I went to go buy a bike since I needed a new one. I originally went to green lizard off the bike trail but they were rude, stuck up, unhelpful, and overpriced. When I went here though, it was relaxed friendly and helpful. The prices were fair and reasonable too. If your looking for a new or used bike get it from here.
Honestly, while Im excited to have my new e-bike, the service could have been better. I just bought my new e-bike today and although the employee was helpful (once I got someones attention) the bicycle was not prepared properly according to Specialized. Also, there appears to be 67 miles on the bicycle, although it is said to be new and there are firmware updates that were not done before delivery. Now I need to bring the bike back to the store (travel time is 45 minutes one way). As a new e-bicycle owner, I would have appreciated thorough step by step instruction. The bicycle also had an incorrect price tag on the bicycle, which turned out to be off by several hundreds of dollars. The owner approved a discount because of a slight smudge on the frame, but nowhere close to the price that was listed on the tag. Granted, I could have walked out, but the excitement of getting an e-bike had me ignore some of these concerns. Overall, disappointed. Hopefully service will get better in time.
This is one of the best bike shops in the area. The repair center is right out on the floor, which promotes transparency and knowledge sharing with the community. The staff is always friendly and knowledgeable. Their prices are fair. Top notch bike shop period.
These guys are great to work with! We had them tune up one of our bicycles. Reasonable price, fast service!
Ive grown up coming to A1 in Herndon my entire life. I got my first BMX bike here when I was 13 and first full suspension mountain bike in 2020. The shop staff are very friendly and knowledgeable. They have always been helpful answering any of my questions. Ill never go anywhere else.
I was checking my bike the night before a long ride and noticed I had a flat rear tire! It was five minutes to closing when I called A-1 Cycling in a panic because Im training for a 500+ mile cancer fundraising ride and my practice rides are very important. I explained my situation and they said I could come by if I brought my bike immediately. Al, one of their knowledgeable mechanics, replaced my rear tire with a spare tube I had, taught me how to recognize a leak, AND showed me how to fix a flat in an emergency since I was unfamiliar with my new-ish type of tires. He ended getting stuck about 25 minutes past closing to help me. Businesses like A-1 are important to have in our communities because that type of service is rare these days. They have also helped me replace other bike parts and made necessary tweaks to keep me safe. I highly recommend their shop for your cycling needs.
These guys are awesome - super knowledgeable and they were able to repair my husbands bike quickly efficiently with a few extra recommendations. Plus, they helped me carry it to the car with two little kids and took the front tire off for easy transport. Highly recommend!
Update from previous review. I was finally able to get in touch with Jeff by phone as it seems store was having technical problems with phone system. Bicycle was returned and store apologized for oversight in the amount of mileage on bicycle as well as oversights on day of delivery. Purchased same bicycle at different store which was built of the box.
Staff was very helpful and responsive and answered all of our questions and at the end helped and showed how to put the bike in our sedan.
Im completely loyal to this shop, A1 has helped me through my entire mtb journey with numerous repairs, upgrades, recommendations, and just an all around chill yet professional atmosphere. Especially once you get to know the guys, its a dependable reliable shop. Despite having moved to WV I still make the 1.5hr drive just to come here.
Customer service is still alive in the United States! Colin drove all the way to my house--in the cold and dark (during a pandemic, no less!)--and fixed a problem with my bike, which had recently been serviced at A-1 Cycling. Unbelievably, he refused to charge me a dime, though I was happy to pay. In addition to the repair, Colin gave me excellent advice on proper maintenance. He is a wealth of cycling knowledge. I will happily give all of my business to A-1 Cycling. Thanks, Colin!
These guys are great. Went in and explained my problem, the tech let me know what the problem was and that it didnt need any fixing. They fixed an unrelated issue at a very reasonable price. Definitely recommend, everyone is very friendly.
