This is a picture of my pantry after working with Closet World. If you think it looks like $20 plastic shelving from Home Depot, you’re right!We had a sales rep come out take 2 hours to measure the pantry, we signed a contract on the spot and paid a deposit. We were given an installation date for 6 weeks later and told to tear apart our pantry in anticipation.We did all that and then they no showed. When we inquired we were told the sales rep never turned in the contract. “Ok… we have a copy of it, can we give it to you and have someone come out next week?” Nope - we were told we could start over and would have to pay more than our original contract.We escalated it to their head of sales who lied to us and said there financing issues (we used our credit card and the deposit was paid no problem. We never applied for financing).All around a very bizarre experience and frustrating since we tore our pantry down as they instructed! So now we have $20 plastic shelves from Home Depot until we can get someone else to come out and fix…

If I could give a 1/2 or lower rating, it would be great. While they installed my shelves, their post install, customer service and repair services have been horrendous. No calls back, no email replay...leads me to believe that their primary focus is sales with large discounts, build market share, sell, install and done. The guarantee and warranty is a show and tell because we all want to be assured. After my post break, I called over 5 week time period and sent several emails - no response. So time is money and performing my own repairs (actually hired a handy man and ordered supplies online) since the responses went unattended - oh wait - marketing did email but not installation support :)

I interviewed with this company for a sales and designer position. Was told I would be a great fit and was told when I moved from Michigan to California I would have a job. So I put in my two weeks and began to make preparations to work for them. When I tried emailing and calling them to see my offer letter it felt like I was emailing or calling a fake email or phone number. Either I received no response to my emails or was told on the phone that someone would be calling me right after they got out of a meeting. Finally 2 days before I was set to make the move across the country I was emailed “At this juncture we have fulfilled the hiring need in your area.Thank you and best of luck.” I would not recommend closet world to even my worst enemy for service or a job.

I read the reviews and thought Id give them a try.Lets start with the score: 3 stars. Theyre not bad however its not the best. I had 3 bedrooms and a laundry room that needed some closet stuff. They came out to my house, took measurements and custom fitted all items, they do all the carrying and installed everything. OK thats the good part.The reason for the 3 stars is the quality of material. its that compressed fiber wood that isnt very sturdy. So it doesnt look too nice. I went for the middle price range which was 6k to do all the mentioned stuff above.If you can buy the stuff and install yourself i suggest do it on your own . SAME stuff you see at Home Depot. but if you wanna be lazy and have someone do it then go for these guys.PS i needed more stuff taken care of but never got a call back from the staff to continue services. oh well.

This was initially a 2 stars review, earned solely by the designer Trey. However, due to continued installation problems and unethical practices, I have to remove another star.I had read all the bad reviews before hiring Closet World, but I had such a good experience with Trey, who was punctual, gave me good advice, and was not pushy, that I gave them the benefit of the doubt.The booking and payment was easy, but once they got my money, it all changed.I had to call the day before the installation to confirm the appointment. Ok, no problem. I told them specifically that no one lived at the property so I would have to make a trip to meet the installer instead of waiting at the house all day. They said they would call 30 minutes out so I would have time to make the trip there.The installation time was given to me between 11-1. After 1:15 past and I did not receive any calls, I had to call the office to check what was happening. So it turns out the installer had already arrived at the house, was let in by a contractor working there, and proceeded to start installation without informing me. OK, fine, I got ready to leave. I arrived within 20 minutes of the phone call, to find the installer had already left. OK, I thought, maybe they are efficient, but I thought I had to sign a slip to say I was satisfied with the finished product.But no way was I satisfied with the finished product. The installer left a mess where he finished the install - since the house is a building site, ok, fine, I can clean it up. Then I look at the actual shelves and drawers. Like others have said, the wood/melamine is dented and warped in lots of places. Where they have drilled holes the wood is broken. The drawers dont close properly and dont line up and are all crooked.Because the installer had already left without even checking with me, I had to call the office to tell them I was not satisfied. They said they would get in touch with the installer to come back and fix the problems. I asked to be informed as I was at a building site. So I waited at the building site, half hour past and no phone call. I called the office again to be told they could not get hold of the installer and they would call me once they got hold of them. One hour and 0 phone calls later, I called the office again to be told the installer could not be reached and they would have to reschedule to come out again. (lets see whether I receive any phone calls to reschedule) Great! After already spending a day on this, I get to waste another day of my time so that they can fix their mistakes.Also, they charged my card for the finished product even though I NEVER gave the final ok.They couldnt come out until a week later to fix their mistake, and on the day of scheduled reappointment, where I have already made all sorts of arrangement to take yet ANOTHER day off, conveniently their van broke down and they couldnt come. However, they did not let me know of the cancelled appointment until 30 minutes past the appointment time, so there was no way I could go back to work or rearrange my other appointments anymore. So I already wasted 2 days waiting for them, rearranged my life to attend these appointments and now I have to do it again. I wonder how many times this will happen and how many days I have to take off. This is unbelievable. They have no problem charging my card though.Thank you for delivering an inferior product, not doing as promised, and wasting 2 days of my time and counting. I hope this review serves as a warning to others. Just go to ikea. You get much better quality for half the price.

