Wow!!! That’s all I can say is WOW! The scenery is just stunning. It is an expansive area, lots of elevation changes so while I bet there could be hundreds of people dining, it manages to still feel pretty intimate. The make your own flight was spectacular since you don’t have to have what they picked. It was interesting to order all our food online and yet still be asked to tip. The server delivered food. That was it. I can’t say I was tickled about that. But certainly would come back again.
Let me tell you where my issues began...Dont have any. Honestly from the location to staff and importantly the food I could say if you do not stop by here you are missing out. Definitely recommend sitting outside since Stone Brewing offers an elaborate but quaint scenery. I would definitely love to see their selection of beers on the east coast. This review is sponsored by me so if in the Escondido are stop by you will not regret it.
Stone Brewing World Bistro & Garden is very impressive from the time you walk up to the gargoyle on the huge mirror doors until the final swig of beer. Greeted by friendly staff, quick service and delicious food all while sitting in a beautiful park like setting. We split the Mac & Cheese, Brussel sprouts and a brisket dip sandwich, everything was delicious.Making a reservation is highly recommended.
Came to have a birthday lunch with my sis andnher fiancee. Tried all different kinds off food. My favorite was the impossible burger. The Peruvian chili peppers were the best. Got the tacos as well and I wasnt a bug fan of them. The chocolate brownie was delicious as well. Definitely be coming back again.
18% minimum tip for almost no attention at all. We saw our waiter twice for less than 10s. You have to scan the QR and order and pay in your phone. So the waiter does nothing. Somebody else brings you the food. Not a single water refill.Food portions are small and crazy overpriced; Even more with the +18% for nothing.Quality ok but quantity not.Never again. Good luck coming back from COVID.So sad....
If there were a haircut analogy for this place, it would be a mullet. Looks like a business park in the front, but its a party in the back. Beautiful grounds, great food, and great beer. Very nice place to eat, but reservations are recommended, especially if you want to eat outside (and you should)
The food and service and ambiance was excellent. Only reason I didnt give it 5 stars is that I like to order in person not on my phone and when all my guests ordered on their phones they were charged and I didnt get to pick up the tab as I had intended. Too confusing for me. Great salad though.
Had a really positive experience at Stone Brewing. I don’t drink beer, went with my buddy who loves Stone Brewing and we were both blown away by this place. The secluded outdoor seating is amazing, the food was very good and the service was quick. Would go back in a heartbeat.
Staff was rude. We were told it was a 45 minute wait for the garden. The garden was completely empty for the half hour we waited to get a beer. A man working at the inside bar was completely dismissive and seemed annoyed at our presence at the bar. We left without ordering. The vibe was off. Decided to go to Carlsbad Brewing Co for some service. We used to love this place. Sad.
Excellent, slightly adventurous food, with an enormous IPA menu, paired with cathedral ceilings and a rock fountain inside, and an extensive outdoor seating area in a large garden with heaters and umbrella make for a very enjoyable - if expensive - dining experience. The wait staff is welcoming and easy going and a new ordering system involving your phone and an online menu keep customers well-served and make it easy to split checks. A tour of the brewery and a gift shop make the experience complete.
Great service! We had no reservation, but they were able to accommodate us. Food was great and the service was too. Only thing I didn’t like too much was having to use your phone to place an order for even something as simple as water. This place could use a renovation as well considering the nice open space they have with the garden. It’s looking a bit aged.
Great food and atmosphere. We sat outside on the patio and there were patio heaters at each table. The current ordering system was extremely effective. Beyond just scanning and getting the menu from a QR code, it actually provides an app to use to order your food and drinks. It’s super easy to use and very convenient. Would definitely comeback next time I’m in the area!
Amazing place!!! Great food, amazing beer, and excellent ambiance. Sit outside for ultimate experience
Environment: 5/5 beautiful outdoor seating in a garden with a pond. Great atmosphere. Peaceful and natural.Service: 4/5 all ordering down through the app which (due to covid) which is convenient and saves time. But, once the order is in it takes awhile just to get napkins or water refills. Wish the servers were a bit more attentive.Food: 4/5 the food is good but it’s not “knock my socks off worth $30” good. My burger had good flavors. The chips are too much and do not come with a dipping sauce or something to offset the huge pile of potato. Tacos have good flavor. You really should come here for the drinks though. The microbrew beers and even their non-alcoholic options are good.
