Ive brought about 4 different projects here and these guys have done good work every time.
The guys here have always been very helpful and exceeded my expectations. With myself being relitvly new to the firearms, Parker and the crew have treated me with respect and shared insight in a way that never made me feel disrespected or belittled as other places have done. I give this place two thumbs up. Come check it out you wont be disappointed!
I reached out to Parker and he took great care of my rifle. Had an 11 degree crown milled and a new trigger installed. Work looks excellent! Got my rifle back ahead of schedule. The cost was under budget thanks to cash! I will definitely be back to Gunsmith at Large. Give Parker a call!
Went in to their brand new location to have a stubborn barrel nut removed off my noveske AR15 upper receiver (i was worried about damaging the upper) and have an Aero barrel nut put on for my brand new atlas r-one handguard. Not only were they able to get me in immediately, as it was a pain driving out there from Thornton and I had to go to work in about an hour, they were also able to get it done in around 30 minutes. Very professional employees and the price was reasonable. Plus they have a cute dog that hangs out in the lobby!
Excellent customer service! I was able to quickly have items serviced and returned same day. Top notch !
I had a polish and rebluing job performed on a revolver. I was very displeased with the result, as the outcome was quite possibly the worst refinishing Ive ever seen. The frame still had very clear pitting in it in numerous places across the revolver, which removing all pitting is step one of any refinishing job. As far as polishing is concerned, it looks very clearly like they had used a 100-grit wheel all over, leaving deep scratches everywhere, and they clearly did not polish it at all. Now for the actual rebluing, despite the uneveness from all the scratches, the bluing was fairly even across the gun, except for the barrel pin and area surrounding its hole, which was not blued at all and simply left in-the-white. When I picked it up, I was simply told that the bluing would not adhere to that location. I suspect the cause was grease or some similar surface contaminant, but any professional rebluing service should have been able to resolve this. I am quite appalled that any professional gunsmith would let this kind of work leave their shop, and be representative of their brand. I would certainly dissuade anyone from doing business with them in the future, at least for refinishing services.I will note that the action job that was performed on it was very nice work, however I actually never authorized them to perform that work, as I had told them before we started explicitly that I did not want it since it was more than I wanted to spend. All in all, very disappointed with my experience with this gunsmith.
Gunsmith at Large has now built or re-built me four rifles. The most recent is a blueprinted Remington 700 SS in 264 Win Mag with a fast-twist-rate Krieger barrel. Today I did the ladder procedure to develop a load for the rifle, using Reloder 26 powder, Federal GM 215M primers, and Bergers 156-grain EOL bullet. The sweet spot in the ladder put three rounds into 0.24 at 110 yards (even though each had a bit more powder behind it than the last!). My other rifles from Gunsmith at Large are similarly accurate. If you want an extremely accurate custom rifle, look no further.
This is a great shop, amazing customer service, Parker and his team are always very helpful. Go there, you won’t be disappointed!!
Approximately 2 years ago, I had GAL do the smithing on a 28 Nosler custom build. The fit and finish were incredible. That, however, is where everything stops. I paid close to $1k to do the work (Rem 700 action, Bartlein barrel, Manners stock). I handload for all of my custom hunting guns, and have for many years. Factory Nosler loads seemed to function decently. I loaded up some test loads which extracted very hard. I brought the gun back in and explained my handloads were not extracting from the chamber without force. They polished the chamber and fired a couple more factory loads. When I went to pick it up, I was told the factory loads functioned well and was told, I dont know what else to tell you. I was told there was nothing else that they could do! After $1k and the rifle does not function properly?! I contacted RCBS (who sent a new die) and conferred with a ballistics at Barnes Bullets reference load data. The handloads were lower, middle of the road in relation to powder charge, according to Barnes. (Their load data is very conservative) The gun did not show ANY signs of too much pressure. The gun has been to 2 former instructors from a local gunsmithing school (they now have their own businesses), as well as GA Precision in Missouri - NO ONE CAN FIGURE OUT WHAT IS WRONG! I have backed off on the load and even factory Nosler E-tips are sticking in the chamber, sometimes requiring a cleaning rod to force the spent case out of the chamber. Bolt timing has been checked, the chamber has been cast and repolished. Unless someone can figure this mess out, the gun may be junk ($5k invested so far) and I will have to rebuild another action and barrel. I have had 2 other customs built with similar components BY OTHER GUNSMITHS that work flawlessly and shoot sub half inch. I will never have these guys do any work on any of my guns.
