I came in the other day for wiper blades. Brandi was extremely helpful on choosing the right blades for my vehicle alongside very affordable for my wallet! Outstanding customer service, great conversation while installing them! Brandi even showed me how they get sometimes get stuck and how I can prevent them from being difficult to replace after awhile. Outstanding customer service, better than Autozone in my opinion!
Very disappointed in the customer service received at this location. Last week we went in to purchase halogen lamps for our vehicle. When he told the employee, somehow we were given the incorrect ones. We didn’t realizar this until we took out the old one from the vehicle and saw they were not the same. I went back to the store to try and exchange the item (which was still unopened in the package), but was told we couldn’t without a receipt, even though it was no our mistake. I asked him if we could use the credit card to look up our purchase, but were told no. The gentlemen at the desk provided n great customer service, even though he stated he’d been doing this awhile and is there to help customers. Very unfortunate.
This is for the Hanover Park location only. I have bought from this location before, however I try to stop going here because the service has been 50/50. Sometimes good, sometimes bad. Today 07/04/21 was horrible. I was waiting for someone to help me while the person in front was getting a new battery and the staff were having a seriously hard time determining whether it was a gel or a regular battery. Anyway, that seemed to be an ordeal for another customer. For me when helped, I just asked for a distributor cap and rotor. I was then asked Brake rotor?. No distributor cap and rotor. A hubcap? No. Staff finally got around to understanding me, and then was told I have to special order that. Not a big deal, I understand. Even though website was able to order and pick up. I then just asked if any stores in area had them. Couldnt really understand the first city, or something I have not heard of in my area, but understood Palatine. I asked which street the store in Palatine is, and was told, You can just google it. Okee doke then... Last time I ever go to this store. Plus on top of it, now that I am leaving a negative review, the parking lot to this store is the worst parking lot ever. If you have a nice car, be careful maneuvering your way around this lot. Left two stars for this store instead of one only because I have had good experiences in the past. Telling me to google a store when he had it up on the screen is ridiculous. Obviously sometimes you may get knowledgeable staff, but sometimes you will end up getting a hubcap instead of a distributor cap.
Supposedly if you buy a battery from them they install it for free....wrong.... dont buy a battery from them youll have to replace it yourself......local mom and pop gas station did my fusion in 10min when they said it was gonna take 45 and it was too difficult....well I guess its a good thing I didnt let them replace my battery...probably wouldve messed something up...oh and it was cheaper....what a waste of time
I went to this location two weeks ago for a new car battery. I was referred by someone who told me I could purchase my battery and have it installed here for free. I called the location to ensure they had a battery for my car. The employee told me they did and so I purchased my battery online for pick up. I arrived and waited while an older gentleman installed a battery for another customer. Once it was my turn, the employee seemed to be having trouble figuring out how to remove the battery. I have a 2016 Chevy Cruze. He went inside to get a manager for help. The manage came outside, but didn’t seem very interested in helping the employee. He gave him little direction and just pointed to a few things and then went back inside. The employee went to get the manager two more times for help and each time the manager was short with the employee. The employee finally figured it out and replaced my battery. I thanked him and left. A week later, I started having issues with my car. I was have trouble starting my car and weird electrical issues. On Christmas night my car stopped on me while driving home on 290. The next day, I took my car to jiffy lube to figure out the issue. It was determined that one of my battery cables was left loose. I called advance auto parts and explained to the manager, who didn’t seem too interested what happen. I told him the employee was very nice, but had no support from the manager, which is why this dangerous thing happened. He said he would follow up with all employees to make sure they all know what they’re doing, but I highly doubt that will happen. Safe to say, I won’t visit this place again.

I dont understand. They have refused to repair the drive way. Note this, I leave in the neighborhood and when I was in junior high, it was bad, went to high school, it got worse, I went to college, it got ridiculous, now I got a job and working and the drive way is still the same freakn portholes. What is going on, like managers dont see it turns away people

Went in for a battery for my car remote key fob and was told that I needed to take it to the dealership because if they changed the battery, it would interfere with the programming. She didn’t ask year, make, model or anything. Oh I should add, I wasn’t even acknowledged for a time period standing and waiting to speak with someone. Instead she told a lie and I Googled how to change it, went right up to Walmart, got the $3 battery and the fob works perfectly. For some reason, she just didn’t want to help me and I’m fine with that. I will never set foot in another Advance Auto Parts ever in life and will stop any family or friend I see attempting to patron the location.
This is my store for last 4 years and all the employees are really helpful and go above and beyond to make you happy and help you as much as they can.
Helped with finding solutions to unusual braking problem, struts and shocks, oil filter recommendations. Very friendly. Also lent me a good code checking device.

