My family and I have been coming to this Discount Tire location for years. We have always gone to them for new tires, new wheels, rotations, balances, etc. We’ve always found there work to be better quality and a lot more fairly priced than any of the dealerships.Today I woke up to a flat tire and threw on the spare and headed to Discount.They have set up a Covid protocol that allows you to give your cell number at the front door, and wait at your car and view the waitlist online to have an idea of how long it will be until someone comes out to help you. I was only waiting about two minutes when Osmar came out to help. He immediately noticed the screw in my flat tire and got me set up to have it repaired. He was incredibly nice and made the process easy and efficient for me because I was running late to work.I left my car there with them and headed to work in a friends car.The moment my car was finished and the tire was back on and balanced they sent me a text to let me know it was ready. Looking at the times from when I dropped my car off to the time that it was ready it took them exactly 1 hour to get my car in and out. I was incredibly impressed at the turn around time.And on top of that, I walked in without an appointment and found out that the repair was completely free.I came by just before they closed and picked up my car from Jonathan, who was also incredibly helpful and answered a few of my questions about the repair.I returned to my car to find the spare tire reinstalled in its proper place, with all of the tools, cover, and rug reinstalled neatly.The choice to bring in customers with free repair services is incredibly smart, but what really shines through is the excellent customer service and quality workmanship. By saving my tire instead of trying to sell me new ones that I don’t need they’ve definitely secured another customer for life.Thanks guys!

My Service Tire light came on in my car so I did some online research and came to the conclusion that the TPMS sensors had gone out in at least 1 wheel. I ended up buying the sensors online and bringing them to Discount Tire to have them put on. These guys did a turn key job for the bare minimum amount of money. 5 stars! Very professional, very courteous and helpful! Highly recommend this location!

Why Do You Make An Appointment? To save time. Made an appointment showed up early and was told it should be about a half hour before they could pull me into a bay.I then asked for another appointment for first thing in the morning, any morning you pick, and the response you may still wait for walkins that may have come to Discount Tire between 8 and 8:30. Note: the person stated the first appoint is always at 8:30.This is my first time to this Discount Tire. I have previously been a customer for the 11 years at the Point Loma store. For my wifes car a set of tires is $1,500 and for my truck a set a tires is $2,400 plus tax.Given the inability to schedule an appointment, no matter how far out from today, the appointment time will not be honored, I will most certainly not be returning to Discount Tire.

People were friendly and even though i didnt have an appointment it didnt take too long. They have a good selection of tires and helped me pick a good set. They look like they are taking covid precautions seriously.

Came here with screw in my tire. They took care of it quickly (20 mins with no appointment) at no charge. Excellent customer service. You can tell everyone is trained very well and the culture is to do right by the customer. They even told me the torque specs of the wheel lugs, clearly very attentive to details. Super impressed!

I was in and out 123 without an appointment. I needed my tires rotated and they also checked the tire pressure. I got quotes for two new front tires and trade ins on the rear tires. I must say its quite costly in comparison to other tire shops. So do your homework. Also I purchased there plan where if you get a flat tire, they fix it for free. If unable to be patched they give you a new tire. So thats totally worth it!!!

I love Discount. Love it. They really know how to put customer service first. I took a tire with a nail in it to them, unsure if the tires had been bought from them (it wasnt my car), and they took the nail out and patched the hole AT NO CHARGE with no questions asked. I love the tire check station they have out front where they check your pressure and fill up if needed... again, at no direct cost.And yes, Ive actually bought tires from them before. Their prices are very competitive and they get the job done fast and efficiently.I really cant think of anything to add that would be a negative. If you drive a car and need tires, definitely give this place a try.

You don’t normally feel comfortable at a place that will be working on your car, and to make matters worse, in the midst of a pandemic. Discount Tire Encinitas is a discount place only in name and price. I had a screw in my tire and wandered in and found friendly people, a very safe environment, and they did an excellent job. You don’t normally think of a tire place as an asset to the community, unless you’ve got something sharp sticking out your tire, but Discount Tire helped make a potentially difficult day into a very good day. Took the rental to Discount Tire, they couldn’t fix the tire because the screw was too close to the tire wall... so they replaced our tire for FREE & told us they wanted us to be able to enjoy our vacation. What amazing customer service - they just made our vacation! We are so grateful & 100% recommend visiting this location!

