Great customer service! Exceeded expectations. I highly recommend Green Lizard Cycling for all your bike needs. I visited this store looking for a bike travel case and some advice. The team went above and beyond and their service definitely shows they care about their customers. They packed my bike in one of their rental program bike travel cases and ensured I had all the required items to enjoy my ride at my travel destination.5 STAR PLUS kind of service. Thanks so much!
FIRST TIME with a repair - not transparent and misleading - which resulted in a TOUR DE bill that Lance Armstrong couldnt pay. My chief concerns are: 1) there was no notice to the bike owner as to what needed to be fixed 2) You would assume that with a 140$ tune up they wont charge 15$ to put on a bike chain. 3) the result was 350$ for a tune up, spokes, chain and brake pads. Half of which I could have done myself. And LISTEN, Im pro-small bike shops, the customer service was great at the front end, but on the back end you REALLY TAKE IT. Basically, it took a week and half to fix the issue, but there was no notice for what needed to be done. I could have saved at least 150$ on doing half of the things myself.COVID is over and bike shops are still busy, but this was a disappointment in terms of process. I can say the repairs were great, but there is an expectation of transparency despite the conditions.
Incredible, friendly service and tuning at a very reasonable price. I needed my gears indexed and rim tape changed and they hooked me up in no time. It’s very evident they know their stuff and are passionate about bikes and great customer service. Highly recommended!
Good but feels overrated. Sorry yall who may feel upset by what I just said but honestly, it feels slightly less wow than the feedbacks here allow to form an opinion. Been here on more than one occasion -both front and back section of the business- but my experience is definitely not outstanding or beyond-expectation. Prices, customer service IMO were so-so.I will admit tho they must do something right, as the place is always super-busy, the majority of the clientele looks regular and the location itself is awesome!
On 4/3 I ordered a helmet - the gentleman who helped me was very nice but I wanted a different color. We were told it would be 7-10 days to get this item in.14 days later we give them a call - and it isnt in yet. 20 days after the order we call again and are told that it hasnt shipped yet. The person on the phone gives huge attitude (as if he is doing a favor) and says What can you do?Well what I did was to go to a different store, order the helmet and had it in less then a week. We JUST got word that the helmet came in, a full month after I ordered it.I did not have a helmet at all, so was not able to ride outside until it came in. This was shockingly bad service. I will never purchase something from this shop that is not on the shelf as they cannot be trusted to order items. Also wanted to add that the cafe and the staff there are great and this negative review is based only on the terrible service that we received from the bike part of this shop.If you NEED an item and they dont have it and it is time sensitive order it elsewhere as their attitude seems to be based on What can you do?EDIT: While I understand that there are shipping and supplier issues, a different bike shop ordered (from the same place as you) the exact same helmet and it was in, in less then a week. The issue here was not caused by a supply chain issue.
Proper reliable shop with experienced and knowledgeable people. Theyve helped me with plenty of routine service and gotten me out of a bind or two as well.
Nice place to stop and take a break if you are on a bike ride. Coffee and pastries are also very good.
Love Green Lizard. If you want expensive, theyll sell you expensive. If youre on a budget, theyll work with you to get you the best you can afford. Always polite and helpful and they definitely dont look down on newbies. If youve never tried them, you should.
The most delicious macchiatos in town, top-quality cycling gear & training, the friendliest people, the perfect atmosphere after a ride/walk w/friends. Make certain you get your bike fitted by Clovis; he is undoubtedly the best in his field. Don’t miss it!
This will just be one of many top reviews for the Green Lizard bike shop, but I wanted to add my kudos too. I have been to Green Lizard now twice for bike fits for two different bikes. Each time the slight alterations and recommended (and affordable) changes such as new shoes, different stem, adjustments to seats etc. have transformed my rides and made them much more sustainable. There was a mix-up on my second appointment, which I am certain was my fault, and Clovis gave me a full hour anyway. He is the fitter and gives you options on upgrades that fit your budget. He wont recommend the most expensive fix if it isnt what you need. Because of the pandemic, I had to resort to buy an older Trek carbon road bike because nobody has new bikes in stock now. But, I ended up with a fantastic ride thanks to the Fit and the work Green Lizard did making the improvements. Totally recommend.
