This was my brother and I’s first visit to a range and it did not disappoint! The facility is really nice and all of the guys working were super friendly and helpful as well. I’ll definitely be back soon.

We went for date night on a Saturday and had a great time. A small shop with great customer service. The team helped us with basic safety and choosing the right rental. You can easily show up with no experience and have a great time or come with all of your own guns and ammo. We’ll definitely be back.

Bought a groupon in November, used it today with no difficulty! The service at The Shootist was exemplary! My wife and I felt comfortable, were confident in the instructions given and knew who to turn to for help. We were worried that as beginners we might feel judged, but not at all. I would definitely recommend The Shootist!

What a nice change. I visited the Shootist 20 yrs ago and it was horrible. Today’s visit was the exact opposite. Place is clean and modern. Staff is very friendly and helpful. Prices are reasonable and specials abound. I will be back and look forward to making this my place for all my recreation shooting needs.

I highly recommend The Shootist Gun Range. I had never held a handgun and knew nothing about them. Jeremy, the general manager, gave me an individual lesson on the parts of a handgun, how to load and unload ammunition, how to stand, aim, and shoot, etc., etc. Then we went to the shooting range, where he gave me earplugs and headphones that made shooting very easy on the ear. I shot at targets from various distances, and Jeremy was totally patient and encouraging. I was so impressed!

I an got amazing day and experience. Staff guys were so kind and professional. They absolutely made my day, they took care of me and were so friendly . Very grateful to them. Best ever, i absolutely recommend to go there, youll have fun ! Thank you boys!!!! If there will be more than 5 stars i would give them 10 !!!!!

The place is awesome! They really pride themselves on customer service and actually take the time needed to explain things to you. My wife and I are visiting and havent been to a range in a while so we spoke to Paul who SUPER helpful and knowledgeable. He made sure we had what we needed and even helped us out on prices even though we used a Groupon which they had no problem with accepting. If I am EVER in Denver again we will DEFINITELY be coming back to this range. Thanks guys for an enjoyable experience, yall rock!!!!

Had never shot before, but these guys gave my sis and I all the guidance and information we needed to make the experience awesome. We got lectures on safety, posture, and handling the weapon. Great shooting range! Jeremy was awesome while training us how to properly shoot a few different guns. Frank and Paul were awesome on making sure we were accommodated while we were downstairs shooting. Am definitely going to be coming back!

The claim on their website “We are better, friendlier, cleaner” is more than accurate. The staff is knowledgeable, polite and whether you’re a novice shooter or an expert veteran they treat you the same. There are other area ranges and stores that will happily make you feel like an idiot if you’re not a part of their clique or don’t have the same knowledge of firearms.

This place is the place to go. Everything from staff to pricing is flawless. The staff is really knowledgeable and polite. They make you feel welcome unlike the other places where the staff makes you feel like youre inconveniencing them.Highly recommend, you will not be disappointed. Just as a side note. I thought they had double charged me, the next day when I called they had no problem fixing it but turns out I was not double charged but the manager was still willing to refund me without having my receipt. Ive came here for a long time and just really enjoy the down to earth feel as well as the welcoming atmosphere. Ive shot at other indoor ranges but always come back to The Shootist. The staff is knowledgeable and courteous (I see more women come here than an other range), gunsmith has done great work on 2 of my guns Ive brought in. The range is clean and the new system is easy to use.Even though its a 30 minute drive I just cant shoot anywhere else!

2nd times coming here, this time for my hubby birthday. This place has the best staff. As an African-American family with wrapped heads we have experienced poor service from many places but I am happy to say this is not one of those places. Range is the best and you can shoot anything but steel. Thank you especially to the bald guy at the front counter, quick and friendly service!!

Great shooting range. I have been to about all indoor shooting ranges in the greater Denver area. This is one of the best places to go. Went here with my lady for her first time shooting. Tried a different range nearby where we live, but she was intimidated and treated rudely there. Gave this range a shot and couldn’t be happier. They made her feel very comfortable, safe, and confident. From the people behind the counter to the gentleman working the range. They went out of their way to make us comfortable and informed. Amazing experience. I recommend going here even if it’s out of your way.

Drove down from the springs to come to this range. It was absolutely one of the best experiences from beginning to end. The wait is worth it, the staff is amazing and knowledgeable & super funny. If you are looking for a shooting range this is the one to go to!

