Very helpful staff, decent selection of skincare and makeup products as well as scents. Some items were out of stock so I had to compromise with another product, but altogether a good store.

The best part of my experience at Sephora on Monday October 25, 2021 was the help I received from Michaela. Its not always easy getting help for issues with your face from a beautiful young woman like her. The sales associate has to have a special knack for making you comfortable or you can end up feeling like an unattractive toad. Michaela was great bc she didnt make me feel self conscious when I called attention to what I always try to hide. She acknowledged my issue when I pointed it out and we moved right into finding the solution in the choice of products. Michaela was knowledgeable and honest about what I could use and what I could do without. She did not push the most expensive products. I never felt like I was being pressured. I never felt like I was spending more than I planned to spend. I spent more than I had planned to spend--and I was ok with it bc I had been given choices among the products that met my requirements--full coverage and long staying power.Michaelas own makeup was a work of art. Daring, and skillfully applied. The bold colors were not too much, but perfect way to apply her beauty to benefit the retailer. The unspoken possibility is that if you use these products you too could look like this young woman. Ok, realistically I may have to settle for not looking like a toad. LoL.I may sound overly dramatic but for those of us with skin issues, the proper application of good make up can be life changing. Michaela made me feel like she understood the lifelong difficulty I have had bc of skin issues. She helped me choose the correct products and demonstrated how to best use them so I can face people without feeling self conscious. Thank you!

Absolutely love this store, everyone is so friendly. First time coming here and I’ve never been so welcomed before. Thank you wade for helping me. I went to Ulta and they gave me a foundation 3 times darker than me. Wade helped me out quick and informed on some make up while color matching me. Hes amazing.

We were cordially greeted at the entrance and Kobe helped us. He helped us shade match and recommended us a product. Would definitely recommend and loved the service from Kobe.

They give great make up tips. My makeup was good for a moment. However, make sure you try before you buy! The eye base and shadow that I tried, creased after 2 hours.

I appreciate how the employees try to get me in and out as quickly as possible. One of the employees gave lots of suggestions and product recommendations which helped me choose out a great holiday gift as quickly as possible. Not like I was in a rush, but I like a smooth transition from browsing to purchasing. Also the employees are very friendly and down to earth!!!

Today November 4, 2020 I was squatting down where Makeup Forever Mascara was, it was on the bottom. I went to open the waterproof marked blue on the packagingAnd a guy worker he looks Filipino has told me they took out the bristles. I asked him is the mascara blue? He had said No they are all black. I also asked, What is the difference between waterproof and regular ? does waterproof hold curl longer? He then also got on my level squatting and told me waterproof is more strong and he was explaining how it is like hair gel. I said I understand and Thanked him. I know he works at Sephora long time now and he is very patient. He went above and beyond to help me and got to the level I was on to talk to me. Thank you for always being nice and helpful, I am sorry I dont know your name but I remember your face.

Employee treated me and my sister like we were criminals trying to shop lift.. It was her first time at Sephora, we were trying to get some foundation and a staff member (Laura) treated us as if we were trying to steal. It will be our first and last time purchasing at this location....

Love this place! So many top brands to try. The staff are very helpful and friendly. You earn points from purchasing items. You can sign up for updates on new products and sales. You get rewarded sample on products you purchase and free gift redemption on your birthday. Awesome!!!

It wasnt a terrible experience. The employees were polite and patient with me. I spent over $100. They knew it was my first time there and that im new to make up. I spoke with several employees. Not one asked me if I wanted a mini makeover which I now realize I could have gotten for free. I feel like the experience was lacking. If they were more willing to show me some make up on my face and how I would look, I would have left more educated. I would feel more confident about my purchase if I looked good with the makeup on. I feel unsure about the products I bought. Hope they have good return/exchange policy.

Their perfume is cheaper than Macys.

I was travelling from Australia in August and I visited the Sephora store in Ala Moana. While I was there I was served by Lucio, who was so lovely and extremely helpful! Highly recommend!

Went in for a precise item, got home and wasnt what i was wanting, was told it was new packaging at the time. Oh well. Staff very friendly though.