I am a mom with 2 little kids and I discovered a screw in my tire of my huge SUV and started freaking out so I came here to see if they could fix it for me. There was a 2.5 hour wait or I could make an appointment for 2 days later! With car seats in my car and no other option, I was in a panic! Thankfully the nicest guy, Will, was the one that helped me and he said he would do the work himself and fix it!! I couldn’t believe it. Within minutes he was taking my tire off and fixing it for me. This place has the best service ever and I could not have felt luckier to have Will help me today!! I can not recommend it enough. If you come make sure you ask for Will!!! He is the best!! Discount Tire is the best, here is what makes me say that. It was Saturday evening at 4:18, I had a nail in my tire and I really needed to purchase 4 new tires. I had called Evans and they quoted me a price but couldn’t get the size tire I need for 3 days. I really need it done Now. So I pulled into to discount tire in Encinitas, they had the tires I need in stock, I ask the young man what time they closed, he said 5:00, but we are here till we are done. I really liked his attitude especially when he beat Evens Tires by 28 dollars. He told me that my car will be ready at 6:30 and will send a text when it is ready. I received the text at 6:00 that I could come and get my car.That is what I will always do my business with Discount Tire.They are excellent in every way from price to a great attitude.Thanks Discount. Had just purchased four new tires from the Americas Tire in Chino Hills(same company, different name). Driving down to Encinitas in pouring rain, got a flat. They patched it for free, with great service! Highly recommended.

I had an appointment with guaranteed 1 hour in and out, but when I got there they said they cannot find my appointment and they made me wait two hour, instead of owning to their mistake and honoring their commitment.Correction, they made me wait two and a half hours! So disappointed on this place, will never come back.

Bought a new set of tires and had to leave for class before they could install them. I have the employee my spare key and asked if I could just pick it up in the evening after they closed and for him to just lock the car and leave the spare key under the driver floor mat and he said it was no problem. I come to pick my car up and the driver window is rolled down and the driver door is unlocked and the spare key is no where to be found. Thankfully nothing appears to be stolen but regardless its very careless and now I have to go back Monday when they open again and hopefully they have my spare key.

I would like for whoever manages this place to write a book. I dont know what kind of compensation system they have in place. But, everyone here is hustling and super friendly.I took a car here with a flat tire on a busy weekend. It was actually the fourth tire service place I went to (including another Discount Tire location). All of the other places had 3 hour or all day wait times to do the repair. I guess this is because there isnt a lot of margin in tire repairs. But, this place found a way to get me in there faster than their estimated time (they were busy also).They patched the tire (it had a screw stuck in it), checked all the tires, replaced the spare and put the spare away neatly. For... $0.00.

Great service, great prices, nice people. I never go anywhere else. I typically get an appointment, but my daughter hit a curb and destroyed two tires. I showed up at 8AM on Saturday and was out by 8:30AM with 4 reasonably priced tires. They are closed on Sunday so that their employees can be with their families. They could make more money by being open on Sundays, but they dont.

You know what Im going to have to give this place 4 out of 5 just because of the wait. I did arrive there 3 and left around 6.But not to mention Ian did tell me it would be a 3 hour wait. Although I would never wait 3 hours anywhere else it was worth it everyone was extremely nice and helpful. I do recommend coming here when not busy.

Miss quoted mount and balance for my own tires by $60. After doing all the paperwork and taking the tires out of my vehicle there was no point in trying to find somebody else. Make sure you get the name of the person quoting you the price.

By making an appointment it saved me at least 2 hours of waiting. Jason at Discount Tire was incredible. No unnecessary chit-chat, he took my keys and said your car will be ready within the hour and it was ready in 30 minutes when they were telling other people the wait was 3 to 4 hours. From now on I will always make an appointment and my new tires are amazing. I forgot what a difference it makes to have good tires and the correct pressure. I would never consider going anywhere other than Discount Tire in Encinitas!

Buying tires at discount tire was very easy and pleasant. When I dropped my car off for its appointment I was quoted 45 minutes. I had already picked up my car when it was finished and was halfway home before the 45 minute timer went off. The employees gave good information and were easy to work with.

I knew I had one front tire that had not worn well, and visited Discount Tires to replace it. The Service person who waited on my walked out to look at my tires, and pointed out a screw in one of my rear tires. He showed me my options, and it made sense to replace all four tires ( I want to do some exploring of the West coast this summer.) It took around half an hour to install the new tires. Great service and they made me happy.

