants,lei,bouquets and assorted vases and balloons. Theres also an automated post office where you can mail out parcels along with everything you need to pack it up.All of that plus a really big regular grocery store and even some tourist stuff like postcards and souvenirs. Most Fridays they have $5 deals being offered.The cashiers are friendly and helpful. Starbucks and Bank of Hawaii are located inside and there are other eateries and businesses located at the same complex.

I love Safeway genuinely. However when they put out an ad you have to buy so many of one product in order to get a discount you cant just buy 2 for six dollars. A lot of other stores allow you to just buy one for $3 rather than even having to buy two for six dollars

I discovered that they over billed me when I got home. I called them up, and while they agree I was overcharged they refuse to issue a refund unless I drive back to the store. Terrible experience.

Well be living in Waikiki for a few months and this has been the Safeway my wife and I have been to the most since moving here. The store has been clean every time weve gone and our interactions with employees have been nothing out of the ordinary.

Clean and sanitized, the fruits and vegetables remain fresh in their area, the store o really stocked and refurbished service at the bakery and deli is excellent and the atmosphere was in pleasant condition, I see nothing wrong with this establishment doing a good business with the community of which it serves.

Im super irritated at this place. I made an order that only got less than half of what I ordered. They brought the eggs but none of the other breakfast stuff, conditioner but no shampoo, and the only meat they brought was meat I rarely eat. Im using wholefoods from now on because most of the time the things they show are actually in stock. To top it off the delivery service they use has some kind of bug that showed the delivery was coming tomorrow but the delivery guy was at my door. Basically it is a dumpster fire

I like this Safeway. Its has a lot of what I need for groceries. I also love the sandwich stand. Their cookies, cakes, pies donuts area is very very good but at my age I dont eat them much but in my younger days I ate a few ofthe old fashion donuts. Great selection of frozen vegetables, produce and breads👍

Ben is bakery was awesome......not a great place to work. management confidence is low and business should be done in a aloha type of way and not just what looks good on the surface.

Easy to find what you need

Absolutely excellent deli. They serve the freshest sushi and Asian influenced food. You wouldnt expect that from a Safeway deli but this place is excellent!

I just always like shopping here. They have really good deals on Fridays, $5 day, and they usually have everything I am looking for. Just a great place.

Parking was a little tricky. Otherwise this is the best Safeway we found in the area. If we visit again, this will be the store we shop at.

Easy to see why this is their flagship store. Wide, clean aisles, friendly employees and love the self check out. This location is the best kept secret for breakfast burritos. If you have not had one, you must! Two words: Horseradish Sauce.

The staff at this store is terrible, rude, and no respect for each other. I watch 2 employees argue in the upstairs parking lot. Told them i would tell the store manager what was goiing on. One of them threatened to break my windows before i got back. Needless to say, I just left. I wont be going back there for awhile.

I usually shop at a grocery store because even though food is getting expensive, you get a better quality for a little less cash than if you were to get that product at say a convenience store like 7-11.

Wasnt to happy with last online order and pickup experience 1st of all they didnt delivery service, I had to go the store to pickup my order. Then I had to ask Customer Service Desk where do I pickup my order. I was told to call Doordash # and I had to wait for order. Finally I got my order, but it was missing my cookies which I had ordered. Ill will never reorder anything through your Safeway App again.

Nice store but crazy overpriced. Like $3 for an avocado which costs 50 cents on the mainland. For sure there are cheaper options on the island.
