Excellent service. If you e been taken advantage at auto places, It is difficult to trust recommendations from other sources that use gimmicks to get you in to see them. But I felt I was well taken care of at this recommended establishment. Would recommend and I’ll be back.

My entire family uses this company even though we live in different cities which in itself is such a strong statement about what a good company this is. I always feel like they communicate with me without any sort of manipulation about what needs to be done on my car. Preferred replaced the starter motor and did a complete overhaul / replacement of the AC compressor, condenser, engine mounts and drive belt in my aging Honda. I was happy to receive an overlapping labor discount and Preferred kindly diagnosed and rectified a simple check engine light issue at no extra cost. Preferred brought new life to my aging Honda at very fair price and did it quickly. I’m very satisfied with my overall experience at Preferred.

David and his team never let me down, I went in for an oil change and inspection due to running over a dead animal. They fixed my plastic cover that had been broken due to the dead animal and even fixed my tpms light! Highly recommend you taking your car to have then take care of it!

I ended up going here because of the reviews, and showed up for coolant flush for my truck, and they didn’t end up doing the flush they just charged me for the labor to check it out “$124” I mean at that point I was just upset about it. They ended up calling me and saying I needed a head gasket because the truck over heats. I was confused because the truck just passed smog and didn’t over heat it was perfect, and drove all the way to San Jose and back to Gilroy no problem. It ran very smooth and never even overheated. When I told them I didn’t want to do it. They left it how it is. I went to go pick it up and the truck was over heating before I can even make it home. Now I will never take it there and never recommend anyone to take it there. DISAPPOINTED!!!!

They got me right in and ran diagnostics for my engine light. They were honest, professional and friendly. They knew I was traveling and could have told me my car needed immediate service, but they were honest that it could wait. If I lived in Gilroy, they would always get my business. As someone that doesn’t know much about cars, honesty is as important as skill. Preferred has both.

I have frequent Preferred Automative for several years and I’ve always been completely satisfied with the customer service. My last visit to say the least was awful. I felt like I was wasting David’s time. My vehicle had to be towed in and when I picked it up, it was worst off than when I dropped it off. (I had it towed from Preferred). I was never given a complete diagnosis of what could possible have caused the engine light to come on. Instead I was accused of operating the vehicle with no oil (which I would never ever do!!). David also told me my vehicle left a large oil spill mess that had to be cleaned up (my apologies, I’m sure this may have been avoided if my vehicle had a proper examination ). To top it off, I left owing money that was never communicated to me in advance by David. I’ll never go there again, which is disappointing.

SOOOOO GREAT!!! Dan (I think that was his name I forget 😅) was SOOOO NICE!!! He helped me even though I didn’t have an appointment (pandemic & all 🤦🏼‍♀️) & said they could check my car out later that day!!! When I called on my lunch to check on my car they told me exactly what was going on & what they could do. They could order parts & have my car fixed by TOMORROW!!! SOOO AWESOME!!!! I have a smartcar too so it’s not an easy car to work on & parts are not cheap, & THEY STILL FIXED IT!!! SOOO FAST WITHOUT AN APPOINTMENT 😭😭I was so happy hahah 😂 When I asked if they had after-hour pick up, they said they did, & they also said they have in-town shuttle service if you want your friend or relative to pick up your car!!! IN-TOWN SHUTTLE SERVICE!!! WHAT COILD BE BETTER!? Literally my BEST experience at a mechanic shop EVER 😭 they have the AAA Member 10% Labor Discount too!! Completely BLEW my expectations!! Went in for a simple oil change. Asked if they could check fluids since I am about to embark on a road trip through the mountains. Stated that is part of the service. Also told me my breaks needed replacing. Thank goodness!!! I had been hearing squeaking for about a year but no other mechanic thought it was important! Now i can go about my trip in safety. We needed an oil change and tire rotation. David and his team responded quickly and did the job in no time. We will be back as needed for our automotive repairs and servicing.We returned to Preferred Automotive when an electrical problem surfaced. It turned out to be only a battery issue that was promptly solved by replacing our old battery. Again we were pleased with David and his team in quickly and efficiently resolving the issue problem.

From the moment I first called and spoke to Sarah about my urgent engine problem on my 2011 Corvette Grand-Sport, I could tell I was in safe hands. Sarah was able to get my 2011 Corvette Grand Sport in immediately, which was a HUGE help to me because I had to get back to San Francisco that evening. They were able to diagnose the problem, get the new parts from the Chevy dealership, and have my car fixed and ready to go the same day by 5pm! EXCELLENT SERVICE!I was especially impressed by Sarahs ability to answer all my questions regarding my car without having to put me on hold so she could ask the specific person that worked on the car. I’ve been using Preferred for bout 3 years and they have been excellent.

I was a short distance from Preferred when I lost a tires inflation. Thankfully arriving at their office they surveyed the damage & got me a ride home very quickly at no charge. Shortly thereafter I received a comprehensive call relating the greater extent of damage. I authorized repairs which were done quickly and they dispatched a free ride for me to pick up my car. Disaster averted. Well done!

I came upon these guys by accident and I have been a loyal fan for the past 3 yrs. I have and 1995 VW Eurovan (kind of unique) but Sarah (girl boss) can always find parts for it and Dave and his crew know where to put them. Stranded 2,400 miles from home can be frustrating. Finding a reliable diesel repair shop in California was a crap shoot. Stopping in Gilroy, the garlic capital of the world, answered our prayersSarah was very responsive to all our concerns and questions.We dropped off the vehicle on Wednesday and had an estimate in hours.Torn O-rings on 2 injectors needed replaced. Tearing off the top end and and returning to us by Friday was a tall order. David assured us they could deliver. Friday at 3pm we were on the road again.