My review is based on customer service, the price was right but when I arrived the guy behind the counter tells me to come up then tells me hang on Im going to get someone and then leaves, 3 more guys walk up who i assumed were supposed to help me, they were busy talking to each other then 2 guys call the people behind me up and the guy who I thought was there for me gets on the phone and is ignoring me so I say hey....I was waiting to be helped, they were helping the people behind me... the guy acts annoyed and says thats why we have the sign that says wait here I said well the guy who called me up here told me he was going to get someone and to wait here!! he reluctantly starts helping me but is looking and talking to his co-workers instead of engaging with me... ( he seems really annoyed)he tells me theres lots of people ahead and Ill be waiting a while plus they close in an hour... which is a bummer since I work near by and I called earlier and they told me it would be no problem to come at 5 I would have come at lunch if it was a problem . he walks to my car with me, gets the tire.... doesnt say anything so I stay by my car, then I see him back at the counter looking for me.... but he never said meet me inside. I come in and again hes acting really annoyed with me... Im assuming all of this was because I notified them that I was waiting to be helped earlier. the whole experience was lame like I was being punished for coming at 5pm and also for speaking up that I was the first in line when they started helping people behind me. very unorganized.

They were so friendly when I called and verified that they had the tire I needed in stock. When I arrived they were prompt and professional and my car was ready to go again in about an hour.

Best price of all the local tire sellers. Professional and competent from start to finish. Jason answered all my questions on the phone and ordered the tires I wanted for my Prius. On Friday at noon, he told me he could order them and theyd be in the next day before noon. Saturday at 10am he called to tell me that theyd arrived and I could bring my car in at 12:30, and they should be installed in under an hour. I did, the they were done in under 45 minutes. I would be happy to but tires there again.

I have been seeing them since they have been in Encintas...20 years!!!!! The best prices, quick rotations, quick flat tire repair. They have always been fast when you have an appointment. One time in 20 years there was a tire that was defective, they took care of it immediately.

After bouncing back between Costco and Discount Tire for several years, Ive recently decided to get all my tires at Discount Tire. The one advantage that they have over Costco for me is convenience. It is very close to my place of employment, so I can show up early in the morning in the middle of the week, and my car will have its tires rotated and balanced in no time.Discount Tire will fix tires punctured by screws, nails, and the like, so long as the damage is not done to the side wall. They do it for free, even if you didnt purchase the tires from them. They will also rotate your tires for free.

If I could leave no stars... And ONLY stopped by this company because it was the ONLY option at the time.I stopped by the Discount Tire in Encinitas this afternoon with a flat. An “expert” in tires came out and with a look at the tire decided it was ruined and needed to be replaced. After explaining it was a rental and that it made no sense replacing it he said good luck... I ended up calling AAA and got to the rental where they themselves took it to a competitor of these cats where they proceeded to fix the tire.[ By the way, I drove from Encinitas to Mission Valley with a bad flat, stopping along the way 3X to put air on that tire so that it would literally come off...!!! This put my safety and that of the drivers around me in jeopardy because of the negligence of a second rate company/employee. ]I could have just gone with my day as my time is extremely valuable but this is not the first time this company has tried to use pressure tactics to sell their product. The last time I was there I intended to buy a pair of tires that were advertised with a discount. The salesman advised they were out of that particular tire but could install another comparable brand but without the discount. As I thanked him and proceeded to walk out, he walked out with me and said: “If I happened to have those tires you want, would you buy them?”I laughed in his face and walked away. It was then that I discovered Costco Tire Center. These outfit is truly fantastic — and the customer service is second to none. The membership is worth the money just for the tire center alone. True story: I walk in with a badly damaged tire. They don’t have it but could order it and install it in two days. However, because of the damage, a Costco Tire Associate (not a manager mind you) decided to purchase the tire at *retail* cost somewhere in town at a higher cost than their actual purchase price — thereby incurring a loss...! What...?In my personal experience, Discount Tire Co., is a second rate outfit that does not put the customer’s interests (or that of his/her safety) first. If you are considering Discount, try Costco — you will get a better overall deal and a support second to none in the consumer sector; certainly in the tire space...

I found myself at Discount Tire in Encinitas with a dog, a cat, and a toddler. The gentleman that helped us (wish I remembered his name) was so nice and helped me get everyone inside. He even gave the chihuahua a bowl of water and a milkbone as large as his head 😆. They patched up my flat tire (which someone elsewhere had told me was irreparable and I needed to buy a new one) and put air in the others as needed and I was on my way no charge! Thank you for making my difficult situation as painless as possible!

