Fantastic garden center / nursery. Prices were good, plants were gorgeous, and the staff was extraordinarily helpful. We ended up buying a few plants, and trying three different flavors of ice cream from the gift shop. We will definitely be going back anytime we need herbs, ornamentals, or vegetable for planting. Highly recommend.
I love this place so much. It’s absolutely gorgeous and they have such huge assortment my mind is blown every time. It’s clear they put a lot of TLC into their plants. Cannot recommend more!
We love this place. The owner is super knowledgeable and helpful. Every time we go I end up getting into a great conversation with him.Huge variety of vegetables, herbs, flowers. They also have everything you need to get your garden started (pots, soil, compost, raised beds, tools, etc).Dont even get me started on their lavender fields (tours available) and the big draw for my kids: lavender ice cream. We love this place and theyre active spring through fall with seasonal plants. Their prices are in-line or cheaper than Lowes, and you can tell that the plants youre buying have been given lots of attention beforehand. One note that might turn some people off: no pets allowed. I dont see this as a negative, but some people might.tldr: its a good day when Lavender Fields is on the docket
Lovely farm with knowledgeable staff! Lavender Lemonade and coffee ice cream were wonderful!
Been shopping here for along time and yearly. Never seen such a large variety of plants. Really has grown.
They had a really great selection of plants and were really nice and very helpful. We’ll definitely be back!
Lavender Fields is my favorite nursery in the greater Richmond area! They specialize in lavender of course with by far the best selection of varietals and lavender you can pick yourself. They also have an amazing array of herbs and vegetable plants. My favorite is all the ornamental Salvia they carry. No one else has Coral Nymph (annual) and Rockin Blue Suede Shoes and Rockin the Blues perennials. Going there is more like a fun field trip than shopping!
Staff is super helpful and I heard the ice cream is amazing!
A really quaint farm tucked in Glen Allen with helpful staff and great variety.
Great selection, friendly knowledgeable service, beautiful setting, hearty plants.
Been here several times and prefer going in the summer. Such a beautiful property. Love herbs and flowers and really believe in their work.
Very friendly and helpful. I will be back!
A nice little place!! Friendly people working there and lots of cute thing in the shop, along with a wonderful selection of plants and gardening supplies, and sometimes yard art. Definitely reccomend the lavender icecream! Lovely to eat while sitting at the benches overlooking the forest.
I love going to Lavender Fields Herb Farm! Theres always beautiful things to see and wonderful things to smell! I just needed bug spray (that I know has no toxic ingredients) and lavender for sachets.
A cute place to buy lavender goodies!
Very friendly, helpful, and knowledgeable.
We went with very little knowledge before hand and had a great time! For 7 dollars a person you get your own little lavendar plant, some delicious ice cream, and some time in the field to cut your own lavendar sprigs . The prices at their shop are super fair and they have a lovely selection of plants and garden decorations. Super great people and a super great place, thanks for the lovely time!
An absolutely Great Place to visit and to smell the aroma of lavender.
Attended a winter wreath making event here in Nov. Had a great time. We got a tour of the place and were able to cut additional greenery, herbs, etc to accent our wreaths. Plan to return when lavender is in season.
Went with my family one weekend and they had classes which the kids loved. I even learned some things and we are thinking about growing some herbs and lavender our back. We had a really nice time and had their ice cream.
Smaller than we anticipated but fun for whole family. Great ice cream and friendly staff.
Great place to stop and get local honey and fresh dried herb blends. The last time I was in I got their Herbs de Provence. Wow what a difference a fresh dried herb blend makes. My chicken never tasted so heavenly. It also works for salads, spreads, fries, and so forth. Be generous. Years ago I went with my family & everyone tried the lavender ice cream, quite delicious. They’re tucked away in Glen Allen, certainly a hidden gem of the area.
Beautiful farm with lots of lavender and other plants. Take a tour of the lavender fields!
Thank you for letting my family to check out all your cool plants
I have lived within half a mile of here since 1995 and never heard of this place, just saw the dinky roadside sign. My mother and I happened to pass it last Saturday and decided to finally see what was happening down there. Amazingly beautiful place. We stayed for a few hours- they had free classes this day- and really enjoyed the beautiful scenery and plants for sale. If you live nearby, stop in to look around... I dont even like lavender, and I loved this place.
Ive been shopping here for over 10 years for everything from hard-to-find specialty herbs, raw local honey, organic vegetable seedlings, pumpkins, gifts from the shop, and always an ice cream ;) As someone who works in the plant industry Ive always found their pricing more than fair for the quality of what they offer and the fact that they are certified organic and locally grown. Helpful staff, beautiful setting- five stars every time for a decade!!
I have been visiting Lavender Fields Farm for more than 10 years, and it has been wonderful watching this family-owned business grow and thrive. Its a beautiful hidden gem thats only moments off of 295. Be sure to give their local honey a try!
