Best shop of its kind no doubt about it! Sean & Ashley are second to none when it comes to creative flavors. The dary & gluten-free options are so delicious it makes you wonder why you would ever want milk or wheat in a product of that kind. 100% recommend, do not miss any opportunity you may have to go and enjoy Nicoco!

Great vegan ice cream place. The ice cream is super sweet, rich, and creamy. Except for a hint of coconut you couldnt tell that it was vegan ice cream. The waffle cone is homemade and tastes great. The only issues were it melted very fast making it messy and could be a bit too sweet for some people. But if you are in Hilo looking for vegan ice cream or just a sweet treat this is a good place to go!

I read a negative review that the prices were not proportionate to the serving size. My family and I went and the prices were very fair. I got a triple scoop in a waffle cone (for $8) which I thought was more than fair (even if we were on the main land). Service was great, prices were great and flavors were amazing!

What the great stop and fantastic find! 100% vegan, organic and gluten free... What? It was incredible and there selection of flavors, amazing! The two owners who are usually there were so incredibly welcoming, friendly and informative. But, honestly the best part may have been there two gorgeous white Siberian Huskies Nicoco and Yoko! This is a must stop in Hilo if youre graving something sweet... Try the affogato!

The shop was super cute and the gelato was perfect. I highly suggest the coconut whipped cream. If the owners are there then youre in for a treat, because theyre genuinely nice and their dogs are soft, fluffy, and sweet.

This place rocks! We discovered Nicoco’s at Uncle Robert’s Awa Bar and visited the Hilo location 3 more times during the rest of our vacation. Great locally-inspired flavors, generous portions and very friendly owners and staff.

Walking in here was like walking into some other world. The colors are soft and the space is open and relaxing. We loved just being in here as much as we loved the gelato! Highly recommend the gelato, too. It was incredible. I wouldnt miss your chance to try some.

We love nicoco! Always the best flavors and their cookie dough is yummy! We go to both the one in pahoa and hilo, the hilo location has more flavors usually. Its my daughters favoritr apot and aesthetic. The cones are made right in front of ya too 🍦😍💗🌈

I think it is so amazing that there able to make everything gluten free and vegan yet sill have an amazing flavor and texture. My family ate here three nights in a row just because we just couldn’t get enough. The GF ice cream cones are made right in front of you so there warm so delicious to eat. When I go back to Hawaii this is the first place I will be! If you get a chance you have to stop by. The people working there we’re so friendly and welcoming.

The affogato was out of this world! The espresso was delicious! Im not a gelato fan, but the chocolate trifecta was incredible! The combination of espresso and gelato was, basically, a pretty darn good mocha! The server was super friendly and nice. Loved everything about this place! Highly recommend!

Nicoco Gelato has gotta be one of the best vegan gelatos out there. Chocolate Jasmine, Rose Cardamom, Golden Mac Nut, Pistachio, Chocolate Sea Salt, etc., etc. Seems like they are always concocting new flavors... The gelato is coconut based and they offer kombucha floats as well.

I spent months on the big island and after months of being back on the mainland here i am trying to order nicoco to get shipped 2,000 miles.... it’s literally that good. nothing like it in the world! seriously!

This place has the BEST gelato!!! Hands down! The fact that it’s vegan, soy free & gluten free and still tastes amazing, is impressive! Every flavor is unique and absolutely delicious. Even if you’re not vegan, this ice cream will not disappoint. It’s honestly better. The staff is always so friendly and the atmosphere in Nicoco is great! If you’re on the Big Island, you should definitely check this place out!

Stopped by during a walk around the neighborhood and the gelato was fabulous! I tried a cone with white pinapple and chocolate bourbon. The owner was very friendly and welcomed me to the big Island. Definitely going back!

I had my first scoop today! Nicoco makes truly delicious, creamy coconut milk based ice cream using ingredients from the island. I also love that they don t use plastic in their store! One of my criteria for food establishments that I patronize is that they have low or no plastic use. Go enjoy some exceptional ice cream and know that your dollars are supporting a vision for a healthy, sustainable big island!

Absolutely the best gelato ever! Unusual flavors created totally vegan. Every day is a different selection and every day is a unique flavor sensation!

Love this place. I’m very sensitive to dairy so I’m glad that there is this place as an alternative since it’s all made from a coconut milk base. The small is $4 and they give you a decent amount. For someone like me who just wants a little something sweet after dinner, they even have a half of a small for $2.

This is some of the best gelato I’ve ever had- so creamy and rich it’s hard to believe it’s vegan. Interesting and delicious flavor combinations. I had chocolate sea salt, bourbon, coconut, and rose cardamom in a freshly made gluten free cone and it was crazy good 😋

Loved the unique flavors. Could have been a little but bigger in their portions, but it was rich so more wouldve been too much.

I very rarely partake in any kind of dessert. Nicoco gelato is something that I have a hard time passing up. They have unique and interesting flavor combinations. The quality ingredients are very apparent. You will not be disappointed.

The ice cream is just marvellous and the flavors are extremely creative and change often. I love the floral flavors, they are very unique. Best ice cream I had in Hawaii. On top of that, Nico is just the nicest guy and gives you advice on what to visit in the Hilo area. Definately worth a visit if you are in Hilo.