My designer had great ideas and was very easy to work with. He helped us stay on budget and came up with creative solutions. The reach-in closet we have has a pitched roof and a roof line bulk head that are part of the space. He really thought through with me how to make it work best for our son who is now age 10, but will need to use the space into his teen years. Gave four stars only because the design process is hand drawn and not online. While I appreciated his artistic talent, it would have been very helpful to make changes on fly as we might have been able to do with a CAD.

Beware! This company is an absolute scam. They claim to be installing custom closets and cabinets, but what they mean is prefabricated components cut to size. The quality of the furniture is much lower than what you would expect from IKEA at 10x the price. You will have visible screws and holes in the cabinets. The material is scuffed up and already delaminating in day 1. They will charge your credit card without asking for your authorization, before they even begin the install. If you try to have them address their quality complaints, the manager tries to overpower you by refusing to let you ever finish a sentence and attempting to gaslight you.I wasted $3500 on what looks like $200 of knock off Ikea furniture. Dont fall for their scam!

If you like being rescheduled and them arriving late for installation appointment, I recommend closet world! The first time around we were scheduled to have our custom $3000 closet installed around 1pm on a Tuesday. Ok, move things around for work and take a half day to accommodate them, no problem. Around 3 we get a call saying “we are stuck at our first build, sorry can’t come anymore.” This was only made worse by them saying the next available date was a week from that day. After accommodating their schedule, they could not respect that we changed ours. Now, a week later after changing our schedules again for them, we have to call for them to tell us they will be late to this appointment. This is not what I would expect from custom designed closets that charge a premium. I would say this is ikea level customer service, but ikea is usually pretty good about making things right. Very disappointed in Closet World.

Extremely unprofessional. The lady who designed our closet left the company without sharing design. Now closet world doesn’t have a system in place to look this rookie thing. Luckily we had the design copy and.forwarded them.the design. Next screw up happens they schedule for a date and give us a call asking for the design. We share the design within the next hour. Now another classic professional the same person who called us apparently didnt care to follow up this appointment and another ill equipped mannerless so called professional calls to reschedule proposing a ridiculous long wait time. When we ordered the closet they said oh we will do it in 3 to 4 weeks, blah blah. We can definitely do it etc. More false promises. Now delays are communicated like its our fault that we hoped they would keep up the timing.