Friendly, helpful shop with great location (and beer)
Extremly knowledgeable staff, super friendly, always helpful. GREAT local bike shop!
Stay away! They kept my bike for a week, did not do anything AND broke the steering column on top of it. Than gave a lecture on company policies, riding safety. Waste of time. There are many MUCH better places around. Avoid these clowns.
Staff member provided support today on adjusting vintage brake parts. Repair shop has always been very gracious with their time and attention to detail.
When out riding the WOD unsupported it is nice having places like Green Lizard along the trail. Not only can you grab the spare tube or air cylinder, but they have a great selection of food and drink. The bonus is that they can even take on larger repairs with their staff. For me one of the perfect pitstops between Arlington and Ashburn or even Purcellville if you are planning to ride the WOD.
Excellent selection for cycling needs and great Cafe/ Beverage service!
Excellent experience shopping for a new bike for almost a year. Many good conversations where it was clear what were personal preferences and what was proven fact. No pressure, just a love of bikes and all forms of cycling. As a lifelong rider and sometime racer, having the coaching and chats with Clovis were a blessing and resulted in an impressive new ride! 2019 Cannondale Synapse 105 SE
Super professional. I needed a touch up paint job on my bike and they were able to find me the color from the bike manufacture and fixed it up. Looks brand new again.Thank you and highly recommended!
Great bike shop. Very fair and honest—Ill be going back.I had my hydraulic brake pads replaced and also asked to have the wheel bearing checked, fully expecting to need a rebuild. Not so says the tech—pads only required.Great service too. I got a text saying the bike was ready and, when I got there, a detailed explanation on what they had worked on.Thanks guys!
The Lizard is a multipurpose store. At its core is a good bike shop. Nice selection of bikes and accessories, plus repairs or upgrades as desired. The mechanics are knowledgeable and efficient. Ive never had any issues. They also have a good coffee and espresso bar with snacks that makes it a popular place for small meetings of 2-3 people. Outside picnic tables are available with umbrellas to fight the sun. No complaints.
It is a good shop and they guarantee their work. They can answer any question you have on bikes. My son asked a question. The guys at the shop asked three more questions, and then gave a pretty definitive answer of whats wrong with his bike and what he needs to do. I would recommend their people for any service or repairs.Their cafe is cool and pretty well stocked. I tried some of the items over a few visits, and their food and drinks are pretty good. It is a nice place to stop before/during/after a ride
I really appreciate the team at Green Lizard Cycling. I have been a customer for a little over two years and have always had exceptional service and my questions answered. I wanted to add an extra shout out for the help the team gave me during a recent crash and helped me out in a pinch. I would recommend Green Lizard for anyone needing a tune up, repair, or purchasing a bike from their knowledgeable team.
Great people with lots of bike expertise. I highly recommend it!
I have been to a bunch of local bike shops in the area, and this is hands down the best local bike shop in Nova! They are very professional, knowledgeable, and always greet me with a smile :)I just had my professional bike fit with Clovis. He is amazing as are the rest of the service/repair team. Ive been riding a lot since April and had continued foot pain, he made some adjustments and I just did my personal best of 75 miles with no pain! Thanks for the wonderful customer service, you have earned my trust and business for all of my families biking needs.Muhammad
High hopes for this place as being more convenient. Off season maintenance, then soon noticed slipping out of gear. Back for adjustment worked for a few rides. Back again for adjustment worked for a few less rides. After 3 visits here, elected to go back to Spokes which had always serviced the bike previously. In literally 2 minutes, was told the gear cable was frayed and about 3 wires shy of complete failure. Fixed and working great. 3 strikes and green lizard is OUT! Unacceptable lack of attention.
Good bike shop with a coffee shop inside. Right on the W&OD. Got good vibes in the shop. Well stocked store, comparable prices with other bike shops too.
Great place overall - as a bike service shop (ive had great experience with them with complex issues like stripped treading, wheel truing after car rollover, etc) ; and just as a pit-stop on the W&OD trail (coffee, beer, pastry). Just so cozy and welcoming - and very reasonably priced. 100% would recommend. New bikes are expensive though, not my league - and doesnt have to be.
