I went to Amphoras last night for the first time.It is beautiful inside and the service we got was wonderful; quick and kind. They have a fairly large menu and are able to cook everything very well!! I got the Philly cheese steak, and the rest of my family ordered a reuben, chicken grilled cheese, burger, and a turkey club, which all came with a BUNCH of fries, and pickle (tasted homemade; I also got coleslaw with my Philly and it was great. I didn’t happen to take photos of our entrees, but we had our dessert to go, and so far all the desserts we’ve had (strawberry cheesecake, double chocolate cake, carrot cake, and Oreo cake) are beyond delicious! Don’t think twice and head over there!! 🤤🤤
This has become my favorite brunch place. The omelets are huge and delicious. The pancakes and waffles actually have flavor even without butter and syrup.The service is good as well.The bad thing is that the baked goods are delicious, which of course can be very dangerous. I am VERY picky about pies because my mother was an excellent baker (she had even catered some events and taught classes). The cherry pie I got there was very good, although not quite Pie DC level.
Our first visit here and the food was great... I ordered the gyro platter and was NOT disappointed!!! Super fresh ingredients and the gyro meat and tzatziki sauce were amazing!!! The portions are huge and I couldnt finish my sandwich, but still ordered from the FRESH IN-HOUSE bakery menu, which satiated my sweet tooth... the cheese cake and the chocolate cake are to die for!! My server, Helen, was very helpful with recommendations and her service was EXCELLENT!!! She was very sweet and very attentive. All staff that we encountered were very nice and we cant wait to return!!! They have an extensive menu, serving breakfast, lunch and dinner and Im excited to try the rest!!!

This was Amphoras second location, now their one and only since they closed the Vienna restaurant last year. Its a beautiful building, the food is just as good and some of the Vienna staff is now working here. Glad to see this amazing place hasnt just disappeared and it remains a go to for me and mine. I regularly take visitors from out of town to Amphora and they ALWAYS come away amazed.
My friend and I are utterly OBSESSED with this place! The entire staff is welcoming, friendly, and clean! Food is amazing and the entire environment overall makes the stay feel like more than just a night out. Highly recommended to all!
Had a wonderful experience this evening. It had been a while since I had been to Amphora(usually go in for the amazing cakes😋). Our waiter was really kind and polite. I believe he was the only waiter this evening and still managed to not look overwhelmed. The owner suggested steak Diane and it was amazing!
This is our go-to late night diner. The service is always excellent. Huge menu with great variety. Have never been disappointed - strawberry cheesecake is fantastic too!
The Amphora has been a restaurant that I have frequented for decades. I find their food to be consistently delicious. I particularly like their greek specialties. But almost everything has been particularly delicious. The menu has many pages and may be daunting for folks who are ordering for the first time.
Solid breakfast option if youre visiting Herndon. They added an outdoor dining area out front, which was what we did on this occasion. Not the same level of promptness as their indoor service for coffee refills, but everything else was perfect. Dont come here expecting a gourmet breakfast- its a great diner breakfast. Large menu with a great variety of options.
At first, the place didn’t seem welcoming, but once we were seated, the sweetest lady took care of us. The menu is big and overwhelming, so I suggest you have a look before you go. Know what you want to order. Food didn’t take long to arrive to our table and everything was delicious. Would definitely dine here again.

Since my timely exodus from the Stygian mire that sadly remains New Jersey, I have been plagued with an odd and somewhat masochistic compulsion for the Greek diners of my birthplace. There is something I find deeply moving about a Jewelry store display case full of chocolate cake. I hold a primal craving for the squeak on skin of overstuffed leather and for plastic tables made sticky with disinfectant. The very sight of “open 24 hours” makes my knees quake and brings tears to my eyes. Alas, no words can express the sheer majesty, the ineffable beauty of a menu replete with four consecutive pages of breakfast options available any time of day. My jet lag addled mind sought an old indulgence: chocolate chip pancakes with a side of fries. This sinful extravagance, this menagerie of sweet and savory, this decadent diabolom, ah! It was ecstasy. The only disappointment had was the small pouch of syrup I was given, a far cry from the traditional pitcher provided in diners across the garden state. My companions enjoyed the salmon and the steak.

My favorite breakfast spot in northern VA. Too many great options to list. My go-tos are the Amphora omelet and peanut butter pancakes. Simply awesome!

Perfect spot for late airport arrivals. 10 minutes away from Dulles Airport. Open 24 hours with a wide variety of menu options and pretty cozy booths. We got fish and chips and quesadilla. Big portions for both. And very friendly staff. Our server Bader was awesome!! Definitely going back again and again.
I came here for the first time tonight with my beautiful girlfriend and was absolutely blown away by how incredible the service was, and how delicious the food was! We got a chocolate waffle (yum!) and each got an entree - I got the French dip which was among the best I’ve had, and the au jus was just delightful :) my girlfriend got the gyro and it is one of her favorite things on the menu (I tried it and can concur, it’s awesome). The waitstaff were friendly, attentive, and thorough. I can’t wait to come back!!