Unfortunately I have to give Closet World a bad review and sadly, I didnt even get to experience their products - we didnt get past the initial scheduling of an estimate appointment. I made my appointment online a week in advance and did not receive any phone call confirming the appointment. I called the day before to make sure someone was coming at my scheduled time of 1:00 and they said yes, but that they didnt know who was assigned. I waited for the consultant to show up and she never showed! When I called to find out where she was, I was put on a 10 minute hold before someone answered. Apparently the assigned consultant called in sick last night and no one ever informed me or left me a message. Very unprofessional and poor customer service/communication. So bummed that I wasted my time.

I called and made appointment with closet world. Operator told me to wait for 3 weeks. My appointment was made for Saturday 10am. Day before appointment I called they mispronounced my name. I told them right spelling and the pronunciation but they disrespectfully ignored. I told them that I still have not received any calls confirming next days appointment appointment, I was told by their operator that I do have an appointment next day and designer will call me. Next day nobody came I called 10:20am. Operator again mispronounced my name.He said that designer not coming. These people have no respect towards anyone time. They are uneducated, unprofessional losers and scumbags who take advantage of people.

I would not recommend closet world if you leave a deposit and anything comes up that’s detrimental you won’t get that money back . This company is money hungry and will want you to complete your contract no matter what. I had three eyes surgery’s and they refused to refund me my deposit and this was the VP of sales. I would give this company a negative -20 if I could. I had my master closet completed an the work was beautiful just make sure you don’t cancel or have life happen because there’s no empathy!

Had a terrible experience with Closet World a few months ago. Back in December I scheduled time with them for a consultation. The consultation was scheduled for 3 weeks out from my initial phone call. The guy who came was nice enough. I gave a deposit to CW for 50% the cost of the closet and they scheduled time to come out another 3 weeks later.They called me the day before my appointment to confirm. I said it worked for me. I took the next day off work and waited for the reps to come for installation. Within the time frame someone was supposed to be arriving, a rep called me and told me that they couldnt complete it and would need to reschedule because no one had come into work.I told her that was unacceptable, I had taken time off work, emptied out my whole closet, and was waiting for them and that we should find another time that day if the morning time we had scheduled wouldnt work. She said she would have a manager call me back.Well, no one ever called back or tried to reschedule. They just walked away with half of my deposit. I had to call the bank and report it to get a refund.This is a fraudulent company and I strongly recommend NOT doing business with them.

I invited a couple of companies but none of them were offering this. Alas, we are still not there yet!

If the star is for the designer, I would have given five stars to Patricia. She is really patient with me, flexible on time and meeting location, and last but not least, did an excellent job designing my walk-in closet. Unfortunately I didnt go with the company, because I would like to have the mirrors on the cabinets, which is not the option. Also, I wish the company would invest in 3D design tool.

Im giving this company 1 star, because I cant give them a half a star! Our design/installation was a disaster. Long story short...waited 3.5 months for install, deposited $2500, had to drop the whole thing, and the deposit, because the material was just cheap, wrong size, glass shattered, and simply pathetic! Everytime Id call in to speak to an installation manager, he/she happened to no longer be with the company. Our Designer Mike wouldnt even answer my call, and then had the nerve to call back 1 month later, to ask if Id like to go ahead with other projects we had discussed! Skip them, find a PRO!!

Upgraded all my closets with custom closets from closet world. The sales person spent over 4hrs at home taking measurements, suggesting designs, marking diagrams and bargaining price. She did not mention about back panel, though pictures in brochure looked like all of them having back panel or matching background color . The installers ripped off old closet but did not paint or cover marks on the wall. Now with new custom closets, my wall looks ugly. Sad part is they didnt have any plan to address the ugly background wall, in spite of installing many closets. Now I have to do something about it.

