Botched AirLift installation. I finally got tired of only being able to inflate/deflate the air bags when plugged in to a trailer so I took a look to see what was up. First, they did not install a manual valve anywhere on the truck so Im 100% reliant on the proper function of the AirLift system, which is just lazy. I went on to find that they tied the power in to the nearby smart module of the towing system so that there was only power to the air compressor when a trailer was plugged in, also lazy. The worst part is what you see in the picture, they skinned the trucks power wires and straight up wrapped the AirLift wires around the skinned area, put some electrical tape on it and called it good. You can see in the picture that I took the tape off of the positive wire and the tape is still on the negative wire. What you cant see is that the negative wire is all sorts of corroded from their hack job. I rewired the system properly and now it works perfect.

I have nothing but praise for this company. Integrity would be the adjective that I would use if I only had one to choose from. I initially worked with Barry in the installation of a 20 amp service in my custom van. I was having some issues with my Espar heater. Id already had two other companies fix it. Chris, the Operations Manager, really went out of his way to take care of me and its running perfectly now. Hes the bomb! All of the staff is wonderful to work with and I would have them fix, or add to, anything on van and have absolute confidence that it will be done right.

Good craftsmanship, good products, fine people. I wanted a van and had specific requirements to meet my needs. I also had a budget that had to be met. In the end I have a van that meets all of my expectations and more. The people at Van Works wanted to make sure I was happy and helped with a lot of questions and concerns. I could not have been more pleased.

Good pre-install email communications. Installed running boards, shore power and an awning. All seems to be high quality. Appreciated the words of experience in the best placement for the shore power. Ran the power cord under the van to where it was needed.. pleasant surprise that they did that. They had my van for a day and a half, so it was great that they kept my Dometic running. Fiamma F80 awning is awesome!

Went back to van works to have them look at an overhead accessory that hey had pit in that was coming off. The guy at the front desk who took a look at it was very short in his answers and did not offer much help at all. He just said it would be so much to set up an appointment to get it looked at. He is a good scheduler I guess but doesnt know much about the work they do there.I went to Ozzies and they had the decency to professional and social skills to look at with me and offer a solution (at no charge), that with a few tools and some simple washers, I was able to fix. My partner and I stopped by after hearing great things about Vanworks from a friend. We are buying a used 2013 Sprinter from a private vendor. We spoke to a couple of the technicians that were insightful and showed us some of their craftsmanship; everything from a custom build to their Base Camp model. Chris spent some extra time with us going over the Base Camp model. One thing is for sure and that is they have perfected the art of building the Sprinter 144wb van conversion and they are extremely busy because of this fact. I was very impressed with generosity and the friendliness of the staff. I wouldnt be surprised if we end up doing business with Van Works/Chris in the future.

We purchased a Promaster Base Camp model in January from Vanworks. We had looked at them a year ago at their facility in Ft Collins with Barry. He gave us a tour and showed us a couple completed vans. We talked to Dale in December and they had one on their lot that was close to what we had in mind. They made a few upgrades at my request, so the final van was exactly what we wanted. Barry and Dale were great to work with! Very knowledgeable about the build and Dale answered all our questions quickly and with a lot of detail. The paperwork was done remotely and it all went smoothly. Dale even arranged to have the van shipped to us so we did not have to travel to pick it up during Covid.

I would never hesitate to recommend VanWorks to anyone. We lost our previous van to an accident and Dale offered to get us back up and running in any way he could help. Even putting back into a new van our previous build if we could salvage it. We bought a new Base Camp and started from scratch. But it doesnt stop there. We had a bit of bad luck and had to turn around after picking it up. VanWorks set us up and loaned us a car while they did what they could to get us going again. Have had a few cars worked on at Vanworks and they have always done a great job and treated me well. Just had a hitch put on a vehicle and the work was fine but what really stands out is how things progressed at pick up. When retrieving my vehicle, it was brought to my attention that the tech working on my job accidently put a small dent in the door with a step stool. It was a small dent and they of course said they would get it fixed. Being a business owner myself, I understand that accidents do happen. Many kudos go out to the tech that could have not said anything at all as I probably would have not seen it until some point later and not known where it came from. The honesty and integrity on this whole episode was awesome and again as a business owner, thanks for handling the situation the way you guys did.

Got my sprinter roof fan and swivel seats installed here and the employees here went above my expectations. The installation was like clockwork, and there was always someone available if I had any questions. Definitely will go back in the future, I worked with Barry and he would put his work on hold immediately to help me when I had questions.

Van Works of Fort Collins really has it dialed in when it comes to van customizations. It has been a year since Barry and his crew at Van Works did the vast majority of the work I had needed to be done on our van and I could not be happier. Since then my MaxxAir fans had an issue and because they were under warranty and a manufacturer issue they were replaced promptly. We had a 2016 Mercedes Sprinter converted by Vanworks in February 2016. Barry helped us design the conversion before we ordered the van so that we could be sure that we were buying the right size and features. He helped us design a layout that really met our needs, rather than one that was oriented to a larger market. The work is top-notch and was done ahead of the date that we had scheduled for the conversion. We brought in our bikes and they fixed the fork mounts to the rear slider to perfectly accommodate our bikes! The van is incredibly well insulated. Weve had it in 105F and -30F temperatures and its been really comfortable. The bed was custom made and is incredibly comfortable. Its really hard to believe that we took them an empty shell of a van. At this point, it seems like it came from the factory this way. Having a conversion van had been a dream of ours for quite a while. Working with Vanworks not only made it possible. They made it better than wed originally envisioned. Barry has also be remarkably helpful with questions and replacement parts as things have come up since the conversion. Great service and quality construction! We couldnt be happier.

