Jill was amazing! I havent liked my haircut ting experience in the past couple of years. I took my chances going here today and I cant be happier. It was a great experience. Jill was nice and funny. She wasnt too scared to do a womens undercut and did it just how I love it. Im so happy to have finally found somewhere for my cut! Very happy!

Veena did my hair and was amazing! I usually drive back home to get my hair done, but it just wasn’t happening anytime soon, and I heard of Veena from a friend so thought I would try her out! I was nervous, but I told her what I liked and wanted and she executed! My hair always gets brassy super quick, but she gave me tips to keep it icy blonde for longer than usual! I definitely recommend going to see her. She was great to talk with and made the time go by quick!

Jill did an awesome job on my hair. Shampoo, cut and dry. She cut my split ends and layered it just like I wanted. Plus she was quick. Thank you

I went in to get a short haircut up to around my collar bone and I specially asked for her to NOT give me a bob. I asked her multiple times to please not make the back shorter bur she did anyways. I thought it looked great until the next day when I was straightening my hair. It’s very choppy and the back is way shorter than the front and also super choppy. The service and staff was very friendly but the hairdresser did not listen to what I asked even after showing a picture and saying three times I did NOT want a bob.

This review is a bit late but on Sep 2nd I received amazing hair service here.I wanted something a bit complex to obtain and Michael aka (Mikey did such a phenomenal job. He did a bayalge with a modern gothic esthetic twist and I loved it!In spite of my previously permed hair, he brought so much style and life to it back and let me tell you Mikey loves hair with a passion, going beyond to take the time (7 plus hours) and effort to get the look I wanted.10/10 would recommend.

I’m fairly new to the area and have been looking for a stylist to cut and color my hair. I found several favorable reviews on Yelp about this salon and the stylist Shay, they were accurate on every level. Shay was professional, she listened to what I wanted and executed my cut and color exactly how I requested. Shay was friendly, professional, funny and personable. The price for cut, color, shampoo and conditioner, was comparable to others in the area. I highly recommend this salon and this stylist.

Went in for a cut and color. Mikey was fantastic! I have bounced between a lot of salons and rarely leave completely happy with my hair, but I was thrilled with the results! Will definitely be returning to Mikey for future cuts.

Denise Ice has been my stylist for 12 years. I would not go to anyone else but her. She has always done an amazing job highlighting and cutting my hair. She gave me a cute little spiked hair cut and ever where I go, I get compliments on my hair. I carry her business cards in my purse and I pass them out to people who comment on my hair. I would always give her a 5 star review.

I had an appointment with Shay for relaxer retouch and it was great. She listens to you and how you like your hair done and she is very gentle. I have a very sensitive scalp and so I am very picky about having anyone touch my hair and she was perfect. I will recommend this place and her to anyone.PS: You want to confirm service price before sitting down because it seems like what the receptionist tells you is a bit different than what the stylist might charge. Not a big difference, just something to keep in mind.

Both my teen daughter and I get our hair done by Denise. She does an amazing job highlighting our hair! She’s always able to get us in for an appt. that works best with our schedules and makes every visit a fun experience.

Ive always had bad experiences at the hair salons.. However, this place changed all that. Denise ice, did exactly what I asked for... And did a terrific job. She has cut and colored my hair multiple times now and I couldnt be happier. I would highly recommend her!

I have been only going to Shay for about 3 months now and shes totally amazing! Its hard to find a professional,friendly, courteous stylist whos able to access and treat all hair types. Shes been helping me with a treatment plan for my dry scalp and maintaining my locks. The only reason I didnt give 5 stars is b/c the salon does advertise natural hair care/dreadlocks maintenance Shay isnt given all the tools needed and at times shes having to purchase the products for her clients hair care needs. Also, there has been a few times that the bookings werent done properly and I had to wait and hour. Besides that Shay is totally amazing and a wonderful stylist at the Gainesville,FL JCPenney salon.