Absolutely beautiful place. Many options, and very unique. The people who run the place though are a tad rude and unfriendly. They treated us like they didn’t want us there, which is understanding for I believe they live at the location. Yet, if you’re going to run a business at your home that’s known and welcomed to the public, then treat your admires like their welcomed.
This was my first time attending today. I was invited by my friend and his wife. Beautiful place. The staff were wonderful, knowledgeable, and friendly. Would love to take my mom and sisters. Thanks for wonderful time. Lord will, I will be returning!!
An oasis of herbs and vegetables. Lovely little shop with something for everyone. Good place to shop for birthdays, Mothers Day, Christmas -or just a spontaneous present. A gardeners delight. Wonderful staff as well.
I love the place, developed a friendship w Shawn as i have been coming here since they first opened. I buy something every time to support them. However, their plants are from seedlings and tiny, their price is twice what Stranges has for more established plants. So i dont buy as much as i would like to.
My happy place. Lovely garden and a gift shop that smells devine. Herbs for cooking and essential oils available. Recommend the French Garden blend of herbs.
Absolutely lovely place to pick up plants and gifts! The staff were helpful and knowledgeable about their plants and beyond willing to assist you. Overall great experience!
Beautiful display of lovely creation. Lavender is just the start. Stop in for treats made of Honey direct from the on-site hives. Theres a cozy store with delightful smells of lavender, lemongrass, and other natural scents. Try some of their refreshing lavender lemonade, good even on a chilly winter day. Hand and cuticle balm with a warm, clean smell helps cracked and tender cuticles. Looking to start your own herb garden? Let the lovely folks at LFHF get you started with a raised bed and soil. What a beautiful earthy space of loved creation. Check out their calendar online, then Bring your Family and Friends for a visit. This special farm is truly a treat. ~ldct~
The staff were very courteous and helpful, and the lavender oil and balm were great. There is also a lavender bug repellent that I look forward to using. The lavender ice cream is delicious! I highly recommend you visit Lavender Fields!
Such a cute little Shop!! The lavender ice cream is DIVINE!!! nice people great environment! Drove 2 hours and didnt regret it! Im sure we will be back
Great selection and very knowledgable staff! Didnt expect to stay for 1.5 hours just meandering and enjoying the day - if its available be sure to try the lavender lemonade and lavender ice cream while sitting out by the creek/river. Very highly recommend whether youre looking to buy plants or just get out of the city for a little bit.
Wonderful experience. Beautiful, peaceful place. Sherry, the Mgr, was very friendly and helpful. Will be returning in the fall for the hour-long Guided Farm Tour...Honey Ice Cream is delish!
We came to check out the place and thought it was beautiful. We wanted to take some pictures but the staff would not let us. I was confused as to why they would not want people to take pictures in order for them to get more publicity. We left because we were not going to pay to just stand next to a tiny lavender field. Also, they do not allow pets which is understandable but their own dog crapped in the lavender field when we were there. I would not recommend this place to anyone.
Nicely done and ready to guard on the covid19
Great customer service. Offers educational classes and are friendly. Great place to purchase plants.
I love the great selection of organic herbs! As well as the local honey. The staff are fabulous!
I literally just left, drove 30 minutes to check it out. Total waste of my time. There was the most awkward, uncomfortable, unhelpful kid working that told me nothing about the farm. He made me want to run away fast...it was a cringeworthy experience. He told me there were no self guided tours when the website said there are. I had to tell him the price of something a bought (not even sure why I would support such a rude and unwelcoming place but I did. And then I left 5 minutes after arriving since the rude child working told me there was literally nothing else to do there but the empty shop... he basically told me to leave after staring at me in horrific silence, go pretty much ANYWHERE else.
Went by there for Spring Fair and it was very nice. Area is shady, they had things for kids to do, chick-fil-a and ice cream trucks.
I have been getting honey here for years and never once had a bad experience. They have unique products and gifts and are always eager to help.
One of my favorite places to go. Wonderful staff and little gift shop for the not so ordinary gifts.
Great place to educate yourself on plants! Thank you. Lavender ice cream was yummy😏
Sherry gave good information about all products. She was so nice, great with customer service.
Great place to Christmas shop. Staff are excellent.
Great place. Lavendar lemonade and ice cream is great.
Lovely lavenderiferous locale hospitably hosting helpful herbal homeopathies, easy essential esculents, & delectable dairy delights, supporting pleasingly polyphonous pollinators, rolling down the stream (smoky wind blow), sipping on mint and fruits, laidback, with their mind on their honey and their honey on their mind...
A cute place with fun classes, cool stuff to buy and nice staff!
Disappointing. Very expensive. Skip this and go to Trader Joes, Whole foods, Elwood Thompson, Lidl or Stranges nursery.
Great gardentour of the grounds! Wonderful lavender products!
Nice peoples, very friendly, a lot good thing....
Great place. Brings out your creativity.
Awesome service! Definitely try the lavender lemonade 😍😍😍
