This shop is a shining gem in Gaithersburg. Ron and his team are professionals with the “can do” attitude that provides much more value than just the expense of a repair. Check my car to another shop thinking that maybe the catalytic converter was going bad. That mechanic told me I had a bad transmission which is why I ended up at trans tech. He diagnosed the vehicle and tell me it was definitely the catalytic converter and the transmission was fine. I want ahead and let him put the catalytic converter in and do a transmission service since we both agreed that it had a little bit of a leak and probably has not been serviced since day one.When I got the car back O my God it was a different animal in drove so much better. Highly recommend these guys they did a phenomenal job

Five stars are not enough - Ron deserves at least twice that! When the transmission failed in our 2014 Town and Country two weeks outside of its warranty, Ron truly went above and beyond for our family. In addition to providing great service, he was incredibly gracious with his time in discussing possible options and answering my questions. Because of our amazing experience at Trans Tech, we can now drive our van with confidence. It is clear that Ron values and takes great care of his customers, and we cannot thank him enough!

I am a woman in my mid-20s, and I have done work on my own car from changing the oil regularly, to replacing an alternator in a few hours. Safe to say I dont trust many mechanics to treat a person, let alone a young women, as something other than a price. With that being said, Ron and the people over at Trans Tech are exceptional and experienced auto professionals.They care about you and will insistently get to know your needs and give you their advice without any motives or expectations of getting more bucks out of you, or performing any unnecessary service on your vehicle.If you need a trans flush or fluid and filter change, go to Trans Tech and they will run tests to determine if either service is appropriate for your car.If you are buying a used car and need to get it inspected, I highly recommend Trans Tech for this service as well. The guys have eyes for detail. They spotted dry rot on the tires of an otherwise exceptionally clean vehicle.I received both of those services and the cost is the same as the typical going rate at any shop with the added bonus of their high quality service.Will be going back for those repairs I cant do myself. Highly recommend.

The folks at Trans tech recently rebuilt the transmission in my GMC truck. They rebuilt it with heavy duty parts so I could tow a big trailer. They did a great job. I am recommending Trans tech to all my friends

I would recommend Trans Tech to anyone. I was sent to them by a friend because of their ability to do quality transmission builds on heavy duty diesel trucks. I took my Dodge R2500 4x4 to them after I did many performance upgrades to my Cummins diesel, causing my transmission to fail prematurely. They built a stage 5 transmission and also installed a billet torque converter. Now my truck performs flawlessly. These guys are awesome.

I forgot rule number one of car repair: insist on getting EVERYTHING in writing, before you authorize work to be started. Ron and I disagreed on what was verbally discussed, and it cost me $1,000 to get my vehicle back IN PIECES. The cost was based on half of the anticipated (not actual) labor costs, plus $98 for a diagnostics fee that did not produce a written diagnostics report, and ~$40 just to round up the bill to an even number.

Ron has always taken great care of our familys cars. I would recommend Trans tech to anyone.

Afterward, they have shown me the fix so I can see the quality work they have provided. I have trusted them with fixing my teenager’s car (after several accidents) and making it safe, as well as checking out two used car purchases to ensure they are a worthwhile investment and safe to drive. I have known Ron for many years, he fixed a trany for me years ago so I take my sons F150 to him for transmission work that he said he would fix. I could tell Ron was stressed that day but when my son asked him a couple questions about his pride and joy truck Ron just blew up, handed the keys to my son, slammed his hood and told us to get out of his shop. I didnt know what to think and tried talking to Ron but all he wanted to do was not to deal with questions from a paying customer. Sorry Ron but if Im paying you to work on my vehicle and have some questions, then guess what? Im going to ask them and would expect professional, intelligent answers. Because of your super unprofessional attitude I will never be back nor would I refer anyone to him. He can take his over priced shop and his lousy attitude and shove it where the sun dont shine......jerk.

Trans Tech has been rebuilding my familys transmissions for years. For me there is no better shop to have a ford transmission repaired. I currently have two truck transmission from them, 2004 F-250 snow plow truck with over 180,000 miles on the rebuild with no issues and my most recent rebuild was in my 1995 F-350 dually which is a heavy hauler. The dually currently has 60,000 miles on the rebuild with no hick-ups. The guys at trans tech are awesome people that take the time to answer your questions and explain the problems and allow you to make the decision. When I talk to Ron and Jason they make me feel like family and that goes a long way in my book. Thank you trans tech for keeping my trucks running as well as my familys vehicles.

These guys are great, I broke down on Saturday afternoon and happened to see their shop door open. I walked in to see if they could help me. The young guy (Jason) was very accomadating. He helped me with my car that was over heating, a ruptured hose. He got me back on the road in no time. Im going to be using the guys for my future car repairs.

They are cheaters, they charge my wife 1318$ for wheel bearing and they didn’t showed me any parts that they charge, I’ll never ever come back again!!
