Walked in to see what they had and try out a few guitars and I ended up walking out with one.The staff was good and I had a great chat with an instructor. If I wasnt visiting and lived closer Id probably have bought lessons on the spot. If you hesitating dont stop in ask questions. Dont be afraid to check out a guitar. The Staff is very knowledgeable, friendly and they offer lessons ! This was our 2nd instrument that weve purchased. First a keyboard and recently an electric drum set. Kenny assisted us with the drums, He was a great help in making our decision !!

Every time Ive shopped here since it opened the staff have been rude and unhelpful. The worst time I shopped there was when they were handing out sale fliers that were outdated so by the time I got to the counter I thought Id be saving but the cashier informed me that all of the sales were over. When I asked why they were handing out fliers that were out of date they said it was to advertise products. I brought up how they shouldnt hand out fliers for sales that are over and they got really rude and mean. I then went to put things back and they started making comments. Completely unprofessional. I dont know if they have new employees but I dont think Ill be back as long as world of music still has its doors open.

I have been wanting a guitar for the longest time and they helped me choose the perfect one for me! The staff was super helpful and the atmosphere was great and uplifting. I am so excited to learn how to play and also I hope to come back soon to buy more of their great products!

Good store for various musical items.

You can be by yourself in the acoustic room and your mask will slip a little and they will bother you. Its becomes harassment. I understand its corona and PA is very serious about it. But all you guys need to chill.

The employees are great. My daughter plays guitar and bass and they are always welcoming and helpful whenever I take her in to shop. To the guys at Guitar Center, thanks for supporting, encouraging, and helping young musicians!

Very friendly staff and beautiful store

Its OK. Your typical GC. Guitarist for 20 years, so have seen my fair share. Employees seem to be about 50% salespeople rather than musicians in my experience. Its a nice open space compared to other GC Ive been to in the past. Selection is mostly for beginners, wont find a ton of high end or vintage gear here, which is what I like. Some nice pedals and strap selection. Employees always willing to let you try whatever you like, so thats good. I have been told to to stop playing while a salesperson was trying to sell a Squier Strat to a mom, so that was unfortunate, because I wasnt loud. To be fair I hardly walk out with anything but strings, so I cant blame him. Try local World of Music as well, I like them both about the same, and each store has some used treasures every now and then...

It serves its purpose sometimez the staff is hit or miss depending on how much flare theyre required to pump their egos up with is what makes or breaks the GC geographical handicaps.

Awesome experience! I came here because my experience at World of Music was horrible. Mike McLaughlin at World of Music was rude!! On the other hand Guitar Center were friendly and had much a bigger selection, also deals.

I went in looking for a new microphone and some software, and the employee there (Kyle) was extremely knowledgeable and helpful. He pointed me towards a microphone that was the same price and a higher quality, and a software that was more suitable for what I would be doing than I initially went in planning to buy. Even better, when we rang the microphone up, it was on sale for a nice discount. Couldnt be more pleased.

I went there and was going to purchase drums too and got the drum sticks taken away from me like the store was closing yet it was open for another hour I wasent that loud and the staff knew nothing about instruments bad place to go if you are a beginner I could have done better

Place was super clean and well put together. It was also well organized, which is more than I can say for most of the music stores in my town.

Not pleased with Guitar Center in the least bit. My husband and I came in in search of either a new microphone or guitar for my birthday. While in the acoustic room the sales associate came in numerous times asking if I had any questions of which I did not. The only thing I ever asked for while in the room was a guitar pick so I could better play the guitar. After playing my first guitar there was another one that stuck out to me and I retrieved it and began playing it. Shortly after I began singing along with the guitar to get an idea of what the guitar tones would sound like with my singing as Im not just singly a guitarist. A second sales associate then comes briskly into the acoustic room and aggressively states I need to cut the singing as its a big covid spreader. And I assertively state back and talking isnt? Never have I heard this excuse for being told not to sing and needless to say although I was on the cusp of making a purchase of a nearly $400 guitar,due to the lack of service, I walked out and called corporate due to being singled out and embarrassed over absolutely nothing. Will not be going back to this particular location and honestly cant believe how disrespectfully I was treated during my very short visit there.

The people who worked there were amazing extremely kind and genuinely wanted help me and did so greatly. Really organized and clean environment and very positive atmosphere . Successful trip 5 out of 5 for me.

It was a little too noisy today because somebody was in there playing guitar really loud its not my cup of tea but as far as music Place goes it works. Staff is great very knowledgeable very friendly Ill definitely go back and when I do Ill probably spend some money because I really like one thing I can say is there a selection of acoustic guitars did not have any but two that had a mother of pearl inlay so I was a little disappointed there but as far as set up in Joyce its not bad at all

If you could.get a sale person to even acknowledge you exist its a miracle . They will completely ignore you and just stand around and talk with each other. And this is in all of their stores not just this one . Its no wonder they are facing bankruptcy.

Definitely set up for quick sales. Salespeople knew little to nothing about any of the gear I mentioned; which was not in stock. Good for starter musicians, or those on a budget. Good prices, just not impressed with the selection

This may be a corporate store and business model but at least at the Erie location the employees I have dealt with arent just there to collect a paycheck. They have a genuine interest in music and are more than happy to talk shop or help out with questions.