When I was a young professional back in the 70’s there was a restaurant on M Street that served Greek dishes made with Love. Last night I recaptured that same experience in Herndon at Amphora Diner Deluxe. We’re going again tonight for dinner. And possibly again to eat breakfast tomorrow.
Stellar place! Great good, fair prices, huge portions. The food was very flavorful without being too strong and the staff (especially Badr) was very friendly and helpful. My Dad insisted this place was great and took me here and he was absolutely right! Overall, I HIGHLY recommend this restaurant!
I came here very early in the morning around 7am during the weekday with my fiance because we both had to go to work soon and no other customers were around ( really nice tbh because of the pandemic and could get our meals right away) I ordered the banana foster deluxe and my fiance had a dish with some hollandaise included (I forgot what it was called exactly) We got so much food and I couldnt finish it all, but for all that you got it was a very reasonable price! The service was great and friendly. I would come here again and enjoy some classic breakfast food.

This is one of our favorite places in NOVA. The menu is HUGE, the service outstanding, and the prices are very reasonable. Also they have a case of bakery goods available from their nearby Amphora Bakery of you prefer something sweet after your meal. Five stars!!
Our family of 20 had our funeral luncheon in their private dining room with private restrooms. Preordered appetizers were served in a very timely manner, even though we were early.Each of us ordered a different entree and beverage and they were spot on with each meal.One server, perfectly delivered.The food was delicious and very reasonably priced. Im sorry I didnt get the mans name that served us, but he was terrific.
Service is always great and the staff is awesome but the food is usually meh. Maybe they should consider shrinking the menu to focus on doing fewer things really well.

We are a family of four from out-of-town and we absolutely loved this place. The people working were extremely friendly and the food was delicious. They had so many choices for the meal and a fabulous selection of homemade desserts. We wish we had this diner closer to home!

The restaurant is extremely clean and provided a very safe environment to sit back, relax and enjoy the delicious food. The service is always really slow here but there is a plethora of things on the menu. Whatever you are craving at any hour of the day or night, they have and will make for you. Theres always a ton of seating so you never have to wait. If youre looking for a late night bite and just to hang out with friends, I would recommend coming to Amphora.

Ive been coming to Amphora for more than 20 years. Some of my best memories are from meals Ive had here. The desserts are amazing, the falafel is my favorite in the area, and the staff is so nice and awesome. Highly recommend this place!!
I visited here many years ago when I was in the area and was delighted to see it was still here. After my Spanakopita appetizer, eating half my generous gyro, I got a new blueberry cake. Food was excellent. Service was friendly and efficient. The manager stopped by and was upbeat.The only negative is the Spanakopita appetizer can be addictive, buttery, light layers, and delicious filling. Best one I have had.The menu is huge. I wish this restaurant was near me, because we would be back every week. Definitely a wonderful, family owned restaurant and a great meal.

Great place for late night/early morning meals as it’s one of the few in the Herndon/Dulles/Reston area that’s open 24 hours. It’s a huge menu with more than traditional diner classics - try the Greek dishes since that’s the family’s specialty! They also have terrific desserts, including seasonal items ... lots of seating although they do get crowded on weekends for breakfast.

Like another recent reviewer, it had been a while since I had last tried Amphora, but we went over Easter weekend at my father-in-laws request, and I agree with others: theyre really good now! I had pistichio, which is akin to lasagna, and it was excellent. Everyone in our largish group enjoyed the food and the diner experience was top notch. Highly recommend!
This is my local go-to spot for good food and good service. I recommend the Omelette Lorraine but a lot of their food is delicious. The staff knows us now and always take great care of us when we visit.

Went for the very first time and fell in love!! We had a yummy grown up grilled cheese and a delicious Cajun style eggs Benedict. Then we split a chocolate sundae that was covered in fudge and chocolate chips and other sugar high inducing yumminess. They have a huge menu and everything looks so good. I kept eyeing all the plates as they came out. The service was so warm and friendly! Great people! Everything was spaced out and distanced. The fact it is open late makes it high on my go-to list. Make sure you go with a lot people so you can be able to taste all the dishes. Thanks for the great hospitality and food!
The menu is a bit reduced, but the Island Hopper dinner was a very nice selection of Greek Plates. My woke had the French toast and enjoyed it. We go here periodically and like the food. Wish they had draft beer but the wine was good. I recommend this diner.
I love this place. An old school 24x7 diner that provides great service and great food. Professional and diligent waiters and waitresses who work hard and have been there a long time.Even in this COVID era, they are hanging in there and doing their best. A great place to spend time on your laptop while grabbing a cappuccino and one of their home made pastries. Or a late dinner. Or a early breakfast.
The most top-notch curved windows Ive ever seen. The corner booth kitty corner to the bar is the holy grail of restaurant booths. Wonderful for early morning conversation, or hungover staring contests. 10/10 would recommend this restaurant and booth.
Since it reopened it has gone down hill a lot. Like other places they dont have enough staff but the Asian waitress at this Greek Diner could not speak basic English and my simple French toast order came out completely wrong. The seats are ripped / uncomfortable. I came here because it was open after 10pm, but should have just stayed home.

