This is one of those rare auto parts store where the staff are knowledgeable and very friendly. It seems that is becoming more and more rare. I shop here regularly, placing online orders for in-store pickup. The staff actually called me recently when an order I placed didnt have sufficient stock in the store, but managed to get the products the next day. I certainly didnt expect to receive a call, but I would have wasted a trip otherwise. Great people here.
This is definitely bone of the best advanced auto locations Ive visited. The staff were friendly, helpful, and even installed my wiper blades for me without me having to ask for help.
Advanced auto 21042 saved the day again. Nigel Mitchell and staff are knowledge and have amazing customer service. The shop is located conveniently off of RT40, online shopping and in store experience have been easy. Rear brakes and rotors were a fraction of the price compared to Suburu Catonsville and the customer service is incomparable. Bought a battery from them in 2017 and just now replaced. I am confident on the recommendations and guidance from Nigel and all of the AA staff. Could not recommend enough. Good job. Thank you!!!
So originally I would have rated this store at a minus 5 stars. I went in Jaunary 1 2021 for a battery replacement on my laser key fob. Adnan, customer service representative, replaced the battery and broke my key fob leaving it inoperable. He was rude and mechanically unknowlegable. I contacted the manager Brad who was less than helpful to say the least and seemed to out right lie about speaking to me and the information relayed to him by Tyler the assistant manager at the time. Tyler the assistant manager at the time was extremely helpful but he was releved of his duties and moved to another location. Brad was no longer there either after a few months and I was ultimately left in limbo. He seemed like they were have a turnover in staff frequently. Finally, I spoke with Nigel Mitchell, Assistant Manager, in mid July. He was extremely helpful and responsive and assured me I would no longer be ignored in regards to my claim and be reimbursed for the cost of a new key fob along with the reprogramming and replacing it at my car dealer.I only write good reviews when the outcome is great and the service is plausable. Thank you Nigel for professionally overseeing my claim and expediting the prolonged issue. After speaking with Nigel Mitchell the situation was rectified and resolved without seeking 3rd party intervention. I jow give 5 stars because of Nigel. All the best in future managerial endeavours Nigel.

I recently went to advanced for a battery install. I was nervous as my husband is usually the one that takes care of these things, but the service was excellent. Devin took care of everything and made sure I was out in a timely manner as I was in a bit of a rush. I would recommend going here and asking for him!

Yeah, I think theyve been alright here. Better than some auto parts stores Ive been in, not as good as others. Been able to pick up a battery and spark plugs on a couple of visits, so those were successes. Its an auto parts store; theres not much more to say.
Wonderful customer service. I’ve gotten batteries from there for years and they do a wonderful job installing them the gentleman I worked with tonight was very informative about the types of batteries they have and he was very careful when changing my battery. He also was very good about cleaning up rust and removing dust and things from around the battery and the terminals. I will be going back to them for years to come.
Prices are very responsible. Customer Service representatives was very knowledgeable and informative and he did not rush us at all.
Went to get windshield wipers and unfortunately no one helped me and all the men were taken first. Asked for help repeatedly and was still blown off meanwhile there were at least 6 staff members in the staff most of which were just standing around. Will bring a man with me next time to get some service if that’s what it takes
This advance auto parts store is located at a very convenient shopping center. You can get it by route 40 West. Sale assistants are very nice, and knowledgeable, they will help you find the right parts for your vehicle. Also you can online order, and pick up in the store, they fill your order pretty quick.
Was sold wrong replacement bulbs.Went to trade for the correct one after 10 minutes for Matt clicking around he said he would not take the return and despite having the bulb in hand he couldn’t find the replacement.More evidence to just go to Napa in the future.

Today I visited the Advanced Auto in Ellicott City to have a Battery checked out. The Technician (Randy) was fantastic. He was servicing 3 cars in parallel and was not only efficient but extremely pleasant. He even went the extra mile after testing and replacing my battery to have me test all my lights and turn signals. Shout out & Kudos to Randy !!!

Friendly, knowledgeable clerk greeted me upon entering, figured out what wiper blades I needed, rang me up, installed new blades in the parking lot and had me back on the road in under five minutes. I was pretty happy until I got home and discovered that amazon sells exact product for half the price.....so was friendly service and free installation worth the extra $30....I suggest you decide in advance. :/

I went today to pick up an order and to recycle used oil (NOTE: this is during COVID-19). I also asked if they could run a check engine light diagnosis. They wouldnt because of COVID. I asked if they could rent a tool - they said they temporary canceled loan-a-tool program (I called Autozone and they still do it). One employee was wearing the mask on his chin. Another employee who gave me my online order did not wear a mask at all. It took about 3-4min to pick up the order and I was asked to sign the receipt (during COVID? do I really need to touch a pen that everyone else is touching???)

