Went into the store to get programs printed for my Dad’s funeral and Michael in the printing department jumped right on it and completed the job very quickly. I appreciate his amazing customer service.
I had to go to this Office Max to scan two items and forgot my reading glasses. A very kind and understanding employee named Hunter helped me. He was so gracious and helpful and had a great sense of humor. I appreciate his attitude so much and will certainly keep returning to this particular store.

Not sure where the reviewer noting they have closed actually drove to, but she must have been lost.... or maybe she got there after hours and was just ticked off.we have been coming to this location for more than 10 years, and have purchased printers, laptops and all types of office and school supplies here. When they have a sale their prices smash Best Buy (just down the road) and their service is good too.This is where we have gone for all of our Back To School sale needs. Only place I go to when we have a printer ink emergency and dont have the time to order online.Nice folks. Great prices when they have sales. Good location.
I have gotten business cards made here for about 2 years. I go in today and they said that it’s a $10 fee if I want to give them my image directly as opposed to ordering online. I never was charged this fee before and it completely defeats the purpose of doing business with them rather than vistaprint.

So, people always put stuff in the wrong place! I came in to buy a clear desk pad and I seen a great deal on one. So awesome I take it to the front and of course it rings up a way higher price I seen. The lady says she will check. She goes back there and says that price is for the black one. Just that clear one I picked up was in the wrong place. Now this is the reason I scored so low. That was a lie because the clear and the black pads were in the same place. This is why I like going back there with workers because some will remove where the items are. I choose 3 starts because they gave me a discount (not the price I seen of course). The lie is what turned me off aka...the fluff of the truth.
The friendly helpful staff at this location makes it one of my favorites. The people are knowledgeable and friendly, and they have a pretty good selection. That being said, their prices are a bit high, but you can get in and out quickly, unless theyre unusually busy.
How is this company even still in business!? Just in regard to the location, the store is in an awful place! Management doesnt seem to care about the presentation of the store at all! Store Manager walks around and is unkempt himself which I assume is why the store looks the way it does. Please close this location! Do not promote the manager he needs to be let go!

Best back to school shopping location. Plenty not supply options for office, school. Dont see much benefits from rewards program, but use it. Like hours of operation. Store always clean, stocked and organized.
It was refreshing to walk into a store and find the staff welcoming, helpful and eager to serve. This store team seems to have it right and I throughly enjoyed an experience I was not looking forward to. If more stores were like this one I would return to brick and mortar and slow down my use of the internet for purchases.

Its very frustrating that they say items In Stock on their website but when you click to order, they send you an email later saying they do not have the item. I cannot purchase from you anymore and have no choice but to let the world know how you do business. Good luck with this business model. I just placed my order on Amazon and will be arriving same day.
Usually fast service, staff could have MUCH better attitudes. Go there often, employees are always in a terrible mood.Leave your personal life at home, you get paid to do your job and provide excellent customer service, random customers do not deserve your negative energy.

Credit where credit is due! Id like to thank Selma (one of the managers there) and everyone else. I had a weird situation, and they took care of it without hesitation.Id ordered a desk from their website, and picked it up from another Office Max location, since it was closer. I get the thing almost entirely built, only to discover that one of the glass desktop pieces was completely shattered (think a car window after a wreck). The store I picked it up from offered to replace just the piece, but the one they had in store was wrecked too. I looked online, and it turned out that the Brook Road/VCC location had the same one in stock.I expected a return, but because I didnt check everything before beginning assembly, I was stuck: if I just did a regular return, Id have to take it apart and then re-build the new one. I called the VCC one, explained my situation, and they agreed to replace just the piece without hesitation. I went by there, and Selma helped me pull the glass piece I needed out of the box for the one they had (and it was the only one in stock) and take it out to my car. No hassle, no convincing on my part, they just did it. I couldnt ask for more under the circumstances.

I was totally ripped off! I bought a Master Card gift card.Found out you had to join using your social security number.Tried to return it, they said it was non refundable.Talked to Manager Richard Bernard he said even though there was no warning about being non refundable. They kept my $60.Big Rip Off! Stay away.

How can an office supplies store not stock 11x17 paper higher than 20 pounds
Every time I come in here to get something printed or made, they would rather give me excuses for why or how they can’t do something rather than a solution as to how we can get my invitations or cards printed. Gotta hire people that want to be here for a change. It’s pathetic. I’m showing up with money ready to spend, and they only want less work and to direct me out the door or to another store.
IF I COULD HAVE RATED MY EXPERIENCE A 0, I WOULD HAVE!!!!To be honest this experience has left me questioning the service that I would receive if shopping at Office Max as well as my trust in the company. As a business professional, myself, I believe that if you treat your customers with respect, dignity and kindness you will have a customer for life, however during my recent visit to one of your locations I was treated just the opposite. On Saturday August 19th, I went to my local Office Max located at 10091 Brook Road, Glen Allen, VA 23059 with the intent to get some invitations printed for my son’s birthday party that I was organizing. I had my two-year-old son with me. When I entered the store, there was a woman behind the printing counter, I failed to get her name, but she was an older white woman with blonde/gray hair. She was helping another customer at the time so my son and I waited patiently for service. Now my son is a normal active child and I always make sure he behaves and have no problem correcting him if he doesn’t. While we were waiting he was entertaining himself by making noises and such (like normal two year olds do), but wasn’t being loud, obnoxious or causing a disturbance in the store. When it was our time to approach the counter, the OfficeMax representative and I began discussing my needs and she kept interrupting our conversation with, what I consider to be very rude remarks about my son. Remarks such as “Oh, he’s really active, how do you deal with him all the time?” “Isn’t he a distraction?” “and you’re giving him a party?”I clearly became irritated and responded, “ma’am, this is my child and I love him and this is what 2 year olds do”. Then I asked if she had children. Her response was “well, no I don’t”. I then told her “A two-year old talking nonstop and making little noises is normal. This is what 2 year olds do! Now can we focus on this invite? How do I need to format it?”Then she proceeds to ignore me and talk into her ear piece saying “He’s over here saying all of the words he knows and making all of the noises he can” I asked her “who are you talking about?” Her response: “My co-worker just said: he sounds like A DOG THAT’S BEING TORTURED”.Never in my life have I ever been treated with such disrespect and rudeness. I am beyond furious that one of your employees made such derogatory statements about my two-year old son, especially the one where she was comparing my son to a dog. I find this behavior to be terribly unprofessional and quite honestly cost you a sale. Now my business may not be as big as other business you bring in, but if she behaves this way with me, how many other opportunities have you lost because of your employee’s unprofessionalism and rude behavior. I am an insurance agent for a large insurance Company and I know this behavior would never be acceptable and If I ever talked to my clients the way this woman spoke to me, I would be out of a job. Not only am I representing myself, I am representing my company.I brought this matter to the attention of the manager on duty and she showed no empathy and defended the remarks of the employee, making me feel like I was in the wrong, when I was the one that was treated so unfairly. If these employees at this Office Max location are a representation of the culture you want to create at Office Max, then you will never have my business. I will also be sure to tell all my clients, friends and family to do the same.
