They sent out an installer to our house and while installing the windshield for my wifes car it broke. That was OK but the fact that wed have to wait 5 days for a new one is what upset😡us.Now mind you the windshield they were replacing had a 3inch crack on the passengers side BUT the new windshield he was installing that ended up cracking looked like it was in an accident (look at the photos). So now my wife has to drive to work with this damaged windshield. So I drove it over to the shop and asked if we could get a rental. I was told by the manager as long as she had the receipt saying they caused the damage she should be OK and wouldnt receive a ticket🤨 NOT sure if thats true or not.Well she made it through the 5 days with no ticket thank goodness!! But I still think we shouldve gotten a rental!

You can never speak with a person it’s a robot call! If you are planning on getting a quote or explain anything the robot will not forward you to a real person! So you just go around in a circle attempting to speak with a real person! Not professional at all!

Not happy.They advertise low cost or free chip repair but when I get there they want to charge me $135.They told me its free if I go through my insurance company.Well everythings free if I go through my insurance company.Wasted time and gas.IF A REPAIR COSTS $135...THATS WHAT YOU SHOULD ADVERTISE!Anything less than that is deceptive.But whatever gets people in the door right?

Scam 100%. Horrible service. Just worst. I have fixed my windshield with different companies on my other cars, and nothing ever happened. This time, not only the glass now broken from a tiny, barely visible cheap, to a huge line going through drivers side. After the repair was done (they thought everything is good) we came to pick up the car and a huge crack was going through the windshield that they were not aware of. After that, they decided to scam us by telling us that the replacement costs $480. As soon as they heard that I have a $500 deductible, we magically got a $200 discount. While they were deciding on everything, I was able to get quotes for $240 with different shops in 20 minutes. Basically, they are just scamming people with insurance (Geico specifically) to get insurance money. Scam all the way. Dont bring your business to them. Just stay away.

Not everything went according to the original plan but Robert from the customer service was able to handle the situation to my complete satisfaction!The windshield looks better than new and they even transferred all my parking and service stickers!

My windshield got cracked by a golf ball, called my insurance and they sent me to the safelite location 5 min from my home. Everyone there was so friendly! I was told it would be a few hours, so I waited. My vehicle was done in an hour and a half! They did an amazing job! Anyone in the San Marcos and surrounding areas should feel comfortable and confident using this location! I cant say enough kind things about this location!!

Used for small nick in front windshield. Reception and tech were very friendly. The tech emphasized they would put pressure on the window to do the repair and in very rare cases the window may crack. 15 minutes after I dropped the vehicle off, they called and my window cracked. They quoted me $435 to replace the windshield. I explained Im covid unemployed and asked about a less expensive fix and they offered a generic for $375. Left with my cracked window, came home and did a little research. Found a company that replaced at my home (same day) for $195. Id like to think these were honest people, but Im posting to see if others can relate to this safelite repair (for free) = safelite replace (for $$$) experience

The absolute worst repair I have ever had done on my windshield!!!! I even called and spoke to the manager minutes after the repair was done... When I showed her pictures of the repair she said oh yeah it looks like the tech didnt get a few of the spider legs filled properly Then said well what is done is done and there is no turning back to fix a repair once it is done She then offered me $100 towards a new windshield replacement to make up for the bad repair job...... Ummmmm since your employee did the bad job how about you replace it for free?!?! So then she sends out another technician to see if he can fix the mess up and he was here for 1 minute and looked at me and said He doesnt even know why she sent him here as there is nothing he can do See pic attached of how bad it looked after the repair. Come on Safelite! you gotta do better than this and do right by your customer when your employee doesnt do a good job. If this doesnt get resolved ASAP I will be filing a complaint through the BBB. It shouldnt even have to come to that as you guys should just do the right thing!!!!!

Excellent workmanship at the Escondido location and no issues with the installation, however, prior to the work being done trying to get a hold of someone from customer service from the generic corporate phone number was painful. I was on hold for over an hour (not exaggerating) with no answer so I finally hung up. Also, since they wont allow direct contact to the local shop, I ended up having to waste my time further by driving there to have my issue resolved. I would rate the local shop as great, but corporate needs to work on handling customer calls, its been a while since Ive experienced such poor service.

There is no fun version of paying for your window to be fixed. What can be done, is that process can be made smooth, professional, and affordable. Safelite achieved these things.

Horrible service. bad custumer service. And on top of all the bad experience they use a low quality Chinese brand winshield. And now you can see between the metal and the top of the seeling cover i uploaded a picture so you can see for yourself. The bad part of all this is that they say that this is normal and they cant fix it Dont waist your time and money with this guys.