Im not the one that wanted to go. My wife went. Good bc she got the eyeliner that she wanted, but looks weird that Im the one who went. Ask my wife. Wasnt my choice. I promise.

From start to finish the team at Ala Moana made it a pleasant experience. At the door, I was greeted by a friendly person. She asked if it was my first time back since the pandemic. When I responded that it was, she made me aware of the changes (i.e. no testers avail). I then went to checkout, where there were floor labels reminding people to practice social distancing, I also observed that the cashiers were sanitizing the station after each customer left before calling the next in line. When it was my turn Elijah greeted me in a very friendly manner. Although I couldnt see his face due to the mask I could tell he was smiling. He mentioned the rewards program, double points, birthday gifts, etc,. I signed up and as a bonus, I received a free product since my bday us tomorrow! Thanks for the great experience and safe practices put in place to make us feel some sort of peace of mind during our shopping experience. The Ala Moana team were rockstars #nailedit!!

Well stocked. Wide variety of product from many manufacturers. Very crowded. Asked staff to hold merchandise while we met someone for lunch. Wasnt at the checkout desk when we returned.

Sephora Ala Moana is my favorite store, been coming here with my daughters for years. The staff are always beautiful, happy, friendly and knowledgeable. In my opinion, the best make-up artists at this location are Miles & Julyeth, hands down! They are just amazing, and quick, they listen & understand what look youre going for and get right to it. Were always amazed & overjoyed with the make-overs weve had with them and always refer people to request them, you should too, you wont be disappointed!

I like the selection here but popular colors sell out quicker than other locations such as Pearl Ridge, Waikiki or Kapolei. Ulta has grown all over Oahu, so well see if healthy competition will step up Sephoras complacency as no longer being the only beauty product store around.

The hydra skincare facial perk is the bomb! Leimomi initially introduced me to it the last trip I was here at Sephora and it was great so now that I needed to re-up my makeup I made another appointment and Laurie helped me this time and she was equally as fantastic. Always a good time at Sephora :)

I am a male and do not wear makeup. Yet, my friend is a female and this was her go to place for special cosmetics, brushes and perfumes. Very pricey, yet worth every dollar, for our special loved ones.

My home away from home

Staff was extremely unhelpful. Went in with some friends and was looking for some new eyeliner that could be good for sensitive eyes. As this is a concern I know more women than just me has, I was concerned when the woman I asked for help just pointed me to a counter. She didnt seem very knowledgeable and was unhelpful. I ended up leaving with nothing. In other Sephora stores, I have been helped to the extent of having too many recommendations and this was just not a great experience. I dont typically shop in Sephora as is, but this definitely made me want to take my business elsewhere.

I love going to Sephora! When I nees to replenish my skincare or makeup products I can get a free PERK facial of course with a $75 purchase. But why not get what I need and a facial as well!

Go to Pearlridge or consider Macy’s. The ladies were friendly and even gave me a proactive sample. I appreciate that they let me be when I nicely declined their help, unlike the unruly overbearing “gentleman”. The sarcastic night shift dude needs to work on his customer service and be more considerate of introvert women. Can’t tell you how many times he outspoke me. I never got my two cents in and left the store never checking out what I wanted to see.

Got a makeover, for my company holiday party, done by Helena. Ive never gotten done anything like it before, but she was so sweet and professional. Helena made me feel super glam, my makeup has never looked so flawless, and I also got compliments at the party. Loved her! Mahalo nui Helena!

Just bought two brand new Marc Jacobs mascara, only to bring them home and find them both completely dry!! This shouldnt happen. I expect more from Sephora.