The employees at A1 cycling are simply the best. In 2018, I started commuting to work via bicycle and needed an entry level road bike, and Ben at A1 sold me my very first one. Ben educated me on all of the nuances on the bike, large and small, and even took the time out to explain to me about the importance of cadence matching whilst road biking vice simply mashing and thrusting the pedals. Ben is an excellent mechanic and bears no qualms in ensuring that the customer is satisfied. He is very attentive and greets his customers upon entering the store. He treats A1 as if it were his home and does his best to welcome everyone in the most inclusive way possible. As I progressed in skill, I had to have a custom wheel built, and Colin did more than an amazing job in explaining to me why I needed a custom wheel (I kept blowing spokes) and the importance of having a bike fit, and what a difference the wheel and the fit made! His recommendations to bike upgrades were well worth the investment - the rides are more comfortable now, and certain parts of my body no longer ache and hurt as they once did.I wouldn’t go anywhere else.
Bona Fide shop through and through. Very professional staff, and most importantly, theyre all personable and not pushy salespeople. Dont be dismissive of the youngsters working there; youll be surprised at how knowledgable they are!Colin is the consummate pro -- his wheel building skills are second to none. Just had him lace up some NOX Falkors to a set of Project 321s for my gravel bike, and they look absolutely sick! I just beat on them this afternoon, and both rims are still perfectly true.Ive had a hiccup or two in the 15 years Ive been shopping there. But when they make a mistake, its clear that the owners have passed on their mantra to make things right at any cost. Because of this, Im an A1 customer for life!
Phenomenal service, quite responsive and knowledgeable staff!! A1 is my go to bicycle shop in the last few years for accessories and service. Once I took my road bike in and they inspected it and told me I didn’t need anything and only have to change the chain in few months. I was surprised to walk away without paying anything. Who does that? This time, I wanted to buy a new Gravel bike and I emailed many stores across NOVA and didn’t want to go to the shops in person if they don’t have a bike in stock first of all. Colin from A1 was the first and only one to respond and continue the conversation over email with prompt replies. I was stoked to know that the bike was in stock in my size and went to the store same day. After weighing the options, I chose to upgrade for better components without anyone pushing yet giving me expert advice. Royce fit me with bike, I took it for a test ride and fell in love with it. I spent for a bike fit for a previous bike elsewhere, and Royce got it in few minutes looking at me on the bike. Wow! Thank you Royce, Woody and most of all Colin for making an awesome bike buying experience in COVID times. Speechless!!!
A-1 is the best local bike shop in VA. They will work with you to put you on the right bike at the right price. The staff are cyclists, so they know their stuff and genuinely care about bikes and cyclists. Excellent shop for service. Rebuilt my old wheels to perfection and returned them to me in only 1 or 2 business days. Ordered my new bike, got it here quickly, and expertly assembled it same-day. The manager is also a heck of a tour guide if you ever need to shred MTB trails nearby. They go above and beyond.
I stood in the store for several minutes before I was helped and when I was finally noticed I was asked to wear a face diaper.I dont like playing politics, so I took my money elsewhere
Love this LBS, a few mins away from my home. Family owned and staff is always super helpful. I love the fact that they bring in young folks to do the work and train along the way. It bought my bike from them and they have taken care of me since then. Highly recommended.
Totally useless staff. Unlike their advertised services they cannot custom build anything more complicated than a tricycle.
Poorly trained staff, exceptionally rude. I have been to Spokes in Leesburg and I regret not going there again. The tech did not even know how to put on a bike seat and when he tried to fix it he messed it up again.
Really friendly and eager to assist, even when busy. The staff always has a positive attitude and did a great job working on my bike.
I went here for a bike assembly. The guy wanted to charge me $110 and it would take a week to complete. Went to another bike shop where they were able to do it for $25. They definitely wanted to rip me off
I had a problem with a bike tire and needed a new inner tube. The shop had several customers and several employees. It didnt take more than a minute for an employee to ask what I needed. He took the tire and had a new inner tube installed in minutes. I was impressed by the speed of the service. My only issue was that I wasnt quoted a price or asked if I could do it myself. The $10 labor was worth the price, but I would have liked to know the price before the work began.
So quick with repairs at an honest price.
Some awesome peeps here!Super friendly and super helpful as always!
These guys know their stuff. Always professional. Visited them today, was happy with their customer service.
