We Broke down on I-40, had our Van Towed, I have experience working on my own vehicles and this shop was far better than most allowing my input and doing my work. Was very impressed with how good ofba job they did. I gave 4 because 5 means perfect tome, but i would love to give them a 4.8

Took my truck in for a dynastic and service. Never got done 3 weeks later they said I needed a new engine. Coil misfire. Took only 15 minutes to change. And 104 dollars. Amigo was asking for 4500 down. Total cost of 9000. And thats not including labor. AND that the vehicle was not starting. They lie and trying to cheat me for my money. The truck started and is still driveable. Be careful when dealing with these guys.

While traveling back home to KCMO from Tucson, the alternator went out in my truck. When youre on the road, its hard to know who you can trust with your vehicle. I am so happy with the service we got from Gallup Automotive Repair. They started on my truck first thing in the morning and had it done by noon. They even did all the work in the parking lot since I had a travel trailer attached. Great respectable poeple! A smile on everyones face!

Honestly I’ll give you guys a 2 star we’ve had a black Dodge Challenger there for over a week an still nothing been waiting waiting waiting, I’d also like to mention we are from Sedona we just want to get the car back I’ve never seen a car part take so long to be delivered ridiculous.

I had the transmission repaired here, on a 1997 Chevy. Now I am reworking what was done on install. Torque converter bolts were lose, transmission support nuts were wrong and pulling through the cross member, they pulled out a bolt out of the transfer case and didnt put it back (now that leaks), and instead of using the supplied rubber transmission fluid line they used some cheep hose that blew not 10 miles down the road. I was happy to get back on the road after being down for a week, but finding stuff like this later does not help. Do it once do it right. Granted I had the transmission almost out and I know all bolts, nuts, and washers were there.

They did a fantastic job repairing a flat on our rental car, after our first night on a weeklong road trip, first thing in the morning.

My car broke down on the I-40 W/B about 30 miles west of Gallup, in AZ. Had towed to Gallup on the tow truck driver recommendation. They did great work and didnt price gouge me. Would highly recommend!

After meeting with the friendly front desk assistants, the guys in the shop changed out the starter, relay and got me a new fuel pump. The car ran great after the fixes.There are a few shops in town, but this one was recommended by the locals as being the best.The total time to diagnosis, get the parts, change them and get me back on the road was impressive.Originally, I was towed here from the interstate. Its a long ways from Arizona to Vermont, and mechanic shops can be a hit or miss. These folks made sure that it was a pleasant and fast experience at their shop.

The guys here helped us out tremendously while we were driving through town. They dont work on diesel engines but went out of their way to help us get our issue resolved. Great people.

My car broke down across the street from their shop but didnt have time to get it fixed so I just left my car there. Spoke to Ana a couple weeks later who really helped me out allot. My car ended up being in there shop for at least a month and was never charged storage fees which was great. Thank you for helping me out Gallup Automotive Repair. You guys did great and I was able to make it back to Colorado.

Had set up appt.for 8:00 a.m. fri. sharp for Alignment, balancing & Mounting. For our f-350 ford. Husband left early to make appt time with grandchild.when they got there and waited, waited.the employee that work on that area of job was not in.🧐🤔...not only make matters worse the truck was to big ..maybe the length, the weight as my other half said.i dont understand if you run a business for so many years, right off the mind,bat you already know as you think ahead about customers veh.size. I had hope with this business. I was excited that we was gonna get this all taken care of. Now! My tail dropped 😔. Omg!! Just dont make sense. If I were you, please seriously QUESTION them first before you set appt. up.

Had my windows tinted here and there or approximately 30 small bubbles due to the windows not being clean properly before applying the film. Drove by several times at 9:15 a.m. and they were not open, though they claim to open at 9:00 a.m. definitely avoid this place.

Took 2.5 months to install a transmission. Paid all of the cost upfront. First tech quit. Left it with no fuel and two discarded disc brakes in the bed. Makes meWonder if it was used to run parts.

The customer service was GREAT, the AC is back to cold, thanks to Jose, whom worked on my Traverse. Job completed within the hour and happy I called for an appointment, which definitely was a plus.

They find the problem/issue and know what it is. Its the waiting for the part (s) that is hard sometimes they dont come in as scheduled. But when they get the part in the car runs good.

They dont repair RV

This auto repair is very honest. My mom and I were returning from Arizona heading back to Oklahoma, when her check engine lite come on. We were able to be seen that morning. It was a simple fix, a hose had came loose. The young lady in the office was very pleasant.

Every person that we encountered at Gallup Automotive went above and beyond in both service and in friendliness. After having an alternator go bad and being towed into their shop, they were super helpful and kind to our family of nine and even offered their pizza lunch to us! The diagnosis was quick and their prices were very reasonable we are very happy with the work that has been done. Would highly recommend!

We were 1,000 miles from home and had a check engine light come on in our vehicle. Gallup Automotive was recommended to us, and they were awesome! They took us right in, checked the problem out and made sure we were going to be safe the rest of the way home. They were so very reasonable in their pricing. We really appreciated them very much! We highly recommend them. They were very good to us and they were a huge blessing.

