Placed my order on grubhub and they did not give one of the dish and never mentioned even though I picked it up in person. When I called back he was rude and told me he is from front desk and doesn’t have any relation with kitchen staff which didn’t make any sense to me. He also told me he didn’t have my number, I placed an order on grubhub they should have my number and name. When I asked him to transfer to manager and he just hung up on me. I am not sure if management has changed in recent times but it’s going down in service and taste. I will not recommend this to anyone.
Great place to hang out on a Friday night. There was DJ and the music was amazing. Great vibe. Highly recommend if loud music doesn’t bother you. Will definitely visit again.
We went a couple weeks ago on a Friday which is DJ night. The music was deafening, so if you go on a Friday night, we recommend sitting outside. Aside from that, the food was pretty good, but the service was mediocre; our host gave us one USED PAPER MENU for every two people, and when we asked for more, he said that they were worried about their PAPER menus getting ruined. They also kept forgetting/messing up what we ordered. Come for the food not the service...
It was late 10:30 pm Thursday(23 sept) when i went to Tez for dinner to have a plate of goat biriyani. The biriyani was so ‘so ’spicy that i couldn’t even eat my second bite. Felt like i wasted around 15 bucks without even eating anything. I spent that night fasting as all other Indian restaurants have closed out already. One of the worst experience I ever had. I feel like i want my money back.
I am a regular customer at least was, I will give props when its due so food wise, the place is great, however I would suggest the owner to hire staff that actually pays attention to the customers, not sure if its bias but I have notice that the waiter training is really bad, they only come to you if you call them like 5 times and there is no sense of feeling welcomed.They couldnt even do a basic service to check on us or even give water. I was there yesterday and it was just me and my buddy. Literally the waiter did not come at all, unless we asked and no customer service. food is great however, I hope the owner understands, customer service has a lot to do with it. I could totally understand if the place was poppin, but there was not a single customer in there. which I dont get.
If you love chicken then try Chicken Wings and if you like spicy chicken then try chilly chicken.For veg, go with the cauliflower machurian.
Good ambiance, awesome food. We went for dinner, there is a DJ After 8 pm, sound was so loud was difficult to call the servers. I understand this is a good concept of DJ but after all its a restaurant and not disco club. Told server to slow down the volume as its too loud but they didn’t listen. Food is awesome so much variety
This is a very unique bar setting with Indian food. It is SPICY for non spicy pallets so stress this to your server! We had to send one dish back because they put too many jalepenos on the fried rice, but they took it back no questions asked. the BUTTER CHICKEN is probably one of the BEST dishes here - get it with naan! Regular customer because of the service very nice and friendly staff very accommodating and does there best have been coming here for almost a year because of Malik made our last new year a blast that is why i decided to appreciate him this late but every now and then kitchen messes up either food is wrong or to cold but we have always been taken care of. That is why 5 stars

