I had a very dead car battery and no way to deal with it and my roadside assistance was not responding. I called Playground one hour before closing, they gave me a quote for a tow and and new battery and then sent out a tow truck immediately to get me. They had me on the road in the time it took to replace the battery. Very fair price and great service. If I ever have car problems when Im here I will be calling them. Great people!

My family has been coming here since we moved to ft Walton and they havent failed us once. one time my moms car broke down next to a different auto shop just down the street (which is no longer open) who tried to convince us that a gasket was covered in rust, but it was clearly oil. they already had our car taken apart so we smiled, nodded, and paid for a quick fix. we went to playground auto the next day and they fixed the problem at regular price, and then the shoddy work the other place had done for free. they also have a very cute bird in the lobby.

We woke up to a dead battery on the day we were to return to Asheville, NC from Miramar Beach, FL this past Friday. We were able to have the car started and drove to an auto parts store who had a battery, but could not install it due to the configuration of our cars engine compartment. We drove to the nearest Ford dealer in Fort Walton Beach thinking they would be able to assist, but who told us it was not likely that they could get to it that day, meaning an unplanned weekend extension of our trip.The service manager recommended Playground just around the corner where we found folks who listened to our tale of woe, took pity on us and worked us into their already overloaded schedule. We were on our way within an hour.We were so lucky to find Playground where we received professional service at a reasonable price. Wish we could bring them home with us!!

Worst experience! They just don’t care!! I came in and gave them my keys to have my vehicle towed. I came in on Monday to get this in the works. I never heard from Playground Auto and called on Thursday. I got the we have employees call out and we will get it tomorrow. I followed up on the following Monday because I still hadn’t received a call letting me know hey towed it. Well they didn’t and the girl that answered the phone was thrilled when I told her to cancel the request and I’d be by to pick up my keys. I’m NEVER taking any of my vehicles back there. You shouldn’t either!!! Going to Holmes Auto, it’s where I should have gone in the first place.

Got my car fixed fast and it runs great. They even gave me a follow-up phone call a few days after I picked up my vehicle to ask how it was operating. Great Service!

Playground auto was great! Very affordable compared to other quotes. I was on vacation and need my Lexus fixed on short notice as me and my family had to drive home later that week. They got me in immediately, had the part I needed overnight, repaired and found another serious fix needed. Got that fixed up next day. Car runs perfect. My family was at Okaloosa the week of 7-12 from Illinois; my granddaughter drove her car and I drove mine. Her car broke down as soon as she arrived, we took it to Playground Auto Service (recommended to us by employee of our condo) they fixed it. It had another issue 2 days later so we took it back. The same day her car was finished, the air conditioning quit working in my car. As we picked her car up, they put mine in the shop & had the air conditioner running cold again in less than 2 hours! The story doesnt stop there, on our way back to Illinois, my granddaughters car broke down (busted radiator hose)yet again, Playground Auto came to her rescue! They picked up her car, did the needed repairs and she was on her way again.I cant say ENOUGH, how wonderful the employees, from front desk girls to mechanics, were to me and my family. We will never forget how they helped us in our scary time of break downs in heavy traffic and away from home. We are very grateful for their help and kindness.

Extremely professional company and competitive pricing. My check engine light came on while on vacation. My Jeep GC had a cylinder misfire. George was extremely helpful in quoting a price and sharing the turnaround time of this type of repair. The repair was completed within an hour at a price less than what was quoted. Out of towner here – This is the place to go. My truck had been running rough for years, and I couldnt ever get a good answer back home as to what I should do to fix it. The things I tried made it a little better, but it was never 100%. As expected when youre traveling, when I arrived in Florida it just got worse to the point of being undriveable. I talked to Rich and let him know I was only in town for a few days, hoping they could get it done before I left. He told me to bring it in the next morning for a diagnosis.I dropped it off when they opened at 8. By 11, he had called me back with a few recommendations. The prices he quoted were less than I had expected. By 4 PM, the work was done and ready for pickup.They nailed it! The truck runs smooth, in fact its running better than it ever has since I bought it. The check engine light is off (for 3 weeks and counting), also for the first time in years.I think Im going to start bringing it in here for a checkup whenever I visit. I wish this business was closer to home!