Great shop in a convenient location. Good selection of bikes and parts with excellent, hometown style service.
These guys resurrected my 30 year old bicycle! It rides like a dream now since a new bike is impossible to get in this pandemic. They also have THE BEST expresso in town! Skip Starbucks.
Love this place. Had a bike issue that they fixed right up! Then bought some biking shirts for myself and the kid. Ill have to get a beer next time!
Ive been a regular at the GL past few years along with my fellow STDs - aka Swim Team Dads which are a group of middle aged (honestly north of middle age) dads from the Reston Herndon area who ride and regale together after starting a habit of doing bike rides after swim meets. Beth and Dave are wonderful and attract an eclectic and welcoming crowd. Yesterday Dave helped fit and order a new bike for my ten year old daughter and shes looking forward to soon picking it up. I have also found the GL shop crew to be first rate whether I have a silly beginner question or am in need of a significant bike repair as these are done well and quickly all for a reasonable price. Stop by for coffee in the AM or a beer later in the day. Go and enjoy the GL - a great part of our community.
Very knowledgeable and polite staff. Helped me look for a bike that was good for my height (very short!). They also have some tasty drinks. :)
I visited this bike shop today, I wanted to buy breaks for my sons bycyles ( size 20). I had pictures of my sons bikes and I showed one of the gentlemen. I told him I wanted the front breaks for one of the bike and a set of two for the other bike. The person assisting me was not customer friendly; at first he said he didnt understand me, then he went on rumbling and picked the wrong set. A younger worker who was listening offered to help him and he explained to me that those kind of breaks are out of stock. I realize this bike shop is more interested in repairing the bicycle for the customer. It makes sense as they charge more for something that I can do it in my garage at home. I wouldnt recommend anyone in this shop.Go to A-1 Cycling on Centreville Rd they have very energetic customer friendly workers who are professionals and they know their job. They will greet you as you enter and they have time for you; they know their stuff, you will love their exceptional service.
I bought my bicycle from Green Lizard a little over year ago and the experience was great. The service since then has been exceptional! Most of the time they turn me around while I wait. As a bike commuter I put about 5000 miles a year on the bike and things just wear out or come out of alignment and they get me right back on the road. I can not recommend these folks enough! They have built this business on service especially after the sale. The only reason I am giving 5 stars is because I can not give 6.
First time customer. Came in with my daughters BMX bike that had the tires not properly seated by a friend that did not know how to install them. Very friendly down to earth people and not to mention A+ customer service, I was made felt right at home. Waited for about 15 minutes and was out the door. I will be back to have the rest of my bikes worked on. I drove over 30 minutes and passed a few bike shops.... glad I did! Thanks again
Loved this shop even before moving into the area. The staff are great, coffee and beer are excellent. Love bringing my dog into the shop for some treats for both of us. Had excellent help choosing a new bike.
Awesome bicycle collection and food / drinks
Perfect place to rent a bike and ride the Washington and Old Dominion Trail. I asked if they could put SPD pedals on mine, and they did, no charge. The bike looked new and road perfectly. theres a coffee bar in front of the store and picnic tables and chairs out front where you can sit and drink your coffee before or after a ride. Overall a very good experience, and Ill be back here on other visits to the area.
Was riding on the w&od trail and after I got a quarter mile past this business I had a problem with my bike. Walked it over to them and they had me out of there very quickly. Definitely appreciate them taking me in quickly.
