Excellent all around! From the time I called to make a reservation everyone was so nice to work with. The atmosphere was so great. We sat in the beer garden and really enjoyed the view. The food and cocktails were so yummy!!! The staff was fun and very helpful. The best part is, it didn’t break the bank. Great prices with “fancy” food. I would recommend for any occasion or just a bite.
Overall, a chic experience. The highlight was certainly the beautiful patio. Our server was very kind and knowledgeable. The cocktails and the pork shoulder were fantastic, the pasta ragu was very good but not excellent, and the tuna starter was average at best. Perfect for a date, first or otherwise. Attire smart casual.
The experience here is never less than amazing — that’s my genuine truth. When it comes to their culinary style and wit it’s unmatched. Their uncanny but brilliant way of innovating fresh and plant based dishes are outrageously delicious. I’m a meat eater (proud carnivore) and I tend gravitate to this resturaunt when I want something light and fresh. For example, and trust me when I say this folks, their eggplant meatballs (captured in photo) are DIVINE! Go now… get up and drive to Ocotillo and dive into the culinary experience.ProTip: go sit at the bar and enjoy the excellent service provided by the bartenders. You can even witness the love and attention they put into their cocktails.
The decor and layout is beautiful, especially at night. It makes for great photos. The food was delicious! But the portion sizes for the price were not the best; very small. The cocktails were alright, not the best, but not bad either; they were a little weak on the liquor. Service was good and the ambiance was perfect for a date night.
Ocotillo has awesome energy, character, and style. Big outdoor tables are perfect for large groups, and the outdoor landscaping and lighting feels magical (especially the secluded tables closer to the parking). Is New American Cuisine but with plenty of southwestern flair and taking enough chances to be unique and worth visiting. I also appreciated the large portions. Table service was professional and efficient but appropriately relaxed for the venue.
Ocotillo is one of our favorite restaurants in Phoenix! The food, the people and the atmosphere all make this a great spot for a group dinner, a date night or brunch. Weve eaten here many times and enjoy ordering lots of small plates to share. The menu is seasonal and theres always something new to discover while also keeping the favorites like Cauliflower OG! If you like interesting flavors and farm to table type food, this is your spot. The cocktails are also fun and always a treat.
Rainy day brunch day was perfect at Ocotillo! The indoor/outdoor space is so rustic and inviting its like being on vacation. We had spicy bloody marys at the inside bar and then got a table outside, three of us shared 6 items - quiche cauliflower, grilled chicken shwarma, beets, beef rib breakfast, and smoked brisket on polenta. We also had a bottle of nice, dry, cold rose. Everything was great, including the service and the friendly bartenders.
Everything was great except the service. We were served the wrong bottle of wine (he didnt give us a chance to check and correct him) and we felt rushed (multiple servers stopping by, one even taking the check before it was signed). Food and atmosphere were great, definitely try the Sidecar bar for a before or after dinner drink.
Had a reservation for 12, sat at 1215; oddly enough our table unknowingly was in my eye sight and was ready when we had arrived so not sure what caused delay. Our server was nice, but did not check on us and wee needed condiments and order additional drinks. Now I always give grace because they could be short staffed but worth a mention. Unfortunately the eggs were severely undercooked for my brother and I but over all the meal was good. Salads had too much cilantro but the best thing about the experience were the drinks 👌🏽
It is evident that one of the owners is an architect because this establishment is beautiful! We sat inside due to a monsoon storm, but they have a lovely outdoor space that I can wait to use some day.It was our first time here so we asked our server for tips. He was super knowledgeable and extremely helpful. This place is known for their house-made pasta so I ordered the linguini pictured here. It was much spicier than expected but it was just the perfect amount of spice for me (I only mention it because theres no disclaimer on the menu). My husband got the Roasted Pork Shank and omg I HIGHLY recommend it. The sweet corn chowder got better and better with each bite.Specialty drinks are delicious and reasonably priced. We even had the pleasure of chatting with one of the owners for a bit! Overall superb experience.
The server contributed to our experience. He was not friendly, not knowledgeable about the menu, would forget things we asked for like plates and syrup for the French toast we ordered. Oh and he botched our drink order. My friends were served by him during their last visit and had the exact same issue. So, by the time we had what we needed for our French toast, it was cold. The breakfast chimi looks good but lacks flavor. The pancake was delicious.
Wonderful atmosphere! Love the outdoor conversation pit and relaxed atmosphere. Great to quietly visit with friends from IN who loved it! Fabulous dinner inside with great ribs and halibut!! Attentive staff and professional service. Highly recommend!
