Perfect place to find something old or new. Im old school and love checking out the cd collection. Ive found quite a few autographed ones. Im sad the inventory has decreased, but its to be expected. I usually buy a few books for my nephews and some Anime for myself. Even snagged up some Disney merch this time. You can also trade in your old games, books, movies and more here. The process is easy and painless, show ID and drop your items at the counter, get a number and come back when they either text you or put your number on the screen, then theyll have an offer for you. Expect not to get much though. Youll get more out of store credit than you do cash. I usually take items I was ready to just give away so at least I can get store credit toward my new goodies.

I love this book store! The staff are very nice and they always have the books Im looking for. The store is also clean and well kept. They also have shirts, vinyls, CDs, journals, video games and consoles, as well as other things. They have used and new books. A wonderful place indeed. 2nd and Charles pleases my aesthetic heart 💜

I brought in my Xbox 360 and they made me reset everything then refused to buy it. I brought in some games that they were selling for 20-30 dollars a piece and only offered me $6 for all of them, highly do not recommend trading in anything here. They made me walk around for over an hour making me feel like they would buy it then refused. I took everything back home with me. My Xbox works great just didn’t want it sitting around any longer. If I could give them a 0 star I would.

Massive selection of used books, games, comics, toys. And all very reasonably priced. They have pretty much anything and everything you could ever want.

This store is a must visit for anyone who likes pop culture! It has tons of vinyl, CDs, and a small selection of musical instruments for the music lovers. For the reader (casual or avid) they have the biggest selection of books Ive seen since Barnes and Noble closed shop. They use an alphanumeric system to help you locate specific genres which works incredibly well. Everything from rare books to the classics or newest in fiction/non fiction is available. The graphic novel/manga section is surprisingly vast and varied and youre almost sure to find what youre looking for. Plus, they always have amazing deals going on like BOGO or selections of media under $5. This store requires multiple visits to truly appreciate everything they offer. Not to mention, with their business model the inventory is always changing! As for staff they were above and beyond friendly and even helped find ways to save money utilizing the deals available. I cant wait to visit again!!! Prices on the whole are very very reasonable.

Hard to go there and not find a good used read. They dont buy beat up books, but they also dont charge new book prices on those. 2nd & Charles is more than a bookstore, though. They sell novelty items, toys, video games and accessories, musical instruments, DVDs and CDs, besides the books.

Don’t be tempted to sell your stuff here. As tedious as it is, listing anything that is in reasonably good condition elsewhere online would be more worth your while. Otherwise, you’ll drop off a box of books in perfect condition valued at over 50 dollars and receive 5 dollars in credit.Trade-in aside, books, games and merchandise here are highly marked up. A simple google search will show you that you’d pay double for something in this store that you can buy from an actual local shop (2nd and Charles is a chain) or an online retailer.

Went to buy a strategy guide that was old and had a worn cover and pages. They charged 25 bucks like it was brand new. Definitely would not recommend, they overprice stuff too much.

Great store to find a deal on new and used books. What surprised me on my first visit is the amount of board games and small electronics they had.

The best selection of manga Ive run across in a very long time. I brought my daughters there and ended up stuck there for hours. They have an excellent selection of music and movies also!

If I could give them a zero stars I would. The service is terrible, made me wait over an hour, reset my system and then told me they werent going to offer anything. Games that gamestop would buy for $20 store credit they only offered me $6 in store credit. Total rip offs.

This spot has always been one of my favorite places to shop due to their top selection of books, vintage video games & system accessories. They have some really cute novelty items that make great gifts for nearly any occasions. The staff is great, always helpful and friendly. Always fun to stop through and walk around. Wow, I can spend so much time here. I love physical books, love browsing through them. Have to be careful and force myself to resist buying everyone I want. Great place to get books while staying on budget

They have new books as well as used, which is not a bad thing as long as you are not expecting everything to be less than cover price. Good selection of vinyl, comic books (used and new), used video games, dvds and Blu Rays. They also have some Pops and action figures.