This bike shop is ripping off their customers. I had tires and tubes replaced, new cables and housings, and a GLC Tune Up. Total price $448.00. Im not sure what the tune up included, but I was charged $139.00 of labor for that. The tires were Continental Grand Prix 4-Season Black Edition, They are sold on Amazon for $50.00 each. I was charged $160 for the pair.I was billed for $260 of labor. The bike went on the service stand at about 5:30 Friday evening. I know because I called the shop at that time.I picked it up Saturday morning. I doubt the total time spent on my bike was more than one hour. One week previously I had paid this same shop $248 to replace a chain and put new tires on. The 28mm tire they put on the front was too large, and dragged on the frame, even though I had discussed this with the mechanic and agreed with his advice to put 25mm on the front. The back tire was also too large, so it was changed to 25mm on my second visit. I got to keep the two tires that did not fit, so for $180.00 (2 tires + $10 each to install) I have two tires I cant use.My total over 1 week: almost $700 for a new chain, cables and tires/tubes, cable adjustments, a de-greasing and lubrication. The last time I had major service on this bike was at Mellow Johnnys (Lance Armstrongs shop) in Austin Texas. They did all the work Green Lizard did, but also replaced my rear cassette. The total for that work was about $400.I got burned at Green Lizard and I wont be going back. I recommend to other cyclists to take your business to shops that are honest and have respect for their customers.update: after seeing my review, the owner called me and we spoke. I got back $180.00 for the two 28mm tires that did not fit. There was no explanation for how an hours service work could add up to $260.00. Buyer beware. Im off to The Bike Lane to see their operation.
Great service. Very helpful. Go the extra mile. Dont try to upsell you. Lots of choice. Excellent beer selection/coffee offerings. Shaded pandemic patio.
Employees are friendly and knowledgeable. Decent selection of accessories. Great atmosphere, fun to stop in for a coffee, beer or snack.I was very happy with the thorough work they did on a tune-up. When I picked up my bike they explained everything they did, and took time to answer all my questions.
Doing math research in the hippest bike shop on the planet — family owed, family operated, family lives above the store — smack on the Washington & Old Dominion bike trail, right in the heart of Old Herndon’s town hall.Bike shop includes coffee bar with delicious hand crafted lattes served in real porcelain mugs that will more than satisfy your over-roasted burnt bean Starbucks coffee cravings. They use Alaskas Kaladi Brothers Red Goat, with notes of Molasses, wine, chocolate, and nut -- yes, it tastes even better than it sounds. But then, they also carry local hand crafted beers for downtime!! OMG!!
Not very friendly or patient with beginners. I was asking some questions for guidance and got short dry answers. The store seems decent and the staff knowledgeable but the dry behavior made me feel a bit uncomfortable. I’ve been received better in other shops.Update:I’ll give this store a second try. Will stop by the next time I need something.
These people know what theyre doing, and their prices are beyond fair. I was expecting to pay much more and wait MUCH longer, but I was in and out in less than 20 with my ride being good as new. 100% recommend.
Make sure you make reservations, even if the people answering the phone say you don’t need them. We called a week before our bike ride to reserve two bikes and were told we wouldn’t need reservations, we would just need to come before 10 AM. We got there at 9 for safe measure. When we arrived, we were told all the bikes were all checked out except for one. The second one they offered had peddle assist and was $60. $60!!! They didn’t even offer to discount it down to the price of a normal bike for giving us bad information. The guy couldn’t be bothered, he seemed annoyed we were even asking about renting bikes because he had a line of people waiting. I think we will just buy our own bikes somewhere else, because the price for renting them here is a rip off anyways.
I love Green Lizard and so do other friends who have been there! Its a great place to stop by for a refreshment, to visit with a friend or get a bike repaired. They do quick fixes or deal with serious problems and are always friendly. Its right *on* the bike path so you can sit at the juice bar in the front window and enjoy watching bikers go by. I would have given it 5 stars if the bike selection were broader. Maybe we shopped at the wrong time of year but we couldnt find any that suited us so we bought (2 lightweight hybrids for touring and a mountain bike) at another store. We would have been pleased to buy here because the mechanics were clearly dedicated to quality work! They were very willing to talk and help educate customers which is something we value. They were also great with our rambunctious boys. Overall - refreshing.
Good bike shop. Great place to stop for an iced coffee or beer along the W&OD trail
Ive tried a number of bike stores in the area over the years. Im not going to name names, but compared to what else Ive seen in the area, you will not find more reasonable people, prices, or stock. They have almost anything you could want and it doesnt cost an arm and a leg. The mechanics working on your bike arent overly salesy, they do the job right, and it takes very little time out of your day to have work done. The guy who worked on my bike today was bald with glasses, gave me straight answers and just did the work. Supremely happy with the work he did (I wish I got his name) and hope management takes notice.Oh, and they have beer. What more could you want in a bike shop?