One of the newer styles in restaurant dining these days seems to be the Farm to Table concept, which implies fresh, usually locally produced ingredients from the farm or barnyard to the restaurant. The food here reflects that concept with precision with amazingly fresh food, presented without fanfare, by gracious and personable servers. We started with a round of drinks, and right when we were ordering the GM/owner of the restaurant stopped by to greet us. Upon asking what his favorite dish was, he highly recommended ordering the cauliflower dish for appetizer. Some of our favorites were eggplant meatballs, fried cauliflower and ahi tuna. Overall, the restaurant is vegetarian and non-vegetarian friendly. Our party of seven thoroughly enjoyed our meals. It offers great outdoor seating. The bar carries extensive and rare collection of bourbon/scotch, wine and cocktails. Please check out the pictures associated with this review and follow on Insta @ifooditie.
Ocotillo is PERFECT for group dining. It feels more like a mini-village than a restaurant with its walkways, lounge areas, and different dining spots. Very unique. &&& the food is out-of-this-world. The ribs are the best I’ve had. The falafel was amazing. The octopus was so tasty.Highly recommend coming here with a group and ordering a bunch of plates to try it all!PS. I felt very safe dining here. They are covid compliant and their tables are spaced out enough to be comfortably far from people not in your party.
The atmosphere seems great. There are plenty seats outdoor as well as indoor. But there was a 1.5 hour wait on Saturday noon for brunch. Will check back next time in town.
I came here for a date night and it was sti pretty quiet around 5 on a Monday. All of the staff had a great energy, knew the menu, and took care of us very well. The food was absolutely delicious (thank you kitchen staff). Highly recommended for a date night if you want something with a little class.
Great spot and great outdoor set up. Food was a bit bland. Service was excellent
Such a cute little spot. The service was amazing and the mimosas hit the spot. I personally chose the Banana Pancakes. We made a reservation and asked for a fire pit and they made sure to get us one. Perfect for a double date. The service was also top notch. They have very comfortable outside seating. Just know the experience you get here will absolutely be quality. Do not forget to order the hashcakes, so flavorful.
Ocotillo is an amazing and flavorful culinary experience! With indoor and outdoor seating, groups of small or large sizes are easily accommodated. The eggplant meatballs are incredible! Be sure to start with those! They have tastes, small plates, and large plates. We highly recommend ordering one less dish than people and eating family style! Our faves are the pork shank, beef ribs, and papperadelle pasta dish with brisket. If you are looking for a lighter dish, they have an array of salads, all of which are an explosion of flavors! Pricing is three to four star. Our group of six spent $280 including drinks. Plenty of parking too!
This is one of my favorite places in Phoenix. Its like a relaxed picnic setting meets fancy restaurant with a southwest flare. Between wonderful brunch with mimosas or nice dinner out for two with great cocktails It has a great intimate atmosphere but also is great for a fun night out with the family in the outdoor picnic setting. They have everything youd want from fine whiskey to lattes. I cant recommend this place enough.
This place is huge! I was greeted as soon as I walked in by the hostess. Our server was great. I met with my coworkers and we ordered a ton of food. Everything was delicious! And they are very creative with their dishes. Our server told us we were the most impressive table he’s ever had the pleasure of serving!
We just know of one restaurant. Birthdays, anniversaries, and even baptisms were held here. We thoroughly loved their menus; they were delectable! The kids are crazy about their aquarium and had a great time feeding it; by the way, the waiter brought them fish food. Both the service and the staff were excellent. Even better, they had the best ambiance in town!
Was going to stop back in for Brunch, hadnt been in awhile. Wont be back, rude staff.Being closed for a private event is understandable. Being arrogant and obnoxious in the communication of the situation isnt. Neither is your unprofessional reply to the original review post. Clearly your staff is a reflection of the supposed mgt. Plenty of great options in central Phoenix that are professional and understand communication.
What a hidden gem! Everything we had was phenomenal! Ordered the aha tuna and squash blossoms for appetizers, both were amazing. For entrees, I had a pasta which they make from scratch and my husband had the beef ribs which were a huge portion, also delicious. Highly recommend dining at Ocotillo!
