When our refrigerator went out, we had a difficult time initially finding someone to come out in a timely manner to diagnose the problem. When I contacted Home Appliance Parts and Repair, they were able to send someone the next morning. Joe was timely, professional, knowledgeable and helpful. He even informed us that the part our fridge needed would be covered by the manufacturer because of a quality control issue. This meant that Home Appliance would not be able to do the repair for us. I am highly impressed with their integrity and customer care, and I plan to contact them with future repair needs.
Home appliance Fort Wayne is the last place I would recommend to anyone. When they finally came out to our house to work on our oven they were unprofessional, rude and unresponsive. We had them work on our oven that was not working. I called them and told them the oven was under warranty they said they would come out and diagnose the problem and get it fixed. Once the mechanic came out to our house he told us they needed to order a part to fix the oven. My wife told him that GE would send us the part and we would call them when it came in. The mechanic became irate with my wife telling her they would never have came to work on our oven if they knew they weren’t going to order the parts. He had her call me at work to tell me that we wasted their time. Once I talked to him to let him know I talked to his office and they assured me they would do the work he got annoyed and called his boss. His boss told him to go ahead and give us the part number and that they would install the part. Once the part came in, I called home appliance to set up a date to finish the job. They scheduled a date to come out to install the part. By the end of the day they were scheduled to come out I called them to see if they were still coming to finish the job. The guy in the office told me, “Oh we aren’t going to come out today. We will only come out to your house when it is convenient to us, since we are not making any money on ordering the parts on your oven, we are only going to come out when it’s convenient to us.” Mind you, we are only 20 minutes away from their office. I asked the office, “When can you put us in your schedule to come out? My wife and I both work, so we need to make arrangements to make sure one of us can be home for when you guys come out to repair our oven.” The guy in the office said, “we refuse to put you in the schedule because we couldn’t up charge the part and make as much money as we can”. So I had to call a different company. I called a 3rd party GE appliances repair service and they came out the next day to install the part.I can’t believe Home Appliance Fort Wayne is still in business if they treat their customers this way. I don’t see them being around for long if this is how they want to treat their customers. It is clear they are only concerned with making as much money as they can at the customers expense.
I’ve been using this company since 1999, when I came back to Fort Wayne indiana. They’re professional, friendly, knowledgeable and informative. If I have questions about my appliances, they don’t hesitate to help me troubleshoot and find best course of action, whether I’m doing it myself or need to bring in to them. Highly recommend.

Had the most excellent experience this morning with the parts department. My old dishwasher was leaking from the dispenser area and I decided to try to fix it myself due to the age of dishwasher. Went to another appliance parts store first but they were no help at all.My friend recommended Home Appliance Parts and Repair and I am so glad she did. The three gentlemen that assisted provided first class customer service. Tyler and Brendon really went out of their way. They had the part in stock and Tyler even offered install it right there and then. I had my dishwasher door with me and between the both of them they installed the part I just purchased. They really went above and beyond!!! The part turned out to be really involved to install and what I thought I might be able to do myself at home would have been way too difficult. Worst place ever, they came and diagnose my washer, came in two days later to “fix it” did not happen, and paid more than $300. Called them back same day and said someone was coming next day, no body came. Called back not they are coming 3 days later. WORST PLACE EVER.

I have had a lot of work done in and around my home, never has anyone expected payment before leaving my home, they have always billed and we have always promptly paid our invoices. This exact issue was something we had found upon moving into our home, it was not reported broken before moving in, when we arrived day one and tried to use the stove, one burner would not light. We wanted to get this taken care of through the right channels, as this was no fault of ours and we expected to move into a home with all appliances working as stated in the contract. Well he presents a $307 bill to which I say, okay, if like the invoice so we can try to get this in the correct hands for payment before we pay on our own. He told me that if he did not receive payment for service that he would have to take the stove apart and take the parts back. This is absolutely unacceptable to me. I understand receiving payment promptly but to tell me “now or we can it back” it just not the appropriate way to run a business, small or large. Period. We had never ever worked with this company before and had no bad history with them. So beware, if you plan to use them they will expect payment before leaving your home. Also, had we known this up front we would have been prepared with our next steps (but we were only trying to follow the directions our realtor told us to). We were not informed that they would expect payment on the spot. They had ZERO ways to compromise or be flexible in this situation. Very very poor management/professionalism in my opinion. That being said, they were very speedy in both getting the part in and replacing it - the work was efficient and seems good quality, but how you treat your customers trumps that when it comes to where I spend my money and it will not be with this company in the future.