Great Service. Friendly staff.
I went in looking for help on bike sizing and to inquire about availability, knowing they may be sold out like people are reporting. The guy who approached me asking if I needed help was one of the most unhelpful store associates Ive even had to interact with. He was abrupt and low-key rude in how he answered my questions in 1-2 words without offering any other kind of insight. I left thinking he had to actively try to be that unhelpful. This store clearly caters to the established cycling community.I wouldnt recommend going here if youre a novice trying to find a bike. The guys over at City Bikes in Adams Morgan, DC were actually beyond helpful. When I called to ask about a bike, I got useful recommendations on sizing, and they actually held a bike for me that I tried and bought that same day.
Tons of bikes and a great selection of accessories! Even coffee and beer!
There was an older gentleman who was very unhelpful and rude. He wasnt of any help and he wasnt interested in helping me. I regretted going to this shop. I am not an expert in bycyles but I expected the experts to help me but the older gentleman was unhelpful and impatient.
Amazing customer service and great product selection. Coffee is also extremely good. Highly recommend coming here
The coffee is great but the lemon bars and cookies are to die for. Also the people are friendly.
I believe this is one of the best bike shops in the area. I purchased a quality bike from there and the reps were extremely helpful and patient with me.They also serve delicious Italian cream sodas at the cafe there.
My bike chain had rusted terribly after a beach trip and I didn’t realize how badly it affected my ride until I had already left. I made it to my destination but it was rough going up hills with a bike cart and my two-year-old.. luckily, Green Lizard Cycling had experienced staff, quick service, friendly technicians, delicious coffee and a welcoming environment. They replaced my chain in less than 15 minutes and for less than $30 I was back on my bike (and caffeinated). :) Really appreciate the reasonable prices and the quick and high-quality service. My ride back was so much better.. what a difference! They really made my day. Thank you!
Great people. Always ready to help and experts in what they do. My go to place for bicycle service and repair.
The ice-coffee here is unparalleled. I have to stop here whenever I’m riding by. Love the atmosphere. Clovis helped me earlier this week, he’s the absolute best very friendly, professional, and helpful.
We drove out our way to come here. They are honest knowledgeable bike experts. Fixed my bike quick, and was very honest with the pricing - which is hard to find now a days. Shoutout to Matt.
Best place to get a bike fitting in the area.I havent had a professional bike fit in quite some time, so I brought mine in at the recommendation of friends. In just two hours Clovis adjusted my bike as well as he could, and suggested swapping some components out to allow him to fit the bike even better. The difference before and after this initial fit was very noticeable, and made my riding a lot more comfortable.About three weeks later I brought the bike in for a free adjustment to his original fit after swapping out some components as he suggested. The difference after the second fitting was just as noticeable as after the first. Im much more stable on my bike, and Im able to put down more power at the same effort. In fact, I clocked in an additional 15 watts of average power over a 5-hour ride with a slightly lower heart rate. Speed depends on a lot more factors, but based on him being able to get me slightly lower, I should have a slightly reduced CdA and faster speeds for the same effort. Well see how my next triathlon fares.
Great service & beverages!
Product pricing is completely asinine, as a first time cyclist, I was advised to buy one of their padded shorts, to reduce the effects of chaffing. The cheapest pair they had were $80, I found the same product online afterwards for less than $20. Should have kept the receipt. Highly recommend not purchasing apparel from this business, the prices are inexorbitant, and are meant to exploit those who are new to the sport, or who are otherwise not well informed.
They choose who to server in this store.. not friendly or helpful for new customers.. unlike other bike shops that Ive been to where they look for ways to solve problems.. the guy in the store acted like I had no choice but to be there.. Very poor customer services 100% DO NOT RECOMMEND.
