Best mechanic on LI. Ive been going here for years and Bob always takes great care of me and my jeep. Bob is the best! 10/10
[[EDIT: Took my car back in for a clutch problem months ago. Was told to pick it up at X time. I was walking from the next town over to pick my car up at the specified time and got a call/was told it wouldnt be ready, that they hit a snag. So I turned around and walked home, but about 20 minutes later got a call back: they figured it out, so I walked back again. They explained they had to finegle the throw out bearing because it wasnt clearing something in the clutch, but that they got it, and charged me $850. Well, as soon as I drove out of the parking lot I noticed grinding noises from the clutch when under load whenever I reached 3.5k RPM or when I changed gear.. I took it back the next day and they said there was a problem with the master & slave cylinder now, and took my car back in. Second time I went to pick it up, after the $350 master/slave cylinder replacement (now encroaching on $1,200 total for my car to be fixed), it still made the grinding noise from the clutch when changing gears and while at middle-range RPM. Brought it back again (a third time) and Bob said they didnt hear anything, and returned my car. Sure enough, I still heard it so I went back a 4th and last time. He had his mechanic (Mario?) drive around the block with me and he pretended to not hear the noise at first. Then he said he does hear it actually, but its just my old cars body rattle. So I said why would my car make body rattle only after they took and returned my car, and why is it coming from the clutch area and only under (recreatable) circumstances related to when the clutch is under load? He (Mario?) then tried to say it was my header and there was nothing they can do. To this day my car still makes awful noises from the clutch that I need to get fixed. I wouldnt consider Clover ever again. Really a shame as I used to tip well and would give Bob small gifts upon pick-up of my car. Really not sure what caused the shift in how they run things.]]Old school – hard working, knowledgeable, quick service, fair. Bob has always done me and my 97 Miata right. Im happy I found Clover, Im a repeat visitor for all my car needs lately. I would recommend Clover auto to a friend.

Brought my Chevy in for a motor job, $2500 later engine ticks and still leaking still there, brought it to another mechanic where he took apart all over again and found pistons, and valves had carbon buildup parts were never replaced $1500 later from second mechanic car is running great, do not go to clover between the attitude from Bob and the aggravation of service is not performed properly you dont need the aggravation
Very honest mechanic that doesnt try to sell you services you dont need.

It was recommended that I bring my 1978 VW Transporter 11 (Bus) to this business to have the factory A/C repaired . I called a Bob Sweeney the Proprietor and he told me to bring the vehicle to his facility Monday 8Am. That was prior to the weekend before that Monday. His business is a distance from my home and in order to get back home I had to take two trains. When I brought the vehicle to him I told him prior on the telepehone the vehicle might be one of the nicest specimens hes seen and as I said that he slightly and sarcastically scoffed. I let that go and when I arrived he then mildly agreed with me not wanting to seem too much in agreement. When checking the vehicle in with me he stated and I paraphrase I guess because of your age you need the A/C I have a sense of humor and enjoy kidding with people but people who I actually know and not someone who wants to make a living on me and has never met me. He then went on to tell me how good he was and experienced with vehicles like mine. Bragadocious in nature until I asked a few follow up questions by telephone. It was obvious he was bothered with a few calls I made one was where the car would be stored when not being worked on and to follow up with a correct contact number. I suppose he doesnt like questions.Prior to leaving I asked him when he would get to the vehicle because I didnt want it sitting there too long and he stated maybe tomorrow in the afternoon So the first thing I thought was what was I doing there today then?!When I called him the next day with my contact info and asked him a question he said in essence come and get your car Im not going to work on it. Very nice huh? Very professional.I dont know what kind of work he does. I have spent my life in Health Care and I can tell you that a good Doctor has good bedside manners. A good Automobile Technician should have the same. Based upon that I would go elsewhere.
Quick and inexpensive
Bob is Very nice and knowledgeable