Deadly slow service for a Friday night and oily fried rice. But decent quantity of food !I just walked in at 8 pm after watching little women in the AMC nearby. I was very hungry and hence I decided not to go my usual takeaway route and pig on the food then and there. I was wrong.Waited more than five minutes by the entrance to get seated. Probably they were understaffed. But there were only an average number of tables filled.I like low lighting. It was mostly dark inside. Perfect ! They had multiple screens flashing sports, ads, Hindi songs and a big one with Bollywood songs on it. Wouldve preferred to sit at a table facing it. Should ask for it next time.I asked for a Paneer Tikka over fried rice and a masala peanut. The peanuts arrived promptly. And I loved the spice level. It would be the perfect snacks for round of drinks.The food arrives quickly, but every other activity takes time. A lot of it.The paneer Tikka over fried rice had decent amount of paneer in it. But they could add more looking at the price point of 13$+ . The quantity of fried rice was for two but paneer didnt match that.Overall, would definitely try to visit this place again and get drunk. Had to skip this time as I was still getting back on feet from the new year hangover.
Awful food !! Had a delivery via DoorDash (veggie burger and panner tikka roll). Veggie burger had a bun that was burnt, delivered without any fries and package poorly in a box wherein the whole burger came apart. Paneer tikka roll felt like a frozen packaged item that was microwaved, no taste and again packaged poorly so everything came apart as soon it was unpacked. Worst of all the food was stale and not at all consume able, had to trash it before we could take a second bite. The merchant should really do some quality control since it could be a health hazard if the food is not inspected before delivery to customers.
Good south indian restaurant. Food is good and authentic south indian like from karela. They have DJ at night on Friday and Saturday. They take reservations to book tables due to covid restrictions. We enjoyed our time and food. Oh! They have a full bar.
Stopped going to this place after getting a rubber band in my appetizer. Was told its a human error and received a 5% discount on food.
Really bad experience with the food the masala puri was so bad and the Tez chef specialty mutton curry was not good had just bones in the curry.
Good place for Indo cultured food very nice themed and upscale. Food was very delicious very well paired with the Indian beers. Quite busy over the weekend they have dj nights and nice food with great prices.

Really wanted to say good things but sadly there is nothing that was good about my experience. Walked in on a Saturday night, and only one other table. Everyone seemed confused and socially awkward. Almost 15 minutes to get starter wings .The food was allright.....but the butter chicken didnt even come with rice. Soft drinks are not free refills. Didnt even have the glass filled to the top. Wasnt warned about it either. Limited menu. Im disappointed and do not recommend.
Went with friends on friday .The have many deals and the prices were cheaper nice indian beers. The service was good and appetizers were all served hot. Must have a Tez65 and pepper chicken.

Ordered through Doordash. Because their menu is so vague, I had to call them to tell them what to put on my lamb burger. Was told they were out of the lamb burger, and opted for the tandoori chicken sandwich. Worst chicken sandwich Ive ever had. The $3 for a can of Coke was the final slap in the face.
Well, a place which serves a chicken kathi roll with 2 smallest possible pieces of chicken in it, and (pav) bhaji with absolutely no potatoes in it.... So either they should mention it very very clearly in their menu, which they dont, ergo 2 star.
I ordered food from here today, I ordered butter chicken and egg biryani through DoorDash. I found pieces of foil in my food. This was very irresponsible.Foil can cause blood cancerI am not sure how many pieces there were after I tried to remove them all.Very Disappointing, unsatisfying!

Food not good. I love Indian food. This place was a big disappointment. We (6) were the only diners at 5.30 pm on a Sunday, which maybe should have been a clue. We got 5 curry entrees. They ranged from fully inedible (2) to just OK (3). Go for the samosa chat, that appetizer was good and was recommended by the waiter. The people are nice, service was fine, and they have a good draft beer selection. But there was no inquiry by staff when we left on the table those two barely touched, black looking, and burnt tasting curries.
Good for Friday evening drinks. Their veg biryani is the best dish and should be tried! Nice ambience and courteous service.
We ordered three items tonight.1. Mutton sukha- It was not cooked properly and the mutton felt stale.2. Chicken tandoori - There was no taste. The blend of spices sucked.3. Chicken wings - it was so salty that we couldn’t eat even one piece and the server didn’t even apologize.So don’t waste your money.
Highly recommend. I often go with my sports friends and always have a great experience. Staff is courteous and guest friendly. Had an awesome experience with the live music. I also liked the menu items which go very well with the choices of drinks they offer.