I have been dreaming about my sprinter van for years. My husband and I saved up for the van and did our own little conversion until we could afford to get it done professionally. Unfortunately most places that we researched where really expensive. We ran into someone who had Barry and Van Works do their work. It was so awesome. So we got his number and made a trip down to Fort Collins. Barry showed us around the shop and gave us a number that was so much lower than most places. So we made our appointment. When I picked up the van i was shocked on how well it was made. It looked exactly how we wanted it. Barry and his team exceeded our expectations. We picked up our 2019 4x4 Sprinter several weeks ago and immediatly put 1600 miles on it and could not be happier. My wife and I had a blast traveling, sleeping, and eating in our new amazing Sprinter. We took it BC Skiing in the San Juans, then onto Sedona for several days of Mountain Biking. The garage worked perfectly and we were able to comfortably store all our gear for a multi sport trip.Barry and his team where awesome to work with and followed through on every detail. I have to say I would use them again and highly recommend them, as the team was flawless.Cant wait for our next adventure!

I decided, recently, to live in a camper van. I am retired, single with few responsibilities. It all sounded great! No mortgage, no rent, no HOA dues, cable bills, trash collection, home insurance, home maintenance etc. AND I can go wherever I want. Complete freedom.Well, I didn’t know what I didn’t know. I originally decided to have my van converted by a different company. But somehow (through serendipity) I got connected with VanWorks in Fort Collins, Colorado. I could not be more thrilled or feel more fortunate. My 2 contacts at VanWorks we’re Barry Bliss and Bill Wheeler. Barry is the main man at VanWorks. He is the one that made me come to realize all that I didn’t know. He has been converting vans since his childhood and was A TERRIFIC resource. He knew stuff in detail that I never thought about. Anything I asked he had answers. “What about doing this?” He would give me answers, options and costs. I never felt pressured, or unsure, or taken advantage of. It was more like Barry was having a blast building out my van. This is clearly his passion. We built things into my van that I had never considered. My other contact was Bill Wheeler. Bill is the coordinator of the “Epic” van installations at VanWorks. He provided me with possibly the best customer service I have ever received anywhere. For real. Bill and Barry were awesome.My van turned out great! I have been living in it since August 1, 2019. Not a single problem or issue with anything with the van. No problems whatsoever stealth camping (although I am still learning stuff).* I love my floor! It’s beautiful. Every time I step into the van it feels good.* I love the wood paneling. It looks great. And installed professionally.* the insulation is good. I have not been cold at all. I feel good about the cooler temps ahead.* the kitchenette is terrific. Lots of storage, functional and well-placed.* the fridge has worked perfectly. (Dometic cooler style)* I had a window put in on the driver’s side. Do that. No question. It’s awesom to be able to see out of both sides.* I had an exhaust fan put in. Completely satisfied with that. An exhaust fan is not optional in my opinion. But the one that VanWorks installed is really great.* I had D rings installed on my ceiling. I have a cargo net hung from the rings that I use for my coat, or towels etc that are being used regularly. I also have a vegetable hammock hung from there for fruits and vegetables.* I had D rings installed under my bed frame. I have 2 large cargo nets (that I knew nothing about... but Barry did) that hold a huge amount of cargo. They are the best thing ever! They are one of my favorite things in the van. I highly recommend these nets!* I also had rails installed on the floor under the bed frame that hav movable D rings on the rails. I use the rails and D rings to tie down cargo. It’s a very flexible system. Awesome. I didn’t know about these either (thanks Barry). The rail system can even be converted into a bike mount. Highly recommended.* I’ve been in the van over a month and I have yet to empty my 6 gallon water container. I’m pretty conservative in water usage but it has worked well. I may consider getting an electric pump.I had solar installed on my roof. My solar powers my fridge, my LED lights and my exhaust fan. So far I have never been under 90% power in my rechargeable battery. And I’m in Bellingham, WA... not the sunniest place on earth...My van is beyond what I expected. I love it. I love the life style. And I could not be happier about the work VanWorks did. I give Barry Bliss and Bill Wheeler my highest endorsement. Barry and team couldnt have been more knowledgeable, responsive and patient during close to a year long journey. This was my first build experience and Barry offered his time and guidance long before Vanworks asked for a deposit. Prior to engaging VanWorks, I spent close to 6 months researching components, and up-fitters and ultimately made my decision on trust and experience. Im glad I did as my up-fit was delivered early and without any of the trial & error stories Ive heard from other outfits. Van Works are Unbelievable, Had atonneau cover Installed on my Pick Up in 2005 when it was New...it started to go bad.. they still honored the warranty after over 12 years and Replaced it Free.Cant Beat an Awesome Business like that..

2017 Mercedes Van Conversion by VanWorks, Barry and Crew exceeded our expectations. After carefully checking western USA van conversion companies we settled on VanWorks in Ft Collins Co mainly because they were willing to work us in between appointments as time allowed and the knowledge Barry shared with us as we discussed options available for our van. The final work was actually better than what we imagined. We ordered some of the conversion items ourselves and VanWorks installed them for us most of the conversion was from selections we make within the various options they had to offer. Every employee we had contact with during our conversion was courteous knowledgeable and accommodating. The shop, busy as it was, was clean and organized and we used our tours of the shop to get ideas for our build. Thank you VanWorks for the excellent service we received and the wonderful camper we are now using on a regular basis. G and D Ludwig