Got vehicle service here 4 times last was a week and half ago, everything was going good until a day ago the vehicles engine got hot that it nearly burned through our battery. Autozone employee lifted the hood and said something wrong with the radiator (got that replaced at GAR also) and if not the thermostat (also replaced at GAR), autozone manager said it dont look good and gave us battery half price said take it back bcuz the engine could catch fire...

We were broken down hundreds of miles from home and the wonderful people at Gallup Automotive got us repaired quickly and affordably. They even offered a loaner vehicle so we could the things we came to do. Great experience and will use them again.

I had two radiator hoses blow as I was driving from Nevada to Texas. Dropped my car off on Thanksgiving and came in as soon as they opened shop. This was a MB part and MB of Albuquerque didn’t even have the part. The guys did what they could to get me back on the road and their fix lasted me all the way home 800 miles!! Thank you so much! I have the MB parts ordered now and will swap out when they arrive.

Great family run business. The father and son are really nice people. We were on a road trip and my car broke down. They took our car and ordered the parts and we went on our trip with a rental while they worked on the car. They are very honest and great communicating to us during our travels. They even went out of their way to deliver it to me. :)

They helped me while I was stranded and looked after my car for me until I could return for it. Extremely helpful and kind- and the car is running perfectly now!

We were traveling to Las Vegas, Nevada when our car broke down on the side of Interstate 40. Our tow truck driver recommended Gallup automotive and we are so glad he did. They took care of our car and got us back on the road within a couple of days. Bonus points for being located right across the street from a couple of decent and inexpensive hotels! They were very communicative during the entire process so we werent left in the dark, and the price was comparable to other repairs we had researched in Las Vegas.

I broke down in my 20-year-old GMC van 40 miles outside of Gallup. Luckily my insurance provided towing insurance. I asked the tow truck driver to recommend a garage (my insurance had provided 4 to choose from) and he told me that Gallup Auto Repair was an honest shop with fair prices. So, I had him take my van there.They got my van in right away, and fixed the broken fuel filter. Since they were working on other cars when I arrived, and I wanted to get back on the road, they put my van up on jacks instead of the lift. Well, the van fell down (it was extremely heavy due to being loaded to the max) off the jacks (luckily no one was hurt) and the radiator plug was broken. They fixed it for free right away and got me on the road. I only had to pay 89. for the fuel filter and labor and my van got a free radiator flush.Highly recommend this shop, especially when you break down on the road and are stranded in an unfamiliar town they can charge you what ever they want! Something similar happened when my son took the van to CA and the fuel pump broke. To fix that, the garage in Blythe (bunch of crooks) charged me 700.00!Additionally, while I was waiting for my van to be fixed, I opened up my small trailer to air it out and left a piece of equipment out in the parking lot. I called the shop after I got home to Phoenix, and they are going to bring it to me when they go to the Diamondbacks game this weekend! This shop and the owners are some of the nicest and most honest people you can meet.

I was pulling a trailer while traveling across the country and stopped in Gallup. Upon leaving the next morning I noticed my brake pedal was down to the floor when I stopped to top off my tank. Luckily I hadnt gotten back on I-40 yet.As I was waiting for a couple of tow trucks I noticed my brake pedal came back. It was Saturday and AAA told me that Gallup Automotive Repair opened at 8am. It was literally 3 miles away from where I was, so I cancelled the tow trucks and drove there.Upon arriving I met a woman and explained my situation. She told me they could look at my brakes. The staff here are really nice, friendly, and honest people. I believe it was Randall who worked on my vehicle. He took off all 4 wheels and inspected the brakes, brake lines, hoses etc. He did not find any leaks and offered to bleed my brakes. He treated my vehicle like it was his own and I appreciated that.They offered me fresh coffee and some food while I was there. They even took the time to chat with me. It was nice getting to know them a little while I was there. Based on other customer interactions I saw while I was there, it was easy to see these are honest, reputable people who pride themselves on performing quality work. They even offer CDL training classes! How cool is that!The cost was cheaper than expected and they had me back on the road in about an hour and a half. If youre ever in the area and need repairs done, these are the people to see. They will take good care of you and your vehicle, while not recommending unnecessary services. I wish there were more people and auto repair shops like this one!

Car broke down right outside of Gallup, NM and was taken to Gallup Automotive repair. The staff was extremely helpful and accommodating and one of the guys from the repair shop even gave us a ride to the hotel. Would recommend taking a car with any issues to Gaullup Auto repair if in the area.

Out of state plate resident, had my engine worked on, they were able to fit me in the next day, very affordable, secretary is super nice and explained the repair, coffee available.

Day one of my epic road trip and my car overheated. I was towed in late Saturday night and let off here. While the shop is closed on Sundays, I checked in with them first thing Monday morning and was greeted by the very friendly Sadie, who immediately had one of the mechanics diagnose my problem car. The part was ordered and delivered within a couple hours and I was back on the road by early afternoon. I cannot say enough good things about the wonderful service I received! Refreshing to meet nice people and get such great customer service.