They broke my new bike before it even came off the showroom floor and then wanted to still sell it at the original price. When they came to me with the issue, after I had been waiting for over an hour, the employee was more interested in making sure I knew it wasn’t HIS fault, rather than making sure he was providing good customer service. It became clear that they do not have any quality checks for the service they provide. Unprofessional teenagers work in the store - I witnessed their arrogant and demeaning attitude toward a customer who was obviously a very experienced cyclist. After this experience I cancelled my order for the new bike - there is no way I would trust them to service my bike. The manager had little interest in feedback on the abysmal performance of his employees. Very poor experience.
My name is Maddison. I came in to this bike shop yesterday, with my friend. We weren’t sure what exact bike we were looking for, all we know is we want bikes that can ride on the street, beach, and mountain riding. We were so pleased with Royce, the guy that was helping us! He was so knowledgeable, and patient with us asking questions. I just want whoever owns this place to know, they have a great employee representing their company. Thank you!
Professional, knowledgeable staff that does not up-sell. The pricing is very reasonable and the turnaround is extremely quick. I am an new rider but was never made to feel like one. No need to look anywhere else.
These guys are really cool. I bought a used bike off Craigslist and they adjusted the derailleur about 3 times until it worked properly. They made it look easy and didnt charge me anything. I will probably go out of my way to do business with them in the future.
Thank you for the incredibly fast & efficient adjustment to my ebike today Merick. Now Im ready to go and adventure. I appreciate the absolute BEST customer service around the area. Will be back soon.
Great service! They know what they’re doing. Highly would recommend.
Hands down the best cycling shop in NoVA! I was desperately looking for a local bike shop after Performance Bike closed and A1 is now my No. 1 choice and favorite. Every sales associate is extremely patient with allll of my questions, and every visit I feel like Im the only customer. Superb, quality, friendly and knowledgeable customer service. Keep up the great work!
Poor service. Waiting on other people that came in after me. Was not helpful when interested in buying a bike and had no available bikes to buy. Never will go there again.
I do not feel comfortable going back to this store in Herndon, because of the experience. HIGHLY UNPROFESSIONAL, THREATENING and HOSTILE ENVIRONMENT, thats my experience. Most guys in this store are courteous and professional though they look impatient and uninterested in helping. And lack communication skills. Two folks we worked with yesterday and today were NOT PROFESSIONAL by any means based on my interaction. In fact one of them was MEAN and THREATENING.I bought two new bikes from this store Sunday and experienced horrible customer service the very next day.I have written an email to the owner explaining the details of the incident and waiting for a reply on the next steps.
After calling multiple bike shops that I need a tune up on my bike, A-1 cycling told me to stop by with the bike and they will check it out. Couple hours later I arrived, they immediately took my bike to the back. I told them I didnt ride my bike for couple of years.10minutes later all done and they didnt even charge me. They said that my bike was not in a bad shape.Other places I called, they said they would be available in a month to tune up my bike (!!!).If I will ever need to buy a bike. I will buy it here.
David was very helpful the moment we walked in. David was extremely informative and took his time with us, especially because we are beginners. We got sized and got on a few bikes. We did not feel rushed and most of the staff were wearing masks. Complete opposite service from the unhelpful staff at that Green Lizard bike shop.
Big shout out to Jake Bentley and the A1 cycle crew for giving me the 5 star treatment. Thrse guys are very knowledgeable, patient and provide a great overall experience.
Nice shop . Friendly service, not pretentious like other shops. Got two new bikes. In and out in 30 mins. Would shop there again.
Royce helped me pick out my first bike ever! Great store with knowledgeable and friendly staff!
We arrived here in the Virginia area from Michigan getting ready to do the C&O towpath and GAP Trail too Pittsburgh and we soon realized we had an issue with one of the bikes and A-1 cycling was awesome they hooked us up got us ready for this trip! Big shout outs to the team!!
Ive purchased two bikes from A-1 and have always been pleased.
The most amazing customer service of any store. I love these guys.