Absolutely my favorite place to shoot a handgun indoors!This is a nice facility with an easy, family-owned vibe, similar to a greasy spoon diner. The staff is friendly and knowledgeable. If you have questions, just ask, as they usually let you roam around the store at leisure. Not often crowded, the range officer is good about allowing you to use a lane away from other guests, as the occupancy allows.This is not centennial gun club with rotating targets, range membership polo shirts, and dudes training in what appears to be a step-workout class. This is a shooting range with an experienced and knowledgeable range officer.The price is fair and since you dont have a time limit, you dont feel pressured to load mags as fast as you can. You can focus on target shooting and dialing-in technique and equipment - just what a range should be. Rentals are available and it seems like ammo for rentals is priced competitively. Just like most indoor ranges only brass jacketed ammo is allowed, but this is probably a good thing, since I prefer NOT to die in a fire in a basement - and it allows the range to maintain a competitive price.

This place is amazing! I took my mom and my sister for their birthday to shoot for the first time and we had the best time. Christian was incredibly friendly and knowledgeable and made our experience great. We will definitely be going back.

Went here for my first shooting experience along with my wife, also a newbie. Helpful, friendly staff showed us the ins and outs of handgun shooting with a brief crash course and we shot two different handguns (they have a great rental selection that includes revolvers and a few shotguns / rifles). Best of all, there were NO EXTRA FEES unlike most of the area competitors. We just paid for the range, rental, and ammunition. Overall a fantastic experience.

Took a concealed carry class with these guys and I have to say it was well worth the money. Not only was the class full of information, but the guys made it entertaining. I go shooting there pretty often and have to say its a top notch range with great employees. Thanks guys.

I go out of my way to come to this small shop. Never crowded, and I’m in and out. The large ranges have too much fluff. Guys are always friendly. Very affordable.

Great guys. I bought my first .357 at the Shootist over 10 years ago & its my favorite indoor range til this day. Staff is knowledgeable & pretty easy going. Ive taken many friends there to shoot & will recommend them to anyone. It would be nice if they were open 7 days a week though.

Great place to shoot, been coming here since 2014. They have a lot of nice upgrades now including new ventilation and new target systems. And you can bring rifles and shotgun now! Excellent staff as well, they have always been helpful and courteous, even when I come to shoot late at night (8pm)

Admittedly, I live very very close so its very convenient. But the range and staff have gotten much better since I used to one here 3-4 years ago. Everything is very clean, updated and well lit. Range safety has become much much more important than previously as well.My only suggestion is I would like to see rentals offered.

I went in today to try some first time shooting for my birthday and I was nervous going in but the staff was extremely helpful and very well knowledgeable. I was given a detailed overview of how to properly and safely handle a gun. Its a small place which I dont mind and loved the customer service. We can not wait to go back.

Fantastic place! We took a group of about 12 high school students to learn firearm safety, many of which never even held a gun before. They let us use a classroom to teach and then gave us several spots on the range and all the ammo we wanted... did I mention they charged us nothing?! They donated it for the sake of students learning firearms safety and becomming more comfortable around them. Fantastic place run by fantastic people.

Both me and my friend had never shot guns before and Frank was super helpful and took great care of us! Very safe, beginner friendly, and all around a great experience.

If you want to shoot at a range without an extensive list of rules this is your place. Most of the local ranges have several range masters breathing down your neck waiting to impart their infinite wisdom upon you. Here, you just pay your range fee and they leave you alone, go ahead and draw from your holster and shoot as rapidly as you like. Pretty much the only rules are brass cased ammo only and dont be an idiot. Obviously they are going to say something if you are muzzle sweeping people or constantly shooting the ceiling, other than that if you are handling yourself and your firearm in a safe manner the range is your oyster.

We will definitely be back, what a great group of guys. Friendly and ready to answer any questions we had. As a female I would tell the ladies this establishment and staff will make you feel comfortable and relaxed as you perfect your skill.

First time to this facility and what a great experience!! Walk in the front door with my wife and daughter and the employees at the front desk where so polite and respectful! They got our waver signed and sent us down stairs to the range, thats where we met Paul. This guy is so helpful, help my daughter with her form and let her use his own personal gun to try. Diffently will be back, thanks again Paul for your help.