Drove my ride on to get worked on and fixed. They told they could fix it. I started buying the parts that was needed to get it fixed. Took a while, but when I got a phone called. i was told to pick it up on a flatbed. I told that I drove it in and mechanic to it for a drive to figure it out the problem. They told me it needed a new engine, when it doesnt!!. Poor job!!.

We were traveling thru Gallup and needed work done on our transmission. We arrived at the shop at 8:00 a.m. and our car was checked immediately and fixed within 2.5 hours. We are very happy with our experience here.

We rolled in unannounced with a suspension problem on a road trip, and these folks got us right in and charged us a very fair price for diagnosing it. They were very kind, and when they realized they could not fix it (we needed a welder) they even called around for is and found someone who could. They were awesome!

Very poor service with keeping us informed. A one day service ended up as a 4 day. Stranded at a hotel with no way to get around. Would be told service would be done by 2 then next day then next day, 4 days later and still getting same answers, still do not have our vehicle . Finally got our truck, come to find out it was mechanics error that caused us to have to stay 3 additional nights! They should be responsible for paying our additional hotel bill!We are now back home and we find there is a gas leak from things put back together wrong so now we will have to get it fixed again. To far to go back to Gallup! Totally unhappy !

They have been fixing my transmission since October, we got it back for about two weeks, then I had to take it back to them because the transmission was leaking fluid. Now its still there, Im tired of calling them and not getting a straight answer. I need my Jeep Liberty! 😪

Van broke down on I-40. I got towed to this shop on Sunday night. On Monday morning the five star service started, to get me back on the road as soon as possible.

When traveling through Gallup our Honda Accord died. The nearest Honda dealer was 150 miles away. We arrived at Gallup Auto Repair late in the afternoon. They immediately worked on our vehicle to determine the cause of our problem and get the parts ordered for delivery the next morning. Honda parts are hard to come by in Gallup, I checked. The next morning the parts showed up and Gallup immediately went to work on my car and had me back on the road well before noon. I cant say enough about the customer and technical service that I received. As an automotive engineer you have my assurance that Gallup Auto Repair is a great place to take you vehicle for service. Talk to Helen in the office and she will take good care of you.

Outstanding & Honest ServiceMy mom and I had been visiting family in Arizona (off the Rez). Ended up getting a service engine lite that came on when we were returning back to Oklahoma- we stayed the nite in gallup - i researched auto repair shops. Im so glad that I found this shop - the office lady was super nice, friendly and very knowledgeable and the mechanics were also. Come to find out it was just a hose that came loose - wasnt charged an arm & leg. We made it back to Oklahoma with no problems.

Took my vehicle in to get some work done. Left it there for about a week due to working out of town... come to find out it was broken into on their lot who “have” cameras and a locked yard where they put the cars at. Very unprofessional when I picked it up. I asked what happened to my car and why it was turned upside down. First, Helen told me the mechanic just moved stuff around out of the glove box but my whole car was trashed. She also said that the car was locked the whole time and nobody was in it but them. I found my medical equipment gone, my change bag that I’ve saved up during all my trips, my personal information/documents from my lawyer, my extra lug nuts/tools, charger and other things I know I had left in my vehicle. They told me they would look at the cameras and get back to me. I waited almost a whole month before I got ahold of Helen herself since she never once called me back. I understand that things like this happen but I called many of times to get a response on what they found out. The older man answered one time and said the owner of the shop who is his son would call me and there had been vandalisms and theft at their shop lately. Nobody called me back! I enjoyed their customer service when I put my car in the shop. I paid over 750$ for my vehicle to be worked on. Now this situation just angered me off because they didn’t even bother to report to the police or keep an eye on my vehicle while in their care. I was estimated over 1200$ for repairs but glad I got my car at the time I did. I now know I can’t trust this shop. My medical equipment were my most valuable things in my vehicle. If y’all have anything worth money or money, take it all with you. And don’t leave it at this shop for more than a few hours. “There is nothing more we can do about the things being stolen.” Yet again... Helen herself said they had the key and found nothing around the yard. No one but them had access to my car. Cameras and gated locked fence.... ??? Did not say more about the cameras.

I was traveling From Lincoln NE to Mesa Az on I 40 about 30 miles east of Gallup the wheel bearing went out on the front passenger side of my van and was unable to go any futher. Called A-1 towing to be towed into town to have the van fixed, was going to go to the FORD dealer untill the tow guy recomended to go to Gallup auto Repair said they are good at getting people back on the road and are very reasonable priced.I m so glad I took tow truck drivers advise. They worked all day on a saturday to get my parsts and van fixed so I could continue home.

We had a Air conditioning issue and had to staop in Gallup NM, We were referred to Gallup Automotive repair and they could not have been more helpful. They repaired the A/C for a very reasonable price right on the spot. They also went above and beyond and took us to a restaraunt to eat while they were dioing the work and even picked us up after. Outstanding service and very nice people !

These guys are thefts stay away they dont know what they are doing I paid for diagnostic they said the timing belt when it was not even broken and now they are tryn to keep my car for $300 for a timeing belt that was never broke where did u go to school for mech. Are you guys even certified. #thefts