These guys are great. Very knowledgeable, reasonably priced, and got me knocked out very quickly. I will definitely be going back in the future. Highly recommend 👌 👍
I recently had an issue where I was refurbishing an old rifle for my nephew. I bit off more than I could chew when I disassembled the trigger assembly to clean it... needless to say I took the bag of parts here. They tried and couldn’t get the puzzle back together but instead replaced it with a new trigger from a similar model. On top of that, they even helped me with the refit after the new trigger pinched on the guard. Thank you for helping me make my nephews birthday rifle possible. Nice folks, fun doggo, great shop. 10/10 would recommend to anyone.
They work very quickly and are very knowledgeable. He knew all about the particular product I wanted installed and did an amazing job. Very decent prices also, I definitely trust these folks and will head back in the future for all my gunsmith needs
Fast and ProfessionalJeff did a terrific job of rebarreling a Ruger rifle and replacing the trigger on my Smith M@P within one day. I think the efficient and quality work that customers notice are what allows them to charge such reasonable prices. I highly recommend their shop and will exclusively use their services in the future..
Look elsewhere if you’re looking for stock repair. I paid $200 and waited 6 weeks for an epoxy job that I’m not sure is gonna last and was not very thorough. Also left deep tool marks on a front bead post.
Outstanding, honest and quick service. If you are one of those people who has been told by other local gun shops, ranges or retail big box places that claim to do gunsmithing but who wont even talk to you, are unwilling to take any new orders or want to ship your gun away for at least a month when you have something that needs a 15 minute fix, Gunsmith At Large will take good care of you with same day or quicker service. Thank You!!!!!!
Super place for all your gun inquiries & services. Very knowledgeable & friendly.
The guys over at Gunsmith At Large are great to work with. Walking in there, you dont get a commercialized feeling, but rather one where theyre actually there to help you.I choose to do business with people who are obviously in business because they love what they do, and thats exactly what they are.
Parker and Jeff are highly skilled gunsmiths and they treat every gun as if it is their own. I will be going here from now on for all my gunsmithing needs. Highly recommend.
These guys are awesome! I needed to remove the Commiefornia nonsense from my M4 and they got it done while I waited. They said, If the paperwork takes longer than the repair we prefer to skip the paperwork. Lol. I was in and out in under 20 minutes.
Great welcoming place, just needed some new grip bushings on my 1911 and they got it done quick. Very knowlegable and friendly staff! Would highly recommend!
Parker with Gunsmith At Large has done work for me a couple times over now with guns that came from a certain unnamed manufacturer with various defects. Their work is absolutely top notch, and their customer service skills are excellent. Theyve even gone to bat for me in contacting the original manufacturer regarding these defects and trying to rectify the situation. I would highly recommend them to anyone and will happily send them more work in the future.
These guys are really knowledgeable and very professional. I highly recommend them.
Parker is a super nice guy! Unfortunately, I’m going to pick up my Remington shotgun this Saturday and bring to another gunsmith that has the part.Originally was quoted a certain time period. Went past that. Lack of communication.
Ordered an upper online, came with a nut not threaded and could not figure out the size. They were very busy, but Parker fixed it in 10 minutes! I will return for any future gunsmith needs - they also offer cerakoting for a great price so I will be return for that. Thank you very much!
Awesome service. I was in by accident because I saw a small sign while driving on Santa Fe. I needed the scope rails to be re-adjusted on a new rifle in order to be able to mount a scope. They re-adjusted the rails for me but also leveled and sighted everything. Thank you!
Excellent Service! Go to Parker for your gunsmithing needs!
I had brought a Smith & Wesson M2.0 9mm to a different local gunsmith to have an Apex trigger kit put in. The other gunsmith could not do the job correctly and also installed my sights incorrectly.I walked into Gunsmith at Large the next day and they fixed my pistol in about 15 minutes, for free. These guys are awesome, would recommend in a heartbeat. Very happy with the work and the uncommonly good customer service.
Parker was so helpful! So happy to have found this place, this will be my forever go to spot for any gun repairs from now on!! Thanks guys!
The owner, Parker, was super professional and timely in getting work done on my pistol. Would recommend to anybody that needs gunsmith work done!
The guy is very polite. Knows what hes doing and offers a discount for first responders and military. Clean shop. Took my M1A in and he took his time explaining the components of the rifle. We disassembled it and talked briefly. Even told me some interesting facts and history of the rifle. Good shop. Highly recommend.
Great people! Super friendly, very professional, and they do great work. Would highly recommend.
These guys are awesome, I walked in with an issue and they took care of me very quickly with results I was pleased with!
