The donation line is always long and slow. Wish people would unload faster especially when theres a line. Some employees are nice and some should stay home instead if going to work.I havent been here in a long time. I stopped by to find some books and so happy that I did. First of all, the employees there are so helpful and polite. I got lucky and found 2 books, one of which I was looking for. Hardcover books are $2.59, what a great deal!! This store is very well organized and even with a lot of stuff, it still looks spacious. It is a significant improvement from my last visit many years ago. They have lots of clothes, and they look clean from looking as I was walking passed them. I didnt shop for anything but books. They accept donations which are dropped off in the back of the building, and the drop off dates and time is posted outside the drop off area. They also take credit cards which is super convenient. I will start returning more often to look for books.

Its a Goodwill store, manage your expectations accordingly. A good selection of clothes was available. I found an item sufficient for my purpose in luggage. The staff is excellent. What is available will vary day to day, so prepare to spend time accordingly.

Used to be one of my favorite Goodwills to go to. Now they have removed all video games, DVD, and other media. No reason to shop here any longer.

Very disappointed in the donation center. The first time I tried to donate a tall guy with a slight country accent turned me away because he claimed they weren’t taking donations for another 15 minutes. Meanwhile he was just standing there waiting at his post for donations. 🙄 The second time I went out of my way to donate a car full of items and was turned away (by the same guy) because it was sprinkling out and he claimed they do not take donations when it’s raining. I’ve had it with this place! I’ll donate my stuff somewhere else. 👎🏼👎🏼

Its A Saturday evening 5:30 pm and for the last 39 MINUTES Only ONE Cashier and line is LONG..I see other Workers But No one helps the cashier with checking out customers.. This happens often.I have come over many times since it opens but customer service has been BAD FOR THE LASR 3 YEARS. Receving are is dirty and at times unorganize.

We love this store! Good prices, good selection and friendly staff.

Clean, well organized. Person checking in and out number of people. Hand sanitizer available at door. 6 foot markers outside and at checkout. Directional signs on ground inside. We felt very safe here. Drop off donations were outside around back.

I loved this thrift store!! I found so many things!! Although I didn’t find what any sweatshirts (which was what I was looking for) I did find some SUPER comfy sweatpants in the guys section. I’m so exited to go back! I didn’t have much time to look through the shoes because there were a lot of people in that area so when I go back I will be sure to check them out!!

These people are generally nice, kind and helpful. Such a shame Goodwill so often gets overlooked.Been here again recently and witnessed how quick and professional the staff members were; someone had a (medical) emergency and in no time the ambulance was on site. The two staff members were making sure the person was safe and comfortable - all the meantime the store was operating as normal, assuring all of us things are under control.Truly impressive, they were amazing!! 🌟🌟

The employees here are very nice. Ive found some great bargains on things here. I found a cozy winter coat for this year. An Adidas down jacket from the early 2000s. Its so warm! The store is well organized. Sometimes the music is played too loudly here though and sometimes it is just way too crowded with shoppers.

Great thrift store near several local restaurants. They had excellent finds, though their clothing can be on the pricey side. Anything with a brand-name label is extra. $49 for a pair of used Nike tennis shoes?! The kids section and their wares seemed like reasonable prices. The store was organized very well and clean.

They over charge for things. you have to keep telling cashiers that the items are kids because they automatically want to charge you adult prices which cost more.

Difficult to reach donation area. Turned away twice including DURING posted donation hours. Trying to donate and help, instead found myself pushed elsewhere. Wont be back.

A solid Goodwill experience. I went to donate and walked around the store a bit.The donation center is around back and easily accessible. Parking can be an issue depending on the time of day.

I bought clothe from here and they would not return my clothe because its against company policy. It makes no sense. I cant try anything in the fitting room and they have no return policy on anything except electronics. How else am I suppose to make sure the clothe fit? If they blame it on Covid then why are they receiving donations from people?!

This is the best stocked Goodwill in the area. There are always very nice furniture, clothing and shoes to choose from. The staff is extremely nice and helpful. The recent reorganization of the store makes it easy to browse and move your cart around.

I went to donate a large bag of clothes and books but was told that they had closed already despite the online time listed as being 9 pm. I love coming to Goodwill and I have been donating regularly and will continue to do so. I will also update my review after my donation has been accepted.