I called in advance to this place and asked the person who answered if I buy a battery will it also be installed, I was told yes. I get there and well my boyfriend and I ended up having to figure out how to install it ourselves in the parking lot and they provided the tools. We tried for a good 20 minutes and then Jim came outside to help. He was quick too. He knows what hes doing.

Came in yesterday looking for a part. I was missing my own tools to remove a light bulb from my car. They young gentlemen in the front was nice enough to help me removed the screws and he even showed me where the replacement part was in the stores shelf. Great place i will visit again for my auto needs
Very helpful employees here!!! As soon as I walked in, I was greeted by a team of helpers. The gentleman I spoke with knew exactly which replacement AC line port my car needed. In & out in 60 seconds.

Would give them less than a one star if possible. Staff is not knowledgeable about the parts they sale, dont inform customers of what does and doesnt come with their purchases. If you are going g to work in a parts store you need to have the knowledge to be able to help your to insure they have what they need to do the job they are working on, otherwise look elsewhere for employment! Dont leave people with no vehicle because they werent informed that things that are imperative to their project arent included in their purchase and you failed to inform them they must purchase things separately. I spend $200 in just last purchase but you can bet my next purchase and any others in the future wont be purchased at your establishment Ill take my money elsewhere. Id rather pay a little more and get all the information I need before leaving the store than pay wittle less at your store and be left without a car and no way to get anywhere to buy what you didnt inform me I needed in order to complete my project and be able to drive my car. Thanks for nothing but a car that cant be moved and a headache from having to figure out why Im missing parts and figuring out how to get back to a store to get those parts on a Sunday and how Im going to get to work or if I even can and am I going to lose my job because you dont train your employees to help customers ensure they have all they need before leaving your store. You wanna give me ride ? Its 12:30 I have to be at work at 7 PM 45 miles a way and u cant even get the parts until tomorrow afternoon!

AutoZone sucks and this place has everything they have, they have this old white guy with long hair that is a freaking guru at auto parts and is usually happy to help you out, I feel bad cause I dont remember his name but he really trys to help you out, management if your reading this, you know who he is, keep him and give him a raise. Other employees are good too

Terrible Customer service. I was overcharged by over $50 by a clerk (Jim) on an order and when I went back to the store to dispute it, the clerk (Carlos) said only the manager, Louie, could help.I went back 3 days later when he was there (hes only there like 2-3 days a week). He refused to help me. He offered me a paper voucher in the form of his business card with a signature that was only good at his store and for less than 1/2 the value that I was overcharged. When I complained and asked if it would be accepted even if he wasnt there, he dismissed my concerns and I was forced to buy overpriced parts right away out of fear the voucher wouldnt be accepted later.I even called customer service and they asked (in a rude tone of voice) me why I took so long to contact them and said they wouldnt do anything.Lesson learned, the staff at this store is ill trained and not completely honest. The company is crooked with terrible customer service even on their 1-800 number. ALWAYS check your receipts as they will cheat you if they can. Im never going back and will stick to Amazon/Rock Auto and Autozone. They are all way friendlier and honest.
Movies good service I came in rent a part and had a good experience I had to bring back the part thing first gave me but it didnt work so then the next one did work and they gave me back my money when I bought it in. It was very good experience will definitely be back

I went to return a product and they said they dont have enough cash. Such a big store and they dont have $200 in change. Really disappointed. Really bad attitude with costumers. The young guy was trying to help but the old guy was stopping him from helping. The old guy is very disrespectful and unhelpful. No wonder why the store was empty. probably because of him. He told me to come tomorrow. Let see what happens. ADVANCE AUTO PARTS do something about the old guy.

Giving it 4 starts because the waitress told my husband to leave her more tip money she was like playing around mode but still wen we got out it made us feel akward. Did she really make us leave her more tip?? Lmao. Gave her $5 ended up leaving her $8. Idk. I guess they do make there money only out of tips.
This place has the worst customer service. I called there 5 times got hung up once and the rest I was put on hold, obviously they’re not intrested in my business. When I was put on hold they just put me on hold without asking if I’d like to be on hold. If you’re not intrested in working stay home and get someone who wants to work! Go to Autozone up the street much more friendly!

10 months later yet another complaint of their star employee JIM. this cranky old man really needs to find a happy place. but then again it maybe him chasing customers to AUTOZONE or OREILLYS. Made a web order and he was too busy staring to help. Found out I received the wrong part, AND AFTER BEING TOLD by the manager to just swap it out. He made a temper trantrum, threw some oil in my direction, and came up with 10 reasons how this wrong part was my fault. I did not blame, I just wanted my stuff. JIM was SO ATTITUDE and INDIGNENT that I just returned every part I ordered. Of Course he felt this was too much! Ive been a professional mechanic for over 20 years, and shopping at this place since it opened. NEVER AGAIN!