Just had my windshield repaired by Safelite. Very professional and punctual technician. Great work. Unfortunately, the very next day a pine cone fell out of a tree into windshield and left a scratch. Safelite was going to charge almost $140 to repair a minute scratch.If I had taken it to any other local service, I was told there would be no charge. Hence the rating. Very poor customer service.

A very dissatisfied customer. Would not give even 1 star. The manager I spoke too was not at all helpful but stick and insisted with their policy. Not worth doing business with them.Our Wawanesa insurance sent them to us and the tech Tracy came on time (I would consider shrewd business ethic) but when I asked her how much will it cost if we replace it, she told me $500-$600 so I told her to just fix it, but seems encouraging me to just replace it cause she can’t guarantee me that as soon as she fix it that it will not crack. Just the same I insisted to just fix it but was already suspecting that she will not do it right for she wanted me to replace it. 2 days after, the windshield got a long cracked from where she fixed it. I know that she didn’t do it right the first time cause I have another car that has a smaller chip and I just put a nail polish and it’s still ok and no crack happened sitting outside my garage under the strong heat of the sun for more than 3 months now; our other Camry taken cared of by Wawanesa too with bigger chip and still ok for several years now.Very dissatisfied customer!

This was a great experience considering what an unpleasant experience it is to have to replace your windshield because a rock from an irresponsible gravel hauler shattered it.Everyone was super professional, friendly, and explained every step of the process to me, answering all my questions. They worked directly with my insurance company and got me the best possible price for my new windshield. It was much more affordable than I expected.Highly recommended!

I got a crack in my windshield from a stone kicked up while driving on the freeway. I was able to get an appointment for the next day. The service was prompt and very professional at a very reasonable price. Great experience.

First, Safelite accommodated my schedule by having a tech come in early because I wasnt able to make the drop off. The tech, Juan, was there ahead of me and immediately started working on my car. He work was excellent, and I was in out of the shop in about an hour, including calibration. Juan calibrated accordingly, but my cars sensors didnt immediately register the changes. After driving it for a couple days with thr cars computer still not reflecting the calibration. Safelite immediately scheduled another appointment. Juan again started immediately and I was out of the shop within 30 minutes. The shop is excellent, Juan in particular. Though I hope I dont have to repair my windshield again, Ill know exactly where I need to go next time.

Very quick and has crack repair has held up well. insurance usually covers crack repairs and can help setup appt for you at safelite.

The representative was prompt, efficient, and explained the process fully. Once completed, he explained the one blemish that was left in the glass from the initial impact. No mess was left behind and the whole process was quick. Great attention to detail.

My windshield was hit by a huge rock. I went on-line and scheduled an appointment for the next day. When I arrived, Robert was very professional and explained everything thoroughly. The repair was done in 20 minutes. They even cleaned all my windows and vacuumed inside!

Went in today for repair to a crack in windshield (originally nickel size but had grown due to an attempted repair that did not work) and Alec was our vehicle technician. My husband asked a lot of questions, our situation was tricky and the conversation took awhile. Alec was always professional, never took any offense to some questions that could have caused some defensive replies...all 5 stars to this shop and Alec. Very trust worthy and knowledgeable and highly recommend!

Dont Bring your car to safelight they are scumbags with no knowledge of customer service.I Made an appointment in person came back on the day of appointment and they had scheduled me for a different location then when I returned at the rescheduled time the employee then drove my car to the back of the shop and were involved in an accident. No discount was given for the service again horrible customer service. Now 3 weeks later they are claiming that they were not liable for any damage and the manager told me no skin of his back. I will be encouraging anyone I come in contact with to boycott this joke of a company and I look forward to seeing them in court!!

I wish I could give a 0 Star..... Had an appointment for a mobile glass pull on the backglass of a truck at our facility. The shop on Auto Park Way ended up being short handed so we ended up taking the vehicle to the shop for the work to be completed. We also picked the truck back up and brought it back to our shop to continue with the body repairs. Then we had another appointment setup for the install. No one ever showed up. No call, no nothing. When we called Safelite (after sitting on hold for 16:21) to check on status the man kept saying no you need to bring the truck to us, we dont go to you. I explained that was incorrect and that we needed the mobile install because the truck is at a bodyshop having repairs completed. He then became argumentative and extremely snarky and rudely stated You obviously dont know what you are talking about. I talked to Andrea (the one that setup apt) and she told be you flaked on your appointment. At this point I just ask what needs to be done to get this resolved and get the glass back installed. He scoffed, laughed and then hung up on me. I cannot believe that is acceptable at a place that is supposed to be a professional business establishment.