From the parking lot walking in, the mood is set. The ambience was chill, with the misters and lights setting the stage for an amazing culinary experience, and they did not disappoint. Service was relaxed, and helpful, not mechanical and hovering . I dont normally do pasta, but I gave the dish a try, and a very unique taste. Everything blended well, and the portion sizes were good. The vibe there was so comfortable, that there were several couples just relaxing and enjoying themselves, spaced far enough apart to still be intimate, but not isolated. 👍
Great restaurant! The dinner menu is fantastic as are the drinks and service. They have great outdoor dining areas as well.
It was good place, but had to wait inspite of us reserving the table before hand. They do have specials during the weekends on the mimosas. Also, Food was decent enough.
A little pricey but delicious and great atmosphere
Was fantastic, food was only out done by senery.
We stopped here to pick up brunch on our way through town. I called and ordered ahead in the car. The person that took my call was so nice and said they would delay putting the order in so that it was fresh when we got there. The restaurant is beautiful and has two outdoor patios! I wish we could have stayed to enjoy our food outside. The food was ready when we got there and pick up was very easy. We ordered the chimichangas, the avocado toast, and the hash cakes. I may sound melodramatic, but these hash cakes were the best hash browns Ive ever had in. my. life. Crispy on the outside and smooth on the inside. I honestly could have had 12 more orders! The chimichangas were delicious. Perfectly balanced with the different ingredients -not too eggy, not too cheesy. And the sauce it was smothered in was perfect! Avocado toast was tasty too and hit the spot that morning. So glad we stopped here and will definitely stop in again!
Love Ocotillo! One of the best brunch spots around, and the food is always amazing! Lots of great outdoor seating as well and dog friendly!
The restaurant has ample outdoor seating with lots of shade and misters going to keep it comfortable even on the super hot days.Highly recommend getting reservations. The evening we were here there was a wedding reception in addition to regular dining. There is a good amount of on-site parking and an adjacent lot for overflow. The food was terrific, highly recommend going with a mix of two salads/small plates or one pasta/large plate.Drinks were delicious, many specialty cocktails to choose from.
My third time in one month! This place has amazing chef and creative avant-garde menu!Everything is so delicious! It’s amazing, this place is next to my home. Great ambiance and lots of outdoor space. Great customers service always! Thank you dearly!
Amazing food and great atmosphere, the service was exemplary and the food came out in a timely manner. Our waitress, Alyssa, was absolutely fantastic and made it a wonderful first visit. Would recommend it to anyone else and definitely coming back.
Horrible customer service. I wanted to have a birthday event here because I do enjoy the food. My 1st reservation was lost when I called back to add people. I was then directed to the events person who sent a canned email and never replied again. I finally got a hold of the manager who went on about how busy he was and to call him back the next day to be told by the hostess they had a event and could not accommodate me. Absolutely horrible experience. Richardsons in true class... What you would expect from a nicer restaurant ...was excited to have my business and got us in. Without all the craziness and without having to do a pre-made menu .
The food and Late Night/Late Morning Drink were delicious. Outstanding service and great ambiance. Highly recommend!
Tried it for restaurant week. Food was great. Had the pork shank. The beef ribs looked awesome too.
This place is a little pricey but the food IS amazing. Try the artichoke soup and definitely get the ribs, they are delicious. They also have two lovely outdoor seating areas. Service was top notch!
Great place to meet friends and have great food. Fantastic outdoor patio.
Great place for brunch! The food and drinks are delicious and a good price. Always a plus for me :)
The food was amazing. We got the strawberry appetizer that excellent. The bread is a more rustic then you normally find but very good as well. We also got the half chicken and the Tagliatelle. I have never had a better cooked chicken in my life. I didnt care for the vermouth sauce with the Tagliatelle but I think thats me rather then a failing on the part of the restaurant. We also had dessert and it was one of the best Ive ever had, the perfect salty sweet balance! The restaurant is very nice. We sat inside and our only complaint is that it was a little warm. The courtyard was beautiful and I hope we sit there next time we go. Will certainly go back again. Just a heads up, if you want a reservation, book a week out.
Great food by a renown chef meets an amazing venue spot. There are two remote bars, one having indoor seating. The courtyard in the back is a spacious lot that even has a building that provides a stage for live events. The main room is cozy and has its own bar also. Food is great, definitely a hidden gem.
Ive been here a few times and while the food is great, the service at 10:30 on a Sunday was horrible. We walked in without a reservation and requested a table. We were asked to wait 1-3 minutes to clear a table outside and then were told that my party of 2 could not sit outside and that reservations would be coming in 15 minutes.I told them we would likely be finished in 20, so he sat us at one of the 15+ empty tables in their various patios. We opted to spend our money elsewhere and will likely do the same in the future.