A bit debating how many stars to give...so I stay in the middle....Well, obviously, this is a very convenient spot for riders on the O&D trail and the store provides many services to meet the need of every kind of riders, so, as first time visitor, I will not give bad review on this part.... This store is actually the only one provides the most thoughtful services I have ever seen in many bicycle stores.But...not sure was I too quiet or too foreign, the greeting from the owner was not as friendly as I expected. Kind of strong attitude. After visiting the store a bit and chat with the store owner a bit, I will say.....hum.....if you are road cycling enthusiastic, go this shop, you will see MANY, really, MANY high end road/gravel bicycles in this store and you will have nice up-to-date tech chat. You can even buy brand new Wilier frame (....... not a cheap frame if you know the market) right from the store, also brand new rim (aluminum, carbon). You can pretty much get your dream bicycle or upgrade/replace parts there right away as well. The store also provide building bicycle to meet your interest.I think they mostly carry Wilier, 3T, Specialized. Electric, MTB, gravel, road. This store also offer rental, for those who does not want to buy but just want to ride or some hours. Not sure if you can let people rent special models of interest.......Overall speaking, this is a true full service store to all bicycle riders, no matter what kind of need you have. Even if you just want some food or drink, or just want to upgrade your parts. From what I can tell, the owner keeps this shop very up to date.......... only wish they are also friendly to brand new visitors, not just nice to frequent customers. There are always new riders in the market.
We originally bought a bike here and have been coming here as a go-to before our bike rides. Decided to bring my bike (Cannondale SuperX) I bought second hand in to get serviced. Appointment is set for the 15th so will know more about their service after I get the bike back. But so far the shops and people have been beyond exceptional in fulfilling my bike needs.
Outstanding customer service! The people at Green Lizard are always there to help, provide advice and show you to ropes to cycling novices like us. They even went out of their way to help my three year old daughter find the right helmet, despite minutes after closing on a Friday. Will always recommend them to my friends interested in cycling.
Friendly service, great beer selection, and a convenient location along the Washington and Dominion Trail. Well worth a stop!
Great experience buying two new bikes for my wife and I. Clovis Anderson who does the bike fits was amazing and ensured that we are able to take advantage of what our new kit has to offer. The team in the shop are clearly passionate about cycling and know their stuff...which we saw over the past two weekends in the shop demoing bicycles and going through the fit. We really liked the laid back vibe and highly recommend both Clovis and the shop.
Beautiful place and very nice patient owner....Edited-Had few drinks from this place in the parking lot in front and then store closed. Than got beer from next door store, pounced on by Samaritans looking out for this place. Was sad by the sudden reaction by overzealous onlookers for a drink after store closed, in the parking lot. My bad, but humbled.Me overzealous(using word 2nd time :)) after 3 months of quarantine, didnt want to leave, cause place too beautiful!
My wife and I went into the Green Lizard bike shop to get my tire patched on June 15. We were directed to go to the rear of the store. On approaching the technicians there, we asked to have the tire patched. A middle aged tech responded. We then asked him if the store had any women’s bikes for sale. He responded, “prices start at $2000,” without even looking up to address us. It was clear that he did not want to spend the time to assist us, assuming perhaps that we would not be able to afford that. In looking at the reviews online it was evident that this the type of poor customer service is not unusual for this establishment. I did appreciate the friendly young man who actually patched my tire, but our experience with the older man left a bad taste in our mouths.
A first rate local bike shop with an excellent location right on the W & OD trail. The have very knowledgeable staff and an excellent selection of bikes at all ranges. The repair shop and fitting services are also at a very high level. All that is fine, bit Id be remiss in not mentioning the great coffee and service at the cafe. Im told the draft beers are also quite good, but Im always too early for that indulgence.
The cafe staff are very friendly and drinks are delicious. However, I agree with one of the reviews regarding being unhelpful towards beginners. Service was rushed, wanted to get on a bike and get sized but was just told my size. I was ready to purchase a bike that day but the service was terrible. Also, no one was wearing a mask in there. On to the next bike store.
Out for a ride from Ashburn w/the kids on a cold day in Nov. Youngest needed a new go fast bike. Green lizard had just what he needed and in the right size. Very friendly and knowledgeable staff willing to discuss other modifications Im considering on one of my other bikes. Coffee was good and hot on such a cold day. Rode home and returned later and purchased the new bike. This is very good bike store. No pressure, not in business to sell you something. These guys are here for the cyclists and are serious about helping you with what ever you need. Give them a visit if you are in Herndon, well worth the stop to meet and get a cup of coffee.