Its really hard to get any serious help. Seems to always take forever to check out. Its definitely flooded with 300 dollar guitars. But it is fun to Mill around in for a few minutes. You can buy a record player there!

Guitar center has a great in store selection, backed by their online warehouse, and nice knowledgeable employees who are ready to help out at a moments notice. They are commission based so make sure you have whichever employee helps you ring you out.

My son got me a gift card for my birthday. I am in my sixties and love to play guitar and have for over 50 years. I had a guitar that I wanted to buy a new strap for. I was greeted as I entered, OK so far so good. I found one I liked and some strap locks. I do the cashier thing, who were more concerned about the latest snapchat goings on than checking me out. I paid for the balance of my items and left. Once I got home, I checked the receipt only to find they charged me $10 more than the price tag said. I turned around and went back. Now they made it right, but didnt seem overly concerned that it happened. I was disappointed in this action.Back home I go. So now I try the strap locks and they wont work on my high end guitar. I told the salesman what I had, but their lack of knowledge allowed me to purchase useless equipment. I returned them as well. Now the cashier had to meet with the manager due to not knowing how to return them. So overall it was not a good experience. I talked to the guitar tech to see what a setup would cost. He was more concerned with making my guitar look nice with a wax job and I just couldnt see why it was so expensive. I have 10 guitars and take very good care of them. I wont be back. I will keep my busy local at World of Music. Three trips and no desire to return.

If you want the best service and one of the most knowledgeable staff members ask for Brandon. Thankyou for being helpful and honest.Finally they put a good store in at the mall.My only complaint is that I wish the store was bigger. Can you imagine it the size of Sears?!The selection is nice and pretty much every musical taste is displayed and available to sample on the spot. This place tops all the other music stores around, including on line since they price match. So far Ive saved over $200 between the price matching and deals I got.If you need it they got it, if not they can get it.

Awesome place! From Guitar needs to DJ equipment. Reasonably priced and the staff was very knowledgeable.

Staff was quick with the answers to my questions, but didnt seem like they wanted to spend any time being the short answers. The store seemed pretty busy, but they were content to wait for people to approach them.

Rudest customer service ever. I wouldn’t even go in here when my husband visited because it made me so angry how rude everyone always was; and that’s IF they acknowledged you! My husband eventually got tired of being treated like dirt too. We take our business elsewhere now.

Yes my guitar was fine as long as I lived in Texas so there was no humidity fluctuations what I move to Northwest Pennsylvania the tuning was a little less than perfect thank you Guitar Center for sending it straight for me.

I went in for help looking for three specific Epiphone guitars. I stood at the front desk for a full minute with an employee scrolling on her phone 10 feet away, did not acknowledge me even when I said “excuse me.” Went back to the acoustic guitar room where the guitars were not in order by price, brand, type — completely random and difficult to find/browse. When I asked an employee he honestly acted like he’d never heard of an Epiphone before and said he’d check the back (?) — came back with nothing and said sorry, guess we don’t have it. Support local business and go to World of Music instead, I regret coming here first.

Staff sits around when store is not busy! The guitars have a coating of dust and finger prints all over them. Most all of the new guitars have not been setup and playing one is nearly impossible.

I will never shop at a guitar center as long as I live ....this one in Erie takes the cake ....called them the night before and told them I had a $500 amp $200 pedal board and $100 wireless plug in that i want to trade in on a $350 tube amp ...ok they said bring your amp up and well make a deal . I said Id be up around 3 oclock to put the amp back that I definitely wanted it... so I drive the hour and a half to get up there its 10 till 3 when I get up there walk in the door the dude tells me the just sold the amp( that I drove an hour and a half for ) and that they would only give me $200 in store credit for my whole set up ...looked on their online store and the amp alone is selling for $399 the pedal for $180 and the G10 for $80 so they were going to make over $400 off just my set up ...what a RIP off ...This is corporate american Greed at its finest ....I went to World of Music just 5 min down there road and got a soooooo much better deal and they actual had a guitar Tech in their store on a Saturday....Guitar Center has gotten worse and worse as the years have went on and I will never step foot in another one as long as I live

Went there to hopefully buy a case for my les paul, the staff although friendly, acted like they didnt know what a guitar case was. Showed me what they had, but acted like they were clueless. After I was told that they didnt have a case for a les paul Im browsing and I look up on a upper shelf above everything looked like a case for a les paul. A les paul is a very popular shape,for a so called music store to not have a case for one is unusual. I was so disgusted with the whole experience I left and drove home an hour away and went to Sam ash. Buyer beware. No wonder this store chain is having problems

Walked in, browsed entire store for 15-20 minutes, and left. Not one person even acknowledged that there was a customer in the store. The staff was gathered around the front counter. No one greeted me or said goodbye. The funny part is As I walked past them to exit empty handed, I overheard them laughing about the one star reviews they had received.....

The staff is very friendly and seem to know what they are talking about when you have questions purchased a spl drum set from them and even though the drum set I got was damaged from factory they made it right without any questions asked and no trouble at all would recommend them to any future musicians

If i could give it 0 stars i would. appalling staff, so incredibly rude, did not get greeted or asked if i needed help once. drum section is miserable and bass guitar section is laughable. how disappointing. i will be shopping locally at the world of music from now on and i suggest you do the same.