This location has gone down hill so badly. I still visit, but not only do they price things like new or more at times, their service is awful. The staff argues in front of customers, argue with customers, and there seems to be no managers that help control this chaos.I finally am writing a review because I just tried to drop off 3 boxes full of quality cloths and the guy said they were not taking donations because his clock said it was 7 when ours all said a 6:58. He even argued with his when all we wanted was to give goodwill free quality clothing to help make them money.I worked at a goodwill in another region, this service is appalling and really makes me not want to support this location any more.

I was delighted to find a used cat tree and some decorative items here. This was a fun place to take my time and look for treasure!

I went to drop off an item for donation and at the drop off place in the rear I found a perfect piece of furniture that I had been hoping to find 2nd hand. The person in charge of these pieces was hesitant to let me buy it at that moment because it had to be processed to go on the floor. But we came to a meeting of the minds and I bought it within the hour. Had a great time both with front desk cashiers and drop-off guys. Made my day!

I went to donate 6 boxes of clothes and the guy who was collecting was EXTREMELY rude. He wanted to pick through what I was donating and choose what they would take. He told me he would only take new items so I picked out three shirts that had clearly never been worn to show him. He then said he didnt want to take stuff with another companys advertising on it.... It was Ed Hardy clothing! I also donated 20+ shoes still in the box and he wanted to go through those too to see if any were worn! I told him I didnt have time for him to pick through everything so he said FINE Ill take these two boxes this time, next time I wont be so lucky. Isnt Goodwill supposed to take donations?? I didnt know they were picking and choosing what they could take now-a-days. I went to leave and muttered Good Grief and he said What was that? Do you want to come back here and say that to me? I am disgusted with the behavior at this location! Every other location I have donated stuff to has been more than polite.

I have spent a good amount of money at this location in the past. The staff was wonderful, treated me like family because I was in so often.The store always had higher end pieces, as it is located in a good area. The entire inventory changed practically daily. There were items there youd not find anywhere else. A great selection of anything you might be looking for. I had health issues that kept me away for a while. When I returned, they have cut their inventory to only the basic needs, very little furniture, no special collectibles, or decorative pieces to mention. The items arent being listed on line instead either. I found out why. I now need to declutter after losing a family member. My sons rented a truck, took all day to fill with antique furniture, decorative pieces, etc. When they arrived, it was late, and the men at the back turned them away. Said they didnt have room, and told them to go to the Sterling store. Sterling would have closed by the time they got there, and they couldnt keep the rental truck any later. The contents went into dumpsters a friend gave us access to. Since then they tried, and I have tried to donate there, but they go through everything, and turn away most items now. If I can take the time to go to sterling, or even Centerville to donate, they are more then grateful to accept our items. I honestly miss the shopping experiences Ive had there, as well as the staff, but wont be returning.

I like the store have variety;.I found good things really;, I suggest you to do once a month something like a flea market with the furnitures and antique pieces.Also you must be more careful with the cloth that started to looks really but really old.

Found a few good pieces. The clothing was fairly well organized by size, and even color for the most part. The shoes (and to some extent the handbags), however, didnt seem to have much order to them, making it much harder to find something worthwhile. I have yet to check out the homegoods sections.

If possible I want to give no star .. they sell without tag, price tag and sticker on it .. I got blazer .. they sold it without tag and told us that we can return/exchange it .but when we went in 3 days he was not ready to return/exchange it and manager says they are not suppose to sell it first so they can do return on it .. and he is asking to donate the same item. Avoid this store if you can .. most items are so expensive that you can get same stuff for new when it goes not sale .i hate this store

All the clothes have goodwill size labels. Thats very useful. It keeps everything organized & makes shopping quick. Only one bathroom & it was terribly dirty.

I went into goodwill looking for some specific items for a function for the weekend. I found a lady working, and she helped me as best as she could. The employees were fantastic, and I am definitely going back!

Way too expensive for the items they sell. A stained cloth couch was selling for $65. At this rate they wont be able to sell anything. So where is the good in good will?

Went here weekly for past year as close to former employer and I am a bargain hunter. Good amount of items but you will wait 30 minutes to check out most days. Avoid unless off hours.