Thank you for helping me meet my weight loss goal, i just couldnt eat anything, ate some rocks though that came as a side in the hara bhara kabab.Truly an experience i would not do again!
If I could give less than one star, I would gladly do so. This restaurant was my preferred one of choice, but after today, I will never ever go there or recommend it to a friend.After placing a carry out order for 7 items, the restaurant ended up giving me only 4 in the carry out parcel. The restaurant management then flat out refused to neither refund me the monies owed for the items they had forgotten to pack nor actually cook those remaining items.This is the worst customer experience I have had in a while. Save your money for some other worthy restaurant. There are plenty in the area hungry for your business and will show gratitude rather than an utter lack of empathy or respect.
We hosted a thread ceremony party at TEZ and absolutely loved it! The cook did an excellent job on the food; all my guest were satisfied! The waiters were very polite and respectful. The service was excellent did not have any issue at all. The DJ was great he had everyone dancing till the end of my party! Very reasonable price for the amount of service we got. I definitely recommend TEZ!
It was an awesome new year eve party at TEZ, food was excellent, programs kept all of us so involved. We loved the quizzes in between singing. Great job by the lady who MC’ed the programs. Singers were very good too, with a nice DJ, overall a great evening.
We went for lunch on a Sunday, and we were the only people in the restaurant the entire time. The American food, while not bad, certainly wasnt what I would normally expect for the price we paid. We dont normally eat Indian food, so I should probably refrain from giving my opinions in this area. The staff were very friendly and hospitable as well.Down to the reason for my one star rating...I didnt realize until after we left that a gratuity had been automatically applied to our ticket for a party of FIVE. Im almost always an above average tipper, and it really rubs me the wrong way when someones not confident enough in their ability to provide good service to the point that they think they need to force me to tip. Since I didnt realize that the gratuity was included, they ended up getting a pretty nice tip. If you really feel that you must force gratuities on your customers (especially without telling them), youre doing something wrong!UPDATE: I did upgrade this to 2 stars because the automatic gratuity was refunded.
A must!!!!I have been going to TEZ for a few months now. Love the ambiance, food is delicious, their karaoke nights are a blast. We recently catered food from here for my daughter’s birthday, which everyone loved. After the party, we went to TEZ just to have a good time and hit the dance floor. It was AMAZING!!!! DJ played some really good numbers and kept us going until 2:30am. Kudos to Sandeep and his crew for doing a fantastic job!!! Highly recommend this place
Ive had good experiences when dining in with them for dinner. The food is nice and the servers are very friendly and helpful.Lunch Buffet wasnt nice the two times Ive been there. Average taste and limited options for vegetarian dishes..
A classic ambience and upscale Indian restaurant. A very nice place to hang out, feels very spacious. We had a guy named Gustav help us and he explained with a lot of patience. We loved the drinks we ordered, by the bartender Fernando. He definitely knows what he is doing, trust him and go with his recommendation. Did you know the only awesome place that does karaoke in the DMV is TEZ? We have tried in Maryland and other places where it is done very causally. But the owners here take a lot of attention to karaoke events and we love it here. TEZ, please make more such karaoke and dancing events. We often end up going to DC and it is a long drive back home 🙂 and we would love something in this area.

Its your average Indian restaurant in the states. There is nothing American about it (not sure why there is American in the restaurant name), its all Indian food and the buffet has decent items in quantity. The veg dishes have more flavor then meat dishes. The desserts are a hit or miss. Parking is recommended to go for the basement parking garage.
Service folks solid. Went on christmas day. We were told full menu. We ordered and ended up not being full menu. So we adjusted, not much issue. Then they bring out their version of what we ordered. We left.

We love love this place! We came all the way from Maryland to try this out as we had heard so much about it this place and have been seeing their musical events on Facebook. We were usually coming to the Inchin bamboo gardens in the same complex but decided to try this out this time. The new year party was bang on. Food, decor and entertainment.. the owners are such down to earth people yet so professional and so very talented..Try this out if you are in NOVA! We plan to attend their Karaoke nights..
I wandered into TEZ looking for a place to watch the game and grab a bite to eat and I’m really glad I did. The food is fantastic and the staff and regulars are very warm and friendly. The wings and pepper chicken were delicious. I couldn’t stop eating!

