I have been using Car Of America for about 3 years now. I brought my 1969 Mercury Montego to CARS of America originally to have them inspect it and see what needed to be done. They were very thorough and honest and the bill was not horrible. I have gone to them for some routine maintenance and my mechanic Mick is very knowledgeable of my car. If you have a car that is out of warranty I would highly suggest checking out CARS of America versus going to the local car dealership. CARS of America does give a warranty which is nice so if there is a reoccurring problem just bring it back to them.

We have been bringing our family cars here for about 20 years. Very professional, trustworthy and less expensive than the car dealers. I appreciate the free loaner car when needed. I recommend them to friends.

AC went bad just at the hottest period of this summer. Brought my car into an impressively clean repair facility.Ken introduced himself and knew I was coming to the repair. He explained that there was a diagnostic fee which was incorporated into the repair cost. Air conditioner needed a new relay and a total Freon recharge. I brought the car home and didn’t feel the AC was working properly. I called them and brought the car back.They found that in the course of the Freon recharge, an airlock in the system prevented cooking properly.They bled and recharged the system and tested it to put out 43 degrees air!Just like new.No extra charge as the work is guaranteed!Thanks good people!

Let me begin by saying everyone was nice, the garage was clean, and the loaner car was convenient. I took my car to Cars of America because they say they specialize in hybrids and electrics. I have a 2010 Prius I wanted them to inspect and repair. I was shocked at the prices.There were many items on the report. Most of the items seemed very expensive to me. One item in particular... They wanted $126 to replace the cabin air filter. A NAPA filter costs $5 retail.Maybe $10 - $15 to me after markup. For a tech who knows what they are doing, the job takes ten minutes tops. $126 for that? I did not have any work done. I felt like I was being taken advantage of.

Meet Bob at a chamber event a few years ago after I moved to Northbrook. It was no longer convenient to see my old mechanic in Lake Forest. I am so glad I found Cars. They are the best. Terrific service, fair prices, great explanations (I never was an engine/transmission guy). I just know when the car isn’t working right. They handle the what and how and understand my hand waving.

I was very happy with their service. They did a beautiful job replacing all 4 tires. One side of My front spoiler was partially removed from driving too close to a high curb. And cars of America reattached it at no charge. Highly recommend them.

Ive been a customer of C.A.R.S. and ONLY C.A.R.S. since around 1990. Their service has always been exceptional and top notch with explanations of what they did, why it was needed and a list of future upcoming repairs, when they should be done and approximate cost. A very big thanks to the team at Cars of America led by Dana for the prompt turn around on my vintage car (68 Imperial). It came in on a flatbed as it was disabled with a transmission problem all just days before the holiday. They had it repaired and ready for me within a day. I had resigned myself to it being laid up for far longer and was impressed with the great service and reasonable repair.

Got give a shout out to Dana and the crew over there for the courteous, professional, and friendly help they have provided me the last month. I had gone in to check a seat belt light in mid December, and they installed a new passenger seat belt pretensioner to fix the problem. However, the part itself was defective and the anchor had gotten unlatched itself about a month after the service (which should never have happened). I called them back up to see what they could do, and Dana brought me in, checked it out, and ordered a new part to replace this defective one without charge, and got me out of there in a quick 30 min. I really appreciate the help on that, and would recommend

Of many experiences at Cars this was as good or better than most. They were able to get two major repairs done the same day as promised and supply me with a loaner. Not sure I should have driven much further but their prompt service solved my problem.

All the workers are so nice and accommodating. I was going out of town on a business trip the following week and really needed my car serviced on a Friday. I didn’t have an appointment, but they asked me to drop off my car and they would do their best to get it in. A few hours later, they called to let me know it was ready.I’ll definitely be going back for all my other auto needs.