Our first visit came a few days after they opened. Its still a really nice setting, but their menu used to be much more interesting. I miss the garlic chicken that they would only serve outdoors. And the avocado mousse with hot peppers. Now the menu is much more accessible, making this restaurant less interesting. Not that the food and beer arent still good; they are. Also, their service during COVID (order from your phone) is fairly efficient but impersonal.Overall... I still like it, but not as much as I used to.
This is one of our favorite breweries, there has yet been an IPA of theirs that has disappointed. This was 3rd time here (2nd during covid) and as always the staff is great, friendly and helpful and grounds are relaxing. With Covid, they are doing ordering from the table using a QR code. There is a little something for all dietary lifestyles. As a Vegan eater I have 3 entree options, an incredible burger (most processed) with vegan options, cauliflower tacos (gluten free), or bombay wrap (not gluten free) .The bombay wrap is my favorite, with Indian spices reminds me of a Samosa burrito style and feels like it is the best rounded meal option.Ordering with the QR is pretty straight forward and convenient. But if you need help you will have to flag down a staff member to ask.Your best bet is to make reservations ahead of time to guarantee seating.
Our electronic order was lost, the retirement party only got their beers but food was not had, service was waaaay below standard, wont see me again.Very disappointed group, sad scene.
Stone Brewery used to be a great place to have a nice meal, but I am not a fan anymore. They have gotten rid of all the servers, ordering and everything is done via a QR code and online. If you need anything, you have to try to flag down a random staff member. If there’s any issue, good luck getting help or even extra napkins. Also, don’t go if it’s hot, the inside AC is barely perceptible. It’s such a pretty place, they just need to step up the service.
Love this place. Great service, great food, great atmosphere.
Everytime were in this area, we eat here. It never disappoints. They just changed their menu in April 2019...still very delicious (and the pretzel is still available!)! The jalapeno cheesecake...eh, it was unique. Wouldnt get it again. But everything g else...Five stars each for atmosphere, food, and service!
This brewery is one of the most beautiful places Ive been to. The food was delicious and the outside patio and garden is just heavenly. This is a place that you can take some friends out to drink, or its a place you can take a date to enjoy a peaceful meal. I highly recommend visiting this place as its visually appealing.
The place is a little difficult to see/find from the road. After walking through a tree covered path and entered the door to the brewery, I felt like I walked into another world!Because we arrived before rush hours, we were sat down quickly and even had a choice between inside/outside seatings. Too bad that there was a private event that day and we didn’t get to check out the garden area. It just mean we will have to go back again.Quality of service: greatQuality of beer: excellentQuality of food: yummy
The ordering system is so dumb, waited half an hour for my food just to find out the order never went through. Never going back there
We went with family to have lunch at Stone Brewery today and we were not disappointed. My husband had a vegan option - Bombay Burrito which had smushed curry potatoes and roasted cauliflower in it. I had the Fruity Goat, a delicious green salad with berries and goat cheese. We ordered two pretzels (theyre huge) and onion rings (delicious!) to share among 6 people. Everybody loved and devoured what they had. I gave 4 stars only because the menu, ordering, and paying online was a little unwieldy but the service was wonderful and I wouldnt hesitate to come back again. (And again!)
Due to occupancy restrictions, there was a long wait. Didnt see availability on open table but same day might have been restricted. Maybe call in ahead.Seated at the bar, server was very polite and was also handling drink orders for the entirety of the restaurant it seemed. Balanced well.Drinks and food were good! We especially liked the very fried potatoes that came with the French dip brisket. We also got the pretzel and were happy with it. The bier cheese had a slightly smokey flavor.Experimental double brown and double red were google balanced IPAs with a good amount of flavor. Woot stout was very strong but great for balanced drinking.