My moms heating element went out in her dryer, I called in to see if they could come replace it but they refused to do it unless we let them do a diagnostics on it which is $88… Now why would we want that when we know it’s the heating element already? These places are such rip offs man, it’s sad. If I could leave a 4th of a star I would, they don’t even deserve the whole one I gave them.

These guys are the best! I called at 4 p.m. on a Friday because my oven would not work, and a repairman was in my kitchen at 8 am Sat morning! Unfortunately for me, the repair necessitated sending a part off to be rebuilt, but the day it came back to their shop, they called, again around 4, and the repairman stopped on his way home to install it and get me back in business! I cant say enough about how accommodating they were and would definitely recommend them!

Home appliance is a joke. The management company I rent from called home appliance for a refrigerator because mine quit. It took a week for them to find the time to deliver it. When the kid brought it he barely get it in the house. When he wheeled the replacement refrigerator past me I told him that refrigerator stank. As soon as he plugged it in the whole kitchen smelled like something had died and rotted. Even the inside of the refrigerator stank. The smell was horrible. The kid says oh it was probably the old refrigerator (the one he was replacing). I told him theres no way considering the smell didnt start until he brought thenew refrigerator in and the smell got worse after he plugged it in. He said he didnt know. I emailed the management company I rent from about the situation before he left. I even had to send pictures with the email because while this kid was trying to get the old refrigerator out he scratched and dented the front door all up and took chunks out of the door jamb. It took home appliance 2 days to bring a different refrigerator and the same kid and another guy brought it. After they get the replacement off the truck they say oh its too tall because of the cupboard above. Now Im not understanding why this kid that delivered the disgusting refrigerator 2 days before didnt realize this before they brought a refrigerator that was too tall. This is on Thursday and they say were going to have to wait until Monday for them to bring another. Mind you my whole downstairs smells like something died and rotted and we havent been able to use the refrigerator they brought 2 days before because of the smell. I even called home appliance the day after they delivered the disgusting refrigerator and asked to speak to a manager or the owner. I called twice and was told someone would call me back. I still havent received a call and its been 3 days. DONT EVER BUY ANYTHING FROM HOME APPLIANCE UNLESS YOU WANT TO SPEND MONEY ON SOMETHING YOU WONT BE ABLE TO USE!!!!

Just had a guy come out for our ice maker not working. All he did was take out the bin and the cover of the ice maker and said well you need a new ice maker. He never checked anything else. Very disappointed in his work ethics.

I called Home Appliance because I was told they would work with our home warranty company. Turns out the warranty company refused to pay anything. The technician came twice because he didn’t have the parts. And then he just replaced the drain hose. I asked the repairman what was wrong with the old hose. He shrugged his shoulders and said “I don’t know but you need a new one.” That was after nearly 3 hours of tearing the dishwasher apart. Why wouldn’t he start with the least expensive part although he did charge me $45 just for the hose. And $48 just to show up at the house.Total bill was over $176 just for a hose. I don’t find that acceptable. But I had no other choice.

Had an issue with our Fisher/Paykel washer and decided to give Home Appliance an opportunity to fix it. They were able to check it out later, the same day I called and found the problem. They got the part and repaired it the next day. The cost was as quoted. Joe the text was friendly, knowledgeable, and professional. Will use them in the future. They also have a 90 day warranty on parts and labor.

Im normally a DIY kind of guy, but this time I had to bring in Pros, so I called Home Appliance base on a recommendation and online reviews.The service man was on time, clean, and pleasant. He evaluated the possible issues with my appliance after I explained what I had done to troubleshoot the issue (he didnt seem to be too excited about the fact that I had been into the unit). He clearly explained his findings after his inspection, and his recommendation for repair as well as an estimate for the repair. The unit was removed from my house (the repair was performed at their shop). The unit was returned in great shape, and seems to be working fine (making ice again).They call before they show up. The two guys I spoke to on the phone were polite, and provided good customer service. I will be calling these guys again when I need my appliances serviced.ISSUE: I had a refrigerant leak in my compressor supply line, so the evaporator was replaced, and system recharged.

He was rude and short and on the phone almost his entire visit. If my wife would have been the only one home I wonder if she would have been treated the same way? These guys are so awesome. I wasnt sure if the motor in my dryer was bad, or if it was the timer. They offered to bench test my motor for me if I brought it to them at no charge. That eliminated the motor as my problem, and I had already eliminated the other likely suspects (door switch, start button, power, burnt out wires, etc), so I knew it was the timer. I bought a timer from them while I was there (yes, they had both the motor and the timer I needed in stock). Of course, it turned out it was only the timer I needed.Ive used these folks before and theyve always been so helpful. I dont have a fear of working on my own appliances because I know how helpful the Home Appliance parts store is.
I had a technician come today to check my dishwasher, a less than two-year-old Whirlpool. The technician could not identify for sure what the problem was and said it would take some time to diagnose it. He left the dishwasher running again, but said the problem would probably occur again. He suggested calling Whirlpool directly when the DW fails again. He was working for almost two hours and did not charge me anything. I will for sure call them again. Excellent customer service when I called to schedule, excellent punctuality, and excellent personal and technical skills of the technician (Jerry) who was here.