Definitely not the best, but not the worst either. Plenty of seating inside. Daily buffet from 11:30 AM. Ordered takeaway recently, arrived at appointed time and was informed the kitchen hadn’t even started the order. Staff was a bit abrupt.
MUST READ BEFORE EATING AT TEZThe food was great but the service was terrible. They messed up our orders twice and we ended up canceling an order because it had been over 40 minutes since we got the first part of our order. Large parties often lead to bad service here. We thought the food was okay though. Need to improve service dramatically. The description is also really fake and the restaurant is not good compared to what you think. Good reviews for this restaurant get coupons and discounts so don’t believe what some say. If you are willing to wait a long time (40 min or More) then go here. The menu is also very small and there is no variety in the dishes. Everything is full of oil and coloring and definitely unhealthy. Go if you want but there are much better places in the area.
Just came back from Super Bowl Party. Loved the ambience and food. Great location. Will definitely visit, I was here previously for 2 parties and will continue to. Today there were a lot of people.

Nice place and good ambience. Liked their appetizers and a couple of veggie curries. The biriyani was very salty and service was really bad. They need to work on their service and improve.They had one bartender and since he had his hands full, it looked like a part timer was serving drinks and he had no idea about bartending. Drinks were really bad.
We went there on Super Bowl, it was pretty crowded, the staff still managed although there was some delay. Delay was expected as we all came in at the same time for the game. Yummy appetizers and entrees, wonderful ambience, great concept. Definitely recommend.
It was a nice place to go for happy hour after work. The list of happy hour drinks is great but the selection of happy hour food items is limited. The food was good and the waiter was accommodating.
This place is my first choice site. Of all restaurants I know I like it most. Worst food and disgrace to Indian food. Service was horrible and unacceptable. They just got into a very bad karma of ripping people off by charging $50 per person for bad food, too long wait, food that made us sick, over crowded (I am sure they violated the ordinance by having way more people than that place can handle). Fire Marshal and health departments should be notified. I was sick by their food on New Years eve! Will never go back to this place. Okay owners, you may have ripped us and made money, what goes around comes around! Bad Karma. Shame on you to have belly dancers expose in front of kids! I wish there was a Zero to rate you! Dont go to this place!
The food was spicy even though I asked for mild. The food tasted okayish - 6 on 10. The server forgot to put plates on the table which I had to request after the dishes were brought to the table. They also forgot my beverage and served it after I mentioned it - while I was half way through my main course. The dessert was good though - Double ka meetha (bread pudding)
The food & drinks are the best in town specially if you love spices!!!! DJ NIGHTS FRIDAYS & SATURDAYS ARE LIT!!!! I love the atmosphere! No need to go to DC for dancing. The Dj’s are the best!!!

Best vindaloo curry Ive ever had! Most places dont get dishes spicy enough, but TEZ was on point, without compromising flavor.

Food was good but not much vegetarian options. They had wheat balls known as raggi balls in India which was nice. Ambience was pleasant . But overall less options for veg menu for a buffet
Go here for the happy hour specials and appetizers. Everything we tried was delicious and priced low as they are small plates, although not that small ;) Still havent quite explored their main course options, pretty sure itll be phenomenal as the chef is amazing.

Ordered a paneer tikka fried rice and masala potato wedges... All I got was oily bell pepper fried rice (not a single piece of paneer was found) and bland wedges.. Im so disappointed and Ill never order there ever again..

Beautiful place, great ambience and awesome food. Try their veg fried rice and veg fried rice. you will not go wrong, even their garlic fried rice during buffet is great. I am a vegetarian, so I usually go with masala peanuts and chili paneer. Friendly staff and owners. we went there on a Friday and was packed. Loved their DJ nite too.
Had visited this restaurant on Feb 14th and end up paying much more for a Valentine party already happening there. Indian food served had a horrible quality and the dinner buffet was there with minimal items ( 2 each for Veg/Non- Veg appetizers and 1 each for dinner), it was terrible for the money they charge ..
This place never fails to deliver. They serve fresh dishes for affordable rates, there are no long waits even when the spot is busy.