Closet world came to my home and gave me an estimate to build two cabinets for us and a shelving unit for one of our bedrooms. We were promised soft close drawers, soft close doors, single piece cabinet top and shown samples to indicate the quality of the work. They came out the first day and built one of the cabinets but forgot the drawers and doors. They put in a two piece top, not a single piece and got glue on everything including the top joint which cannot be repaired. They came out a week later to bring doors and drawers and to build the final cabinet. All the measurements were wrong for the top cabinet so they put on the doors and drawers for the cabinet they built the first day but none of them were soft closing. They had to re-design the cabinet for the living room because they told me what the sales guy designed wouldnt work. They scheduled another work day where they built most of the living room cabinet, but here again, glue everywhere, and no doors were brought to the house. Additionally, they cut the trim piece for out in front of the cabinet and threw it away so there was no way to trim out the cabinet when complete. What was worse, the workers put a hot glue gun on our new coffee table, burning the table. Because they couldnt be honest with this mistake, they put our tv remote control over the burn mark, which ended up gluing the remote to the table as well. After some conversations with the managers there, we were told that there was nothing they could do about the quality of their work, and that they werent willing to make good on the soft close doors and drawers because they couldnt find it in the paperwork. They had to send another worker (I refused to let the ones who burnt my coffee table back) to our home for a 4th visit to put on the doors and shelving for the living room unit, but the shelving was cut to the wrong depth. Now that the job is complete, and our house looks really cheap, they wont call us back to work out a fix to the problems. I would urge anyone out there to stay clear of these guys. They are dishonest, and make a very cheap product. I think a cheap folding table from Wal Mart would have been a better solution to the cabinet we paid to have them build.

I scheduled an appointment over 3 weeks in advance (they barely had timeslots), and adjusted my schedule specifically to make that time work. The day before the appointment they called asking to contact them as it was important to talk to them before the appointment. I called back and thats when they told me that the designer canceled last minute due to an emergency. I get emergencies... but it just felt unprofessional and disrespectful of my time.

UPDATESoon after my part I received a call from CW. We rescheduled based on my availability 2/19/18. They didnt cancel and arrived on time. Same installer as the first time. The closet was finished but not without some problems. But the installer was able to address and get everything installed. Overall Im happy with the product and that CW came through. Lost 2 stars, 1 for customer service and 1 for design issues. Having said that, Im not sure I would use again.---Well I have to say I have been trying to stay positive about my experience . Unfortunately, today was the last straw.Design Consultation 12/21/17- Michael G was prompt and showed up on time. Just like all salesmen he was friendly. We designed the closet that I desired (showed him my inspiration photo) and decided despite the high cost (I am sure due to overhead; all the people in the chain to be paid). I was worth it to pay for it...initially. I was able to get my installation date for 1/19/18. I was excited and couldnt wait.Prior to installation date, I did my own demo of the closet even though it stated on the contract that they will do the work but are not responsible for damage even though they will take care. I wanted to paint so did on my own.Installation day 1/19/18 - Showed up on time at the start of my 2 hour window and began the install. The installers were friendly and nice. However, there was a problem during the install. The measurements on one side were not correct due to the design. Although I am not a designer and I dont know where int he process it got messed up, the design called for 35 section. However, the actual spacing should have been 32 to account for the wood panels installed in the space. I am not sure if this should have been done at design or when manufacturing the shelves/drawers. Additionally, I wanted my closet to be floor to ceiling. The measurements in the design are at 95 h, however the system they installed is 94 leaving a 1.5 inch gap.I politely contacted Closet World to explain the design measurements were wrong/off and they put me in contact with a manager (who was rude) who I spoke to about the correction. He said he would contact me the following Monday to schedule the fix. I also contacted the designer who also help me out and contacted the supervisor about the issue and what was needed to resolve the gap from system to ceiling (filler)???.On Wednesday 1/24/18 I didnt receive a call on the Monday so I called for a status. Apparently there was a mistake on the phone number listed which is why I didnt receive the call but that i was tentatively scheduled for 1/30/18 window 9a-11a. I also am having new floors installed in my closet as well so I coordinated the scheduling.RESCHEDULED day 1/30/18 - Received a call at 8am informing me that they had to cancel because someone called in sick (hmmm sounds familiar, i think i remember reading the majority of these reviews). Now I have to reschedule the floor install until they finish the work. Also, she stated they would have to contact me LATER to reschedule. WHY, you have me on the phone now, look at your calendar and reschedule.CLOSET WORLD IF YOU READ THIS:In order to resolve this issue YOU NEED to;1. Reschedule for Feb 19 in the morning on the day I am already off work and dont need to take more time off because of the mistakes of your company.2. Install at your expense crown molding instead of filler to cover the gap. Which I am sure is a small expense considering what you charged me for the closet (maybe $25 with labor/materials) for less than 8 linear feet.3. DO NOT CANCEL AGAIN!!! I cannot reemphasize this enough.Im still waiting for a call back but will post updates.

