I was mid trip and I had a critical problem with my RV. I ended up having to get towed and my tow truck driver recommended KMS, and Im sure glad that he did. The morning after I was dropped off at the KMS location I was informed that they were super backed up and that they would not be able to work on my rig for some time. I called around and the other local operation was in the same situation, so I left my vehicle with them. The estimate at that time was that theyd be able to diagnose my stuff in a couple weeks. I was given an estimate of the work perhaps 2-3 days after the time they gave. A couple of days after that I got the notice that my RV was ready to go, I went and picked it up the following workday. Totally happy with everything. Would certainly recommend them to anyone. If I was in the same situation with my knowledge now, Id do exactly the same thing .. except maybe call the tow truck earlier.

Awesome place! My wife and I had an emergency fix we needed and they were kind enough to squeeze us in and fix our car that next morning. Bob was very kind and did an excellent job while keeping us informed every step of the way so that we were not blindsided by an expensive fix. I wholeheartedly recommend them!

5 Stars for Jessica at Karraker Mechanical Solutions. I was passing thru town on a Saturday when the check engine light came on. Saturday is not a good day for this type of thing to happen since mechanics tend to be closed on weekends. I called Karraker because they were listed as by appointment on Saturdays and I was desperate. When she answered, I was told what I expected to hear we are booked for the day…but she did not leave me hanging. Just the opposite. She stayed on the phone and gave me enough info to troubleshoot the issue on my own. It was enough to get us on our way. So many mechanics would happily brush off strangers and mutter were busy. sorry. This shows what kind of place this with an exclamation mark. Thank you Jessica.

I have always had a great experience taking my BMW to Karraker Mechanical Solutions. They are quick to diagnose, provide affordable repair quotes, and never try to sell me on work that I do not need for my car. Which is greatly appreciated and something that has happened a lot at other shops I have gone to previously. I highly recommend KMS to locals for routine maintenance and individuals traveling through that need emergency repair.

Got a tow to their shop after breaking down outside of Ellensburg. They got me in on the same day and back on the road!

Our 40ft gooseneck was there for a few days. Truck kept saying trailer connected, trailer disconnected. Meaning the trailer brakes would work and not work. This cost over $2550 in repairs and the problem was still not fixed. The lady that would answer the phone sometimes is rude, unprofessional, and should not be working in that type of environment. They did not have a resolution in fixing the problem and still charged our company for the repairs. I do not recommend this shop for any repairs.Another shop found the real issue and fixed it. This is what they found and replaced.The right front brakes magnet had wore to the coils.Complete backing plate and drum replaced. (Karraker replaced the left front axle, not even the correct axle).Wasted alot of money and time on this repair. The shop that corrected it was 1/3 of Karrakers bill and fixed it the first time. The parts that were taken off were reusable as we were told they were not by Karraker.If the job could not be completed correctly they should have not taken the job. Controlling Karen in the office should not be there as she did not help things for our driver, equipment, and other vehicles on the road. The safety of others on the road were comprised by a shop that cannot fix things. I dont know how this shop is in business.

The epic Saga continues! We were doing a Jeep off-road trip across the State when we had broken 4x4 linkage cable and a snapped leaf spring on my off-road trailer. KMS had us back on the road that same day. We made it back to the trail only to have another very critical problem. The trailer receiver completely tore off making it un-towable. We were able to “MacGyver” a temporary solution with chains and recovery strap and limp back to the nearest camp. We had no cell phone service, dropped the trailer and drove to a peak where we had cell coverage. Jessica from KMS was able to coordinate recovery effort where they drove from Ellensburg to our location 30+ miles into the back country on Forest service roads. Mike was then able to improvise a towing solution, tow the trailer back to the shop where he fabricated and welded a new receiver, stronger than the original trailer and get us back on our trip. I cannot stress the kindness and willingness of these two business owners! Their slogan of “come as a costumer and leave as a friend “ does not ring hollow! My wife, boys and I are grateful for them for saving us and our trip!

Could not be happier with my experience here. We were just passing through town in our sprinter van when we lost power. Stopped by here in the morning for help. They were very friendly and helpful and as we were just passing through they went out of their way to get us going again. After some diagnostics they found the problem quickly and fixed it in just under two hours!This is a family run place, the owner communicated with us throughout the process and made us feel very good, very friendly and prices seems to be very fair as well. Highly recommended!

Since I am an opposite to what youd call a motor head, Jessica and Mike helped me identify problems with my vehicle, came up with solutions and had my car running back to normal before I even had finished my coffee! Top notch shop! We had a dose of I-90 stress when a botched oil filter install from a quick lube shop lead to a Sunday afternoon break down and tow into Ellensburg. KMS took us in for emergency service on their off day, ran a full diagnostic, corrected the bad lube job, and gave us peace of mind we had avoided major engine damage. These guys are awesome! I had previously taken my truck into another local shop for repairs. My $2500 lesson there was a warranty doesnt mean much when your stranded on the side of the with your child 100 miles from home, and its only as good as the company standing behind it. Karraker has been great and was able to quickly diagnose the repairs from the other mechanic and fix them correctly. Car repairs and maintenance are inevitable. With these guys Ive seen the work is quality, they have been HONEST,and good people to do business with.

These guys are awesome. My wife and I broke down on I90, over 200 miles from home. It was the day after Thanksgiving, and nearly every other place was closed. Karraker got us in their shop on short notice, diagnosed the problem quickly, got parts delivered immediately, and got us back on the highway in well under two hours. Today I had the pleasure of working with these guys. My daughter attends college and is working as an EMT over in Ellensburg/Yakima and her car was giving her trouble. Her brother was trying to help trouble shoot from the western side of the state as historically we don’t trust too many mechanics we don’t know - had some pretty poor experiences over the years. We found KMS on the CWU parent page and they came highly recommended and I have to say they gained some new customers today. Not only did they get her in right away over the lunch hour, but they got her car squared away before the end of their work day! Their process transparent and everything was communicated throughout. They even included me in the texts and included photos with arrows so we could see what the tech had found. He even took care of a few other things at no charge! I am so thankful my daughter now has a place she feels comfortable going to on her own now.