I am so happy that I randomly decided to get my hair done at the jcpenny salon a couple years ago. Veena has been doing my hair for over 2 years now and I leave happy and excited EVERY SINGLE TIME. She’s a sweet lady and takes her time. She even explains what and why she’s doing what she’s doing. She keeps notes on what color or style she did to your hair last that way she instantly knows how to do your hair when you come in. I can’t recommences her enough!

Absolutely disappointed and will not be returning! I was quoted $32 for a teens haircut and blow dry but was charged $45. I asked for my hair to be trimmed and layered around the face. The stylist asked again what I wanted but only trimmed my ends for $32.

I love JCP salon!! I have went there for years! The salon specializes in healthy hair. The products are great. You are quick to get out with a great atmosphere. I regret my past stylist, Lily....moved back to Jamaica. Keep up the great work JCP!!!

I wanted to give my opinion since I have had so much trouble finding a good stylist since I moved to Gainesville. But yesterday I went to JC penny salon and Tina Pareja did my hair. She is awesome at her job. Very professional and best at what she does. Basically I have thin hairs and its a challenge to style them right. She listened to me very patiently and provided her insight and I was surprised looking at the result. I highly recommend her if you happen to go to Jc penny salon in Gainesville

Went for haircut, the cut wasnt to bad just one side is longer than the other. The manager instead of fixed she give me the money back and told me to go to another place to do my haircut whe I was already book with one of her designers.Im new in Gainesville and I found this place on internet. I really appreciate your recommendations!

I dont understand how a well known salon that is regularly mentioned on tlc cant color hair. You can even pay extra to have a pro which I did. This is twice now Ive gone in there and told that what I would like done is not achievable and then I go home and manage to do it at home on my own. First I was told they didnt have the color. Then I was told Iness a temporary color and would wash out in 2 washes. Then I was told that with my hair the color would be difficult to achieve and they were not comfortable with it. They proceeded to give me to a different stylist who was in her words hesitant to try. They made me feel uncomfortable and I decided that I was just going to get it cut. The original stylist said the second one could keep me because I was flippy. No... you just made me feel uncomfortable. I finally got my hair cut and the back was shorter than I wanted. The front was nice. But the stylist barely even spoke to me the entire time I was there. She asked what I wanted and that was it. She spoke to the other stylist and I was bored and included myself in the conversation once or twice, she blow dried my hair and it didnt really look like the picture, and the back was too short. I left the salon in tears. Ill never go back.

I had appointment with Mike at 4:15, rushed there and receptionist called me while I was entering the door at 4:12that he will not be able to provide the service as he will not have enough time .No one else could accommodate me .No wonder they are going downhill.

Everytime i make an appointment for a mens haircut something ends up happening. I called Tuesday to set up an appointment with Jill for my guys haircut. The receptionist said Tuesday was booked and she could get me in Wednesday at 5:30. Low and behold we get there and Jill isnt even working. They couldnt find appointment in the system. But somehow he was scheduled for a Friday???? I never agreed to a Friday nor was i called to be informed that it had been moved. Waste of time and Jill just lost a client thanks to her incompetent staff.

The stylists are rood and nasty and dont know how to color hair, they make you feel uncomfortable and when the stylist was drying my hair she deliberately kept burning my forehead with the drying saying Im sorry is that too hot!!

Manager (Stephanie is her name) is shady, evasive and dishonest.

I went in with a reference picture, request that they would match the color in the picture and blend my roots accordingly. The hairstylist said that she could do it with confidence. When the hairstylist started I explained what I wanted again. She reassured me she knew what she was doing. Having experiences with having my hair colored in the pass I noticed she wasn’t using the right color or placement of the color. Numerous times I stopped her and asked if she was using my reference picture. I told another hairstylist this isn’t what I asked for and she assured me that it will come out how I requested it. Upon completion it resembled nothing that I asked for, It wasn’t layered, the correct color, or the right length. I payed $100 for nothing to change. The first picture was my reference the second picture is what I received.