Wish I could have really experienced this place. We had a reservation for 7 for a birthday dinner and the reservation was accidentally placed for the week after. There was a 2 hour wait time at that point, so they couldnt fit us in. Miscommunication on the staffs part, but a huge let down to all of us that were looking forward to this for a month. The beer list was great, nice ambiance from what I could see, however Im disappointed we couldnt sit down for a nice meal. Not sure if we will make another reservation to actually experience this place. My review will not hurt their business, as they seem to have quite a following.*To the owners- train your staff on making reservations, maybe mange an scripting for situations like these, and theensure the patron knows they should receive a text message confirmation to ensure their expectations are met.
One of my favorite breweries. Visiting from Miami and I can honestly say this was the nicest brewery I have ever been to. Ambiance was beautiful, service was fantastic, and the beer is always great, and still better than expected. This is a must stop place for any beer lover.
What an absolutely beautiful facility! The gardens are great with tons of seating and it looks like every group can have its own semi private sort of space. Its awesome. Of course its a Stone facility, so you know the beer is top notch, but it turns out the food is pretty damn good too!And it has a great togo section, and a huge swag shop. Definitely go here if you can.
Food was cold. Not brought out together for my party. Even my coffee was cold! Service sucked! Food was lacking at best. I was extremely disappointed.
So glad we came back here to visit again. The manager Evan made our night with his extraordinary customer service. Can’t beat the best beer in San Diego! Looking forward to coming BACK!
Drinks great as always. Food fine but not as good as I remember. Burger was missing stuff, taco tortillas were stale and nachos were missing ingredients too. But the worse is the contactless service. You have to order everything through an app and there’s no one there to ask questions about the drinks or food. The contactless translates to service less and that eliminates one of the main reasons to go out to dinner.
Awesome brewery experience whether or not you love beer. They have a beautiful garden area where you can lounge while sipping some beer or wine from the bar area. The dining area is beautiful and the food is delicious. The bar area is perfect for some drinks and appetizers if you dont want a full meal. The beer tour and tasting is definitely worth the price. Its fun to see the process of how Stone beer is made and get to sample some classics and seasonal beers.
I had such a wonderful experience here with my wife today. We started our day with a brewery tour. We got to start our day with a Berliner wiese. We crawled through the brewery, bottling/packing area. We finished the tour with three more samples. Following that the wife had reservations at the Bier garden which was just fantastic. We sat outside and what a beautiful experience. The temperature was just right, ambience was perfect. We had a stellar server who was just so attentive, helpful and kind. She made excellent suggestions, had a warm personality and was thoughtful and very customer focused. Wife and I ordered their garlic beer cheese soup to share. The sausage kraut plate, fried creamer potatoes and braised pork belly with garlic fried rice. Eyes were way bigger than our stomachs. We stopped at their gift shop and got a couple items. It was a wonderful experience, one I wont forget.
Love the place. Love their beers. Nice ambiance. Pleasant times.
Great place to go to in the time of Covid! Stone has gone above and beyond to make the best of the situation.Dining is all outside in the garden but with the shade and umbrellas, I actually preferred it even if dining indoors was an option. The ordering via Tab online service makes everything easy; I was able to order drinks, food, and even refill my water without feeling like I was being bothersome or that I was being checked on.The food was amazing. I was bummed because traditional fries arent on the menu but the smushed potatoes are a good consolation. Potato was cooked to my specifications (med rare). The beer was cold and came with a little paper cover to protect from any contamination on the way from the tap to the table. We will definitely be coming back again and again.
Loved our experience here. The brewery was definitely the nicest I have ever been to with natural stone elements, water features and massive seating. The IPA list is extensive, and the back patio filled with lush trees, greenery, and wooden Adirondack chairs left me feeling like I was in a wildlife exhibit at Animal Kingdom. Their beef jerky and toffee chocolate in the gift shop was delish! Hope to visit again one day.
Beautiful restaurant and delicious food and drinks. Digital ordering was cumbersome to get started. Once set up, it was easy, albeit pretty impersonal.
