Youll probably be able to find what you need here, but in a limited selection. They do have a great variety of things, and the prices are decent. The staff is friendly and helpful. Parking is limited so you may have to go around the block once.

Ace is the place to get what you need fast. In and out without having to deal with home improvement store crouds. Most prices are reasonable. Some are pretty outrageous. When of the downsides of choosing to live in the middle of the ocean on a little rock with a big, grumpy, volcano.

A little overpriced but worth it being conveniently located in downtown Hilo. They carry all the basic stuff a small hardware usually would have with a huge selection of nut, bolts, and other hardware. The staff here are always helpful and polite.They also sell Monster energy drinks!

Sad that Hilo Ace wont honor the craftsman LIFETIME WARRANTY....I was told that i have to have a receipt. Its craftsman look online..... craftsman retailers have to honor the warranty very disappointing.

I spent about 15 minutes in the store today because as I walked in a team member asked if he could help. Yeah; thats quality customer service.

Great Customer Service! We were having difficulty getting a extra set of keys to work both the ignition and lock car doors. They were very persistent. After several attempts by staff. Success ceased the day. We were very grateful.

Well for one the cashier not friendly at all and my change she didnt hand it to me she more like trough it on the counter change I had to pick it all up I wanted to just leave it but not the bills

They didn’t even look for the part they just told me they didn’t have it and then when I told them the size before I was even done talking he cut me off and said they didn’t have it. Very rude. The store that still has everything! They sell a little bit of everything ......even hard to find parts that enable you to repair instead of replace. Service & friendly associates are still a priority at Ace. Our local Ace hardware where I previously lived closed a few years back. It was greatly missed AFTER it was gone. I was so happy to see Hilo still has an Ace Hardware. Service is far better than at the big box stores.

This ACE had damn near everything in stock that a couple other ones just never seem to have. Theyre still renovating atm (12/29/18) but Im sure theyll be back in full form pretty soon. My only complaint is their assortment of tension springs. Ive had to use the universal ones to do some repairs.

We were helped by Josh who was very knowledgeable. We explained what we wanted and he knew just where everything was located in the store. We were in and out in just a few minutes. The store was easy to find and easy to get in and out of. Parking was also easy to negotiate.

Proving that you dont have to be big box to be helpful. They likely have what you need, because they know what their local customers need and they dont have room for rarely requested aisle cluttering items. Staff is very knowledgeable, friendly and helpful.

They have moved a couple of blocks. Parking is an issue now but if you cant find something at Walmart or Home Depot, they probably have it. If not, its not on the island.

Entrance is on the side with another parking lot. Has many hardware items for a midsize store. Helpful employees.

They are renovating right now, so you have to enter through the back door. You can park in the back, but the driveway is only wide enough for one car. As people were trying to drive in, others were driving out, causing the other drivers to have to reverse out to let the others go. I also went online to check for an item in their store before driving there. The item I needed was listed as being in stock for that store, but when I got there, they dont even carry it. I asked someone for help, but she just said they dont carry it, and told me where to look, for the same brand name, but not that item. She walked away very quickly. She didnt offer to help find something comparable, no one offered help, although an associate came to the same aisle I was in twice. Im used to getting better service from this Ace. I must say, today I was disappointed.

Great local hardware store with a wide selection of products suited for the island and its climate.

I must say that there has never been any qualms when it comes to shopping at Ace Hilo and Keaau as well. The staff is always ready with a smile and the level of courtesy they show always leaves me smiling and without sounding cheesy, it gives me the warm fuzzies. I am critical of customer service, after working in various aspects and at all levels over 30+ years. The consistency in my experiences at Ace have been whats kept and will keep me returning.