I took my car in due to an alarm that was malfunctioning. Their idea of disabling the alarm was to rip out all of the wiring which also dismantled my aftermarket auto start and alarm system along with the cars factory alarm AND all of the locks must be manually locked and unlocked because they dont work automatically. I have yet to get a quote for how much it is going to cost to get all of their fabulous handy work repaired correctly.

One of our crews was working at the local hospital and the truck they were in broke down. It was a Saturday around 10am and the shop closes at 2pm. They had our truck towed in and fixed before they left for the day. If they had been able to do this our guys would have been left stranded, out of town for the rest of the weekend. Thank you all!

They are my go to for auto mechanics. I have been going here since the 1980s & never felt the price was unfair. A couple times the issue was solved quickly & they didnt even charge me. I live in Crestview now but continue to go to PAS & will until/if they ever close, God forbid.God bless the entire PAS team, keep up the great work.

So I had never been to this auto shop before a couple weeks ago, my car was making an awful noise while driving and I had no idea what was going on. My boyfriend and his family very highly recommended this shop, they’re neighbors with the owner and they’ve been coming here for years and from the first conversation I had with the girl at the front desk I can see why. Everyone there is so kind and professional, they got me in and diagnosed what was going on with my car immediately. Was given a quote and an exact time estimate because I had to go to work later that day, I am extremely happy with every part of my interaction there.I called my dad when I left and told him if he or anyone he knew ever had a vehicle issue to call them. Thank y’all so much for getting me in and helping me with my car, very thankful for everyone there :)

I have a Challenger Hellcat and I am always leery of taking just anywhere for an oil change because the oil cooler must be drained also! They knew about that and did an awesome job at a very reasonable price and a timely manner, it’s just hard to find that in a auto shop anymore much less the dealer! I had no appointment, just drove in and they took care of me quickly! I will definitely use them next time!!!

Ive been here twice now and their customer service is unbeatable.. they may have outdone Chick-fil-A. Although they dont do appts I havent had to wait more than 30-45 minutes for them to diagnose the issue...plus the time for labor. Their prices are reasonable and their staff is knowledgeable, friendly, and professional. I usually go to firestone for maintenance and repairs but after a few persistent problems I decided to try somewhere else. I have not been disappointed.

My husband and I were preparing to head home from vacation in Fort Walton, FL and realized my thermostat went out. We called Playground Auto and they said they’d get me in. They repaired my car in a timely manner, Denise gave us food recommendations during our wait, and sent us home with cool A/C. They were great and made us feel taken care of.

Fast and reliable. I had an issue on a Sunday one time and they were closed so I had to go to Pep Boys... Pep boys just did what I told them I thought the problem was. It was not the issue. I was at Playground the next day, they figured it out and had me back on the road later that day. Learned my lesson to stick to the professional and reliable quality service at Playground Auto.

While we only had a minor issue, it quickly fixed and we were on our way in 20 minutes without any upsells or hidden charges. Had a recurrence of a/c blowing warm air, went to corporate repair center and they tried to charge me $1500 for parts they changed 2.5 years ago. Playground Auto troubleshot it and repaired for less than $150. I was out of town and had preauthorized $1500 for repairs. They fixed it right and didnt take advantage. Great honest mechanics

Good mechanical service and worked with me getting home plus to another company for a different service. I would highly recommend. Well that was after being a long time customer but then it happens...I need a tow. I call who I think is my faithful mechanic shop and they tell me Im 3 miles out of their range of towing...sorry! Ha! Im going to pay for this tow like I always do in the 14 years Ive been with them even though I have towing on my ins. Its just faster to call your shop right?! WELL THATS WHY THEY ARE NO LONGER MY MECHANIC. ALL THE YEARS AND ALL THE MONEY SPENT THERE AND IT COMES DOWN TO 3 MILES! IM glad this happened because SELLERS AUTOMOTIVE is now MY MECHANIC. I NOW REALIZE HOW RIPPED OFF I WAS GETTING BY PLAYGROUND in all those years as well. I have not once had to return my car back to the shop after a repair. When I was with PLAYGROUND they had my car more than me! Im grateful they screwed me once last time and sent me to a better place!