Spoke with Parker on the phone to ask about repairing a broken ejector on my Rem 870. After speaking to a couple other gunsmiths that couldnt fix this, I dropped my gun off the next day as Gunsmiths at Large were happy and able to repair it. Spoke with Jeff when dropping it off, great guy and this will be my go to local gunsmith for any gun needs. Great little local shop.
Everyone was super helpful and knowledgeable. I had a malfunction with my gun a few days before I was leaving for a hunt and they stayed long and put in extra hours just to make sure I had it back in time for the hunt. 10/10 would recommend
Parker just Cerakoted a rifle for me. He was really easy to work with and had some great suggestions that made the finished project look awesome. His work was very professional and he had a quick turnaround. Will be bringing more projects his way for sure. I would recommend him highly.Great work!
Parker is one of the most knowledgeable gunsmiths around. He is super friendly and eager to help you out in any way he can. I love the shop. A lot of different things can be done on site instead of being sent away like most places.
Brought in a rifle for a simple crown job. Was told it would take 3 weeks. 4 weeks go by and I call and I am told mine is next. 3 more weeks go by and I hear nothing. I decide to go by the shop and pick it up and take it to another gunsmith. I walk in and my rifle is laying unattended on the front counter. Mind you they did not know I was coming. They tell me they havent started on it. No explanation why it was laying out. I have not had luck getting a decent gunsmith that can work on anything other than AR-15s and Glocks in the Denver area. All the good, experienced old timers have retired. I will continue to send my firearms out of state for quality and timely work.
Incompetance at its finest. Came to pick up a revolver that didnt function correctly and charged me a higher price than was quoted when i came back the second time around to pick it up.
Jeff is an excellent gunsmith and helped me out with my handgun and AR, complete with instruction. Prices are fair. Very professional. Will be back.
Great price and incredible service. They fixed my jamming shotgun in 24 hours making sure I didnt miss my hunt! I wont use anyone else.
Met Parker and Jeff when needing some work done on my hunting rifle! Extremely happy with their service, professionalism and willing to teach! I will definitely be using them for any future work!
Quick service and good people, hard to find these days.
Prompt, quality and a fair price.Great to deal with. Many thanks.
Great ammo prices, great workmanship, great store all around. 100% satisfied with all my transactions here. Keep up the amazing work!
Parkers a great dude. Definitely the type that will go above and beyond for his customers. Highly recommend
Stopped by to see if they could help me take a part off my rifle and they were more than happy to help me out on short notice as I walked in and didnt have an appointment or anything like that. Friendly group of guys there! My new go to gunsmith!
Using these guys for over a year now and have never done me wrong. Always helpful and always give an honest estimate. Very excellent cerakote work.
Quality gunsmith shop in Englewood, right next to the bike paths. The owner, Parker, is a friendly above and beyond kind of guy. Awesome work. Some firearms and a bunch of ammo for sale. Great addition to the neighborhood.
Good guys, came to them a couple months back to fix an issue with my Stevens 320 12 gauge. It shoots great and they charged me a fair price, I will certainly be back.
Very friendly and professional.
Look no further - Parker and Jeff run a great shop, professional, friendly, and do high quality work for a reasonable price.
Parker showed me how to properly field strip my glock and hooked me up with some great prices on bulk ammo. The shop is clean and offers so many services, many that he can complete same day. Im looking forward to going back and having some cerakote work done. If youre in need of a gunsmith, definitely stop by Gunsmith at Large and support a locally owned veteran business.
These guys are great. Some of the best customer service I have experienced anywhere in a really long time. I recently came here to have an Apex trigger installed. It took a quick thirty minutes and the price was more than fair. I had mentioned I was looking to upgrade my sights and they went ahead and ordered them specifically for me and beat the MSRP by $40! I had also brought up a handgun I have been trying to get my hands on for a while, they offered to order it directly for me and again, were willing to beat the MSRP by almost $50! I highly reccomend anyone looking for a good resource to check this place out.
Super friendly and knowledgeable staff. I will go back.
Did a transfer through the shop and just purchased from the shop. Made purchase about as simple as it should be. They charge a fair price for transfers unlike other shops that will gouge your like crazy. Veteran owned small business and proud supporter of shooting sports. As a retired Gunners Mate and Gunsmith I would be happy to recommend this shop to anyone for 98% of your gunsmithing needs. No bluing or parkerizing ability but thats to be expected with the EPA regulations. Excellent Cerakoteing services especially when given artists license to make an exceptional looking firearm. It might be a little more than CST, but you get your firearm back sooner rather than later. Highly recommend
Awesome experience order a gun and had it next dayparker did some sight work on a few guns wont be going to the conventional gun sotore any more his price beat everyone in town
Awesome service. Very friendly. Will be doing business there again.
