Excellent place to get groceries at a great price. Large store. Spacious aisles. Great variety. Usually have excellent clearance for better deals. All self checkout lanes now. Usually fairly crowded but they also allow online orders and curbside pick up at this location now so its extremely convenient. Definitely best place to shop to save money on your weekly food budget.

I want to take a moment to rave a little on the young lady and young man that loaded our groceries into our vehicle today.I use the grocery pick up option weekly and nearly every time, I’ve lost an item or two trying to get my groceries out of the back, but nothing today! It was a pleasant surprise to see that these two individuals took the time and care to put heavier, solid items at the gate to keep from our bagged groceries rolling all over 🥰I’m not sure of their names, but I hope they see this so I can say, THANK YOU! Thank you for taking that extra moment to care enough!

I love being able to go online and pay for my groceries and then just pull up and have them bring my stuff to the car... The only thing I dont like is they always seem to be out of the things I need more than 1 or 2 of... Also, I know you can get substitution items for the things they may be out of but when I called to the store to have an item substituted because they were out, the guy that answered the phone said they didnt do that and never have...when they DO....

I was very disappointed that this Walmart has gone to self checkout only. The store itself is fine but I dont think its fair to expect your customers to check themselves out.

Pretty nice, the self checkout was pretty sizable and you had plenty of places to set your groceries whike bagging them. Establishment was clean and the employees were nice. The only things to keep it from 5 stars, is that almost every isle had people stocking and blocking the isle, typical for a walmart, and I forgot a cart and there was no way to quickly exit except for walking across the store and then through the self checkout in order just to grab a cart. Other than those two things, the place was delightful.

Changed from a 5 to a 2.The online pick up is great, they are very efficient, the two stars are for them alone,they would have had zero stars without that. Zero stars for switching to strictly self check out, no one is paying me to scan my own items and bag them, at least give me the option.

It is all self check out. When they give me a discount I wont have a problem with doing it myself but until then Ill not go back.

Its Walmart grocery. If I wanted to check out groceries, Id get a job as a cashier. There was a problem with over scanning a product. Turned on the call button and stood right next to 3 associates with no one offering assistance. Then got to the pay option and after putting in my card and that not working properly. Not just once, not twice, not even 3 times did it give an error message. Again same 3 associates standing about 2 feet away and no one offering assistance.

This Walmart Neighborhood Market is a pretty good place to good. The self checkout here is better than the one in Granite Falls because of the fact there are more of them.

Have to do everything for yourself. Dont even stock the shelves, had to get items off the handcarts. They have employees but evidently dont want them helping customers. Why hire and pay employees not to do anything but stand around.

Had no problem except not enough cashiers

The employee from the pharmacy was extremely helpful in finding the product I wanted. However trying to check out was a bit more troubling. This store provides no checkout personnel, only self service registers. My one item was in a secured box and there was a lady available to remove the product.My problem is self checkout which does not provide a discount for doing Walmarts work. In addition Walmart does not allow people who are out of work a chance at a job. With the pandemic I am sure there are lots of people who would love to have a job.You can find the product(s) you are looking for but it is a pain to pay and get out the door.

Have to ring up and pack your own stuff. If you have to do all the work they should reduced the prices more. Dont advise major shopping.

We decided to try out this Walmart location due to the one in Granite Falls never has shelves stocked. The store is not clean inside or out. Never have enough people running a cash register. If your lucky you might find a person in a yellow vest to open a register and sometimes that dont happen. All shoppers dont do self checkout. The Walmart Neighborhood store was clean outside the store and the inside was clean and smelled clean. Product was fresh the meat was pretty and red not gray. Great selections of Specialty foods gluten free and sugar free . Kim the lady that checked us out was nice and polite. I let her know how clean the store was how they had a great selection of food productsOverall Great experience and I will be shopping at this location again.

Picked up some groceries everything was stocked. Great air-conditioning l need that.

I am able to get in and out quick tbanks to the added self checkout stations.

Wow.. come on now. Why make your store more confusing. Went in for groceries, once to the paying areas. OMG! everyone look confused I even went to the wrong line trying to pay for my groceries. Okay let me get to the point. If you think their a person scanning for groceries for you after a long walk grabbing them, than guess again. Cause NO. You are on your own. Self check out all Register. Next time I will need to grab less groceries. Dont see the point why 🤔

Definitely different than the Walmart supercenter but if youre just needing some household items definitely makes it faster

Go ..if you want to bag your own groceries..Not one Register was open...wait they might not have had any at all! I wont go back with a big order of groceries..I didnt know they didnt have not one Register with a ring up person! Wow!

I went to Walmart Neighborhood Market located at 483 Hwy, U.S. Hwy 70 SW, Hickory, NC 28602 on December 7, 2020 to buy groceries. I purchased 3 Great value premium sandwich meat containers, 2 chicken 1 roast beef. When we went to use them that same day we noticed a smell so I checked dates on all containers. The chicken had expired on 11/20/20 and the beef on 11/22/20. When I went to the store to refund or exchange it was really hard to get anyone to care. Once they agreed to help I tried to get identical items only to find that all shelfed products I was looking for had expired. The dates on the roast beef were either 11/22/20 or 10/26/20. During these tough times I should be able to trust my grocer and am floored by the neglect.