The staff are incredibly excited about cycling, and interested in getting others to share that passion. Bike prices are fair, and there is a huge selection. On top of it, they really understand what you may be looking for. Our son was looking to size up, and they recommended (and helped get him comfortable with) a larger bike so that we wouldnt be in having to up size again within a year. Trade in values for old bikes stink, but that is true everywhere, and most places dont even take trades anymore. Weve now purchased three bikes from them over the years, and will continue to come back.
Pretty good experience shopping at this store. Roy was really helpful and worked with me even though I stayed past closing time.
Took in my Specialized Crossroads for shifter adjustment. First time in a shop for this 20 year old bike. In and out in 30 minutes. Works great. Will definitely return when service is required.
Great service, great rates/prices, knowledgeable staff. Repeat customer for sure.
First of all, really good bike shop. The employee(s)/employer(s) really works with you to help you find the right bike. They told a recommendation for the size and type. Splendid job guys!!!!
A-1 Cycling has great staff. The people that work on the bikes are very knowledgeable and work speedily. I brought in a older Townie and they were as attentive to my needs as they would be for a $5,000 bike. Great store.
I will start by providing some background, I have been ridding BMX for over 15 years and am pretty knowledgeable about bike repair for the most part. I had recently bought New rims, hubs, and spokes and was able to lace them up easily. However, I have never mastered the art of truing out a wheel, for that I had to go to a bike shop. Living in Woodbridge, I looked for the closest bike shop near my home which was Olde Towne Bicycles. When I dropped my wheels off Steve had a bit of an Attitude and was mildly abrasive, I said nothing because I just wanted my wheels taken care of and I am very understanding of their situation currently: out of stock and overwhelmed with the amount of people coming in. I get it. When going in to pick my wheels up, They were able to true the front wheel for me but stated they were unable to true the back wheel because “the spoke sizes are wrong”, despite the fact that I did all my research prior to purchase of the spokes to ensure I had the correct sizing. They then told me it would be best to just have them build the wheel using all new spokes they would source. I was told this would cost me $215+ for a single wheel! It was obvious that they were trying to turn a $20 truing job into a $215+ job by misinforming me. What was also obvious was that who ever attempted to true the back wheel didn’t know what the hell they were doing and actually scratched these brand new rims. One whole side of the wheel was tightened down so much some of the spokes were stripped out, almost warping this rim to the point being unusable. Some spokes were so damaged by them they had to be replaced, good thing I had a few extra. Thankfully I was smart enough not to take the bait and took it to another shop for a second opinion. I went to A-1 cycling bikes here in Woodbridge and spoke with their bike Tech Marcus. Marcus immediately confirmed what I thought, the spoke sizes were correct and wheel was so over tighten on that one side that it had to be loosened ASAP in order to preserve the structural integrity of the rim. Marcus was empathetic and explained to me that their best wheel tech was Colin who worked at the Herndon location. Today called ahead and spoke with Jake who was awesome! He told me to come right in and that they would be able to help me same day. I Drove down there, which is about 50 minutes from my house, and met with Colin. Colin was amazing and told me I had in fact had the correct spoke sizes! He complimented me on my ability to lace a rim and quickly got to work. He was able to true out the wheel and was so nice and professional. I cannot express how happy I am with the service provided at BOTH A-1 cycling bike shops. **if you want your bike needs taken care of by Competent, compassionate, and professional people, go to A-1! The whole staff was awesome, if I could give you a 10 star rating I would. Thank you guys so much! Sorry for the novel-length review.
Went in today and needed my crank replaced. They had the part on hand and were able to replace it for me in less than 20 minutes. The price was already very reasonable and then they offered me a military discount on top. A-1 is my new one-stop shop for all my bike needs. Thanks!
I brought my three-year-old grandson in to get fitted for his first real bike in the Herndon store...Royce came up to us right away and treated us like royalty. He carefully fitted Eli on both the seat and handlebars, stood him over the top tube to make sure the bike was the right height for him, adjusted the seat and moved the bars a little closer to him. Then Royce taught Eli Pedaling 101 around the store to try it out. He then took the bike back to the workbench to make sure all the parts were tight and the bike was safe and ready to launch. He let Eli watch and talked to him man-to-man the whole time. After an easy checkout he walked us and the bike to our car and loaded it in for us.Thank you for an exquisite experience. We’ll be back and will send business your way. Let me know if you need a reference, gladly given.Laurie DiSantoMelbourne, FL
Best shop around. Great group working in there and a lot of knowledge of bikes and local riding spots. Not pushy at all.