I love this place. The beer, of course, is fantastic. That goes without saying since its probably why youre coming here. But the food is amazing too; and the environment... stunning. The garden is beautiful. It is so relaxing to sit in this little slice of paradise and unwind with your family and friends. This was our second visit and Ashley helped us this time. (We live in Las Vegas by the way and these visits were not during the same trip. This is practically a vacation destination in and of itself to us). Ashley was just amazing. Super friendly, great beer suggestions, and when I ignored her when she told me the short rib grilled cheese sandwich was rather hot, she kindly brought me ice cream to quench the flames so I could at least finish one half of it. (Its called Hellfire Cheese for a reason folks. It was really good but ++REALLY++ darn hot, for me at least). The Duck Al Pastor tacos that my wife got were both delicious and, as a bonus, didnt try to melt my face. The desserts are fabulous too. How does Blueberry Blue Cheese Jalapeno Cheesecake sound? A little funky you say? It is. In a good way. How about salted caramel cookie ice cream sandwiches? They are absolutely perfect after trying hellfire cheese for the first time, believe me. Or dont believe me. Just come try it for yourself.
I found my entree to be mediocre, at best. I had the crispy salmon. The flavors just tried too hard to be different and so the ginger was too overwhelming. The skin was tasty, and the salmon was edible, but I barely touched the rest. My fiance had the veggie burger, which he really enjoyed except the spice was a bit too much. For appetizers, we had the pretzels and the olives/almonds. Both were wonderful. I was especially surprised that I liked the olives because I dont generally like olives. My friend had the peach IPA and I tried it and really loved the flavor! Its the first IPA Ive ever tried that I didnt find bitter. We had the brownie and ice cream desert and I was in heaven, especially after the awful salmon. I was surprised that one ice cream was big enough for four of us to share, but it was!
Very cool looking place with the largest patio Ive ever seen. Beer was good, but low selection for a non-IPA drinker. Overall good experience, but they refused to serve us after one beer saying last call passed (they didnt announce it). A few minutes later they were serving the couple across from us fresh beers.
It feels like you’re in Jurassic Park, so green and lots of outdoor seating to sit and enjoy your beer. Make early early reservations for your beer tour! It’s $5 and you get tasters at the end a a taster glass to take home. Tour guy was funny and entertaining. Food isn’t the best because they try to be too trendy and contemporary with the fusions which didn’t turn out well like the Peruvian chickens and Japanese katsu chicken. Still with quail knots and the American inspired food like the sandwiches, mussels and ribs.
Favorite brewery for 7 years now. Finally came to the escondido location from Utah. Food was above expectation and brews were of course above expectation. Beautiful facility as well.
My expectations were very high and Stone really let me down. There only reason why I have two stars is because the facility is beautiful but the service and food isnt great.I showed up at 3 pm for dinner with a party of 8 and they told us they werent about accepting any large parties but we could sit in the garden... On the way to the garden we noticed that half of the place was empty. We decided to just make reservations for the following day and come back. After confirming my reservation of 8 in the morning we show up for dinner only 10 minutes prior to my reservation. Although not busy they made us wait until 10 minutes after out reservation to be seated to a table for 7, one seat less than we reserved. The host didnt even notice and took off. Thats not even the worst part, this is a brewery that doesnt offer a hamburger or fries. The menu was extremely overpriced and the food wasnt even good. Most things were vegetarian and upwards of $20 a plate. Im extremely disappointed in this place and I will not be back.
Awful service. Ridiculous waiting time (more than hour and a half) mediocre food. I DO NOT recommend this place.
Tried it yet again because my friends wanted to go there for lunch... well the beer is fantastic but the food; still subpar compared to their beer. Had a burger tbat was okay with horrible chip/frie things... cant say I will ever try their food again. I will stick to the beer!!!!
Had an awesome and safe experience- very thought out process to keep us all safe with online ordering at the table, recommend the fish tacos and fish n chips!
This brewery/restaurant is wonderful you can really enjoy yourselves. The brew is excellent and the food is uncommonly superb. The ambience is a garden park setting with an abundance of trees and pathways or restaurant setting styles which ever you enjoy. If you want someplace new and different that you can trust for a good meal or a casual Saturday relaxation this is it. I only wish I lived closer.
What an awesome brewery to visit. Every member of the staff that I was in contact with was on point tonight. The facility is a site to be seen. So many different beers on tap with a decent number of guests beers also. I had the brussel sprouts and a shrimp appetizer. Both were very good and something I would purchase again. I definitely recommend making the drive to Stone if your in the area.
