Horrible. This place should be closed down. Old expired molded food on shelves. It hurt my heart to see the quality of food that is given to my people in the delta. The fact that the management first refused to give me a refund. There was nothing on the receipt saying they didn’t take returns, I express this to the manage and he tells me it’s on the door; there wasn’t a sign on the door. The manager who’s attitude by far was the worse I’ve ever encounter in retail manager position should not be a manager. After refunding me my money for the ice cream that was liquid water and milk separated, he had the nerve to come over to me and invade my person space to tell me “I didn’t have to return your money”. The way I was treated was totally unacceptable. This will not be the end of this situation.

Unfortunately it is the only Big Star grocery chain left in the city. Its a good hike to get to this store because it is located on the eastern edge of the city limits. But the staff is very friendly and helpful. They also put a competitive weekly sale flyer in the local paper. Another perk they are probably one of the last stores to offer utility, telephone and other bill pay options inside their store. Try their hot lunches that they serve daily - especially on Sundays.

Not a great selection, the floors were really dirty last time I went and some of the items on the shelf that I grabbed have a layer of dust on them. Gross. How long have they been sitting there? That makes me worry about them being expired. Honestly, Wal-Mart is MUCH better in terms of selection, and its a further drive for me now, but still worth it.

Lovely people work here but the quality of the food has suffered greatly in the last year. Not sure whats happened.

It speaks volumes of the value that this place adds to the community. Just by being open on a day as this day. With dreadful weather...

Your lettuce is out dated tomorrow and its sold as if fresh brought a bag last week open it the next day wasnt no good...

This is the closest store to me, yet I prefer to drive an extra 15 min. across town to get better customer service and actually find items in stock.

The manager is great and So are the vegetables. Especially asparagus. Shop here for great produce.

Sometime the meat not worth purchasing. Unfriendly services. Unwilling to help. Watches people for no reason. Unwilling to explain the purpose of wacthing only certain people. I have paid $200 to $300 everytime I have been in this store and have recently been accused of stealing yet they could not show the camera video of it happening. My husband confronted the man for falling him and ask him if he had a problem they called the police.

I love big star Ive been shopping here since I was a young girl. Big star is my store.

No gloves for the guy serving. Nasty attitudes at the register. Slim chance for a visit anytime soon
