Came in late for lunch on Wednesday and it was just us for most of it. The atmosphere was upscale and trendy. Our waiter John was attentive and very helpful. The menu was super easy, just the prix fixe lunch menu. The food was great! The salmon was perfectly cooked, and the yuzu salad dressing as very tasty as well. Coconut cream pie to top it all off.Really great price for the food, would definitely recommend.

Wow, such a wonderful dining experience! Not only was the ambience lush being surrounded by high end car dealerships, but the staff is very inviting and the food spectacular. The effort in each meal truly shines through, and the scallops absolutely rocked my world. This was by far the best restaurant we dined at while in Oahu, and I would definitely return. Hats off to the chef!Oh, and the cocktails were also incredible - even the non-alcoholics!!

Fantastic food, great staff, exceptional ambiance. We did the tasting menu and everything was perfectly cooked, unique, and the wine pairing went well with each dish. The entire staff at MW was attentive to all of our needs and seemed genuinely happy to be working at the establishment. Our server Kyle has been with the restaurant for over six years, even before they moved locations. Cant say enough good things about this local and family owned/run restaurant. Thank you guys!

I’ll give five start to MW Restaurant without hesitation. They contacted me frequently via text before the actual dining date to make sure everything is well-prepared. When we approached the receptionist they showing us great hospitality and welcome. We had a table with gorgeous view and they spared great spaces with each tables for COVID-19 protection. We ordered different cocktails, three appetizers and three main course, of course we can’t get rid of desert to get a happy ending.

Went 3 days ago. Reservation not easy to get. One of the few restaurants that required charge card guarantees. 48 hour cancellation. Best part about the food is they All arrived piping hot. Caesars salad was light and refreshing. Clam chowder was not too heavy. Kishii oysters were small & tasty. Hard to get small oysters in other restaurants. Paella was one of the best I tasted outside of Spain 👌

Loved our time at MW Restaurant! We sat at the bar and had Harry as our waiter. He made the best cocktails (the Georgia OKeeffe was delicious) and recommended the fish entrees (Mochi Crusted Kona Kampachi and the Dinner Teishoku AKA butterfish). They were delicious! Also, you MUST save room for dessert. The Brulee was out of this world. I would never imagine sorbet, custard, and tapicoa going together, but wow. 10/10 would recommend.

Dinner at the MW restaurant, inside the Ferrari and Bentley building, was incredible. The restaurant is situated on the second floor of the building with their waiting area doubling as an upscale place to view the newest models. The interior is classic, yet modern and upscale decor. The dishes come in the expected smaller portion sizes, but their flavor density make up for their small form factor. While we were seated much later than our reservation, due to no fault of MW, the manager Kathy helped smooth over the situation with poise. The rest of the staff was equally professional and patient with my unruly group. The meals were impeccable and each was true to description. Pictures of the items my group ordered are below and as follows:- Five Small Bites- Mochi Crusted Kona Kampachi- Mochi Crusted Mrs. Chengs Tofu- Dinner Teishoku- Lobster Scallop Medallion- Japanese A-5 Wagyu Beef- Brandt Brand Prime Grade Beef Tenderloin- Tropical Fruit Creamsicle Brulee- Smores- Banoffee- Valrona Buttermilk Chocolate Cake

What a beautiful restaurant and staff at this restaurant. The executive chefs should be commended for curating such a awesome menu and having phenomenal service here. Tried the 5 course tasting menu and for the price of $105 per person it was such a steal...the meal from beginning to end was spectacular. The meal started with a complimentary chawanmushi dish, then moved onto 5 small bites as an appetizer and a fish dish, protein and dessert. I can honestly say that every single dish stood out on their own. My favorite was the Wagyu steak dish, cooked to perfection with the right amount of flavor and seasoning. I am in love with this restaurant and will most definitely visit again. Please do plan on reserving your tables early as I could only get bar seating when I reserved a week prior.