October 2019 - Van taken in for me cracking the oil pump casing by accidentally over-torquing a new oil sending unit in.They had to remove timing cover (very labor intense) and recommended while we in there steps to change water pump, timing belt, and timing tensioner. All made sense. Did nice job!March 23 2020 - taken in for timing code, erratic engine performance, and misfires. I suspected something under timing cover caused it to jump timing. I was correct, the one part they didnt replace in October the timing idler puller bearings shelled out (I might not have replaced this either then due to lack of failure rates, was a decent call). They went back in, changed timing belt AGAIN, tensioner AGAIN, and broken idler pulley, and re-timed it. They waived a huge amount of the labor (big expense), the tow, and only charged me for new pulley! So far, it drives like a dream! I mostly do my own work to my cars, but was in a pinch this time. I can definitely say ALL steps taken/not taken made absolute sense from my knowledge of cars. This shop REALLY backs their own work! Thank you for great service and integrity! I would recommend them to anyone! Mechanic Mike worked my case both times! Spot on guys and gals!

Excellent service. I took my wife’s car to them while on vacation. One of the pads was metal to metal. I took them pad for the front. They put them on and the owner said unfortunately after he drove it to test the brakes it turned out to be the rear pads. The owner said he felt bad about it turning out that way and offered to replace the rear pads and rotor for free. Excellent service!!! Owner is very honest and respectful. Would recommend to anyone for good honest service. ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

Very nice people, got my car running again. I had coolant and fuel leaks and a couple hose issues and they fixed it real fast. My car had problems and would stop running after 2-3 minutes. Glad I brought it here, theyre proffesionals and know what they’re doing and they don’t charge anything else besides the parts they use and the work they did. Even cut my towing 50% off. Would bring my car here again for any work I need. 100% recommending to anyone.

Very courteous, honest, and customer driven Vehicle Service buisness. I have been taking my vehicles to Playground for years since I was referred by a co-worker. They have always been straight forward with me, do exactly what they say and no extra drama. I will not take my vehicles anywhere else locally to be serviced except for here. Another nice touch is that they usually call after you have service performed to ensure everything is still working good and you are satisfied. Do not hesitate to have your vehicle brought in or towed here. Good cup of coffee as well while you wait on quality service.

Playground Auto offers First Class Service. They display five-star Proffesionalism and Service delivery at all by times and their Customer Service and after Sales Service is second to none..... Kendall is a Super Star. She is a real people person and the best fit for the position. She makes you forget you are at an Auto Service( No pun intended). Will always consider Playground Auto as my first option. My Ford Expedition gave out one day and I needed a Tow, Playground Auto was impressive from start to finish. (That was my first encounter with them). Kendall called a few days after service to check-up. Whoever does that?! What AUTO SERVICE DOES THAT?!?!?....That made me a customer for life. Next I had issues with my JX35 Infiniti and I had to leave it. Never had to worry for a minute. Service, communication, information and the decision making process... .. seamless...... The most unprofessional incompetent mechanics i have ever encountered.9 times out of 10, your estimate will be doubled when they start trying to repair it. If you question the estimate they will tell you If don`t like it then we will put your car back the way it was when you came in and you can take it home. Which is what i should have done. To late... I let them try to repair it (against my better judgement) and now my car is in worse shape then before . Crackerjack box mechanics. You have been warned......