I took my car to do diagnostics and they did it and the service engine light that was on did not come anymore. So they mentioned they wont charge now but if it comes again I can bring it anytime.they also gave me a loaner vehicle during that time. I would recommend cars of America. Cars of America is great. Everyone always treats me with respect and service is done well and quick. They offer snacks and cable TV while you wait. They also offer loaner vehicles and have a shuttle service. I have been to a few places in the area and this one far better then anyone else around. They also give coupons for a free car wash from the place down the street when you get services done. I would highly recommend them!

Ken, Danae and anyone I have ever dealt with here has been SO amazing. They are incredibly helpful and kind. They patiently provide all of the details and help you figure out the best options for repairs, services etc. I wont go anywhere else since Ive found them. The local BMW dealer told me that I had a nail in my right rear tire and quoted me well over $300 for a replacement. The dealer said is was a small leak that was not detected by the LP sensor.I decided to get a second opinion from CARS of America.First they quoted me the same replacement tire for almost $100 less and had it transferred from their warehouse for immediate installation. I authorized the replacement.Next, in the process of removing and inspecting the bad tire, the technician could not find the nail. There was a some sort of wire/staple lodged in the tread, but no nail and leak, puncture.....no leak period.CARS of America could not sell me a new replacement tire in good conscience. They remounted my old tire and did not charge me for their work.Every member of the staff where kind and courteous. Bottom line, these folks are highly recommended by me!

Fast and easy. Didn’t even see them work on my car they did it so fast. Had the keys in the ignition ready for me to drive right out of the lot.

I had a great experience here. Working full time, it is hard to find the time to drop off my car, particularly when CARS is not open on the weekends. However, they provided me with a loaner car so that I could drop my car off in the morning and pick it up after work. When I came back to pick up my car, all the repairs were done, my car was test-driven and it was also washed. They have a great referral program and every 5th oil change is free. Definitely recommend.

I was very impressed by the staff at Cars of America. This was my first visit and I challenged them with a very old vehicle with a myriad of aging issues. My technician, Thomas, reviewed the results of his assessment with me and provided honest advice about the value of each item which could be repaired. There was no pressure to make any of these repairs but they were priorized for me so that I knew what was the most critical to address. On a side note, using a loaner vehicle allowed me not to be inconvenienced as I had to juggle the car assessment with my work day. Overall, I’m very satisfied and recommend this organization.

The owner and management team at CARS of America really treated me like an old friend last week when I brought my 2008 Jeep in for a checkup and evaluation on my older vehicle. The folks at CARS of America always greet me with a smile and a hand-shake. They are friendly, courteous and professional. Recently, one of my warning lights came on. After a couple of days the repair was done, I paid my bill and returned home. The next day the light came on again. I returned to CoA. They worked on it for almost a week and got it fixed. And true to their guarantee there was no additional charge. And the problem has not reoccurred.Recently I gave my 1997 Subaru to my son. He took it to his mechanic to have it checked over. I really like that they dont pressure customers or paint a doom and gloom scenario to squeeze more dollars out of us. They simply state the condition of my vehicle, offer recommendations and give me the time to decide on my own.

The fact that they offer a loaner car is very convenient. I also overheard one of the employees offering to pick up a customers car, which is another example of how well they cater to their customers. The managers were polite and very thorough in their explanations and were also prompt in keeping me updated on the status of my vehicle. I have yet to exercise the warranty, but what they offer is excellent.

Have been with Cars for a number of years now. When calling for appts, Dana and Brian are very accommodating to my schedule, and can always provide me with a loaner car if needed. The work is excellent, and they truly stand behind their work. I would never go anywhere else, have even had them check over used cars that we were thinking of purchasing for our children. Brought my car in for a check engine light.... p0330 and p0325..faulty knock sensors.I asked them to diagnose the problem and get back to me......They said my wiring harness was bad and replaced it...over $1000.. 2 days later the light came back on.I called and left them a msg. But never got a call back. So, taking matters into my own hands, I purchased a new ECU (computer) for the car, since that was the other only thing that could be faulty ...that fixed the problem. What they replaced and charged me $1000 was a complete waste of money.Very dissapointed.... Now they say...since I didnt bring my car back to them...they can do nothing about the over $1000 needless repair.In your reply below...you say you stand by your parts....BUT YOU REPLACED THE WRONG PART!I didnt need a new wiring harness for over $1000, I needed a new ECU... computer.