Definitely not a brewpub experience. Ordering and payment is all over your phone. If you want another beer or additional items, there is no personal interaction. No input from waitstaff at all. Was told to contact concierge if any questions(?)!!!Totally impersonal atmosphere at a beautiful location. Food was very average. If you want a pub experience you can get better at a chain franchise!!! Their next step might be automated servers bringing food to the table!!!Not a comfortable place to have a few. But could be……
Great service! We had no reservation, but they were able to accommodate us. Food was great and the service was too.
Amazing venue and beer selection. Service was superb as well! Food was ok.
Not as good as it used to be. The Fruity Goat salad was my favorite, but I went back yesterday for the first time in a while, and it seems that maybe theyve switched up the ingredients. My boyfriend ordered the brisket sandwich. He said that the meat was too tough, and that there was no way it was slow-cooked for 36 hours like the menu suggested. The onion rings were great - but other than that, we werent very impressed. We were disappointed, compared to the last few times we had been to Stones.
Great layout and set up. Beer was great and so was the pretzel. The other food was just average and a bit bland.
Beer was good, the food so, so. The issue is, you order and pay through an app, before you receive your food and a request for a tip with the 20% button highlighted for your total and you have not spoken to anyone, order food a person. Bri gs it out, but no one comes to your table to asked if everything is fine. I understand a shortage of wait staff, but you pay up front and seated in the garden, no staff going to tables other than dropping off food, so what is the tip for? Good luck post covid, but keep making the beer.Cheers.
Stone Brewery is one of Escondidos highlights for a good reason even though Im not a huge fan of their renowned beer. Tour was $8 and came with four tasters. Guide rushed through it, but I think most people are ok with just skipping to the tasting. We also had the food and I thought it was ok. The Angry Chicken sandwich I got was a bit plain and did not taste freshly made. The chicken was couldve had a bit more of the gochujang glaze and the kimchi coleslaw shouldve had more kimchi to it (less of whatever else is put in it). Unfortunately, the chicken was also in between two large, dry pieces of bread which I ended up just removing. All in all, hard to say its worth $15.Their pretzel, tacos, and karaage appetizers were fine. The waitress did let give us a free taster of beer when we ordered too. I didnt like it, but the gesture was nice.Long story short - come for a beer and skip the food.
Great food, great beer. Nice relaxed environment. The COVID-19 phone app ordering system threw me off a bit but my wife navigated it just fine. Highly suggest making reservations.
Awesome graduation party, thanks Stone. Kids enjoyed themselves. Fun place. Great food. Get the fish!
Very cool place. They offer tours wich i wish we had time to go on. Food was delicious! Very cool scenery!
This is a great place to chill out with friends over beers and some tasty food. The outdoor setting is so quiet and beautiful. We had a great time.
The phone in ordering is not good. No one is really assigned to you so all sorts of modifications and repeat requests took a lot of time with our non-server. The bill was $167. We drank a few bottles of water at the first and then requested more water and never got it. Staff seemed disorganized. They must be glad to be saving money on a skeleton staff of servers. Food was good but we wont be back.
Beautiful tasting room ❤️
Nice place. We first sat inside. The service was friendly. The decor is very modern. Lively. The beers were pretty good. We drink Stone at home occasionally so going to the brewery was quite a treat. They even offer non Stone beers. The menu was 90% IPAs. A few of the medium to darker beers were out. We ordered the ahi nachos. Fresh. A bit spicy. After eating we took a look outside. There is another bar with a patio. A few more steps is a mobile beer station. In their pretty garden. We ordered a couple more apps to try. This is where we were a little disappointed. Our food got delivered to the station. The beertender decided not to take the extra step and drop off the order to our table... only steps away. He was not busy at all. Just plain lazy. When my husband walked to get our food he noticed that other peoples orders were just sitting there. Out in the open. Who knows for how long. Terrible. Sad that some servers do the bare minimum and still expect a tip. No. The last two items of food we ordered were also spicy, but good. Will we go back? Probably not. But it is a nice place to check out for the first time.
Really nice outdoor space to hang and let the kids play. Brewery tours, gift shop. We ate inside the main dining area and enjoyed our meals. Really fun experience!