Listen, I normally don’t review specific stores in a chain, but I went to this particular Sephora on a whim while visiting Honolulu with my family, and GOOD GOD. I love my skin and skincare is my hobby, to the point that I’m sometimes too adventurous in the products and procedures I’ll try to stay young (I’m looking at you micro-needling). Anyway, I stopped in the Ala Moana Sephora and was eye-balling some Drunk Elephant when the sales associate Michael came up and engaged me about DE and what my skincare concerns are. He then suggested several items from Murad - a serum, moisturizer, eye cream, chemical exfoliate, toner, etc. It’s been 3 weeks now, and at this point, I am a Murad disciple of the St. Michael order 😍 my pores have NEVER been smaller, my skin tone is perfectly even, my nose sebum is all but non-existent, my under eye crepes are gone... I could go on forever. I’ve already reviewed the product on several sites, but I just want to say THANK YOU to Michael for helping me, I feel like it was kismet and he deserves a BONUS AND A RAISE. Is he an esthetician? He’s amazing. Give him the store jfc

Every makeup sales person was nice and not overbearing. The Fenty line is amazing.

Understandably pricey makeup. I went here to find an eyeliner that would actually cooperate with my skin type. I asked one employee about recommendations, and she just directed me to the Sephora Faves eyeliner thingy. The cashier was a lot better. I asked if Stila was good for combination skin, and she said it was really good for any skin. She even gave me a sample wipe for skin thats prone to blemishing. (I dont remember exactly what the packet read.) The cashier was right about Stila, and adding skin to any topic automatically makes it weirder.

The staff member helping was not knowledgeable and ignorant. I wanted to purchase a powder brush, so I grabbed one, the last one. Took the brush to the counter to pay for it and was told I couldnt have it because it was the sample brush. Fair enough. So an associate was to help me find an alternative. When I showed her what I originally wanted, she said oh, thats not a powder brush, thats a foundation brush. The brush holder said powder brush. And I showed her. Then she said no its not really. It works better for liquids. WTH? I was totally blown away by her basically lying to my face and getting offended when I questioned it. So I went across the walkway to MAC. At least they know what theyre talking about and can read.

I like how they recommend products from all the brands in the store. I went into Nordstrom and some workers appear to only sell for their specific brand.I like their mini lessons and their mini gifts for your birthday.I hate how literally all the workers ignore you on a very non busy weekday when youre bare faced.Also, the store appears to be a little unsanitary.

Came in around 4pm today-Thursday. Not excessively busy in there however there were many employees all over the place chit chatting with one another. Not one employee asked if I needed help finding anything? Or even spoke to me? The one worker I did stop to ask a question acted as though I was really putting her out with my inquiry. Sadly I wont be shopping this location again.

The employees at this location were incredibly rude. they didn’t show any interest in helping me with looking for what i wanted and showed no hospitality what so ever. they only asked if i needed help because they HAD to, not because they WANTED to & it shows. there’s a difference. they looked at me and my appearance and they didn’t take me seriously at all. and when i was checking out, it seemed as if the employees were laughing at me because of what i chose to buy. i don’t know what their problem is or how their management system works, but something NEEDS to change because it was a completely awful experience. i HIGHLY recommend y’all visit the Sephora at Kamakana Mall in Kapolei. I always have an amazing experience there with help and services. The Sephora at Ala Moana is a no go for me, and this has happened to me onmultiple occasions i visited this store.

Staff is hit or miss usually; product selection is good. Today, however, I had the unfortunate experience of beginning the PERK treatment. Where shall I begin?I saw the machine and it looked simple enough, however the cup was nasty like it hadnt been cleaned before me and I figured she would change it out before she set it up for me; nope. Also, nothing was set up for my appointment. The bowls in which she put water and cleanser in were not clean (found this out later from friend). There were no gloves on my specialist and she had at least 3 bandaids on her hands with what looked like day old cuts still hanging out. I had a lot of anxiety over how things were being handled and my licensed esthetician friend was with me and similarly disgusted. When the specialist cleansed my face it wasnt with gloves and didnt seem in the least sanitary and I felt like there wasnt enough care to try to be sanitary. I ended up cancelling it after the cleanse and before she set into working the Perk machine because I couldnt imagine what else hadnt been sanitized or cleaned properly. Also, when asked about licensing or training, the response was Ive worked at Sephora for 10 years and receive training from the brands. Umm, sorry, I dont recommend doing a Perk facial here.

Good location, but BEWARE. On the way home TSA Precheck held me up. What item held me up you may ask? It was the sephora items! Just be careful what you bring back home from here, most items will be good, but some will set of TSAs alarms!
