First time in a SAFEWAY and I was impressed with the layout, the flow and the prices. Even though they should have more private label items. Customer service was very courteous and helpful when asked. I strongly recommend.

Shop there often because of convenient location but always need to check receipt because register is not always updated with sales price (I do have a Safeway card.) so that means a return trip. Fruits and vegetables expensive compared to competing stores. Otherwise OK.

Perfectly fine grocery store. Lots of choices and the Safeway signature brand is as good as any. Not cheap anymore though......

OK store, had issues with the pharmacy and had to scramble to walgreens to start my antibiotics before the doctors office closed for the weekend. Safeway kept sending notices and multiple calls person stated that the prescription was being filled. Many hours later got admission that they never got anything from the doctor, although the doctor repeatedly tried. Then a few days later I got another message that the prescription was ready, long after I needed it

Just a really clean, very nicely maintained grocery store.This one has a Starbucks right inside the front door to the right.There are deals similar to Giant.Just a really nice store.I really hope Safeway and Giant never close because the customer experience and service at both are outstanding.

Good and helpful cleaning but not sheap in fish market

Customer Services was very nice especially the Deli personnel...the store reminds me of. The Kroger in Hampton.Va.loved it............one customer was giving the Lady Associate a hard time but she was so humble and nice...very gracious......blessings

Good Safeway with long hours and a huge parking lot. It has a self checkout zone and the cashiers are fast. Has a nice clearance selection too. Produce is pretty decent, meat selection is okay.. all the frozen good and bakery selection are good

Great cigarettes for asking price market friendly prices and great customer service.

Pharmacy told me to keep coming back later for prescription then hours later said they never got it. Doctor repeatedly called it in. Have had troubles in the past having been told late that I had to rush to a different pharmacy since it was out of stock, would not transfer to another local drug store. Grocery store is clean and prices good.

Nice store. It was easy to join their club to get the reduced prices. Lots of familiar product names and a good selection. The staff in the store were not very helpful. We were looking for some standard bags of cheese and were told they didnt have any but after a self search of the store, voila, we found some.

Love the night management there. I think their names are Elena and Manasic. These ladies are very friendly and quite helpful with knowledge of where things are. A lot has changed for the better...

Love this straight up grocery store. Not trying to be an entertainment destination seeking venue. Thank goodness! Helpful friendly staff. You can find most everything you need. A few issues that most businesses face like shrink ( love paying for an empty box) and the occasional, shall we say unmotivated team member. But that’s life. My husband is addicted to the chicken pot pie and as long as they have ice cream, well I’m a happy camper.

The store itself is great. You can usually find whatever product youre looking for. The produce section is okay, sometimes the food looks wilted and isnt the most fresh. The staff, especially at checkout can be a lot more friendly too!

Has very fresh items and a very clean place

So once again I go to the Safeway on Elden Street in Herndon, and its closed. Its supposed to be a 24-hour Safeway and once again after midnight, which is when I get off work, it is closed. No explanation or warning; just closed. I guarantee if this Safeway was in a more affluent neighborhood it would be open as advertised. It is very frustrating and disappointing that this Safeway does not maintain the hours that are posted. I do not recommend this Safeway whatsoever. If I could, I would not give it a single star. Take your business elsewhere.

This store continues to have issues stocking shelves in some categories. Its Mens restroom is deplorable.

Ample parking, with freshly painted lines. I didn’t go in; but my friend loves this specific Safeway location. Located conveniently close to the main thoroughfares.

Better options than I remember in visits past

Your store hours are incorrecty listed as 24 hours on google maps. Open time is actually 6 am. New Years Eve was also opened an hour later than posted open time at door.

Well organized

Everythings expensive and the staff are often rude. I tried this place several times thinking it might get better, but usually got disgusted and left without buying anything. Save yourself the trouble and some cash by going to Walmart, Giant, or Harris Teeter. There is nothing special here either; just a regular grocery.

This location is not taking the COVID precautions seriously. First, it was running into two men from the stock room, standing 2 feet apart without masks around open produce. Then, as I was checking out, I chose self checkout to avoid the extra exposure. Not like it mattered. There was an error which required an employee come over and check the items. Instead of asking if I could hold up each item to verify what I’d scanned, she started touching EVERYTHING that I had already bagged and put them in a different bagging order, which required me to retouch them to move them back. Even more exposure. She took the time to touch every. Single. Item. I would think that a company would’ve had policies in place for MONTHS at this point to avoid this exact situation. Clearly, they are not abiding by state law and do not take the safety of their clientele seriously.

