Very creative and interesting bagel experience! A very busy place around lunchtime, on a Saturday. Still, the staff were very professional, friendly, and efficient. I was able to place and pay for my entire order on a standalone touchscreen menu, which was very easy to read and understand. They have lots of fresh bagels here, with both breakfast and lunch offerings. The one in the photo is a chicken salad sandwich on a cheddar cheese bagel, with a side of potato salad and a large drink. Look at all that bacon!! Yummmmm!!

Excellent food, excellent taste. Nice and cozy place to sit outside and enjoy. Please try the veggie omelette it’s the best. Make sure you know what to order when it’s your turn... you will get looks if you delay your order...this place is packed in the weekends, u can always order online and pickup.

I got a blueberry bagel with vanilla and walnut cream cheese to go. It was VERY delicious. The shop itself is so quaint and the bagel was delicious. The price is cheap too so you cant go wrong. 10/10 would recommend!

An awesome breakfast stop with all abiding pandemic regulations& socially distanced dine-in and outdoor seating options. Must visit gourmet bagel place with a mind whopping variety of flavors of cream cheeses and bagels. We ordered the breakfast omelettes which come with a buttered& toasted bagel of your choice- Greek(with spinach&feta cheese) and veggie omelettes (with roasted veggies), with sun dried tomato and onion bagels. We also got extra jalapeno garlic& garlic&herb cream cheese. All ingredients and fresh and flavorful!

We were there when they were incredibly crowded with lines to every register. We got 4 bagel sandwiches and beverages guys the kiosk order and everything came out fine and very quickly. Impressed with the staff, sandwiches were good too.

Cool place for bagels. They offer SO many different cream cheese flavors and combos (salmon, jalapeños, spinach, sun dried tomatoes, veggies, garlic and herbs, etc).They serve it either open faced (so both sides of the bagel have toppings) or closed like a sandwich.The actual selection for bagels is also so much! Great variety and very fresh.There’s also a small variety of baked goods.I got a bear claw and an everything bagel with plain cream cheese and let me tell you, they do NOT skimp on the cream cheese!Great place, great prices, great flavors.

Know your limitations, and communicate themI love the bagel cafe, and I wish this review could be better. On my most recent visit I was told my order may take as long as 30 minutes - no problem, I can afford that much time. However, it ACTUALLY took 1 hour and 15 minutes. Not only that, parts of the order were the wrong bagels and one sandwich contained bits of egg shell. Clearly the restaurant was overwhelmed and crowded. These things are understandable. What is not is the lack of transparency with timing and the carelessness of the food preparation. As a result, I was late to a wedding dress fitting and some of the orders were not even delivered to the individuals who asked as they had to leave after an hour of waiting. This was beyond reasonable and had I been told an appropriate wait time I would not have ordered. I am disappointed in the bagel cafes recent way of handling customers. I will likely return; however, I hope the value in transparency and honest expectations are learned and improved on. If you are not able to handle a certain capacity, please limit your capacity to a manageable amount. Sacrificing your food quality, correctness, and the addition of extreme delays is a wonderful way to lose future business. I hope this does not re-occur, second chances are a one time opportunity. Hoping to see the regular 5 star service return soon!

Ive given this place a ton of chances. Ive ordered through UberEats, ordered online, ordered in person, ordered on a Saturday, ordered on a random boring Tuesday.....A. I have not once received food that was hot.B. I ask for Double Toasted every single time... it comes out less than lightly toasted.Im not really sure what to do anymore other than stop giving them my money & stop going. If I need like, just bagels, I will absolutely still come here to pick up a half or dozen bagels, but for bagel sandwiches? Its gonna be a no, unfortunately.

The employees here are very nice and courteous. The food is good too but overly sweet for my taste and the price is a bit high for the quality of food I received. The chicken salad sandwich and the bagels seem to have something to make it much more sweeter that expected, almost as if there was added sugar to the recipes..

The best Bagels in this area hands down. Large selection of spreads and sandwiches. The Staff is great and always cheery. Make sure that youre not on the telephone when you approach the counter, they give you their undivided attention.. do the same for them please.

I’ve gone to this cafe since I was in high school - I love it. Always fresh, amazing flavors and that are unique. I usually just get my favorite blueberry bagel with raspberry cream cheese toasted. Perfect & simple. I have tried their sandwiches before which are yummy! Whenever I bring a bagel to work people are always mesmerized by the pink cream cheese and purple bagel 😂

Bagel Cafe’s service is unforgivably slow. We waited 50 minutes for our bagels this morning, and by the time we received them, they were cold. There is absolutely NO REASON why it anyone should have to wait nearly an hour for a bagel. We have tried this place several times over the last 2 years and it is the same horrible experience every single time. We will never return.

