A rare Hometown mechanic, The type of guy that will tell you how to fix it yourself. I have brought in vehicles for everything from oil changes to body lifts, Never an issue and always on time. Not the cheapest shop in town, But you truly get what you pay for, Especially with auto repair. Keep up the good work guys!

John is a great and honest man. I took my car in not knowing what was wrong with it. I thought it was the rack and pinion that was leaking . So I lifted there so John could work on it. He quoted me $351 bucks, and that it would be done by 3 or 4. I was home when my cell rang, it was John. He told me that my car was done and that he saved me some cash. I get there and his wife tells me that its $193. I was like wow what happened? She says that they didnt need to replace the hose only an over ring, I was great. He could of easily say that they replaced it, I would never have known. Honesty is what I saw, hes got my business thats for sure.

I went in for a clutch repair, and an overall transmission repair. Being a little afraid of dishonest mechanics, I took my bets and took my car to John at C.A.R.S. Auto Repair. I couldve not asked for a better mechanic than John and his crew. Theyre professionals at what they do without a doubt.If he sees something that should be replaced or fixed hell let you know. These guys work very clean, they do not make a mess out of your car. They work very fast, and if anything goes wrong after your repair, you can take it back and theyll have you back on the road in no time, at no extra cost within the warranty. I also appreciate that they keep your vehicle indoor overnight. (Yes, I was paranoid enough I checked everyday)If youre looking for a fast working, honest mechanic, that wont rip you off, John is best person to come to when your car needs repairs. I would recommend this repair shop to any of my friends,and anyone in general.

I called John describing the issues I was having with the clutch on my sons Nissan 370Z. He was able to diagnose the problem, as well as research part options and, give me an exact estimate all over the phone. I dropped the car off later that day for what turned out to be a fairly big job (the master and slave cylinders for the clutch needed replaced), it was done in a little more than a day and it is running great. He stuck to the EXACT price quoted on the phone and was several hundred dollars less than the dealership. But what I was most impressed by was, this was the only shop out of the many in that area which didnt tell me that, I needed to replace the clutch, which I already knew didnt need to be replaced. Every other shop I called told me on the phone the clutch should be replaced as well, which was definitely unnecessary in my case.

From my experience, this company was honest and straightforward about what was needed to replace a bumper on my van. They were true to what they said and completed the work in a more than timely manner.I totally recommend them.

I recently had issues with my check engine light, another mechanic had me expecting to pay hundreds of dollars to make repairs.At Chi Town they ran a diagnostic, reset the light, and gave me helpful advice.
