This was one of the best services Ive ever received. The folks at Auto Pro not only referred me to an excellent tow service (D&M) but had already picked up a new alternator based upon my diagnosis of the problem. The Auto Pro staff were breaking down and installing the new alternator and belt before I had finished paying the tow driver! This happened on our vacation and I was expecting not to have a vehicle for several days. All in all, my truck was dead no more than two hours. These folks are great! I was also very pleased with the charges. They made a bad situation work out wonderfully!

Bill was Great! My sons Dodge Charger was running hot while on vacation. He was already extremely busy, but checked over it thoroughly, gave us the problems, showed us all areas and guided us on how to handle so that we could make it home. We have a warranty that will cover it and he would not accept money from us. I would recommend this shop to anyone. Very professional and thorough.

We are on vacation in HH. I got my check engine light on. My truck started to overheat called multiple places and everyone was busy. I came across Auto Pro the owner said bring the truck in he fixed it in a few minutes and was super nice to us. Will recommend this place alot. Bill is very amicable and knows his stuff. My dad has come to Auto Pro since before I had a license.! He got propane and automotive work done by the Auto Pro team and has always had a great experience there, fast forward to now; I’ve gone to auto pro once so far to get a nail out of my tire, they were closing the shop and still took me in and fixed my problem in the matter of minutes. I haven’t had a problem with the tire since. Today I’ll be taking my car in for an alignment that NTB on the island was unable to do.. I was starting a long trip to PA at 6:30am when the car wouldn’t start. The AAA technician knew there would be a problem simply jumping or replacing the battery due to corrosion (xtra shout out to Shelly at AAA) so he called Bill who agreed to take me immediately. I was done and on my way by 9:30am even though it took almost 1/2 hour to get the old battery out. He even made sure to check and too off all my fluid levels. Can’t say enough good things about this shop!

Awesome service. Worked me in on a Monday when they were super busy to diagnose and fix an engine misfire. Had it done in a few hours. They Got me fixed up so my family could get home. Appreciate them greatly and big recommend for anyone looking for service.

Ive had my starter replaced by them only for it to go out exactly 1 year later. Ive also had my entire power steering redone by these guys just for it to break a year and a half later. This guy doesnt buy brand new parts for your vehicles. He buys old an used parts.

My wife and I arrived in Hilton Head on Saturday, they came out about an for our vacation/anniversary. After checking into resort and unloading vehicle, we went shopping at Piggly Wiggly in Coligny S/C. Came out put groceries in vehicle, got in and pressed star button, and it would not start. The battery was only 3 months old. Called AAA, they came out about and hour and a half later. The driver tried jumping it off, but was not successful after trying for about forty five minutes. He said it may be the starter gone bad. Had frozen goods in vehicle. The AAA driver said to call AAA back and have them to send wrecker which would have a more powerful battery. AAA said they could not give a specific time when the wrecker would arrive. My wife has cancer and after the 6 hour ride from Charlotte, she started feeling bad. Had to call an Uber for her to get her and the groceries back to the resort. I waited for the AAA wrecker. After an hour had gone by I called my wife to have her to call AAA to get an arrival time. I only had 3% battery life left on my cell phone. She called back an told me that AAA could not give her a time. I ended up call 911 to get a ride back to the resort. A sheriff deputy was dispatched and he gave me a ride back to the resort. My wife told me that AAA called her back and told her they did not have a driver available to help me. I not for the sheriff deputy I would have had to spend the night in the vehicle in the Piggly Wiggly lot. One employee did attempt to jump start me.The next afternoon my wife and I rode bicycles back to the parking lot and low and behold the vehicle started. We were able to get it back to the resort. I went on line Monday morning to find a local auto repair shop and found Auto Pro. I called and left a voice message, like I did at two other shops. Auto Pro returned my call and gave me a 1 oclock appointment. I drove to their location, which was easy to find and they were quick to diagnose the problem. The technician came in, handed me the key and told me that the problem was a loose battery connection (the vehicle is a 2013 Infinity QX56). He said you are all set and should not have any problems and said have a nice day.This was the perfect opportunity for a dishonest shop to take advantage of an out-of-towner on vacation. I was looking to pay anywhere from $200 - $500 for a starter or alternator. For anyone who reads this review and are in the Hilton Head area and are in need of an auto technician, I highly recommend Auto Pro on 278, across from Walmart. This is where I will be going when I am in Hilton Head and have any issues with my automobile. The entire staff is exceptionally friendly. You will also enjoy reading all of the items they have collected and are posted on the walls.

