Great local hardware store. Awesome staff.
This is one of my all time favorite hardware stores. They actually let you look and dont bother you. Yet theyre ready to assist if you need help.
These guys know their stuff. Got what you need. My go to place, Support the local stores
Local business. Staff well knowledgeable.
Excellent place to find the things you will not find in lowes and home depot. A true engineers resource. Prices are fair, staff is friendly and helpful, rare items (nuts, bolts, washers, electrical components and tools, construction items, household repair, and so.much more. I hope this store is always around especially since the fall of radio shack.
Grea, friendly, helpful, local business!! They have a LOT of stock! Ill go there much more over the big box stores. #shoplocal
Good place to pick up something quickly. Friendly staff!!
Excellent place. They carry what the big box stores do not and at a fraction of the price. I always go there first.
Super friendly staff, very helpful and attentive, surprised by the selection of goods, got several things that Ive had in my mind but keep forgetting to get out run out of time trying to find at the big stores.

Dont have filters I needed ok prices
Personnel are very helpful in finding what you need for a job.
Best place EVER! Great service and a REAL hardware store - 5+ stars.
Local hardware stores absolutely need to excel at great service and at least on my one visit they did not. I was ignored when i entered the store and then had to look for someone who could assist me. Since everyone that works there wears street clothes I had to just figure out who worked there and might could help on my own. After finding someone, I believe the owner, and asking for help he told me I had to go up front for what I was needing without giving clear direction exactly what he meant by up front. A more personable and helpful help would had been for him to say something like: Sure we will be glad to help you with that. Hey person running the register please help this gentleman with this. All I wanted was a lawn mower blade sharpened. I was told it could be 5 days before its ready. I worked for a hardware store for six years. Sharpening lawn mower blades doesnt require that much skill. With a grinder, which I am sure they have, it can be done in five minutes. At the store I worked for, half of the employees were trained on how to sharpen a blade. Obviously this store only trust their small engine mechanic for this task which severely hinders turn-around. Bottom line is I know how important excellent service is for local hardware stores and Southside whiffed it on just about every level.
Great Hometown experience
First time here and I loved the place. Help as soon as I walked in the door to find what I needed
I just love doing business with this local hardware store. They always have what I need. Even if I dont know what I need, their knowledgeable staff fixes me up every time. They always make sure I have everything I need and know how to use what I bought. You cant get this kind of service at the big box stores. Shop local and keep these fine people in business forever!
Great staff
RUDE! I Cant wear a mask due to health reasons which is no ones business but Southside went above and beyond to show there displeasure because I had no mask..The old man approached and said Wheres your mask I simply said I dont have a mask and cannot wear one. The man then stared at me with disgust and said what do you want.. I said some caulk and pavement cleaner sir. He said over there pointed and walked off...
Very helpful people.
Very Professional employees they know there Products.
Best place to purchase all of your hardware needs... Courteous, knowledgeable and friendly
The most helpful hardware store Ive ever been to. They have everything you need with the southern hospitality were known for.
I went there a week ago to get a particular item there response was yeah were sold out of that item, I sat in there parking lot and ordered the item from Amazon, should have saved my gas
They have just what I need every time and the staff go out of their way to help you find the right items.
I was looking for a particular item. Southside had it when nobody else did. A little far from my home, but in this case, worth the trip.
My family and I have been doing business with these guys since I can remember. Weve gotten everything from the big stuff, chainsaws, leaf blowers, grills, ice cream makers, to the small stuff, plumbing supplies, screws, nuts, bolts, fertilizers, animal control, all kinds of paints, and we have never been let down.I am a big believer in supporting local business and these guys are worth supporting! Fixing to go up there now and get an oil cap for a chainsaw that I bought from them and my idiot self tightened it to the point of breaking the cap.Short: Good people, good popcorn!
Very interesting place. They have hardware products that havent been used in a long time. If you cant find something you need you should definitely check that place out.
All nice people with good customer care, I love to refill propane here .😍🥰

Great place to shop andthe people are friendly and knowledgeable
Great staff friendly find what Im looking for everytime
For years I have done business with Southside Hardware, and always saved a lot of time. The staff is always friendly and very knowledgeable. Strongly recommend driving past Wally World and cut 30 minutes off your time. With me, time is money, to save thirty cents and take 30 minutes to save it, is absurd. Always in and out with these guys and gals too. Say hi to Jeff and or Paul and tell them Toby from Bounces To Go, said Hi........
Always very helpful! I must admit that I am typically lost in a hardware store, but they greet you the minute you walk in the store and are genuinely happy to assist you in any way!
Love this place. They always have just I need. Think nobodys got it. Go pay them a visit
Always great! The staff has been helpful every time Ive gone there...and Ive been going for over 20 years. Stop by!

Good place an good people
Great local folk providing excellent service.
Either there is a huge misunderstanding on my part or southside hardware is ripping people off. I went in to get a propane tank filled, it was not completely empty and may have took $15-$20 to top off, but they tell me I will have to pay what it would cost if it were completely empty which is about $30, because they do not sell it by the gallon, I said, I will just go where I usually go because Im not paying for the full tank when my tank is not completely empty, knowing that the guy I normally go to was probably already closed, thats why I went to southside in the first place. I was ready to leave because I thought if thats the way they do it, I will go elsewhere, my money comes too hard to give them double for what I need, but the guy tells me hell come look at it and hes asking me what do I need it for, do I cook with it or what, like that was any of his business, but I told him, I do kettle corn, I am a kettle corn vendor and I work thru the week in a office and cant usually get to them or the other guy I go to before each of them close, I do events a lot of weekends, so I try to go get my tank topped off after several small events or one large event, which I had had the weekend before at the Asheboro fall festival which is a 2 day event, I dont want to get out in the middle of a event and run out of propane and unfortunately there is no gage to tell me how much is left and I cant really tell by picking it up as far as weight, and I dont have another tank, thats why I bought a 40lb tank in the first place, so I just go to get it filled when it is convenient because I am very busy and I have to do it when I have an opportunity, so I wont run out in the middle of an event. It really struck me as odd because its like going to the last gas station for hundreds of miles and knowing you have a half of tank of gas, but if you dont go ahead and get it filled, you wont make it to the next one, but the attendant tells you, you have to pay what it would be if you had an empty tank, so you have to pay$50 rather than the $25 you really need, thats ripping people off, but I call back to southside just to explain my situation and try to make some sense of it and they tell me its a state regulation and they could lose their license, I want to know what state regulation gives a business the right to charge people for more than what they need and how many people that heat or cook with propane wait till theyre completely empty and risk running out in the middle of cooking or having to go a night without heat because they cannot pay the cost as if they have a completely empty tank when they only need a partial amount to top it off. I am known for seeing a completely different interpretation than what people mean sometime, but if they are charging people for what a 20lb, 40lb, or 100lb tank would cost if it were empty and that is not needed to top it off, then they must have a state regulation to rip people off. Please tell me, this is not the case with southside, because I dont want to believe a good hometown business is ripping people off and if they are, I will never purchase anything there again.
They didnt have the hardware parts I need so they sent me to a man in Greensboro that ripped me off
Always helpful and great customer service
Great hardware store but not much as locksmiths
I believe this is the only hardware store on South Main Street, High Point. Even though its small, but it carries some parts that the big hardware stores dont carry.
Very helpful and friendly.