My absolute fav place to get my inner geek/fan boy on. Thanks to my awesome wifey for finding this gem a few years back. They have books, games, comics, toys and even my fav: retro gaming for Nes, SNES, Sega Genesis and other classics. This place is very Millennial-friendly, stock-wise. Pop culture stuff everywhere without being in-your-face like Spencers & Hot Topic. It also had some kitschy stuff. I made the mistake of buying one of their flavored cotton candies (nasty). My significant other bought 3 vinyls for roughly $35 before tax! They have a lot of comics, too!

Its like a mix of Game Stop ans Barnes and Nobles. They have used and new games, books, music, movies, and a selection of gifts. The prices are reasonable and the items are normally in good condition.

I would not recommend selling your books here. If you give them a brand new book that cost you $20, they will pay you $1 or $2 for it. Better to have a yard sale then sell there

I am warning everyone do not fall for the “free” 4 magazines deal for a year, they try to offer when your getting checked out. I did this and received one magazine for free for one month, after that I was charged for all 4 magazines and did not realize that second Charles gave my debit card info to these magazine companies . They continued to take money out of my account for a year and half when I was completely unaware. No one offered a refund, not even second Charles! They are all scammers as far as I’m concerned!

I thought it was Second Hand Charles and I would be able to get a glove for my double hand...They actually sell preowned games and stuff. Picked up a nice copy of Battle Toads so all in all it was a pretty great day.

5 stars for inventory as I always find something I need here... 0 stars for trade in value. If you are considering selling anything here like video games, their offers are offensive. If youre looking for cash, they literally offer you less than 10% of the value, but even if you are wanting/willing to take trade-in credit they still only offer you maybe 12% of the value. Dont sell your stuff to them, there are SO many other better choices to do so! And the customer service here is horrible also!

This store is fantastic! Has everything from vinyl to obscure board games to video games. A store everyone could enjoy and the staff is always helpful.

I LOVE it here. Always interesting finds, well organized, clean, and the staff is great. My only issue is when selling to them, the policy that they get rid of items you dont pick up fast enough. Worse than that, they never informed us of this policy. My partner was devastated to lose some records they had decided not to sell, but couldnt pick up fast enough due to work schedules and us living an hour away. If we had known they just toss peoples belongings, we would have prioritized picking them up.

If I could this company 0 stars I would. I shopped here a year ago and the lady at the front desk offered a free magazine subscription to me. She asked me my address and zip code. Little did I know 2nd and charles gave my debit card information to these magazine companies and has charged me $260 for a year of subscriptions. I was completely unaware. Never shopping here again. They are scammers.

I love this store. I think I spent 2 hours prowling the shelves of new and used books, found an armful to take home, and still spent under $50. That doesnt describe the manga, music, comics, or collectibles that they have. Its a nerd/geek paradise!

This is one of my favorite places to take my kids to look for used books. The staff is super helpful and their selection is great. Prices are very low when you look at the used sections. They also have a great number of games and comic books for all you fellow geeks. You can also take a stroll down memory lane with all of their older video games but they do have newer ones as well.

Really great used book prices. Found some books I never thought Id be able to find for surprisingly low prices. The cataloguing and organization system leaves a lot to be desired though. Some genres arent separated out and are just thrown into the fiction section, and the sci-fi fantasy section is disappointingly small in comparison to other genre sections. All in all a pretty nice place with good prices and alot of options. Dont buy video games there, rip off prices worse than gamestop.

Im not a huge fan of 2nd & Charles. They have super nice gift items that are unique such as Japanese candy, funky journals, and nifty bookmarks... great for stocking stuffers..but everything is super expensive. Their used books and toys are also insanely expensive for what they are. Since we dont have any other book stores around, they definitely have a monopoly in town. I have heard that they give very little money for trade-ins/sales which makes me think of pawn shops and payday loans that take advantage of unemployed and underemployed folks. It just rubs me the wrong way!