I love Cars of America and give them my highest recommendation. I drop my car off in the morning, they give me a loaner so I am free all day and not stuck in a waiting room, then I come back and my car is fixed without any surprises.

We recently used Cars of America for our two cars--they both needed regular oil change appointments and new tires. Dana worked with me closely to help look at the options for the new tires and provided recommendations for both but was happy to look at other options for one of the cars after some questions that came up during my independent research on the tires. Our cars were fixed very quickly and the service provided by all the staff in terms of answering our questions was excellent. When one of our cars started making some different noises on the way home, we took it back to the shop and they were happy to examine the car and make sure everything was safe. As new customers, we are very happy with our first experience with Cars of America and would definitely recommend them to friends and family.

I have finally found a place to service my car! I scheduled a service appointment on the internet and received a call within hours to set up an appointment for the next. Service was prompt, complete and explained completely. Things needed to be done in the future were prioritized. All work is guaranteed. I will return......and did return. I love the fact that their records included earlier recommendations and that I am able to plan ahead for needed maintenance in terms of time and cost. I have used CARS for decades--they are always excellent. The staff is friendly, the work is done well with almost never a problem. If there is a problem, they address it immediately. And since I own old cars, I am there somewhat frequently. It is always a pleasure to take my cars there.

Ive been a customer for years and this is my first experience working with Kim. She is terrific! I felt comfortable working with her and she gave me some very helpful advice regarding my Town and Country that was not related to the service. I also felt her advice on the repair of my vehicle was honest and the final invoice was very, very fair. Both Ken and Kim have a way of talking to their customers that make the customer feel as though they are getting good, honest advice on the required (or not required) maintenance needed. Bob DuPre (owner) seems to always hire the right people for his shop which is why I keep returning.

I went in because i had low coolant. they quickly identified that I had a leak and it needed fixed asap. they completed the diagnostic work before i realized I had an extended warranty still on my car and therefore needed to take it to a dealership for the work instead. they refilled my coolant and didnt charge me the cost of the work they already did because they said it wouldnt be fair (even though it was 100% my fault for not knowing about my own warranty and they had every right to charge me). the staff is nothing but helpful and explained to me exactly what was wrong and provided me with the number for roadside assistance in case my car broke down before i could get it into the dealer (which ended up happening). i plan to continue to go here for all future car needs

I got a flat tire the night before and when I took in my car Brian and his crew not only fixed my tire but also gave me the best advice about my car and its condition. They werent pushy on telling me what to do but made sure I knew everything about my car possibly before I left. The shuttle service was also a big hit for me since I work in the Glenview area but live 20 miles away and dont really have any other transportation options so that was a big plus for me. This car repair shop is more like a boutique!They are friendly, courteous and explain the repair in a way that I understood. They completed my repairs while I waited in a very comfortable waiting area that had snacks, drinks and a TV. The bathroom was as clean as mine at home! I needed to find a place that could change a burned out headlight on my car so I didn’t get a ticket. My work hours are long and it’s hard for me to find somewhere to take my car. I happened to get off a little early the Friday I went. I called and spoke with someone and she was extremely helpful and said I could just walk in. When I got there they were extremely friendly and helpful! They even let me know about their drop of and pick up service and that they also have loaner cars if need be. The prices quoted to me were fair and I plan to use them as my new repair place for my car. They gave me a great deal on my headlight repair and I am most grateful to them!! Anyone who asks me who needs a good shop in the area will be told about Cars of America in Glenview!!

My car was serviced over the labor day weekend while we were on a short driving trip with our second car. The work was completed as ordered and the car was ready for pickup on Monday, even though it was a holiday. I was able to pick the car up with a second set of keys, and was able to arrange for a final payment to be made later this week. Excellent!