Great shop. I called looking for something the other day, they confirmed it was in stock and actually put eyes on it. I went to pick it up, was greeted as soon as I walked in and was handed exactly what I was looking for. Excellent customer service.
Perfect little bike shop. Came in to get a new chain and the guys in there were awesome. Staff was extremely professional and at no point made me feel ignorant. I will never go to another bike shop as long as this ones still around!
A decent Specialized dealer with great service. They dont seem to stock S-Works models, but they can custom order parts and equipment. Their clothing section has better variety than other bike shops in the area and the equipment selection has the basics. They also offer military discounts on some purchases.
A-1 Cycling is an amazing buisness that provided high quality customer service and vast cycling experience! I purchased my first road bike from A-1 Cycling, and although im new to the sport, all the employees treated me with respect and as if ive been cycling for years! Hands bown the best cycling spot in Northern VA! I also want to give a special shout out to A-1s GM Colin! Colin did a road bike fitting for me and let me tell you, all my back and neck pain is gone! I can ride for 30 to 50 miles with no pain at all! And my overall performance has increased dramatically! avant wait to get an bike upgrade next year! see you all soon!Josh
Great service, good prices for the mid-high level of service provided. I busted a tube and they fixed it for under $20 in 15 minutes. It popped on my ride out, and they replaced it immediately for free. Quick, friendly, knowledgeable staff. Cute dog too!
Expensive, paid $40 for replacing one brake wire for kids bike. Almost half the cost of the bike.
Bought two new bikes here, loved the staff. All of them were friendly and informative. Never felt pressured to buy anything or felt pressured to buy a specific brand or extra bells and whistles. They were helpful in special ordering the bike I wanted. Definitely will go back for any biking needs.
This is the best experience I have ever had with a bike shop. They treated me with respect even though Im not a serious cyclist and helped me determine what I need. They have been so friendly and helpful every time Ive been there that I will probably go there for things (accessories) I could get elsewhere, just because they have earned my loyalty. And they could have taken a LOT of my money because I was willing to spend, but they didnt take advantage of that. They are great.
Went to several places looking for the right bike for me. Should have just gone here first! Royce was super helpful and set everything up for me. I love my new bike!
Best shop in the area, in my opinion. By far. For starters, theyre really friendly; I never got any of the stereotypical bike shop attitude from them. Very welcoming. Second, the shop guys are great and happy to help in a pinch. Messed up my FD one night tuning my bike before an early morning ride the next day. I sped over and they made the simple fix and showed me what I did wrong. That willingness to help/teach is so unusual. (I just wish they carried Santa Cruz!)
I saw round, PLASTIC promotions for A-1 Cycling STAPLED to TREES along the bike paths in the amazing wooded area of Lake Fairfax park. Please- keep our green spaces free from mind-numbing advertisements! I will not support your business since you do not support the natural beauty of our community.
So Ive called several bike shops today as I just moved into the area, I have a Specialized Venge that was packed for shipping and needed someone to place the handlebars on and the wheels and ensure the shifting and brakes are good. This is an easy thing to do at home if my tools were not overseas.Anyways after wasting my time at the Others Guys shall we say I called A-1 Cycling and got ahold of Jake and explained what I had going on. Jake told me to common in as long as it was as straight forward as I was saying should not be a problem. However if there was an issues he could not be able to fix it until Wednesday as he is booked up thanks to the global pandemic.Best part he was almost a hundred dollars cheaper than the Other Guy (I think they were trying to rip me off! The Other Guy also made it clear he did not like Specialized or at least the Venge.)The whole team at A-1 Cycling was very professional. Collin and a couple of the guys invited me to go out riding sometime. They also told me about the Reston cycling club to meet other people to go on rides with.Jake and the guys at A-1 thank you for doing me a solid and getting my bike done same day.