I didn’t appreciate the service they have given me. I came in the one day with a flat tire. They adviced me that I repair it, but it will take up to 2 hours. I didn’t mind waiting 2 hours, because they were busy. 2 hours came and my car was still not taken care of. After 5 hours my kar was done, after telling me it would only take two hours. They promised a repair that would last the same as the life of my tire, but it didn’t, it lasted two weeks. To make it worse, they didn’t put the one nut of the tire on right, it was skew. I would never go back there again, worst service ever!

I have purchased all my tires for multiple vehicles at the Encinitas store for the past 20 years, and have been very happy with their services in the past.Today I awoke to a flat tire and took it to the store. I was told that I had a leaky valvestem and was told that the would not be able to fix the tire since it was 15 years old.John advised me to replace all four tires and offered me 4 tires without the certificates for $286 out the door.Since I am planning on selling the Jeep I didnt want to spend much money and ask him if he could do it for $250.He recommended that I talk to the assistant manager Lan since he would be able to give me a better deal.Lan acted like a total jerk towards me, and told me that he could do two tires at that price and not four.When I imformed him of the previous offer from his colleague he told me that would not honor it.Therefore I drove the Jeep with the flat tire across the street to Evans tires.The manager at Evans tires was very accommodating and offered me four similar tires with road hazard certificates for $300 out the door.Shame on you Lan for mis treating a loyal customer.Moving forward I will take my business to Evans tires.

If you denounce and scorn unethical business practices, know that Discount Tire of 2242 Palm Ave. is guilty of such conduct. On the 12th of January, I took time away from work and my very busy schedule to have one of my tires patched (I explained my time constraint to the technician, MY VULNERABILITY, and later Discount Tire would try to take advantage of that and the PERCEPTION that I was made of money).The evening prior, I had plugged a hole that was well inside the repairable area of the tire (a run flat) and the tire held its air just fine. I was one of the first customers the next day, and after explaining what the problem was (and after they inspected the tire themselves) I was told that the repair would take about 45 minutes to an hour. They dismounted my tire, pulled the plug that I had inserted and then gave me the sad news (in a pseudo consoling manner) that they could not repair my tire because I did not insert the plug through the entire channel of the original puncture.My question is **DID THEY NOT KNOW THAT THERE WAS A HIGH PROBABILITY OF THAT?** COULD THEY NOT EXPLAIN THIS TO ME BEFORE THEY PULLED THEY PLUG? Their solution was that I should buy a new tire from them for $484 (I later found the exact tire online for $210). Discount Tire then refused to return my tire to its original state, and even to put air in it if I replugged it myself. A one hour repair and time away from work and my busy schedule turned in to a four (4) hour ordeal all because Discount Tire assumed that because I drove a BMW 650i and that Im a Service Member (I was in my uniform), Im either rolling in money or stupid or both. They even offered to extend me credit to buy the tire (which offended me a great deal).After waiting on roadside assistance for what seemed like forever, I decided to limp my run flat about one mile on the other side of Palm Ave. to Magic Tire Shop. They dismounted the tire and inspected the sidewall (it was good), patched and plugged the hole in about 20 minutes and I was allowed to observe the entire process (THEY GET FIVE STARS LIKE ALL THEIR OTHER REVIEWS). A professional and courteous little mom and pop spot. It only cost me $20. I later called BF Goodrich (my tire manufacturer) and they said I should be good to go but they cannot guarantee the W rating of the tire (speeds up to 168 MPH). After I drive to Vegas and back in the coming weeks, I plan to have the tire dismounted and reinspected at Magic Tire Shop to make sure all is fine.My final question is **WHAT MAKES DISCOUNT TIRE SPECIAL** Their prices are ridiculous, their customer service is poor and above all else, THEY ARE DISHONEST. What makes them special is that they lure victims and prey in with their promise of free tire repairs and... THEY ARE PREDATORS. There is no such thing as a free lunch.I almost forgot a few details. I kept my decorum throughout the entire ordeal, never once raising my voice or using profanities, except for my facial expression and refusing to be RIPPED OFF. They however, thought it fit to reinstall my tire with an old valve stem (loose on the inside) like a bad surgeon to a patient (who knows what sort of damage that could have caused (had i decided to replug my tire and have roadside assistance air me up).