Nice upgrade to a bare bones walk in closet. Make plenty of time (hours) for your design consultation if you’re serious. We liked our consultant Adam D. and install team was efficient once they arrived but in the Bay Area we had to wait several weeks for install. That did give plenty of time for old closet hardware demo and wall prep/paint. They don’t do that, or they only do basic shelf/rod removal. you can pay a bit extra for a back panel that would hide most of the wall. I had time to demo, patch holes and bracket and shelf witness marks, match wall texture, and paint (Benjamin Moore Eggshell Revere Pewter, a really nice “Greige” color)

This company has been bought off by Closet WorldLooking online (unfortunately after the fact), I have found over 40 (forty) complaints about various offices of this company in the last 3 years. I wish I have done the appropriate research before acting on the spam mail advertisement.We have ordered a custom closet in May. The first installation attempt was performed in early June. Some of the components were incorrect and the new installation was scheduled for later in June. In the mean time, we have realized that the drawer lock which was ordered was not installed. During the second installation attempt, the doors of wrong size were delivered and the workers realized that drawer rails were incorrect and reported on that, and scheduled the third installation for a few days later to repair the drawers. However, different technician was sent and they did not have the information on the rails. This technician realized a different problem with the locks and had to reschedule and also ordered cleaning and hole caps, and rescheduled the fourth appointment. In the mean time, the information on the rails was lost and the fifth appointment was scheduled. After taking the fifth half-day off, I realized that this appointment was never entered into the system. Rescheduled the sixth appointment as of now. I would like to point out apparent complete miscommunication within the technicians and managers costing lost time and frustration.I strongly discourage you from going with this company.

Not credible! This company is an absolute nightmare to work with and the review here do not reflect the truth of how they workI made the mistake of only looking at the reviews on here when I booked with them. My designer seemed nice enough, but basically dissapeared after the contract was signed and she got my money.Come the day of the install - I get a call that not all the shelves are ready and we have to reschedule (a little more heads up would have been nice). Eight days later the installers show up with material that had scratches and chips that were not acceptable. The installers tell me I have to call the office to fix. The office lady tells me small scratches are to be expected (thanks for telling me know, not small btw) so I should just let the installers finish. I reluctantly do so, but the end product looked no better. The installers leave before I have a chance to tell them to take it out again. I call the office and leave messages to come thier people come remove what they installer and either replace with something decent or return my money. Finally got a hold of someone who said they would schedule to send someone out - weeks later and I still havent hear anything.I dont know how theyve managed to skam their way to positive reviews here, but they are not a trustworthy company - look anywhere else (Yelp, consumer reports, ripoff report, etc) and you will see.

I customized a closet design with their in home designer. I Made a partial payment and waited for over 3 1/2 Months for an installation appointment. When the installer arrived he had not contacted the designer for clarification. He re measured and changed the design and attempted to install his design rather than what was agreed upon with their designer.I emailed their customer service department the details and requested the designer be involved. When the District Manager called me he had not contacted the designer but wanted to attempt to resolve the issues.He had not spoken with the designer per my request and at that point I decided to terminate the contract for failure to deliver a product to its specifications and requested a full refund.Its been over a week and I have not received an answer. I would recommend Valet Organizers for any custom closet designs
