This is truly a neighborhood shop, the staff is friendly knowledgeable and take the time to actually listen and help! They have supplies for your bike pretty much whatever you need and they can show you how to use it properly! Not a large clothing selection. Gem!

Ive been going there for maintenance and repairs since 2017. Knowledge staff and fair prices. My bike is always ready well before the expected date. Went in today and was so happy with the service Jason provided. He went to the parking lot to watch me ride and confirm that the adjustments and maintenance were done to my satisfaction. Another great experience with this shop.

Germantown Cycles is a small, well maintained, neighborhood bike store. I worked with Rich and he helped me find the right bike for the type of riding that I do. He was very patient with my myriad of questions and really helped me to choose the bike that would work with me best. I didnt give him a budget and I really appreciate that he didnt just try to put me in a more expensive bike. I have really bad issues with hand numbness and the Giant Cypress DX should really help with this as it sits more upright so much less pressure on my hands.I would definitely recommend Germantown Cycles and will continue to give them my business when I can.

Horrendous experience. Rude staff. I generally never leave bad reviews, but I am compelled after they treated me the way they did today.I tried assembling a bike after I got it online and could not get the front wheel in place. I called them and they confirmed to bring it in. After I took it, their tone changed. They claimed I needed to book an appointment and the earliest available was in June. I could see one person standing there doing nothing.I will make sure I will dutifully avoid them.

These people had no idea about bikes, I brought a bike for repair, they said the bike is a mess, but I knew it was not. And they told me they can’t work on it because they don’t how. Then I took my bike to another place, other bike repair shop told me only couple of place needs to adjust.

They are great!They have serviced 4 of my and my wifes bikes (they are great, their attitude towards the work and the attention to detail is on an entirely different level.I am incredibly pleased with the quality of their services... (Rich and the guys are great mechanics).

This shop lives up to the hype! Awesome staff, great service, great everything! I messed up my bike trying to add new pedals and ended up ruining the threads of my crank arm. I called and they had the piece in stock and even went the extra mile in showing me how to do it myself. This was great for me since I am a DIY person. Took their advice and BOOM! problem solved.You guys freaking rock!

I was told the pedal insert was not repairable. I knew it was repairable, so I bought the tools and repaired it in 30 mins. I do most of my bike repairs but have used Germantown Cycles for repairs that requires special tools and skill. This type of repair is fairly common and appropriate for an SLX crank. The two gentlemen at the shop did not provide an explanation of why the crank was not repairable and I was quickly dismissed. As I mentioned, I have used Germantown Cycles before and my SC full suspension was serviced properly. I think this business does want to be community bike shop and provide good sales and support but Germantown Cycles disappointed me.

Fantastic bike shop with super helpful staff. Bought a new hybrid bike from them this fall. They took the time to walk me through all the options and were really helpful in explaining the pros and cons of each type of bike in order to find the one that was a great fit for me. I had an issue after a bumpy ride with gearshifting and brought the bike back to the shop, where they helped me understand what happened, and quickly made the adjustments to get it back to running like new free of any charge. Would highly recommend for any new bike purchase or repairs!

I would say that the superior rating is well-earned. I did a somewhat credible job of putting together my sons bike, except that I was completely mystified by the brake system. As the staff member would go on to explain, the brakes are more challenging than most people realize.They quoted me a reasonable price to install the brakes, and even though they never raised that price, the staff member thoroughly checked and tightened every bolt to specification, including some that I missed, and put air in the tires. And he did all that while I was waiting. The store is very neat and orderly. Id say it has staying power.

- I serviced my 1980s Schwinn World tourist with the, “Complete Bike Tune Up.”- I was given excellent customer service and I am highly satisfied with the work.- Everyone was highly professional and pleasant; our interactions were just awesome! I was treated respectfully and kindly. The shop went above & beyond by completing the work far quicker than we agreed, simply because I needed that and I asked. Okay, heres the deal: I received a $100 gift certificate at Xmas for Performance Bikes and took my bike in for a tune-up (Muddy Branch location). The guy in the back, who seemed rather sleazy, immediately says the price starts at $159 and writes that down. He does a quick measure on my bike chain, says that it will have to be replaced, and writes down an additional $20. He eyeballed the sprocket and thought it looked ok. I had purchased a pair of shifters that I wanted to replace, and he said the labor for him doing so would be an additional $80, so now we are over $250 and he indicates there could be additional costs once he gets to tuning it up. I politely walked out (with bike), went home and quickly changed my shifters (easy), and then took my bike to Germantown Cycles. Wow, what a difference between a local caring shop and larger chain store. Dave was so professional and recommended changing the sprocket with the chain. The complete tune-up with a new sprocket came to just over $100! Germantown Cycles has earned my trust and business for years to come. Thanks guys and keep up the great work. All I can say is support your local bike shop people! After a 10 year bike hiatus, I really needed someone to guide me on what it is I needed for what I wanted to do. Scott walked me through where things are in the bike kingdom. Made a few recommendations and had me on one of the greatest bike experiences I have ever had. I went to Germantown cycles after a bad experience with Performance cycles service department. Germantown did a great job of explaining the service needed and the price and my bike was ready when they promised. My bike is running great now and my new tires look awesome. They have my business 100% now.