I have been to Playground Auto Service on three occasions. The first one for a repair estimate which I used to support a claim to rebut an overcharge from a dealership; the second for an estimate to repair my car which was less in labor and total cost from others received. Then yesterday, Saturday at 1:30 PM, I went to them unannounced with a Blower motor problem and they were able to take my car in for evaluation and replacement which saved me time and approximately $100. from the dealership charge - the dealer had to order the part and wouldnt have it until next week. They also road checked my fiancees car for a minimum charge and instead of telling her they could repair it they recommended she return it to the dealership for a recall repair... integrity alert! We were both back on the road by 4PM (less than three hours total time) which is unheard of on a Saturday, with no appointment, at most repair shops. We are totally appreciative and satisfied with their professionalism and courtesy. From one maintenance technician to another... Thank you tremendously Playground Staff and Maintenance crew.

Called at 12:00 on a Saturday, and asked if they could take on a walk-in for an A/C service (they close at 3). They said, sure, sounds great, come on in! The checked me in right away, gave me the pricing, took my keys and got to work. Their waiting area was clean and comfortable (some nice plush couches that looked like they were regularly cleaned) and the room has some character as well.They finished up the job, had to do a few extra miscellaneous things (put some service caps on) but kept the pricing the flat rate the quoted me. They parked my truck right out the door, and got me on my way. AC is blowing nice and cold again, and Im ready for another summer of towing my boat.Thanks guys - will definitely come back if I need to.

Going to playground reminded me Dad was no longer with us, he passed away 5/31/2016. I choked up quite a bit pulling in for service.It was difficult visiting as this has been my Familys auto mechanic shop since I was in elementary school. I live in Atlanta, Georgia but grew up in Fort Walton Beach/Destin. While I was visiting home I took my Dads car in for service, the staff didnt recognize me but they knew my last name and who my Mother and Father were. As usual the service was spectacular, friendly faces and good home town folk! Playground has always been great to every single member of my family! Thank you for twenty plus years of great service.

Playground auto has been a life saver more than once. First time was a few years ago. I flooded my car and no one would tow it due to dangerous weather conditions. Playground came out and helped me right away. Today my car needed a tow. They were fast and friendly to help. Ill ALWAYS use them for any future problems. We got all the way to Florida and the car broke down. Our first tow truck driver was an a$$ so we end of calling playground. They got there when they could and they look at the car right away. Even tho they couldnt fix it til Monday due to not having the part; they did finish in a timely matter.

Traveling from Houston tx to destin Florida our truck broke donw..the guys at playground auto made us feel like home they even gave us a ride back to where we stayed. The tech that inspected our vehicle made it seem like had done that thousands of times..came out with a smile it wasnt a big deal..wow. we drove back to Houston with no problems..and they had the courtesy to call days after just to check if we made it ok home..thats another wow...thank playground auto service may god bless u all..

My brakes were kinda low? I texted AAA and they recommended Playground auto service. We were there about 1 hour and the brakes only needed adjusting. Fair price too

I cant imagine why anyone would consider this great service. Another truck hit ours, we wanted to truck to go to a specific location and were told that was fine. Only to find out the next day, they took it to their business address, and wanted storage fees and wouldnt move it to where we had asked for in the first place. Lying to a customer was only to be able to charge for a service that wasnt wanted or needed. This company is despicable, and then the owner himself was rude, and lied again. It was a nightmare. Beware of this company. It seems they will do anything for a buck.

Very dishonest company! This company came to tow my vehicle and scratched a chunk of paint off the front bumper on the parking lot curb when lifting it up. When we told our insurance about it, this company lied and said they didn’t do it. I would definitely go with a company with more integrity

Had an emergency and was denied help because they assumed they were getting involved with domestic stuff.I just wanted my car towed back home because it broke down and my daughter lost the key.I have the registration and proof of ownership.Its to bad an honest person is judged because of other idiots.Now Im stuck and Ive called all the other tow places and there is no answer!Thanks for nothing!