Good sized sharing plates and a lovely setting, beautiful outdoor design especially at night. Great place to take a large group. Cocktails could use more polish.
This place is so awesome! I was in Phoenix for work and my friend who works there recommend this place. Every Thursday they have pasta day. You pay only $20 and you get glass of wine, salad and pasta! I was expected some small portions, basic salad but no! You can choose different salad and pasta. It was 3 of us so we took everything different so we can try! Salad was delicious! And pasta was perfect! So different from basic places! I wish they have the same restaurant in my city! If I could give 10 stars I would definitely give ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
Outdoors, classy, swanky, chill, inviting, exciting, and the list could go on and on. This spot offers something for literally everyone. Want an upscale date night, get a table inside, a relaxing healthy brunch spot, sit outdoors under the trees or even in the grass! I have been here for brunch, lunch, dinner, and a late night drink. No matter what time of day you can expect a staff that is on point, healthy as well as delicious options on the menu, and an inviting vibe no matter what yours is. With multiple seating areas and great chefs this place is a win every time.
Youre immediately greeted with a warm welcome and kind hearted staff when you first walk in to this elegant-cavernous eatery. From the mouthwatering food to the socially-accommodating staff you wont leave unsatisfied on a night out. Benjamin, our server, was our tour guide into this absolutely gorgeous experience educating us on some of the best modern food with a southwestern infusion. He recommended the Beef Ribs which were so tender they fell right off the bone and the Panna Cotta that melted in your mouth for dessert. Overall, I give this a 5-star rating because it wasnt just the food that we were happy with, it was how well we were taken care of.
This place is a gem! The food, service, ambiance... everything about it is a home run. At my last visit, the owner was there and stopped by to check on us and see if we had any questions about the menu. It was nice to meet the person behind the concept. The location is excellent too- it’s close to downtown Phoenix but not so close that parking is an issue.
This place was amazing. The food was delicious, the restaurant beautiful, and the service top-notch. If you’re looking for fine dining in Phoenix, this is it.
The food was great, service was ok. However I think it was the owner/manager in the corner making just being load and annoying. Next time Ill just sit outside.
Heard fantastic things about this restaurant and the atmosphere looked positively exquisite from all the photos online. I took my wife here for one of our date nights and it was a phenomenal experience! The staff were super kind and made sure we were taken care of. The food was next level, seriously, look at the pictures. They speak for themself! The outdoor area was all lit up and was fantastic for taking pictures as well. If you are looking for a special place to take someone you love out for the night, please give this restaurant a try!
Loved my experience. Quite interesting though there was a Male host, couldn’t get his name, but I think that’s very cool of this restaurant to Hire a male host. That’s something you don’t see everyday in this industry. Anyways he was cool and sat me and my fiancé down, he easily accommodated us when we asked about what our other options were for seating! Right off the bat excellent service except there was some random guy going around to tables, didn’t really know why he wasn’t serving or bringing food but bothering us. Our server was pretty cool too, also didn’t get her name just remember it was very unique, had short black hair! She was so sweet and was preemptive with our needs. Cant recommend this place any more (unless the dude running around doing nothing is there).
We loved it. My 6 year old daughter really enjoyed the Ravioli, my wife enjoyed the ribs, and the steak for me was cooked perfectly, seasoned well, and tender. The owner came by often and is a friendly, down to earth, funny man. Overall it was a great experience. Even the desserts were worth going by themselves. My wife and daughter had the raspberry tiramisu, I had the peaches and cream. They were delicious. The appetizers were fantastic. We had grilled octopus, it was tender, cooked perfectly, tasted great. We also had the spare ribs, we loved them. My daughter couldnt get enough. Great place to eat.
I didnt have the pleasure of eating here. I had a pick up for Uber eats, but while I waited there process on fine dining is too notch.
Atmosphere was good, and food was good. The staff was friendly, and the venue is modern. While I think certain dishes could’ve been improved one way or another, that’s just personal preference & I can see their food appealing to a lot of people. Worth a visit!
Came here for restaurant week as the menu looked good, and some of it was, but most of the dishes were forgettable. Except the roast chicken that was almost cooked, won’t forget that.
Greasy, buttery goodness. Some veggie dishes are a highlight!! Very big city sleek vibes, great for impressing out of town folks like me. Our waiter was friendly and chatty. I ordered a fish dish which was good; but next time want to try more veggies. Would def come back.