I bought a bike from Germantown Cycles about 2 weeks ago and I had a great experience. The staff (Gabe, John, and taller guy with red hair) was knowledgeable and very helpful. I also didn’t feel pressure from anyone there. I even called a few times to ask general questions and they were helpful over the phone as well. I would recommend Germantown Cycles to anyone looking for a new bike.

The new location, which is just a few stores down from the old one) is more convenient to loading and unloading bikes. They have a decent selection of bikes and knowledgeable staff that sell the bikes, do repairs and they provide free check ups and tune ups for bikes bought in the store (they have kept my bikes in great shape)

I went here to get my bike back hub fixed. They gave me a reasonable price (15 dollars) for the adjustment, and that they would call if the hub needs to be replaced. They gave my bike back the next day. Just a few pedals and the bike broke down again, though. I went to them again and they gave back the money. I was happy I got my money back but I wished I got good service the first time around. Bikes are good, though.

I went several times to this shop to look at several bikes and to compare a Giant and a Specialized hybrids to 2 other hybrids from other local shops. These guys were friendly, informative and very much interested in selling and servicing my bike. I talked to three different people there on the different occasions that I visited. They did not have a problem with me testing the bikes out and were very helpful with my many questions I had. If they didnt have a product that I was interested in, they were able to easily order it for me.Because Im a bigger guy working on losing weight, I honestly was afraid that I would not be taken seriously about biking. These guys made me feel much more comfortable about purchasing my new Specialized. I would definitely buy again from them. Im hoping to be a born again biker like I once was. Germantown Cycles, get used to seeing me!

I recommend Germantown Cycles. We bought a bike there in the summer and they told me the tune ups were free as long as we own the bike. And we just had the bike taken in for repair and all we have to do is pay for the part, the labor was free because we bought the bike from this shop.

I got the living social tune-up deal with this place for my mountain bike. It seemed like since they had such a rush of bikes coming through because of this deal, they did not spend a sufficient amount of time working on each bike. Although they definitely improved the condition of my bike, they did not do a very good job. The gears were non-responsive on my first ride out. They also didnt even put air in my tires. If youre looking for a decent tune-up, you may consider finding another shop.

I bought my Giant Escape 3 from here and love the bike and shop :) Had a great experience. The staff was super attentive and answered all my questions. They were very patient with me and never pushed me to purchase anything. I thought the prices were fair, and the tune up perks for buying one of their bikes are great! Would come again even though I live further away.

Nothing but the best to say. They helped me pick a bike with no high pressure. Free tuneup every year. Knowledgeable about bikes and about biking in the area. I am SO happy I went with a local bike shop instead of the internet.

Recently purchased a bike. Had gone in to this store a couple of time to ask questions and compare prices. Heather talked to me personally and was great, answering my many questions. I felt like he was there to give all the information I needed, and not to sell me something I didnt need. Will be bringing all of my bikes there for service.

Got my MTB tuned up here since its right up the street. Reasonable pricing compared to competing cycle shops nearby and the staff really knows their stuff. Going to be buying additional parts from them and will continue to offer my business as long as Im around.

I recently purchased a Specialized Tricross and the buying experience was tremendous. I called ahead, confirmed availability of a sales rep to review the bike, perform a set-up and test ride, and I made the purchase in the same day. Craig was helpful in explaining the aspects of proper adjustments and Jerry performed a comprehensive inspection and adjustment of the bike before delivery.Looking forward to some great rides.

June 10th: I dont like giving bad reviews unless its really deserved. This is one of those times. Place is snobby, doesnt support the rider (false pricing and insurance claims for not lending a tool).Oct 26th: Went to get some break pads before hitting the trails, not open till 12. For a shop that gets a lot of its traffic for mtg riders its up a little late as the other people who showed up learned as well. Dont think I will give them a third chance to disappoint.Enough said, I wont be returning there anytime soon.

I had a great experience purchasing a Giant Anthem from Craig and Lex at Germantown Cycles. Craig is great to deal with and Lex is a great mechanic. The price for my new bike was super compared to the shops in my area, and the service has been exceptional. After the Shimano XTR pedals that I purchased with the Anthem failed after one year, Lex promptly shipped them back to Shimano for a warranty replacement and offered me spares. I plan on making all of my future bike purchase at Germantown Cycles.