We hired them to fix our refrigerator. Our water/ice dispenser wasnt working. I called this morning (short notice) and they were out to check the fridge by 11:30/12:00. Took about 20 minutes to diagnose the problem, and the repair person gave us an estimate as to what the price would be. They didnt have the part with them, but came back later that afternoon to fix everything. They also asked if we wanted them to replace the filter since that was bad as well, so we went ahead and fixed that too! I will use them in the future!

Thanks to Home Appliance Parts & Repair, I have saved thousands of dollars by not having to buy new appliances. All the parts have been cheaper than ordering online, and 3 out of the 4 parts were in-stock. The 4th was ordered and ready to pick up next day.
We called for service Friday afternoon, and someone was able to come to our home Saturday morning at 8 a.m. Professional, prompt, and educated us on the problem and how to prevent a recurrence once fixed.

TERRIBLE CUSTOMER SERVICE... PLEASE READ... TO THE BOTTOMMy wife, (71 year old mother) and I live in an apartment complex in Fort Wayne, IN. This apartment complex contracts HOME APPLIANCE PARTS & REPAIR to service the washer/dryer we pay for every month. We have never called the maintenance, leasing office nor Home Appliance Parts and Repair in the nearly 2 years we have been renting here with regards to an issue with either appliance. My mother notice yesterday June 11, 2018 that there was fire that shot out from underneath the dryer when she turned it on. She informed my wife about what had happened & in turned my wife called the leasing office to inform them. They said that they would put a work order in to maintenance. About 15-20 minutes later they arrived. My mother explained to them directly of what she saw. The maintenance employee said that he would contact HAPR to have them come out and find out whats going on. They said that they would be out today June 12, 2018 between 9 am & 10 am. As it approached 10 am. I called HAPR to ask them when are they planning to come because shooting fire is a serious issue and we are concern that something could catch on fire. The guy that answered the phone seemed unmoved & uncaring about our concerns. He said the person that is going to come out is on another call & that he would be at our apartment later on in the morning. I expressed to him that was not good enough. This isnt like a dryer door that wouldnt shut. This is a safety hazard & it needed to be addressed immediately. He said we were told that it was a little spark by the maintenance man at the apartment complex. I said it doesnt matter I telling you now it was a fire. I continued to plead for him to have someone come out ASAP. I finally asked if I could speak to someone else. He rudely said, YEAH and put me on hold. I asked the next person that answered the phone if he was the manager or the owner? He said no. Come to find out later (he is the owner) His name is GORDON. He too seemed unmoved and uncaring about what I was saying. Finally I asked Can you contact the service technician and reroute him to our apartment as a matter of priority because Im pretty sure fire of any magnitude takes precedents over anything else. I said I could call the fire department but then that would escalate the problem even more. He said he would get a hold of the tech. I said I would like you to call me right back. He nonchalantly says, well get back to you sometime today. I said no I need you to get back with me as soon as you speak with the tech. He reluctantly agreed. After a while I decided to go to the office and speak to the manager. I explained to her everything that had transpired and she assured me that she would contact the company and have them escalate the ticket. A short time later I called again to HAPR and tried to explain to yet another person (KEITH) that answered the phone how rude and uncaring the first men that answered the phone were. At first he seemed apologetic and then he said, I dont believe you thats not how we are. I said are you calling me a liar? He said, I guess I am. He said, You must have misunderstood what they were saying (as if I was illiterate and could not comprehend what was being said). I said I am a pretty intelligent guy. I think I understood just fine. I felt the need to tell him I am college educated. He actually hung up on me while I was still talking. I went back to the leasing office and explained to the manager yet again. She said she would contact the owner directly (You remember GORDON the one that denied being the owner). Well he called me back about 45 minutes later and told me that a technician was on his way to me. I explained to him about how rude KEITH was to me. He just seemed to brush me off again. A short time after that I received a phone call from that tech (KEN) telling me he was on his way. He ultimately fixed the problem (and yes agreed that fire shot out from the dryer). Overall I would NEVER recommend this company. For they are UNPROFESSIONAL.