I never write a review but had horrible service just now. Was seated in the patio and never had a waiter come over to our table. Two other tables who arrived after us had their drinks and order taken. Too many good restaurants in the area to waste our time for poor service.
I payed $20 bucks for a small plate of raw tuna, avacado, and cucumber noodles. It was ok, but not my deal-i-o
We got a small group together for a special event and had the most wonderful time at Ocotillo. Perfect, beautiful outdoor dining. Delicious foods and drinks. Taylor waited on us and was absolutely fantastic, he was kind and attentive. Our orders were prompt and accurate. I cannot say enough great things about Ocotillo. I will absolutely be back.
The food was great! I had the roasted chicken with very fancy potato salad... Im sorry my review will not do justice. Also had one drink, the firebreather which was incredible! The dessert size was a bit small, but high quality... wow! Tasty.
Been here several times. Its a great spot for parties and dates. The changing menu and the food and drinks are immaculate and perfect. Dont go for the most expensive thing on the menu though. The Chicken and everything else is so packed with flavor it out ranks the $45 dish on there. Trust me on that...
My friend and I wanted to try this restaurant for a girls night. We ordered some salads to start & the food runner brought them to the table. Out of nowhere our waiter comes up to the table and picks up my plate while I’m eating because he is visibly upset that my plate is on top of the menu… he said, “This is why I asked you if I could take your menu because we don’t want people using them as placemats” and takes my menu from me. I did not place my plate on top of the menu the food runner did. I have never had someone touch my plate while I am eating off of it… Probably the most bizarre behavior I have ever witnessed from a waiter/waitress. 0/10 would recommend please spend your money elsewhere.
Food was great, but the large outdoor seating area was amazing. Beautiful place to have a meal with friends or family. Appreciated there was plenty of parking (overflow lot) and a diverse menu.
First time visit and will return again. Met a group of friends and the setting is relaxing, comfortable. Food was definitely a 9.5. However, the group shared some kind of cinnamon roll that glistened on top and was less than desirably dry on the inside. Service was unfortunately lacking. I believe we asked the Server 3 times to bring a supplemental diet coke to one of my friends. Could have just been busier than expected?
Amazing food here from the salad, pork chop plate and dessert. Plus the service was on point.
Update after 7 or 8 more visits: Absolutely nothing has changed my mind about this restaurant! I have actually challenged myself to order dishes that I normally wouldnt like/order and have not been let down in any way! Each visit tends to be a three course meal due to their diverse menu! The focus on ingredients and creative flavor profiles shows in each dish. The quality is simply indescribable in my mind, Im often left speechless. The food, service, and atmosphere combined make me feel as if Im a judge on Top Chef or something!I actually find myself grateful for each visit and look forward to many more in the future!Original review: I was really impressed by the amount of flavor our meals had on our Saturday visit. Cooked well, well seasoned, and immensely savory!I tend to order more simple dishes to see how restaurants grasp the basics, and they nailed it! I did have the opportunity to also taste their Brisket with au jus, I would go as far to say it was majestic! As for pricing, even with some drinks, our meal was reasonably priced but the quality added so much more value. The service was quick, thorough, and accommodating! I really look forward to my next visit!!
We came for lunch and were not disappointed in the slightest. Initially I was caught by the exterior architecture, which is unique and eye catching. The interior ambiance was more high class along with highly attentive service. I had the Iberian Ham sandwich which I felt was all around perfect. The fresh bread they used was a perfect balance of light and chewiness, which will not make you feel full. Their balance of ham along with a delicious spread to compliment the cheese and veggies worked perfectly together. Beyond sandwiches their ahi tuna bowl and lunch pasta offerings too were well received by those who I was with. This is a wonderful lunch venue that will not disappoint if you are looking to spend the money.
Two Incorrect menu labeling’s of gluten-free were found in my family’s food order. I’m not sure if other items labeled vegan, or vegetarian, or gluten-free can be trusted! If you can’t trust the labeling on the menu how can you trust anything about the restaurant.Even after telling the waiter about our celiac disease we were served one of those items with tons of gluten!I was surprised to see the restaurant so empty… Besides getting glutenized, The food was not as good as it used to be.Regarding incorrect gluten-free labeling: Clearly they must not understand the pain and suffering that getting gluten causes when you have celiac disease! That one bite of food is causing me serious effects and this is becoming one of my worst pain filled and sleepless nights in years. Unfortunately this may last three days for me.Shame on you Ocotillo!