Husband and wife team Wade Ueoka and Michelle Karr-Ueoka’s MW Restaurant, which focuses on Hawaiian regional cuisine has been one of our favorite restaurants in Honolulu. They closed their old location at the end of last year and reopened at their new location on the second floor of the Velocity Honolulu right above their more casual eatery, Artizen by MW, last night. Since I had the opportunity to attend their much anticipated soft opening, I am going to write a review in order to shed light on what to expect at their new location.Their menu has a mix of both old favorites like the mochi crusted fish as well as new items, and their five course tasting menu gives you a good sense of what to expect. It comes with an amuse bouche, a selection of five small bites, which includes items like the Kona lobster roll and the Spam Musubi, which is an upgraded version of the local snack using wagyu beef spam and comes on a mochi dango instead of a bed of rice, mochi crusted Kona Kampachi, grilled Kona lobster and Bristol Bay scallop medallion, truffle braised short rib, and tropical fruit creamsicle brûlée. They also have a wide selection of craft and classic cocktails as well as wine, beer, and nonalcoholic beverages. Their service is still exceptional and I can’t wait to go back to try everything else on their new menu, especially the strawberry shave ice!

From start to finish everything was absolutely incredible! The service was outstanding and the food was mind blowing. The attention to detail was excellent. But the food was still humble and delicious while also being fancy but not pretentious. I did the tasting menu and loved it. And very reasonably priced for what you get. I will say that it did take about 2 1/2 hours to do the five courses. So it is not a quick dinner LOL. Relax and enjoy it. One thing, I do wish they would not allow young children. There was a child crying.

MW Restaurant is another farm-to-table phenomenal foodie safe haven in Honolulu that is making such a buzz you have to go and treat yourself to a decadent meal from beginning to end.The savory local catch/grown apps & entrees, topped off with probably the most amazing desserts the island has to offer makes this restaurant the talk of the town. Please take time to look at the posted pics and really look at the love this restaurant puts into their food. The trademark of the 2 forks making an MW just shows their innovation, thoughtfulness and preparation they put into everything this restaurant has to offerThe front of the house, the bartender and most of all their attitude in delivering a wold class dining service makes MW my favorite restaurant in all of Hawaii. Chef Michelle provided the finishing-touches to see how much we enjoyed our meal. It was truly honor and pleasure to meet her!Recommendation: Shaved Ice is the best on the island. The food is delicious, portion size is good—what you’d expect from a nice restaurant in this price range. The set menus are nice if you’re pretty hungry. The atmosphere was nice and the wait was a bit long without a reservation but I’d recommend going as long as you are okay with the wait, get there before the rush, or make a reservation.