The Walmarket is great. I shop there frequently. This, unfortunately, will have to change soon. They are getting ready to eliminate all the cashiers, and put in check yourself out machines. I remember how it went, when they first opened self-serve gas station. Laying off many cashiers, in order to save a buck for millionaires/billionaires, is irresponsible, especially in times like these.

A little crowded but clean, well stocked and with an ample variety of products from different cultures; so every one can find that little thing to make their home cooking, plus cleaning supplies and the regular of any American supermarket, bread, milk, cookies, cereals etc, etc

This particular Walmart needs some serious changes. Its absolutely nasty here, the smell had me turning around! First time I had to do that in a Walmart 🙈🙈🤷‍♀️

I called the store today but no answer I was nearly run over by one of your employee toting a case of beer I ask for help and he was very rude he set the beer in the floor and proceeded toward the bathrooms I will take my business somewhere else next time as we was not rude toward your employee

Great customer service and the best part is that they are the ONly walmart that ACTUALLY tie the bags up.that is a BIG plus because the food will not be flying all over the. Place this should be done in ALL the walmarts.

The new set up is a bad idea. There should still be traditional registers with the option to self check out if youd like. Long lines drive us and many others away.

I dont recommend shopping here after dark. Its sketchy at nighttime. But early in the morning, its good to shop here if you dont wanna drive to the super walmart for food items, if you live in the west side of Hickory.

Self check out, a bag, a hand wash, and a disposable glove lets me do a quick clean purchase touching nothing but the glove, and letting the glove touch my groceries, then the pin pad (swipe card with other hand), and receipt. Almost easy peasy.

PACKED TO THE GILLS !!!! AS YOU KNOW SOME TV STATION SAID SNOW OVER THE WEEKEND !!!!! EVERY ONE HAS TO GET OUT NOW AND BUY MILK AND BREAD TO MAKE THE WORLD FAMOUS NORTH CAROLINA SNOW SANDWICH !!! I HAVE BEEN HERE FOR 25 YEARS AND STILL HAVENT HAD ONE!!!!

He donated some bleach we needed ASAP FOR OUR COVID RESIDENTS at my job and it was a last minute call and he act like a First Response person!!!! There is a young lady named Leah that works as a cashier there and she is the most wonderful a person that you could ever meet. She is always so upbeat and positive.

Walmart needs to carry more bird supplies. They need grit for birds. This is a vital part of their diet. You never have it .

A typical Walmart store, loads of anything you need and multiple customers. The produce was nice, the store was reasonably clean and isles not overcrowded. The checkout personal were friendly and helpful.

Nice lady at entrance apologizing for no carts. Said she was still waiting for someone to bring in and clean. I opted to go on without waiting for one. Only got things I just really needed and would be able to carry. Didnt see any baskets either. All else was good.

Stopped for gas and was backed into by a driver who had pulled into pump that had a grey bag over it. Dont know why he didnt hear our horn as he backed up and swung out of that has lane. Walmart could avoid this by clearly marking non-working pumps with a colorful bag or bright tape. Almost 700 dollars damage.

Do not like bagging my own groceries it takes time out of my day.

I wouldve given 5 stars but the parking lot beside where the gas pumps are had an abundance of trash on the asphalt and all in the grass bank. Its really disheartening. I can understand some debris and trash but it was a bit much.

How hard is it to program your machines to take card and cash so they can all be used by anyone.And its quite annoying to listen to the employees standing around screaming card or cash the entire time your checking out.. the lines are extremely long now and unorganized.

I was surprised that they were actually well stocked with about everything. Everyone was super friendly.

Good service. Had the things we needed at relatively cheap prices. Pharmacy was closed for lunch and when i got there they didnt have the medicine I needed. But besides that still good

The cashiers and every employee in the store is always so friendly and volunteer to help me find something even if I didnt ask. But theyre not pushy, of course. Always have a lot of variety, and the prices are the lowest. I love it!

Delivering Meals on wheels one Monday...left home forgetting grocery bags...needed 14 ...explained the situation...wouldnt even sell them to me...very rude...went to Sheets ...they handed me a handful without charge...bad experience with walmart...so disappointed...no grocery shopping there for me!

The meats brown instead of red and EVERYTHING expires in a day or is already expired everytime i go.

Kinda messy, doesnt seem organized. I only stopped here since it was on my way home. Will go back to food lion.

I went in to pick up a couple of things this Sunday. Got to say it was a bit crowded, but it being in the location it is is very convenient. And I really didnt have to wait that long to go through the line for someone to check me out. what I really liked was the gas prices I think it was $2.48 a gallon, using my Walmart gift card. But would definitely stop back in when Im over that way..
