NC Conceal Carry Course was great. All questions and concerns were addressed and I left more confident. The trainers give you a little extra when on the range with proper hand placement and stance. I look forward in taking some personalized training in the future with these guys.

Great people working here. Highly recommend this place and the team that works here. I met them when I used them to be the FFL transfer and shipping for weapons I sold online. One weapon sale the buyer did not send the funds. FYI I work on a ship and gone for months at a time. The owner and I stayed in contact by email. I asked Steve to sell my matching pair of pistols and I was interested in buying a AR-10. Well a customer of his came in before he displayed them and we traded a AR-10 he had custom built by The Rock Guns. I have spoken with everyone there for our business and this is a place you go to for a long time because they are helpful, honest, knowledgeable and just down to earth people.

I bought my first gun and then went to the rock and got my case ordered. I have to say they where very nice, great customer service, and very helpful. Terrible customer service.... walked in to an employee on his phone and ignoring questions I had. No other employee engaged in a conversation or asked me if I needed help with anything. I do not recommend this place if you are looking to get some work done on your firearm. Employees wouldn’t care to help you anyways.

By far the most personable store Ive ever run into.I ran into a problem and the staff ensured I was corrected 100% of this long process. It wasnt just buying a gun, it was a 65 step process that they helped correct me with.They saved me $250 on this one instance alone, but the price of theyre caring attitude helped me more than the money.They also helped me correct my process to make a better weapon.Ive been to stores in fay, but recommend these guys for anything guns.

Great shop! Nice folks, the smith/machinist Nathan is excellent, especially knowledgeable if you need work on a precision rifle. Had them cut my rem 700 308 to 16 and install a brake for me and i am very pleased; rifle looks great, is more handy, and groups are sub MOA!

I brought in an old A2 upper with the request to cut the barrel down for an SBR build. I was given a lead time of a few weeks (which is normal for any custom work) and I left the upper there for them to work on. They contacted me a short while later and offered me a less expensive and faster option for my project (instead of cutting the barrel, they actually just rebarreled it for me) - I was very appreciative of their offer and it sounded like that was the better option so I let them do it that way. The upper has been fine and everything runs just perfect out of it.They were very professional about the whole thing and I will be doing business with them again on a Browning A5 project. I have nothing but positive things to say about The Rock and it’s employees. I don’t think I’ve ever experienced customer service as excellent as they provided me. They are extremely knowledgeable and definitely willing to go the extra mile to make sure you or your firearms are taken care of.The instructors that teach their classes have years of field experience they are willing to impart on you, and are extremely patient, taking the time to answer any questions you may have.I will definitely be giving them my business for the foreseeable future, as well as referring their services to anyone I know looking for expert gunsmithing or tutelage.

Great experience every time I have gone in. From FFL transfers, to custom lever-action work, cerakote and kydex holsters. They take care of everything and answer every annoying question I have with professionalism and friendliness. Not a lot of in-shop stock, but they can get ahold of most anything (pending current nationwide backorder issues) and work to find you what you are looking for. Kydex is quick and reasonably priced. They are a rare shop that admits when something might not be to customer standard and work to fix it. Small cerakote items I had done over a year ago have held up. Have not had any engraving done yet, but all of their displayed work appears top notch. SilencerCo kiosk also in the shop and they are very helpful throughout the process.

Horrible experience here and will never be coming back, I brought an ar-15 in to be worked on which is now covered in scratches. the guy at the front told me it was only gonna take a week at the longest. 2 weeks later I called asked what was going on they said they had to order a part and was going to take another 2 weeks, 2 weeks go by again, I call again and they say order got canceled but they were going to fix it an alternative way and it would be fixed the day after. Still no call. 4 days later I was fed up an went up there to get my money back and my gun but it was fixed and they never called me. There were scratches all over a brand new $800 ar and the battery to my red dot is dead like they left it on. very unprofessional at this place and they don’t not care about your stuff. they never called me and let me know what was going on, they were super rude when I finally showed up, didn’t even apologize for how long it took, I’m going to make sure I tell everyone how horrible my experience was and not to ever go there.

The customer service at The Rock has been great every time I go in. Very friendly staff and helpful with tips and tricks for a LFAR (Large Format AR) I plan to build.I did have a Cerakote issue with them though, the cerakote chipped off in a few places which they did offer to recoat at no charge. After a month I did finally take it back into them and we will see if it bonds better this time.- much happier with rework on Cerakote. Wold have been nice to have the barrel cleaned out before bringing it home but nothing a bore snake couldn’t handle.

Exceeded all my expectations! I needed milling work done and needed to match a color from another gun. A guy by the name of Nate sent me pictures and got the color perfect. My experiences have been the customer service you receive is normally dictated by the industry you’re walking into. Most gun stores have more of a club style customer service but walking into this place is more like walking into a Toyota dealership, a true breath of fresh air when you need help with something you know very little about.