Nice floral and produce department. I purchased some flowers for the table, veggies and fish from the meat dependent. There was a very nice employee who helped me with making a choice for a fish dinner.

It was great - nice, friendly environment! In & out super quick! Of course, I was in there shortly after 7:00 am so their morning rush hadnt hit yet. But they had what I needed, Lucerne cottage cheese (4%) . So Im a happy girl!! Im very particular about my cottage cheese and Lucerne is the best. So far, I can only find it at Safeway. The cashier who checked me out was really nice & pleasant as well. I know sometimes Im not awake in the morning so I run on autopilot. The cashier took the time to say good morning and ask about my day. We exchanged pleasantries as I left too.

Bought a jar of nuts at beginning of covid and theyre bad (rancid). Safeway will not accept the return and as of 30 June has no idea when/if they will accept returns again. Best I can tell only Albertson owned stores, e.g., Safeway, are not accepting returns due to a quality problem with the product. In other words, most any other grocery store will accept returns if there is a quality problem with the product but not Safeway. No recourse with Safeway so safer to shop elsewhere.

When we call the store for Christmas hours, you guys say the Elden Street Herndon store open for 24 hours. We went there all the way and the store was close!

Well-stocked, well-priced always clean and tidy supermarket. They carry a good selection of fresh produce (lots of it organically grown), dairy, frozen, pantry essentials, etc. including a good sized area deducated for pets (even carry a number of wild bird seed brands) and an in-store pharmacy. I like this store a lot.One of my concerns is their staff seem to be kept on a super-low level (resulting waiting at the tills, and oddly bagged groceries); staff is almost always different. Id rather not speculate why staff retention is seemingly a problem:(My other issue is their use of single-use plastic (carrier bags and produce packaging!!)

Store was very clean and organized.prices are somewhat high but overall I found what I needed in 10 mins and left.

Average super market. You can find some decent deals, but your mostly have to stick specially priced items that require a Safeway card. I shop here for a few things, but there are so many grocery options in the area that I cant imagine doing all of my grocery shopping here.

Its getting better, hiring new people, things seem better stocked than they were a fee months ago. Seems more organized and better managed.

My go-to Safeway in the Herndon/Reston area. Ive found that their fruits and veggies are more expensive than other grocery stores, but they have the best deals on cereals and canned goods. Their pastries and baked goods are very high quality and I really like that they have a self checkout area. Other grocery stores have an on-site sushi chef and I wish that Safeway would start doing that.

Nice store but.....Today there were several lines open. If they are not going to put in self checkout, they need to always have more cashiers open. I think that they do not want to keep an employee always available at self checkout as other stores do. It is a very friendly, acommodating store with good sale prices.

I can never find what I need, which is insane because I go to a lot of different grocery stores and pharmacies and have never had such a bad experience as at this safeway. The last two times I tried to get something here, I left with nothing. Produce is terrible. I will never go back.

The store was fabulous when it opened, but is just ok now. Its usually understaffed, and produce can be iffy. With all the new competition from international grocers, I wouldnt be surprised to find them in trouble. Fortunately for them, their client base is largely white, and thats not a segment typically enthusiastic about the more global stores, even though their produce is especially varied and very high-quality at much lower prices. Their pharmacy is a differentiator thats probably very important.

This Safeway is a large enough store to have the majority of the foods I purchase. The employees are friendly & professional.

Lack of cashiers and stock. Nothing unusual

Safeway is a supermarket where everything is between $ 2 & $3 (at least) expensive than other supermarkets. The key is to buy when what you want is on sale. Having their customized offers is also a good way to save money. They send to you offers at a lower price. The only way to shop smart nowadays. Clean, free parking, cold and little dark. Meat is very good.

A familiar place for me.

Staff is friendly and helpful and the layout is easy. There rarely are hand baskets at the front door. Searching every isle for one is always frustrating. I wish they had more robust organic non-produce slection.

What is there to say. Its a grocery store. They have a lot of food and other stuff. There is also a bank and a coffee shop. They have a very good selection of produce and bread and beer and wine. They cashiers are pretty nice if you go on a Thursday. The Monopoly game is stupid and a waste of time.

This store has no self checkout lines. Standing in line to check out through a cashier can sometimes take quite a while. They definitely need Improvement in this area