They fixed my window but didnt clean up the broken glass as promised. Also took 3 tries to get the right glass and gasket.

The rubber lining around my windshield started coming off and every company I called (including safelite) said my entire windshield would have to be replaced. I took it into safelite this afternoon, and the man there told me he could just glue it back into place because he didnt want me to have to pay a bunch of money for an entirely new windshield. Sure enough, 25 minutes later he was finished, my rubber lining was glued back into place, my windshield was cleaned, and when I asked him how much I owed him, he told me it was completely free! Gosh, such a huge blessing. Robert, you made this girls day! Thank you safelite for your honesty and costumer service!

Had a horrible experience here with these guys none professionals only reason why I had to go through them because was my insurance company they lost parts to my back window of my Honda pilot they had me waiting more than expected because they had the wrong window twice they did apologize the manager tried to lie when I spoke to my insurance provider about what had happened they ripped up my window mesh with the broken glass I still have Broken glass in side the door till this day and this happens 3 years ago I just came across this Google review and I had to post wont recommend them at all wish I was able to not leave a start at all in order to leave this review

Called this place three weeks ago and requested to replace the windshield in my car. They told me to come back in one week to replace it. When I went there they ordered the wrong window and they told me to come back in a week. After another week waiting, one day after my appointment, they called cancelling the appointment. I am driving my car with the window cracked and they told me today that I have to wait another week. They are very incompetent and I will complaint with USAA.I dont recommend this place.

As an update, I responded to a message from Safelites diligent and responsive team that would be happy to help 5 days ago on Yelp. There has been no response so guessing their message on my Yelp review was an attempt to show the appearance of actually caring about the complete lack of customer service. This simply confirms that Safelite San Diego is not the place to go if you are expecting any level of customer service.The review:In short, if you choose to use OEM, use another company or be willing to wait a month for the glass.The long story…My windshield replacement order was sent to Safelite from my insurance company on October 10th and an appointment was scheduled for the following day. Got a call (the only call from them other than the call to schedule the appointment on the 7th of November) canceling the appointment an hour ahead stating that the windshield had not come in yet. Fair enough since I requested OEM glass so I expected a little delay.After no updates for 7 days following the cancellation, I called them on the 17th to be told I had to call another number because “my store doesnt place the orders”. Was sent the number and made the call to hear from yet another person the part number had changed so there would be an additional delay but the windshield should be in on October 31st. I would assume since auto glass is their business and part numbers change on a regular basis that this would have been checked but based on my experience to date, not surprised this didnt happen.No call again on October 31st so I call them to check on status. Still in transit and I have no idea when it will be here. Could you possibly check on tracking for a customer that has been waiting 11 days due to an ordering mistake on your part?No call again on the 1st which was the new date the windshield was promised (by someone in the Escondido store) so I tried to call them. First, directly to the San Diego location that apparently places orders to hear a recording saying the store was closed for the day. A second call to the Escondido store where it was confirmed that the person who does the ordering for all of the San Diego area was out of the office for the day. I was told I needed to call back as opposed to offering to contact me. Again, customer service completely lacking and no empathy for the 12 day delay on getting my windshield replaced and apparently a national glass company that doesn’t have computers to track orders… I’m sure they have computers to take your money.I gave up on ever hearing back after all this and expected I would need to take my car to the dealer upon my return from a business trip when someone actually called to schedule the appointment for the 7th of November. A full 28 days from the claim being submitted and 27 days from the original appointment.The installer was fantastic but cant make up for the complete failure of everyone else at Safelite I had to deal with.Do yourself a favor if you are looking for an OEM replacement, have your dealer do the work. You will have to take your car to them but your insurance company can’t tell you where to take your business and you can avoid the headache associated with Safelite if you choose to use OEM parts.

Our car came to Safelite with a minor rock chip. Getting it fixed seemed like a good idea to prevent further spreading. Of course, upon trying to fix it, Safelite managed to break the windshield. They disclose it as a possibility and make you sign a waiver while saying oh it NEVER happens. Well it does. If you have a minor chip, youre probably better of buying a kit at Autozone and repairing it yourself.The manager at the time offered to make it right and sell us a new windshield at a discount. The windshield came in two brands, one of which was the same as OEM. Of course, I requested the same brand as OEM, and was told no problem, well get it ordered for you.3 weeks later, Safelite was never able to get the brand of glass I was promised. The best they could do was now offer to sell me the OEM glass at twice the price, because they have a bunch in their warehouse. How kind of them to offer to sell me their backstock instead of ordering what they promised they would.I couldnt be more dissapointed in the overall level of service received. There are many options for windshield work, and I encourage everyone and anyone reading this to look elsewhere first.