After an accident in our other hauling truck, needed to have a B&W gooseneck hitch installed ASAP for a trip hauling horses. KMS was kind enough to order and install everything I needed to get me back on the road PLUS order new Nexen tires on our 2011 GMC 3500. Shop was super easy to work with, received updates via text and could get the estimate directly to my phone to approve! After getting back from the haul today, received a text from the shop asking me how it all went and to make sure everything was just how I wanted it! It was better than I thought it would be and I got much better gas mileage in the diesel GMC with the new Nexen tires than I had with my regular hauler, my Dodge 3500 with tires I’d purchased elsewhere. I will continue to bring all of our vehicles to KMS and trust them to make sure that my horses are pulled by a truck that is in the best working condition possible.

Mike is a great person and an excellent mechanic. He fit us in while we were in town for vacation. Our AC went out and it was 100° outside. My daughter was headed over to Seattle from eastern Washington when, just outside Ellensburg, her check engine light started flashing....not good. I got Mike on the phone just as they were closing, and he graciously agreed to wait and run a diagnostic on her car. He was very courteous and knowledgeable, as was Jessica, and they called me back to tell me it was nothing serious. They fixed the problem pronto and got my daughter back on the road in no time. Theyre very nice, have great prices, never try to rip me off or over charge me for anything. They only address the problem you ask them to and they dont lost several other things that are wrong with the vehicle like chain shops do to try to get your money. Definitly the best shop Ive been to yet!

Mike and Jessica are fantastic! Mike was honest and very competent in diagnosing an electrical problem that was misdiagnosed by another shop. They saved me hundreds and even went out of their way squeeze me in and pick up my car from other shop. All of this done from 1,000 miles away over the phone. A few weeks ago my boyfriend and I got stranded when our car started acting up real bad. Thankfully this shop was near by and they saw us immediately. They even drove us to a nearby coffee shop while we waited to see what was going on, which was super sweet. The owners were really helpful and kind. Amazing owners! Motor home broke down on way to Spokane on I-90.. and looked up closest shop and they popped up. Called one place and they had a 2-3 wk waiting list.. being on a trip we couldnt wait that long. Called here and they were willing to get us in after closing hours.. just a couple hrs later we are up and continuing our trip.. good to know there was another place besides the one and willing to get us on our way as soon as possible! We were on our way camping when the car suddenly had a problem and had to back into Ellensburg, the nearest city to us. We were so lucky KMS was still open past hours and willing to help us. They figured out the problem right away, and while the mechanic worked on the car the owner kept us entertained. She was really great with our young daughter who was starting to get a little squirrelly.They diagnosed the issue right away and even took care of some other problems. Im really grateful for finding Mike and Jessica. My car was shifting every few seconds with the check engine light going on. Thinking it was the transmission, I took my car to three different mechanics in downtown Ellensburg and all three told me I need a new transmission. Knowing this is an expensive repair, I looked around one more time and found KMS that had a few strong reviews. After Mike diagnosed my car, he told me it was just a valve. That was 2.5 years ago and my car (including the transmission) is running just fine. If you live in Ellensburg or driving thru and need an excellent mechanic with top-notch customer service, go see Mike and Jessica!

My cars engine light turned on. I went in with Mike and Jessica at Karraker and got news that it would be more than a grand to fix out of pocket. They went out of their way to look up warranties on my car and it turned out it was covered. They truly care about their customers, and they saved me a huge expense.

Phenomenal service and genuine care for their customers. Helped us find the cheapest prices for parts and although timeline was a little longer than quoted they definitely went above and beyond for us.

Karraker Mechanical Solutions is by far the best mechanic in Ellensburg. After having a lot of recent work on my car from some shady mechanics, I took my car here, and Jessica did everything she possibly could to save me some money. I had taken my car to a different mechanic in Ellensburg who did the timing belt, and after spending 600 bucks at the other shop I found out that only half the job was done. Jessica was an absolute pleasure to work with, and Mike was amazing at diagnosing my car. After spending 5 minutes with my car, Mike told me exactly what was wrong, and recommended I take it back to the other shop to save me money. I instead decided to have the work done at Karraker, and I am very glad I did. I left feeling like my car was fixed correctly, although it then ran into problems that other shops have caused, that Karraker is working on fighting for me. I absolutely feel after every interaction that my car is being taken care of properly, and being fixed the right way without corners being cut. They truly care about all their customers and work hard to make sure everyone is taken care of. I will never go to another mechanic here in Ellensburg after finding these guys. Slow but thorough and you pay for it

As a local in Ellensburg for a few years while I attend CWU, I am SO happy I found these mechanics! They were fast, efficient, and it was very obvious they knew what they were doing. Ill be going to the them first next time when I have car troubles.

We were on our way to Seattle when our truck took a turn for the worst. After calling a couple other mechanics in the area who didnt want to help us, I found Karraker and they took us right away diagnosed and fixed the problem in a matter minutes and got us back on the road. Its hard to find good honest mechanics. These guys are one of them.

Mike and Jessica, owners, give 5 star service. They even delivered our SUV to Puyallup (2 hours away!) because they had run over schedule by a single day. They were even willing to come in on a Sunday just because that was the only day we could drive back to Ellensburg to get our car. I never make reviews, just read them, but they deserve a shout out.