Omlettes are awesome. Alot of food for your money. Omlettes come with a bagel and home fries and food is very hot, even when doing carry-out. 20x here, never a bad item.

I am more than fine with waiting and getting terse customer service in a busy deli-style environment. But in my first visit to this one the wait and rudeness was not worth the bland, disappointing food. 15 minutes after placing an order on a kiosk, an employee asked me if I was waiting for an online order and I said no, a kiosk order but can she please check. She walked away without getting my name or order number never to be seen again. I walked up to a different employee several minutes later and asked for an update on my order number. As soon as another customer asked her for something else she never acknowledged me again. I walked up to a register and even standing right in front of it, the cashier deliberately tried to ignore me and take someone elses order but I spoke up and asked for an order update or refund. When my order finally came out the bagel was missing cream cheese. When I walked up to someone to ask for it, before I could say anything she said “your order is being made now” and tried to walk away and I had to tell her that I already had my food and needed cream cheese. The cheddar bagel and eggs each had no flavor.

The order was not correct. I ordered a sandwich and received eggs. The cookies are deceptively bad. You would think a sugar cookie would be easy enough but it did not taste good. If you are going to spend your money on a bagel, you would be better off making yourself.

One of the best places in Herndon, VA that has amazing breakfast, eggs taste like they out of a farm! Be aware tho, it gets busy on Sundays, so plan accordingly.

My weekend is incomplete without starting off their bagels. I love their butter toasted bagel with flavored cream cheese. My all time favorite is raisin bagel with blueberry cream cheese.

Bagel was good, coffee (espresso) was stale. The lady at the counter was trying to deny that the coffee was stale.

Love this place! Bought a half dozen bagels a few days ago- finished the last one yesterday and my husband ended up finishing it after I had only taken a bite! We have plans to go restock today 🥯.

On a whim I decided that I wanted to try this place and it was the best decision ever! I love their 2 egg meat with cheese bagel, I usually get the onion bagel and some garlic and herb cream cheese on the side. This past weekend I tried the chocolate chip bagel with raspberry light cream cheese and it made me a sweet bagel lover again! I highly recommend checking this place out, ordering online is easy and they have wonderful customer service. It’s my Sunday morning ritual going here and getting some bagels.

Spent 20 minutes waiting on a begal with cream cheese and a breakfast sandwich. People who ordered after me got their food first. When I brought this to the attention of 2 of the employees, the first one disappeared and did nothing, and then the other gave an excuse of their being a begal with cream cheese on the order and the whole thing got lost. Really?! The food is good, but to wait 20 minutes for 2 easy items is ridiculous and honestly not worth it. Others after me had more items on their orders and were getting their food before me. They really need to get a better system in place or someone managing food production during peaks so these issues dont arise. I want to also point out Ive not been here before, and this experience has me not wanting to come back.

I enjoy the Caesar wrap with the latte for lunch. The orange juice is freshly squeezed every day. The bagels are amazing for breakfast as well. One of my favorite date places to go with my husband.

Not a friendly place to go. The manager is nasty to clients and customers. Perhaps I didn’t meet the requirements or deserve a bagel for breakfast. There plenty of other places nearby that are happy to accommodate and that have much better service, food, and prices. Take the time to look elsewhere snd avoid this place at all costs.

Crowded but good food

Solid bagels, but the cream cheeses are where they really shine. The bacon jalepeno is savory, salty and has just the right bite. The sundried tomato is incredibly flavorful. The vanilla is almost like icing - great for a sweet treat. My only complaint? The lox gets pricey fast.

If you go on a weekend, it will be crowded. The line moves fast and the bagel you get will surely be worth it. This is hands down the best bagel place in this part of Fairfax County. Its the perfect balance of soft and crunchy, with good flavor and a great texture. Theres enough cream cheese on a bagel to drown you, though, so be warned.

I usually always go here for weekend brunch and get an omelet with bagel and cream cheese.Wide range of options for bagels and cream cheeses. The omelets are so delicious and come with home fries.Definitely recommend Southwest omelet.. the best barbecue sauce I ever had.

About 90% of the time when I order my bagel toasted and buttered the bagel is not buttered. The manager who I spoke with needs to work on his customer service skills and train staff to read orders properly.

This place has a large section at a reasonable price. If you go mid- morning all is good, however, peak times results in no seating and feeling like you are always in somebodys way. The lines can go out the door. I believe that they have outgrown the space and need to expand. Also, while usually clean, the decor ( paint, tables, etc. ) could use replaced/ touched up to replace the 90s/ early 200s feel. These are not deal breakers, just suggestions. Also, staff has always been kind.

Wife stopped here, placed order inside and did carryout. She said the food and service was okay. Order online is available. They have signs about social distancing due to COVID-19.