Terrible Restaurant. Greasy food. I’ve tried 2 times, and no more. First time I found a hair in my food, second time my cup of coffee came with with a very red lipstick mark. Very nocitable. Awful.

Amazing service, had three refills without even having to ask once, before the last ran out. Food came fast, was not expecting what I got at all, a two inch thick sandwich. Amazing, some of the best French fries I have ever had also.
Everything was excellent. The food was delicious and service was fantastic too. 100% going back, even if it’s just for the great coffee and a dessert! My sister is considering Amphora for their wedding catering as well.
So Late night in Herndon Virginia everything is closed and I’m wondering where can I get breakfast. Then Amphora pops up on google ok so a diner in Northern Virginia I’m from queens NY I have very high expectations from a diner. I walk in and I am greeted instantly the interior is beautiful and clean. Sit down at the counter and the waitress doesn’t waste anytime grabbing me my coffee the lavazza is a very nice touch the coffee is amazing the sports playing on the tv remind me of home. The waitress Saida suggests that Amphora has the best French toast in Northern Virginia Bold statement lets try. She was not lying the French toast was the right amount of crispy and soft the texture and flavor were amazing. The turkey sausage was cooked just the way I wanted overall everything was amazing. A big shoutout to the staff for making this experience amazing and to everyone reading this enough said come and try it out.
A few weeks ago we had the opportunity to enjoy a spur of the moment dinner. My son requested a diner. I had not been to Amphora in quite a number of years, but had fond memories. So, we gave it a try on a very cold and windy evening in our pandemic affected restaurant dining time.To our delight, it proved to be a fantastic experience! For starters, the restaurant never looked better! It is refreshingly on trend with a nostalgic feel, completely perfect for a true diner setting. The weather & social distancing requirements most likely contributed to fewer diners this evening, but that gave us the ability to receive special attention from the staff. The staff were super friendly and helpful with choosing menu items. We were positively blessed with conversations and kind treatment while we dined.The food was amazing! Comfort provided in each taste. My son had a deluxe breakfast of eggs, pancakes and sausage gravy, and I had the Buffalo Chicken Cheese melt; all truly delicious! We chose some yummy treats from the bakery of course, and they did not disappoint! The brownies and cookies were sinful. The cherry pie to die for. We are already looking forward to a return trip and trying other, sure to be delectable. offerings. We couldnt recommend Amphora more.

Always awesome - especially late at night. Ive been going here late nights for 15+ years now. There was a point where the waitstaff was a little surly, but thats improved greatly now. You will see some interesting characters here and there - but thats more about when theyre open than anything. Menu is super extensive.

Just came out from the place, me and my three friends ate late and we ordered some food, they were very pleased with us, gave us excellent services and food! 😋 I definitely recommend it, they have all types of dishes and it is very very worth it!
The day manager at Springhill Suites Herndon-Reston suggested that Amphora Diner was a high quality old-school variety diner, but with an attractive front and ambiance (think flavor supreme without any of the Greasy Spoon attributes). I was hoping for a patty melt and that was about the only thing they didnt have on the menu! (Say hi to Carlos our server if you see him, he has quite a story and a great heart...long term employees are a testimony to a good establishment in this increasingly mass consumption fast-food world.) So, you can have drinks, have extremely decadent desserts, but my wife and I stuck with the menu, about sixteen pages of it, full of flavor favorites.After Carlos came a third time to see if we were ready, and after us narrowing our choices, we finally started with an appetizer that could have easily been an entire meal, and it was undoubtedly the best appetizer either of us have ever tasted! (Spinach-Artichoke dip, with melted provolone on top, accompanied by fresh pita baked triangles-to die for!) My suggestion is that they serve smaller portions because we laughed and said we could have gotten by sharing a single $10 appetizer for the whole lunch.Well, we each also had a wonderful meal as well and left stuffed, having a tab that was very reasonable. Pointer from us to you, order a variety of appetizers and leave it at that. You wont be sorry!
Wow, Amphora has an incredible breakfast menu. So far I have tried the Southwestern and Cajun (pictured) Benedict. The service is wonderful, the waiters I have had the two separate occasions have been very polite and attentive. The price is reasonable, around $12 for this. The resturant is clean and very nice. The very best part about Amphora is that it is open 24/7! Highly recommended.
First time back in the dining room, so much better fresh than takeout. They did a great job spreading out, wait staff well masked. Fantastic experience.