Small indoor range, prices a very good especially if you are military. Selection of firearms are a little on the low side. Still they can order what you want. The lane i was one did experience difficulty moving a target downrange a few times though. Hopefully after their upgrade to be able to handle rifles they install new equipment in the range.

Love this place! Started going because it was close to work but kept going because its just a great place to shoot. Simple and no nonsense and everyone there is absolutely helpful and great to work with. Have recommended to several people from beginners to ex-military.

My first-time-shooter sister and I went shooting at the shootist and found it a great experience. Contrary to what I read in the comments, the staff was attentive, friendly and knowledgeable. We had a blast and when the time came to settle the bill I found it much cheaper than other ranges I had visited in Denver. It is true that they leave you to your own devices once youre at the lane but that just makes it a more easygoing experience for non novice shooters who know what theyre doing. All in all a great range and a great experience.

I stopped by this range for the first time yesterday and was promptly greeted by two genuinely nice guys. This place was clean and well organized and after a quick sign in, I was off to the range which is in the basement. The Range Safety Officer was equally as nice and helpful, asking if i needed any targets, and then directed me to my lane. I put a satisfying amount of jacketed lead down range, paid, and left. While on the range, I did not notice the issue mentioned by others regarding poor ventilation so Im assuming this was fixed. To the guy that was complaining about having to use their ammunition, this only applies if youre renting their guns. I wouldnt let you shoot my pistol with your ammunition either. How the hell would I know if youre shooting +P rounds and turning my pistol into an eventual hand grenade or not? You have no concept of liability if this is your gripe with this place. I will be back and Im certainly considering a membership.

Really starting to love this place. I go only to shoot and have been three times, now making it my regular twice a week spot. Every employee I have met there has been very helpful and polite. Im not sure how the range fees work, but I bring my .40 and spend about an hour going through 150-200 rounds and I pay $15.00. I bring my own ammo and targets, though I will ocassionaly buy some extras from them to help support a local business.

The whole staff is friendly and professional. They take the time to make sure every customer was taken care of properly and with efficiency even on one of their busier days. I drove 40 min and will continue to return to this shop for all of my needs. It is such a nice atmosphere from the very moment you walk in the door. I will be getting a membership with them ASAP!

Just up the block from my office; so I tend to try to make it here at least every other week. Been going here pretty much exclusively for 2 years. Range price is fantastic, staff has always been wonderful and accommodating and the newly updated range has been great. Place is a little small for a large rifle (only a 20yd range) but for me that just makes it more homely. Ventilation is great here; thats a huge deal for some of the indoor ranges Ive been to. Definitely on of the greater metro areas gems. The place also hosts a menagerie of awesome classes, and their membership prices are pretty competitive as well. Check em out!

I purchased my first firearm roughly 6 months ago and started going to The Shootist about the same time. The guys there are some of the most friendly, approachable, and knowledgeable people Ive ever met. I went to a few other ranges in the area to check them out and I keep coming back here. Theres no judgement towards newbies like myself, all they want is to teach and help you learn. Most, if not all, are either former military or SWAT so they really know their stuff but they never rub it in. I took a basic pistol course here with Rob and he was fantastic, took his time and I immediately saw an improvement in my shooting. As for shopping, they dont have the largest selection but their prices are very reasonable and if they dont have something they will either order it for you or will tell you another shop to get it at. What place will actually send you somewhere else to get a better deal?! They really have their customers best interest at heart.I honestly couldnt recommend this place more for both new shooters like myself or veterens of the craft who want like-minded people to talk to.

Place is pretty dirty. Shot a rental 9mm. and it shot pretty darned straight! Got a few of the cool zombie targets, which was fun. Overall, OK experience, but staff could make it a much better place. Staff was OK at best. Not nice, but not rude either. Kind of indifferent. They just seem to not care at all.

The services suck at here. The guy with a hat being rude and mean to me. Never ever came here again.Keep be racist to international student and calling the legally driver license is block ID. No worry none of us would came this place again.

This range had an extremely rude man running the counter with short light brown hair and a stocky build. He was truly on a power trip! I have never seen such a level of disrespect at a shooting range. He could have easily explained the rules with concealed carry license instruction without his level of establishing male dominance in the room. The prices are high also, just like his ego; I will not return nor recommend this place.