Our car would not start while we were on vacation with 3 other women. We called Auto Pro, had the car jumped off and proceeded there. They diagnosed a bad alternator, replaced it and had us on our way within 1.5 hours. Entire staff ( including Miss Cat) was very nice, friendly and helpful. Great job at a fair price. I arrived in Hilton Head with my car pulling severely to the left side. I was unfamiliar with repair places so I checked online. Auto Pro had great reviews and it was a few miles from where we were staying. I took my car in on Monday morning and I was afraid that I was going to need expensive repairs. I received a call from Auto Pro telling me that all I needed was new tires. I was back on the road on Monday afternoon and the car is driving great. I drove up to the island from Jacksonville, FL to visit family this week and as soon as I turned off 95 onto 278 realized my car was pulling hard to the left. I was only here for a short visit so called around asking for help to get the issue fixed quickly and Auto Pro told me to bring the vehicle in and they would take care of me right away. They got my car up on a lift and diagnosed and fixed the issue within an hour, and charged me an incredibly fair price for doing so. This is a family owned and operated business, and as a fellow small family run business owner I have the greatest appreciation for someone providing a fair and honest service and helping me out in a time of need. Great place. Great service. Owner knew exactly what was wrong with our failing air conditioner in our minivan over the phone and it was confirmed by his tech 10 minutes after we arrived at the shop. I have been a customer for a few years now, and would never take my car anywhere else. Honest, fair, qualified and accountable are not usually words you associate with a mechanic! But that has been my experience! There have been times when I know I could have been charged more for the labor, but Bill and his team are so knowledgeable and they run their shop with such efficiency that they can get it done in half the time. My wife and I just got to Hilton Head Island from VA. We had car problems coming down. We made it but I knew I needed to find a mechanic as soon as I got to our destination. Well, we were blessed finding probably one of the best repair shops in Hilton Head Island. They were highly recommended to us and we clearly see why they were. Im from Nashville, TN and broke down yesterday just getting into Hilton Head. My car overheated and we got it started but wanted to get it checked out before we got back on the road. The gas station attendants down the road recommended Auto Pro and Im so glad we went there. As expected, a tourist town mechanic is going to be busy - but they had no trouble taking a bit of time to do a quick run through of my car and assuring me it was safe to drive on. They were kind, quick, and honest. Very rare when it comes to car service. I cant speak on getting work done with them, but would definitely go to them again.

Outstanding! The owner Bill is a no nonsense guy who knows cars. My rear AC hoses broke leaving me with a hot van in the middle of July with 3 days left on the island. Bill diagnosed the problem, ordered the parts, and had it fixed in less than two days giving me a cool van for the trip home at a reasonable price. If your car breaks while at Hilton Head, take it to Auto Pro.

If the words technical expert at a great value are important to you(if not, stop reading and give your AMEX number on the web) then you have found your place. In the last 8 years, I have brought Bill a bad water pump, an inop alternator, a broken shock spring as I was l leaving on a trip, and this week I limped my MR2 into there with a hope and a prayer that it was just a fuel pump. Each and every occasion Bill explained the good and the bad all the while keeping me updated on the status. During troubleshooting sometimes he discovers that he didn’t need all the parts he ordered as a preventative measure. Does he just install them? No, he kindly returns them on his own time at no charge to you.Dropping your car off at times can be a scary proposition in today’s financial climate. However, you can rest assured that Bill, Maddie and the entire Auto Pro team are going to do their very best to quickly repair your vehicle safely and the most reasonable expense possible.My only regret is that it took me 12 years here before being referred by a trusted family friend.I always drive away with the confidence that my family and I are leaving in a repaired, safe, mechanically sound vehicle.Thanks so much!!

My Volkswagen has an electronic parking brake and requires a special computer software in order to change the rear brake pads. After the VW dealership told me that I needed 4 new brakes and rotors, at a ridiculous price, I called Auto Pro and talked to the owner, Bill. He told me that he has worked on these before and to bring it by. Turns out that I only needed new brakes and rotors on the rear tires. I will now be driving the hour drive each way to get any kind of service done on my vehicles. It is hard to find a honest mechanic who didnt try to sell me on services and parts that I didnt need. We are from Florida and broke down in Hilton Head. Ended up having Auto Pro take a look at the vehicle. Found out that the owner had worked for Chrysler for decades. We thought we needed to replace the water pump and expected approximately $300 in repairs and labor. These guys are soooo honest!! Explained that our water pump was practically new and it was not the problem but another small issue. Not only did they repair it for us within about a half hour of us arriving, but explained everything, did some troubleshooting regarding a couple other issues and charged us $20!!! Unbelievably honest and nice people here!! Told my husband I wanted to move here because a good mechanic and an HONEST one is sooo hard to come by :)

I was lucky enough to stumble across Bill and the crew at Autopro of Hilton Head while on a recent trip with my family to the Island from the Chicago area. As luck would have it, our air conditioning in my suburban had failed about 200 miles out in the worst Saturday traffic onto the island in 95 degree heat. After assessing myself and knowing the problem, I sought out someone who I could trust and who would take care of the problem appropriately and honestly. As luck had it, I called Bill and his personality immediately clicked over the phone and I knew he was the guy I wanted to take my truck. Drop off was simple and he literally dropped what he was doing to write me up a quick estimate and a very fair price. Fast forward 7 hours later SAME DAY and I drove away with ice cold A/C. I was incredibly satisfied with the service and quality and hope more people in my situation can heed my advice and visit the AutoPro of Hilton Head shop if you ever find yourself in a similar automotive pickle of sorts on vacation.