I’ve been coming here for the last 8 years. Unfortunately the best product in the area. Customer service is horrible, reminds me of the Seinfeld episode when they visit the soup cafe. One particular person is consistently rude no matter the day of the week. Online orders are like ordering via AOL in 1998. Make sure you print out your order! If the service was better, 4 stars for sure. Other reviews about over crowding and long waiting are spot on during peak times.

Absolutely the worst cookies my family and I have ever eaten. I bought a black & white cookie and a chocolate chip cookie. I thought for the five dollars I spent on two cookies and how packed the place was they would be amazing. But I was horribly mistaken, and it is clear the people were there for something other than the cookies. My two kids who are not that picky of eaters, especially for cookies and the like could not handle more than a bit of each cookie each. Seriously, think about it...how bad do your cookies have to be if you cannot get a four and a seven year old to eat a cookie. I thought they had to be just complaining for complaining’s sake, since they were so strongly protesting taking a second bit. NO...they were right. My wife and I tried them too, but could get no further in our efforts to muscle through them. If I want to spend five dollars for crappy cookie then I can go to a grocery store and buy a couple of boxes of generic ones. If the owners of this place are able to allow such awful cookies out of their door then I question their judgment on the other items they are selling and it makes very skeptical of ever going back to try anything else.The picture is of the remaining cookies before they made their way to the trash. This is all two kids and two adults were able to stomach.

Good bagels, but if its busy, the wait is a disaster

Ordered a sausage/egg/cheese on everything bagel to-go, and even after my 20+ min drive home it was still warm and tasty. Definitely one of the best bagel shops (if not the only one?) in the area.

Really good food. Can’t argue with that, hence the four stars! Their menu says $5.79 for a breakfast bagel with meat. It rang up as $6.29. Not a huge deal but when I pointed it out they didn’t really seem to care that there was a reasonable price discrepancy. It adds up if you are getting multiple bagel sandwiches.

Haven’t come here in months because My last experience here was bad. The customer service here is 30x worse than anywhere else in Herndon. I called to place a pick up order and was placed on hold for 10-15 mins. During that time I drove to bagel cafe and placed my order Because there was no one there. So I wonder why I was on hold for that long. Maybe because they don’t feel like working. Nothing about this job is that difficult and Most of them look Like adults, so I’m not sure where the confusion is when it comes to customer service. I Most likely will never come back here.

I have only been here once and it was on a beautiful Saturday morning, so maybe that was my first mistake. The parking lot was crowded and the store was even more so. The line was out the door. I was excited that this was a sign they sold phenomenal bagels. As a former New Yorker I am always on the lookout for a REAL bagel. When I got inside and saw all the cream cheese flavors, I was certain this place was going to be great! I went ahead and ordered my 2 favorite bagels... Pumpernickel and Everything (actually, I prefer egg everything, but they didnt have it). The pumpernickel looked like whole wheat (so pale) and had no flavor. The everything bagel seemed like it lacked salt. And they cost 30 cents more per bagel than my favorite bagel place in NY.I sat outside to eat my bagel (only one - bought the second one home for later). I got the last open table. It was not a bad place to sit and enjoy breakfast. I will likely give this place a second chance because I really want to like it.

Why allow online orders if you start making them only when people show up to pick up? Cafe is stuffed with people waiting for their food with no regards to COVID guidelines. Been going here since 1995 and just love this place. Love their bagels, breakfasts and lunch items. Celia is the always smiling, sweetest person plus the hardest worker Ive ever seen there (or anywhere for that matter). Her work ethic is above and beyond. It always makes my day when I see her.

Great bagel shop. We stop for a first visit today. The place was packed but were able to get a table. We both got sandwiches. My order was not correct and when I asked for a correction I was not impressed with the process. Sent from one person to another. But then the cashier who waited on me came out from behind the counter to find out what happened. She took over and apologized. She had a new order made and it was quick and perfect. I was extremely happy and would go back despite the initial incident. The sandwiches were awesome and the bagels were obviously fresh and hand made. We also got a bear claw that was hard to share it was that good. Highly recommend this place.

Very good bagels! Im fairly picky when it comes to these deliciously chewy and flavorful treats. Huge selection of always fresh, big bagels and their cream cheese is light and fluffy. The appeal is evident as its PACKED during the weekend mornings. Weekday mornings its busy too. Its that popularity that reveals their only apparent shortcoming - how unorganized they are when its really, really busy. They arent understaffed - theres no more room behind the counter or in the kitchen for more people. Despite the long and frustrating waits during the weekend mornings, Im pretty sure others feel the same as I do - the food is worth the wait. I just wish they developed a better system for order processing/fulfillment for a 5-star experience!
