Overall one of the less impressive commissaries Ive been too. I suppose since the base is smaller than others Ive been at (Minot, Randolph, Vandenberg) I should expect a smaller selection, but it is still sorely lacking. And with no sales tax in the state of Montana, and a Walmart Supercenter right off base, there are better, and less expensive, options close enough.

Clean and had a fairly good selection. Staff was nice and didnt make fun of me for not knowing I had to scan my dependent ID haha.

Some prices are better than walmart and some are the same.

Small commissary. Not a great produce selection. Cant do a complete grocery shopping trip at this commissary..basic needs are fine, but not a complete grocery list.

As retirees we utilize the commissary once a month. The last few months Malmstrom AFB deca has put restrictions on some products limit of 2 per item. As a monthly shopper 2 items a month is insufficient for our family of 5.Malmstrom commissary is the only one in Montana where we can utilize our privileges as retired veterans. Because of these restrictions you are forcing us to shop off base to meet our needs. I have called relatives in other parts of the US who do not have these restrictions in place at their commissarys. Why then is it only Malmstrom AFB?

I appreciate all the work that the employees go to keep things organized, orderly, and easy to find. This is one of the smaller commissaries Ive been to, but they normally have what Im looking for.

Small shop with a decent selection for its size. Produce can be iffy but Ive never had a problem if I pay attention to what Im purchasing. Store is always clean and staff very friendly.

Im not sure how a public review helps with a military grocery store, but Ill go with it . . .The commissary is pretty well stocked and has a good assortment of most foods youd want to go buy from any grocery store. The prices are fairly competitive with most any store in town, and somethings, like frozen foods, spices, and bread, are a pretty great deal usually. The one thing that kills me about the commissary is the sales tax. Yes, yes, I know its called a surcharge, but its an added flat percentage tacked onto your bill before coupons are applied. How is that any different from a sales tax? They will tell you that it pays for bags and such, but if I bring my own bags, use the self-checkout, and take it out to my car on my own, then maybe I shouldnt have to pay the surcharge. In a state like Montana that doesnt have any sales tax off base, this extra 5% makes it hard to want to go shopping there.

The only place in Great Falls l can find my Armour Chili and its at a decent price. Thank you.

Everything is clean and easy to find. there were several items I usually shop for that were completely out on the shelf. the meat prices are excellent compared to other stores in town. also their frozen veggies and breakfast items are really well priced too. favorite area is the deli section and their fresh made sandwiches they make. super friendly staff there as well as the sushi section too.

They had many things I had been looking for. Liked walking in finding things I needed and many I wanted. Service was quick.

Always my first stop on shopping day! People and prices are great. I never feel stressed here...can take my time...the customers are polite and smiling, unlike other places. Happy Thanksgiving to all of the staff!

Well stocked and operated during the pandemic. Used the self service kiosk, an employee was sure to wipe it down before I started.

It is going down hill very fast. Prices are not that good and quality of produce is poor. The 5% surcharge should be part of the price you see and not added on.

For quick trips its okay, product selection is fairly limited. It is one of the smaller commissaries Ive been to. Sometimes the limited hours and being closed Mondays can be super inconvenient. Sometimes I can find a product that I cant find off base but these items usually get rotated out seasonally which can be frustrating as well.

Shop there all the time. I am pleased with the staff and the products. The veggie section could improve somewhat .

I’m a frequent shopper at the MAFB Commissary and normally my visits are good. That is if you enter the commissary before 1830. The staff is insistent to let people know they close in 30 min, or 15 mins before you even walk in. Guess they assume I’m going in to get a cart full of groceries when in fact I only needed 5 items. Additionally, the staff seems to have a playful demeanor with other staff members. Unprofessional horseplay. Ex. as I was checking out, Jeremy was supervising the self-checkout. He seemed to be waiting for me to finish my transaction and conversing with another employee on the other side of the register from mine. Then out of the nowhere he slams a money bag in front of me on top of the monitor and says, ”you told me to put it there” (referring to the other employee). Mind you he is standing uncomfortably close next to me to do this.The commissary is convenient for base dwellers and have decent prices. However, expect to be rushed if you arrive close to closing time of 1900.

Cold out but there wasnt a lot of people in the commissary so I was able to move through quickly and get what I needed and get out.

Great place for organic boxed foods and meat... especially chicken wings, cheapest wings per pound around. The produce is hit and miss, sometimes its great and other times its not. LaCriox is cheaper than other grocery stores. Small commissary, relatively speaking, but I still get most of my food items from here.

The best deals on meat anywhere. I love the quality of products here and will always shop here. Thanks

Pretty decent prices, but not always the best. The meat department usually has some of the best at the right price.

As a retired MSgt visiting family, was easy to find it and it was a decent size for the area... not going to have to many exotic items such as we have down in florida.. over of course its the best value of any store in Great Falls!!

Need to quit getting rid of a lot of products shelves are not stocked well.But I love the cashiers and baggers.Always friendly and smiles

Meat prices are the cheapest anywhere in town, period. Other than that, you get more variety elsewhere. All and all its a good value and very convenient.

Great place to shop for retired and active duty military. However I did notice the prices were a little bit higher than where Im originally from in Biloxi Mississippi. Im not sure why since they fall under the DECA. That is the defense commissary agency. I was still a little shocked.

What can I say, it is a commissary. Pretty small but has decent selection. Their produce is not as good at Albertsons or Wal-Mart, but meats are good quality and are much cheaper than competition.

How do they sell expired food, run out of chicken and sell bad produce? SMH.

Been going there since I was 8 years old, great prices and very nice staff and baggers.

I bought $140 of groceries a week ago and was suprised to see that in the last 8 months or so the prices have gone higher than the civilian grocery store with exception to the expired 80% lean hamburger. I incured a $7 surcharge which i read in the bathroom stall is for my benefit.... I can deduce that prices were raised to fet more money for their $271 million dollar surplus. I see no improvements. I also wont be shopping there anymore because the obligation to pay DECA baggers wages for them. Use that $271 million to pay your workers. I need my $1s to buy gas and school supplies.