They recently renovated their range and its a great value compared to the other indoor ranges. The only improvement I would suggest is to do something about the ventilation. Otherwise, the staff was super friendly and they make sure youre safe while you have fun.

Came here awhile ago prob a year now. I just remember I was having troubles with my gun and a guy there helped me clean it. He didn’t have to do that but he did so yeah good people here.

The guys that work here are great and eager to help in any way they can. Very professional, lots of fun. The registration process was simple, fast, and sufficient. Ill definitely be visiting again in the future.

Visited after the renovation:The renovation was long needed and well done. The downside is that they only offer 20yards and it is a bit small, run down (a good attribute depending) and the noise can be a little loud inside.Otherwise its a little dirty gem that has character. Though it is a bit run-down (imo gives it an authentic look) it shouldnt detract the fact that the employees are professional, safe, personable and courteous. The customer service is great and havent had any issues otherwise (been here multiple times so Im unsure of the issues people comment here with the employees).With their warm greetings they do their best to accomodate newcomers and try to get you going so you can shoot as fast as they can. The range seems pretty busy now and they deserve it. The range is nice and their filtration system seems to do a good job (no lingering smell or smoke) despite the heavy traffic.A BIG plus for me is the fact they are one of, if not the only, the ranges that stay open late (huge since I tend to work late). Another is they are not super strict on the time duration. I dont think they impose a time limit unless its peak hoursStore doesnt have much by itself but they can order a lot of things for whatever you need.Definitely a place to visit if you are a gun enthusiast.

Hadn’t been here in about a year and am so glad I came back, the staff is so knowledgeable and helpful. We had a rifle jam and don’t have much rifle experience and the staff was more than helpful not only getting it unjammed but also explaining various reasons it may have jammed. We will be coming back here.

First time taking our son to shoot his first gun other ranges were super strict about us bringing our 10yr old son and or shooting our own AR15 but I found shootist online and we are SO GLAD WE WENT THERE it was an awesome place they made his first experience awesome we have been to other places and have never felt as at home at a range as we did at shootist!!!I truly believe if we would have went anywhere else my son would have been too nervous to shoot but Paul, Cory, and Micah were awesome they made us feel very welcome, made my son very comfortable about shooting and also gave us a lot of information about buying other firearms and also very friendly and professional. Would definitely recommend shootist to anyone wanting a comfortable and enjoyable experience shooting!!! We will definitely be back!!!!

Great range, it was well improved. Friendly service, I like their target system of where you can select of how many yards you can shoot to up to 20. No time limit which is also nice.

I dont understand the bad reviews on this place. It is a shooting range, plain and simple, and it is a good and reasonably priced range at that.I would say it is not the most pretty range in Colorado, but it is the least expensive range to go and plink at every once and a while. The ammo is well priced when considering other brass brands, and if you buy ammo there you get a discount off the lane as well.This is probably not the range I would go to if I am looking for instruction. But if you know what you are doing, want to pay a good price, and do not mind that it is not the prettiest place, then this place is for you.

Went to check the “great renovation” I heard on radio, drove 35 minutes, got to counter at 20:08 and was told they “take their last shooters at 8”.Then WHY are your hours 9 to 9?Thanks for NOTHING!WON’T BE GOING BACK!

Best range and staff in Colorado! Everyone who works at this facility is very knowledgeable and very friendly. Have gone many times with all different level of shooters, and everyone has had the same awesome experience as I have. Products are of high quality manufacturers and suppliers. Products are priced at a very reasonable price. Ive purchased two firearms from them in the past 6 months and have been very happy with both purchases. Again best shooting range in Colorado. Staff (Dagan, Jeff, Terry, Dillion, Eli) all stand up guys and very helpful and knowledgeable. Will remain a loyal customer and very excited for range update.

Bought my first pistol and took it shooting here. I wasnt very comfortable at first as I havent been shooting for years. The RO came out with me showed me proper stance and made sure I was safe with my weapon. Shot a couple times and he went back to watch others. I can say after shooting here I will definitely be back, I had a great experience.

Staff is great to all people! If you are current military or a veteran they will also take care of you. Great price and no time limit on range! If you are an experienced range goer they will not breath down your neck.