Nice bike shop and good service.
Royce guided me through all the steps to fix an issue with my bike he’s super cool and friendly you’ll be helped completely if he takes care of you this whole place is awesome. Will be coming back. Possibly get my next bike from here.
Been going here for service and advice for 12 years. The humans here are passionate about what they do, and more importantly are invested in the lifeblood of their business—you and me. Easily my number one recommendation for your cycling needs.
Great prices and a nice selection. The service however was horrendous. I was helped by a younger gentlemen who was going to give me a test drive on a bike. He just needed to adjust it for a ride and get me a helmet.I proceeded to wait 15 minutes while he answered the phone, rang another customer up, and helped another customer with a question. There were many other employees but apparently they were too busy and i wasnt important enough as his initial customer. I took my business elsewhere and bought the same bike for a higher price because I actually received service.
Been here several times. Very unprofessional service. Brought in a department store bike that needed several things corrected. Same day I got bike back the brakes didnt work correctly. So, shoddy work. The supervisor didnt want want to make any corrections and chastised me for buying a used bike. Literally high school kids working on bikes. Do yourself a favor, go to Spokes in Fairfax. That place is much more professional and they fix it correctly the first time.
Visited this store few times and getting to know this store more. I am willing to give 5 star. This shop is not too big as the Spokes Etc. in Leesburg, but for the local bicycle shop, A-1 cycling is a store decent enough for you to spend some time around. This shop sells many types of bicycles, MTB (mostly AM or CX, do not remember seeing DH type), road, gravel, Triathlon, electric MTB. This store carries Specialized, Giant, Yeti, Liv, Pivot. They used to also carry the British brand, felt, but now due to supplier management change, they stop selling felt brand bicycle, but you can still find the brand new left over models if you are into this brand (I saw one....kind of interested in buying it..but it was a female frame.......had to give up). This store also take trade in and buy in if you have old bicycle want to exchange for a new one. I think they also buy in old bicycles for others who just need a bicycle but not willing to spend big money. They shop also provide bicycle service and parts. I learned a lot new bicycle information from the mechanic Ros (I may spent his name wrong...) before I built my own MTB.
Fantastic bike shop. Big thanks to Hasaan for helping me choose the perfect road bike seat. He took the time to get me sized right and tell me all the differences between each seat they had (which they have a lot!). Great customer service.
These guys rock--no nonsense and give great advice. Colin is one of the most honest folks Ive ever met--kudos to him for steering me right. They didnt just try to sell me a bike to get it out of the shop (as another shop did to me), but made sure I had all the right information and listened to what I wanted and we got the right bike for me. These are now my go to guys for biking.
Had a broken crank at Fountainhead and thought my ride was over. Rod was extremely helpful with the fix that got me back in time for a lap. Can’t say enough good things about this shop! Thanks again!
This bike shop has one of the least friendly/rude managers of any store anywhere, the mechanic goes along with his boss to be with the same aptitude as well as laziness. The young guy attending the front of the store is superb in all aspects of business. He helped Them earn 2 stars.
Can’t say enough great things about the A-1 Herndon team. Just bought a new bike (Giant Escape 2) and they answered all my questions, made great recommendations on a lock and headlight and gave the bike a once over to ensure it was ride ready. Plus, the next day they installed my bike stroller attachment at no extra charge. If you need a bike you won’t find a better combination of service and price.
Great support and help. I took my bike there and they have provided great support even after multiple visits. Always go above the bar, very knowledgeable, get atmosphere and staff.Definitely consider them my go to shop for bike maintenance, purchase and accessories.
Big shout out and thanks to the entire team at A1Cycling for helping me complete my dream build. This is the best bike shop this side of the universe. Down to Earth, honest and always willing to help you out. You guys are amazing.
