I went to Shreve, Crump & Low in Greenwich because for three generations my family has shopped at the store in Boston. The Greenwich store, (my hometown) is so lovely and Olivia helped me to design a stunning necklace that has incredible sentimental value. She was very thoughtful and knowledgeable about all the little details. I was delighted with the outcome and will certainly go back whenever I need a re-do of an antique piece or, even if I am looking to buy something new. This store harkens back to the day of personal shopping like no other.

This store is a hidden gem, and a wonderful experience for any watch enthusiast. I was visiting relatives in Boston and did not have specific plans, and walked in purely out of curiosity. I was immediately impressed by the wide range of watch brands and models they carry, from staples like Piaget, Omega, and Jaeger-LeCoutre, to high-end manufacturers like A. Lange & Sohne and F.P. Journe. They even have one of the most impressive cases of certified pre-owned watches I have seen anywhere. Instead, they approach you like a fellow watch lover, and are very generous with their time, expertise, and attention, even if you arent looking to buy anything (like I was). I started talking to the assistant manager, Angelika Chen, about our mutual love of watches. Several hours later, I feel like I had made a new friend. I walked in to Shreve Crump and Low not expecting anything, and left with great customer service and a new long-term friendship. The watch itself is only a close second to the great service. Christina (and Brian!) were both so patient as I deliberated, asked questions, waffled, and wavered on my way to my final decision (the watch was a big purchase for me, and it took a couple of weeks). I had visited many shops and watch dealers before arriving at SC&L, and I can say with confidence that these kind people provided the highest caliber of customer service--theres no comparison. They never talked down to me or questioned my ideas (or my budget), and I really appreciated their patience as I tried to educate myself about the many factors involved in a watch purchase. I learned a lot from them. Christina even called me on her day off when there was a time-sensitive question to be answered. I will certainly do business with them again, and you should, too!

My fiance and I went to Shreve, Crump & Low for our wedding bands, after I had a brief interaction in the store months before. At that time, they were so attentive and communicative with me that I felt strongly they would be the right choice for our bands. Making a jewelry/ watch purchase in a jewelry store in Greenwich might seem intimidating, but we found Shreves pricing very competitive and the service genuine. When we began the wedding band search, Brad remembered me immediately and John Scott took great care in helping us select the suitable bands for us. I then worked with both gentlemen on a surprise gift for my now husband, and they executed the transaction with patience, efficiency and grace. When I was worried the inscription would not be engraved in time, Brad eagerly rose to the challenge and personally brought it with him to an engraver. Brad and John now feel like family. We trust them, and feel genuinely cared for beyond what would be expected in a typical sales based relationship. John and Brad are two authentic and wonderful people and will forever be part of our history...as will Shreve, Crump & Low.

Brad Walker is a true watch enthusiast who will take the time to discuss horological history and the fine details of watch movements from Audemars Piguet to Zenith (A to Z). Other stores offer salespeople. Shreve, Crump & Low offers a relaxed environment where people who read Hodinkee (or other watch publications) can have a real conversation about watches that transcends sales pitches. They just also happened to give me the best price of the day.