We came for lunch because their dinner reservations were all booked for the foreseeable future. I get the impression this is more of a dinner spot than lunch spot but it was delicious. The fixed 3-course lunch menu had great options and we tried to all order differently to experience everything. We especially loved the ahi nachos appetizer, oxtail stew risotto, and creme brûlée. The service was professional, and the atmosphere was clean, trendy, and comfortable. Overall, the prices were fair for the quality of food, although up-charging certain items on a fixed menu seems ironic and some of the drink prices were a bit insane ($12 for a cup of coffee??). Im a picky eater, and dont usually eat much fish but saw some of the photos and our Uber driver heard me mention it and said it was good. Like that its an open kitchen so you can see them making the food. It was unique dishes, and very delicious. The lobster with mashed potatoes did have more Lobster than it sounded like it would. Get the meat medium; medium well was pretty much well done, which is what I got. The noodles under the kampachi are cold-just FYI. The seafood chowder soup was good too. Service was good, reservations recommended. I do wish the waiter, or anyone, would have acknowledged us a little quicker than they did once we were seated. Also, he went into a lot of detail on the food and you can tell he was very knowledgeable, but wish he would have slowed down cause half the stuff he was saying I didnt have a clue. Maybe just cause its not my usual type of food, but I cant be the only one. Overall it was a good experience and I do recommend especially for those who like fish and trying new things! But even if you dont, no need to be scared! Oh, and the coffee and cream brulee was surprisingly extremely delicious. It was a early friday afternoon and had wanted to get pho but then at the last minute decided on MW since we were right next door. We have been curious to go back and give it another chance after previous mediocre experiences.I also knew that they had the happy hour special and we had arrived well before the 5pm end time. Since we did not have reservations, I asked at the podium if they could seat us and the hostess acknowledged then asked us to stand to the side. Note that the entire restaurant had two other tables of patrons and two at the bar. After a few minutes, a couple arrived and the gentleman told the hostess that he had a reservation and then they were asked to wait on the side. The hostess then escorted the couple who arrived after us to a table. I understand that we didnt have reservations but we arrived first and was still made to wait even as they had virtually the entire place to seat us?We then perused the friday menu and decided on ordering appetizers from the happy hour menu to share instead of the typical entrees. We double ordered on about 4 to 5 items since I knew the servings are very petite. The first to arrive was the kim chee pork lettuce wraps. This was a nice opening as the fresh lettuce was refreshing and light but in the back of my mind, the pork was just a hint too salty for my liking.Second appetizer was the unagi butterish arrancino which looked exactly like takoyaki served with the bonito flakes waving at the top. This was good with a nice crispy texture but I couldnt make out any butterfish texture. This was probably the best appetizer we ordered. Then came the kalua pork tacos and after a initial bite into the taco, the flavor of the pork and the extreme saltiness was apparent. I sort of waved it off not wanting to make a big deal of it but others in my group expressed the same comment and the next few bites made it even more difficult to consume the entire taco.We ordered the seafood bisque which I was told are each made to order. It came in the typical huge hubcap dish with just a small circular center for the soup. A few spoonfuls into this also revealed that it was heavy on the salt. Since the soups were ordered off the regular menu, I decided to make it known to our server who apologized and told us he would have a new batch prepared. I then also mentioned the salty tacos and his response was that kalua pork typically has a salt brine and towards the saltier side. I was all along thinking in my mind that as a local boy having eaten Kalua pork all my life never had kalua pork as salty as they were serving.Another appetizer was the scallop tempura which really are the tiny broken pieces of scallop breaded and fried. You really dont get much in this dish and although it has the taste of scallops, it is more fried breading than anything. The server then returned with the soups and it had a seafood taste with two or three tiny pieces of the scallop and two very particles of shrimp. For $9.00 each, this was not worth the price. Our server then came by and told us that they would remove the tacos from our tab since they did realize it was too salty. Note that there was another diner there that ordered the same thing and noted in her Yelp review about the saltiness. Perhaps the chef decided to take a sampling of it?The last note and one thing any restaurant should pay attention to is the patrons drinks. There was two male bus boys and my glass of water remained empty a good portion of the time were there. One of the bus person was walking throughout the tables and looking at each table but I cannot see how they missed all the empty water glasses?Sadly, this return experience was no better than my previous and will not be returning to this place anytime soon.My personal opinion is that this place is more hype than substance and there are other options in Honolulu which provide better quality and value.I am giving MW 2 stars vs 1 star since the wait service was good and the atmosphere comfortable. Sadly the food gets a 1 star.

Gave this place three tries & tonight was the last. Near-raw root vegetables swimming in a bland gravy next to a tasteless ribeye. The ribeye wasn’t trimmed so it was about 40% fat & gristle. No salt, no pepper, no basting of garlic & rosemary butter or anything flavorful like that. It (was) topped with a layer of diced, fresh parsley though - if that counts for anything. I’m done. My wife enjoys the seafood so maybe they should stick to that because their steak game is BAD!

One of the best dining experiences I’ve ever had. Big kudos to the chefs and servers for amazing food and service. I would highly recommend the boa buns and the “fried chicken” as starters. Make sure to make a reservation well in advance for this 5 star restaurant!

Very good restaurant experience, good food and service. A bit too cold/modern atmosphere compared to the expectations of Hawaii