Stone Brewing is a pretty cool spot. Nice dinner, good servers. Architecture is fabulous. The gardens are serene. Great food. Big variety. The pizza flatbread is a little hard a lot of times. Too crispy. Beer of course on point.
It was my first time here and my wife’s second time. She fell in love with he place and wanted to bring me here. From the outside, the place looked just like any nice and clean commercial building. Upon entering the whole atmosphere changed. The lobby welcomes you with a nature outdoorsy feel with rocks and water. The outside courtyard area was even more inspiring. There was greenery, stone and wood everywhere. The stream was filled with healthy Koi fish that my sons love. All they wanted to do was hang out by the Koi pond. The staff is very welcoming and casual. The food tasted great. My favorite dish was the adobo pork belly plate and baked brussel sprouts. Since it was a brewery, I had some tasters of some of their in house beer. I forgot the name of it but I liked the chocolate flavored one. After lunch, we just hung out in the courtyard and let the kids play and run around with some of the other kids that were there. I’m glad I visited this place and I will definitely come back with friends and family.
Interesting place to visit. The seating area outside was lovely and the ambiance was great. The drinks were delicious, great seltzer and beer. But the food was either way overly spicy to the point that thats all you tasted, or bland and soggy. Very disappointing. Staff was friendly.
Great service and good food. Everything came out fast and fresh. Amazing selection of beers. They have an awesome outdoor area that makes you feel like you are no longer in Escondido. I like to think of it as a mini stay-cation when we each there.
Loved this place definitely coming back
The setting is lovely but the food is only mediocre. Been here 4 times and each time was just ok. Now that you order by phone there is absolutely nothing to recommend it. It is cold, impersonal and if you need something extra, like a salt shaker maybe, good luck finding a server. Will not be back for a fifth trip.
Incredible setting, great beer as always, service good, food was good but no salsa for tacos 😱! Understood if we were in DF in a fine dining setting but still. Online ordering is great dont get me wrong and even a must, but we cant be leaving out regular condiments folks. ie Salsa for tacos, bbq sauce for tendors, dressing side for salad, etc. Even if its a regular restaurant fine, but a place where you drink and want your customers to drink, you cant expect them to remember all the condiments with food. Especially if theyre paying a premium already. Maybe just my own peeve but when you got kids or other things to focus on, by the time you order your condiments it makes it all not worth the extra ask and then you find yourself settling for descent food.
One of the oldest and still one of the best. Three reasons to go to this brewery, even though its far from San Diego and you can drink Stone everywhere. 1) Great beer 2) Great food 3) Most beautiful brewery Ive ever been to.
Food was great, beautiful restaurant, but service could be better. We had to get up and find someone for things like a glass, half and half, etc. Ordering is self serve through a QR code, which has its own challenges, as no one is around when you have questions on the menu, entrees or drinks, or even the app and ordering.
This place is not Clean! Dirty glasses and environment. Mice running around! I had a horrible experience here would not recommend this place. Rude staff and bad smell.
Most badass place Ive ever been to. Thanks again for good beer and good food.
Blown away by a portabella mushroom sandwich! One gets lost in the beer selection. Very nice selection of clothing to purchase. No markings on the building to say we have arrived. Awesome visit!
Incredible beer, incredible food, incredibly beautiful restaurant. The service was awesome, except that I had to order through an app.
Love this place, good food, good ambiance and great drinks.
We came here with out of town friends who wanted to refill their Stone growlers as a Fathers Day gift. The guy at the register talked up the latest Milk n Honey IPA brew so we got it as well as Tangerine Express IPA. He said we could get the Milk n Honey at the bar to drink as well. We all went to the bar to buy the Milk n Honey IPA and were informed that they pulled it off of the draft line. I went back to the register and asked for a taster. He made a big deal about how Stone doesnt do tasters. I have to buy a 32 oz can if I want to try it. What the heck happened here at Stone? They used to do tasters, no problem. Plus, we just bought refills for the growlers, we purchased more beer at the bar for immediate consumption and we cant get a sample taste of a beer not on tap that he personally recommended? Totally turned off by how corporate Stone has become. Not going to bring friends here any more. Id rather go to Ballast Point or Green Flash or any other brewery that still treats their customers like they value their repeat customers.
Great social distancing, meal and cuisine were delicious...