I would like to complain about the current store Maria Mata She is clearly racist towards customers I been shopping here for a little over 10yrs..and never have I ever had the bad experiences I have had with her. I was front in line she looked over me speaking to a Spanish women asking if she had a return and didnt ask what I needed when she said whoever is paying with a card come to her register and there was an extremely long line behind me. She always have a nasty look on her face not very welcoming at all and didnt put my items in a bag as if I didnt need one She is very tacky in the way she deals with her staff. Right in front of customers she tells her staff pointing to her skin color telling her in other words dont be racist when clearly she is the one with this problem. This is a complete negative environment she is creating she needs to be reprimanded immediately.. If I dont see a change in her position I will go to higher authorities to see she is dealt with ASAP. The furniture is way overly priced as well so many people are complaining about this but yet nobody is addressing the issues dedicated customers are complaining about. The thing I love about Herndon is it is a multicultural environment she just leaves a very distasteful feel to it all.

This place is completely out of touch with what thrift store prices for things needs to be. I hate to say this, but for what youre getting, Ross or Homegoods are better investments in your time. Youll pay maybe a dollar more for something thats new. What ever happened to getting low priced treasured at thrift stores in the Washington DC area? Most of this stuff is junk! Sell it as such. $5+tax for a small old glass candy dish or $7+tax for a weird stone statue is a bit misguided. The store wouldnt take my old aquarium/terrarium because apparently they dont sell. Not even if they charged $1 instead of $10? I guess I dont understand thrift store economics very well.

This is one of the better Goodwills in the NoVA area. They have a wide selection of different goods. But, I find, especially in comparison to other Goodwills in the area, that they have overall items in better condition and better quality. Although, the quantity of such items is limited, they are possible to find.They also have great specials and promotions that they announce to their rewards program subscribers.

Picked out some furniture here, staff was exceptionally helpful in helping me get it loaded into my rental truck. Will certainly go back here if Im in the area again.

The prices were way too expensive! This is all donated goods and the CEO of Goodwill makes millions - and it shows by what they are charging the consumer. A pair of USED shoes for $24.99 (keyword is used). The prices are outrageous. They need to lower the prices on furniture, shoes and other items, as they are keeping the people who really need to shop here away. Plus, what do they pay their employees? Probably minumum wage - and the CEO and leaders of the company reap the benefits. A jacket was selling for $80. and furnture for $200+ and up. WHY???? Keep in mind what the mission startement is for Goodwill and lower the prices. I was shocked at what they were charging for items.

Selection seems to get refreshed regularly with good options. I have noticed that this particular Goodwill seems to have higher prices than the Fairfax or Sterling ones.

Really bad experience, i went to return an item, to get it with a 25% discount on friday plus i was taking 4 other items to buy, i was told they couldnt do it but they could deduct the price of the returned item towards the new things but the cashier ended up forgetting to give me the 25% discount due to her already bad attitude, someone else came to help and ended up charching me twice and that whole time to avoid more confusion i just said i wanted the whole transaction to be voided out then the manager named Paul came he didnt even apologize for all the inconvinience. Of something that should have costed me around 18$ due to the sale they ended up taking 45$ now i gotta wait between 2 to 10business day to get it back in to my account. Very much unhappy with their service. The customer service its very poor from this hindu lady whom i didnt catch her name, she has very short hair.

Relatively clean for a thrift store, but usually in a bit of disarray and crowded. Best for finding books, housewares, and electronics, less so for video games.

Good for clothes, everything else is far overpriced. Ive been coming here for years since they opened up. Its usually been one of the better spots in the area, but in the past 6 months or so, their prices have risen to a bit of a ridiculous average. The Clothes selection is great and has reasonable prices, but electronics, shoes, and home decorations are WAY to pricey. I think they must have hired some new pricers who dont know what theyre doing. Sometimes they put an expensive item on the floor with a paper that has how much the items sells for new and how much they are asking, but even then its not enough off; maybe %30. For instance, today they were pricing old 20 tvs for $80, old beaten up stereo speakers for $35 and a broken wooden step latter for $60! thats outrageous. that thing should have been $15 at the most. This is not a fancy resale shop that specializes in brand names, its a Goodwill! this stuff should be priced around 10 cents for every dollar an item was brand new, not %30 off original price. I even have seen some items go for more than I know I could get them on ebay or craigslist.Bottom Line:Ive been shopping Thrifts for over 20 years now and this shop has been one of my go tos, but lately its getting too expensive for a thrift.