Great as usual. Very helpful on tire tube replacement.
Loved the customer service. Got to test ride the CAAD 13 bike I was looking for in no time. Best place to shop quality bikes.
Been in here a few times and even purchased (3) bikes from them in the past year however the older gentleman who seems to run the service area is just plain rude. Ive had it with the condescending remarks and will now be taking my business elsewhere.
First the service is awesome. Stop in a have some coffee and a cookie or buy a new bike. They have beer too but I have not had any. Second, the sales team is knowledgeable and will chat with you about bikes all day, keep in mind they get busy and there are a lot of people there at times.Second, I got a new fit. Clovis is a cycling genius. His insight was impressive and he is as friendly as they come. Go here if you need a fit, there is no other (I have been to others and there is no comparison).Lastly, I ordered my new bike (its two months out, apparently someone is riding it here from Italy, lol). The team was helpful and upfront with every option and worked within my budget as much as they could for what I was asking for. There are several shops closer, yet I go to the Green Lizard.**UPDATE. My bike came in and I picked it up. Clovis did a final fit test and I hit the road. Perfect fit, a lot more comfortable that my previous bike (mainly because it was built for me and the fit was perfect). The shop is great, the team is great, and they are still open through COVID-19. Stop in grab a coffee to go or better yet, get a new bike a ride at a socially acceptable distance. :)
Clovis is extremely knowledgeable and passionate about cycling. He is an outstanding professional when it comes to bike fitting, so much so that I make the 8 hour round trip specifically to be fit by him. Green Lizard has the right equipment and will do a 360 video of your cycling gait to help get you the best possible fit. They are a fully stocked with the right accessories to gear your bike up with what works best for you.
These guys are super awesome and very friendly
It was AMAZING Service Both Professional and Customer Service. . . My rear rim was gone and I thought it be a Day or two before I got it back in 20 minutes..The place is right off the W & O Bike Path in Down Town Herndon.I was there at 5:05 pm and was out by 5:33 pm maybe just luck but they a GREAT BUNCH of Guys...You have me as a Customer for life.Thank very Much.Juan A. H.
Bikes & beer & coffee, and they do all of it well. They appear at first glance to cater to the hard-core cyclist (which they obviously do), but they are very helpful with someone like me who comes in to rent a bike for a few hours. And then to relax with a beer from their wide selection tops the cake. A wonderful experience every time.
Great Shop! Customer service here is amazing. Once you meet the great people working here you will understand. The way the mechanic stopped everything to help me get back on the trail after a mechanical was truly amazing. Absolutely my go to shop from now on! Thanks for saving my ride.
Fantastic local joint right on W&OD. I took my abused TT and Gravel bikes for a deep clean service and loving this last week. Friendly, professional, and highly knowledgeable people who give a damn about you regardless of your level or age. Great vibe and great coffee. I discovered a “sludge”. Yes please. Will be my go to shop from now on. Bikes are running like silk, ready to be abused again. Thanks folks!
Well run, a bit pricey, very knowledgable staff
Was not satisfied. I was interested in getting a new bike but they did not have any available in my price range. They wanted me to test ride a bike that was similar and then possibly order a cheaper one based on that. While I am very new to cycling I can understand that testing driving an $1100 bike when i want a $600 one will leave me wanting when I get the final product.
They are awesome! They are really passionate about bikes and customer service. They sell a full range of high quality bikes from beach cruisers to TT bikes. They just love bikes and are NOT bike snobs. They always take care of me, whether working on my new race bike or my 1978 steel frame commuter. They are generally interested in helping out. Theyve always been extremely friendly and helpful. Theyre smoothies are great too!
Great location right next to the bike path. Friendly staff. Very convenient and quaint coffee bar with snacks (I highly recommend the chocolate chip cookies). Also serves beer. And, of course lots of bikes and accessories.
Bad rim tape kept flatting tubes - Green Lizard had us fixed and on our way in no time
Great customer service 👍 they definitely have a nice bike selection