My son Jake was looking for a bike he looked online and found a bike that he liked looked everywhere for it and could not find it online so we decided to check locally we checked out at store A-1 cycling in Herndon Not only did they have the bike that he was looking for but they also have it in the color he was looking for service was wonderful can’t think the guys there enough it’s great to be able to shop locally definitely where we will be getting our next purchase from thanks again guys Jim and jake Coleman
I can’t find a better place than here to get my skate board the staff is great they know how to start a conversation
I have been there before they usually are good but that one time I received Terrible service. They took my bicycle to fix they were working on other Bikes on other customers who came after me then they told me to come back later a 30 minuets to pick up my bike that 30 minutes now turn into 3 days waiting. You guys could do better
Bought a Yeti SB140 from A-1 and had an issue with the rear derailleur failing/breaking in the middle of my first ride. The guys at A-1 got me up and running in less than 24 hours with a new derailleur! They even ordered me touch up paint from Yeti to fix the scratches caused by the failing derailleur. Cant get better service than that!
Stopped in with a front brake issue on my Trek bike. Jake was able to look at it, get it fixed, and on my way within a few minutes. As I was waiting to be served, I could see the employees take the time to talk to and engage what the customer is doing in their riding experiences and asking questions to diagnose bike issues.I will be back for any more maintenance or repair issues.
The guys at A-1 Cycling are very knowledgeable. Theyre easy to talk to and give excellent recommendations for kids bikes.
No warranty on a used bike ?!! Atleast basic warranty ?
DO NOT recommend this place AT ALL. Wanted a new chain installed for a bike, the high school teenager who never had any experience was given the task, he installed the chain but forgot to tighten the derailleur, he seemed to struggle for some time, so the owner took over and worked on it. Charged me $55 (including new chain) for a $100 bike and the derailleur broke during the first 10 minutes of my first ride out of the store.NEVER EVER want to go to this place. Poor quality work done by teenage kids with no experience!
Wonderful staff and great service. Ive been a customer since 1998. They have never let me down.
My family has been shopping here for years. In that time weve bought bikes, components, gear, clothing and several types of upgrade/repair services all around mountain and road biking. In fact Ive still got a Gary Fisher Gitche Gumee I bought here in the late 90s, its still a great ride! This store, year after year is consistently one of the better bike stores in the area, yes I visit them all.Id highly recommend them if youre in need of anything bike related. Support your local bike shops!
Excellent store and employees, i was not able to find correct pump to fill air in my kids small bicycle they took extra effort spent 20 mins and filled the air . Also explained me everything, all this was done for the cost of one high five :-) Would love to visit this store again.
Very friendly and accommodating! Interested in what the customer needs and willing to educate and work with you
Only shop i go to around this area, great service but what makes these guys stand out is their honestly and the fact that they never try to sell you some unnecessary service or charge you for some bs
Bought a city hybrid from them 10 years ago and its my urban utility vehicle - i regularly drop in for service. the staff is knowledgeable and the repairs are professional (tho i did once have a problem with a loose wheel after a repair - but you should always check your bike over when getting it back from the shop).i like the idea of a local shop run by folks who cycle, rather than the chain stores.
Very polite and informative staff !!! Amazing service !
Always great service. Never pushy and reasonable rates.
Fast, friendly, extremely knowledgeable.
Update 8/2/2016-Jacob called today to apologized and asked what they could do to rectify the issue. Jacob understood my frustrations. We came to an agreement on compensation. He asked if I wanted a full refund but I declined because I still have the parts. I requested just the labor costs be refunded. He agreed. Im upgrading my rating from 1 to 3 stars based on the fact that they reached out to me. Rating still reflects the quality of service I received.Customer service would be rated at 5 stars.Took my custom painted wheels to get spokes. Really disappointed with the quality of work. The paint is chipped in numerous places. It looks like the tools that were used was carelessly banging the rims. When I first brought the rims in I specifically mentioned it were custom painted and to be carefull. It was Colin who built it. Another note is that one rim the spokes length were too long so he ended up having to dremmel the length down which he claimed just marred the paint but he actually grinder into the metal. I was compensated $40 off the $340 price tag which included $75 each wheel for labor, spokes and nipple. $40 is nowhere near the cost of my labor to try and repair the paint damage. This was a very unprofessional job. Feel like I got robbed.
Experienced bike shop who take care of their customers