I bought a “guaranteed to fit” headlight replacement for my 2006 Town and Country. Except the headlight harness was wrong. The bolts to connect it not long enough. What should have taken 10 minutes took half a day chasing down parts to make my “guaranteed to fit” replacement actually fit. Oh. Bonus. The online stock for the additional parts I needed were out of date, meaning that they said they were in stock, but actually they weren’t. Four stores later I finally had all the parts needed to fulfill their guarantee. Sorry you’ve had a bad experience - can I offer you a discount next time? This entire business is the worst I have experienced in 60 years. Hope they fail miserably and go out of business.
The pandemic is an inconvenience to them, or at least that’s the way they act. Terrible service, lack of professionalism, the workers talk in the back or on the floor instead of supporting customers, and there is little to no compliance to COVID-19 best practices in the store. They setup the store to look like they comply, but in practice they don’t at all.
Decent place to get parts some stuff is very cheap and generic but you can tell by the quality, But over all a reliable place to get parts
I was able to order a part that was out of stock in the store over the phone and I was able to pick it up a few hours later. Great service. Fast quick and easy.
My battery died twice on me in one day and it was time for a new one. The tech (DAndre, I think) was incredibly friendly and efficient. Had my battery replaced in no time and I was back on the road again.
Advance Auto parts will never get another penny of my business. I purchased a glow plug relay in VA to get one of my trucks back to MD and this morning the relay was already bad. I took it up to the Advance here in Ellicott City to replace/return the defective item. I was told they did not have one and could not refund the money. However I could either wait for one to be ordered tomorrow or I could drive to Columbia and pick one up there. Advance Auto parts is a thief and from now on it will either be Napa or the dealership. At least they stand behind their products. Just for those skeptics, I run a personal fleet or 4 Ford diesels and maintain a fleet of 12 other trucks. I know what good parts are and how long a glow plug relay should last!

Adnan deserves a 5 Star. He was patient with customers before me and very helpful and patient during my transaction. Had a few issues and resolved no problem. Customers were complaining behind me about needing more staff, but two people handled it just fine.

Although I was grateful for the discount for the 4th of July, I showed up at this location after needing a jump start due to a dead battery (it was 7 years old) which I knew was coming. The gentleman who helped me was very fast an efficient however I felt that his demeanor and comments were rude. He told me take better care of your car. This was out of line in my opinion as a dead battery has nothing to do with the care of my vehicle. I will not use this location in the future.

Went in for a simple battery swap bc I was waiting for someone and figured it was a simple enough job for them to do while they have the tools out and ready. Very very bad technical skills, broke several bolts, stripped the holes on the cars frame, then did more damage trying to “fix” the damage. Employees jokingly talked about how they “totalled the car” (1999 corolla). Very poor service from employees and manager, had no tools ready, and even had one employee driving to their house nearby to grab tools to try find a solution to strap the battery down. Ended up spending 4+ hours there for a quick 10 minute job. Do not go to Advanced Auto even for the simplest tasks, just do it yourself or take it to a proffesional. I will never be shopping there again, and making sure no one i know goes there.
Lucky for me the service person was very nice. He showed me the prices from the computer of the different items I wanted. We went over what i currently have to what i needed. I felt as if they were more than fsir with the prices and with explaining alot of things to me. As i was ready to make my purchases I called my mechanic and verified wvwryeverything. Would havw had five stars but paeking sucked.

My job was delayed due to their incompetence and bad customer service so when I called to go back and pick up another item. The manager was reluctant to stay open 4 minutes longer for me to pick up what I needed given it was their fault to begin with. I got their at 9:04PM and the manager saw me knock on the door and he just avoided me. Long time business owner and customer of advance and I will never give them another dollar. Go to Napa! Better service and they actually know a thing or two.

OMG... I had to go to AA because my battery on my car was corroded as H#!! but we wont get into that... So I had to get a jump to get there and once I received assistance from the Assistant Manager he provided me with a print out of what was wrong with the battery once the car was on and then off. The only thing that I wish I was able to change is to have my car fixed right then and there. Unfortunately, I had to go get a new battery and then we were off to the races !!!! Weeeeeeeeeeeeeelllll, not exactly... I then began to experience the car turning off on me while I was driving and that scared the bedeevies (yes I know its not a word :-0 ) But now we know that it has something to do with the starter. Oh well, thats my 2.5cents on that... Have a supaphantabulisitik day

Just went to have a battery replaced in my 2011 Toyota Rav4 and was told they couldn’t do it. They said the computer was telling them it would take longer than 1/2 hour so they can’t do it.My wife has a 2009 RAV4 and I just had it at the same location July 30, 2017 (1 year ago) and I had mine there 3 years and 9 months ago and both times it took 15-20 minutes max.So, the money being saved by having one less person on staff each shift is being more than lost on the loss of battery sales alone.Plus, I’m sure a lot of turned away customers, like myself, will be taking their business to other auto places from now on for all Auto needs.I actually went right across the street to Juffy Lube and they were able to replace my battery in less than 15 minutes. I bought a battery for $10 more at Jiffy Lube, but it has a 5 year warranty instead of the 3 year warranty that I was going to buy at Advances Auto.Seemed like a B.S. story I was told by Drew at the Ellicott City location because he didn’t want to do the replacement. But, if it was true, then a stupid decision by Advances Auto Management.

This is my store that I would shop any car I need, But this guy (staff) is rude I told him what I need at first and then he let me repeat everything again and said Im sorry I didnt hear what you told me. I was like surprise, I said let me know if I need to louder my voice, he look at me with an angry face......I wouldnt recommend this store again.

I went there twice.for my Hyundai Elantra. First my engine lights were on,they have no clue with their automatic issue finder what the problem is.Next time i go to change my car battery and they i tell everything from my car model, they charge my card then when they try to install the guy is like..oh we dont do installatin for Elantra. I would hvae remove lot of things which my mgmt dont allow..what a waste of time and energy.

Bought a battery about 7 month ago at this store, and found that the batter vent cap missing this morning. The battery has 3 year warranty, but the store manager said that missing battery vent cap is not under warranty, and the only thing I can do is to buy a new battery