Dropped off a barrel to get cut, threaded, and re-crowned. Estimated time was 6-8 weeks, and was told it wouldn’t even take 8 weeks to be done. 9 weeks later and haven’t heard anything from them. Turns out they haven’t even touched the barrel because they “lost the paperwork.” The assumed manager then says to one of the gun smiths, “this is why I always yell at you guys over paperwork.” Which means this isn’t the first customer who they’ve waisted 9 weeks of their time and won’t be the last.1/5 would not recommend, find somewhere else!

Asked for custom ejection port cover and a barrel swap.Paid for a new port cover. But they took the one I had on the other rifle. Just little things that bugged me. Good quality work. Didn’t ask around for prices. But they are expensive.

Need a KKM barrel fitted to my P320X5.Dave was super helpful and had it done in less than 24 hours. Great experience will definitely go to again for gunsmithing.

I just want to say, I have not actually done any business with them yet... BUT, i wholeheartedly plan to do so. Im new to the firearms scene and the people inside did an excellent job to get me started on my first real firearm purchase. I plan on doing business with them soon.

I had high hopes for this place as it was recommended by several people. I took my Rifle/scope in for some Cerakote. Nothing crazy at all. The prices I was quoted was fair an online with others in the Fayetteville area. I was told it would be able to get my rifle the following week on Friday/Saturday. I went by the shop on Thursday and asked how it was coming and I was told that they were doing coating as we speak and that my rifle would start that night. When I called in on Saturday around noon. I was told I dont know why your rifle has not been done. My guy that does it is off right now, call back on Monday morning. I explained that I would like to have my rifle to hunt with over Thanksgiving. No excuse was given and I was told to contact them on Monday morning. You can see from other reviews that this is not an isolated issue with this business and their only response is that they have put things in place to keep it from happening which is obviously not working. I as the customer do not mind waiting for service but what WE all expect is that when you as the business tell us something that you follow through with what you say you are going to do. When I went back into work to talk to the men who recommended this place to me I was told Yeah they did that with me as well. So if you are fine with them not following through with what they say as far as timeline then go there if not, look for somewhere else. I myself am dissapointed and most likely wont be utilizing them again or recommending them without highlighting this issue.

Expert Advice & Great Service!

I took a glock slide here to have some custom work done (MOS cut, sight mount, and front serrations cut). I was quoted 1 to 1.5 weeks for the work to be completed but it wasnt done until 4 weeks. Communication was poor, I never received any updates on the delay until week 3. And even after that update, was quoted only one or two additional days until it was finished. It took another week. The only reason I gave a 3 star rating is that the work itself was very well done. Nathan did a great job and Im pleased with the final product. Definitely need to work on realistic quotes (understandably hard, but its better to quote longer than necessary and need less time) and communication with the customer.

I cant say enough about the great service I have received from The Rock.Definitely a 10 for customer service.

My experience here was entirely negative. I brought in an idea and talked to the gunsmith, and he was positive about it, told me they could do it. They told me six to eight weeks, but ended up keeping my gun for four months. Every time they gave me a day when it would be ready, I would come in and theyd give me some reason it wasnt done.The gunsmith working on my gun knew less about AKs than I did, and unfortunately appeared not to entirely understand what was happening inside the mechanism when an issue would arise. He constantly gave me blatantly wrong information, and repeatedly told me issues were fixed when they clearly werent. He also evidently kept no notes or lists on what needed to be done and forgot or simply didnt do steps vital to the function and safety of the gun. As well, those things that he did, he did poorly or only halfway.My project involved barreling and headspacing a milled MB47 receiver. As well, I talked about mating a Canis M4 magazine adapter to the receiver. The gunsmith told they could do it.From muzzle to receiver, they cut the barrel, but failed to crown the muzzle. They did not drill and pin either the front sight base/gas block or rear sight base. They misaligned the rear sight base as well. The forward handguard retainer was mislocated. They left burrs in the chamber such that it will not chamber a round. The magazine adapter will accept only pmags, and no metal magazines. The bolt rides over the round in the magazine without picking them up, which admittedly is a problem with the combination of parts, but its something that should have been noticed and brought to my attention before I noticed it myself. As well, the shim the gunsmith made to fit the mag adapter were cut too small, really a fit and finish issue.I had high hopes for this project and their primary gunsmith talks a good game, but this place proved only to be inefficient and unprofessional. Between their poor communication and inability to deliver an even marginally functional product, I cant reccomend this gunsmith to anyone for any kind of project.

Great buisness . I just had a holster customized by then for my Glock and two months ago they did a custom holster for my CZ. They dont mind answering your questions and never in a rush too move on to the next customer.Not to many veteran owned buisness in fayetteville can stand up to what Rock customs provide in customer service.Keep it up guys!! I bought a gun from this shop thats outside their wheel house. Expecting that it would be solid (since they have a gunsmith on staff), the gun is now at a gunsmith getting repaired as The Rock will not take a return. Disappointed with the shop and my recent purchase.
