My son knocked over my Gibson Songwriter guitar a few years ago and split the headstock in half. I thought it was toast and after taking a year to calm down, I decided to see if it was fixable. Called up the store and was told he can definitely fix it and to bring it in. He had the guitar for a month and when I picked it up you couldn’t even tell it had been damaged. The repair was amazing and way less money than I thought it would be based on the cost of the guitar. I definitely recommend. Great work at a great price.

He did replace my American Fender Frets but also replaced my GOOD 5 way selector switch for one that didn’t work. I did not have any problems with my previous 5 way selector switch. I don’t know why he even decided to do this!He also took forever to return my guitar and was irritated when I asked him for a receipt!Be AWARE!!!

Took in a mustang body and neck for Barry to fit and adjust for me and he did exceptional work on it. The neck was a little small in the pocket and he placed precise shims so the neck was solid and fit like a glove. Hes also really personable and likes to share stories.

Barry is 100% genuine! Went in for a fractured neck by the headstock. His work is meticulous and it shows with experience hes picked up over the years. Hes awesome at giving tips on guitar care. I greatly appreciate him and his work as well as the stories on how he learned his luthier skills and craft! Great guy! Highly recommend!

Barry is capable of doing complex repairs with amazing outcome. He is a true luthier while I am a guitar tech. I wouldn’t attempt the repairs he can do - and knowing there is someone with the skill, experience and equipment to do it justifies taking it to him.

Really good, came in to fix a bridge on a guitar and he fixed it up real good. Overall really good person with reasonable prices. Highly recommend to go see him first before anything. He charged me 60 for the repair while guitar center would charge me over $300!!

Barry is amazing! The quality and care his team puts in to repairing and preserving guitars is beyond reproach! I’ve taken three guitars to him over the years and each time the results were beyond any expectation. I found Barry first when I was turned away from the local big-box guitar store because they didn’t have the skill or capability to bring my WW2-era Gibson acoustic back to life while preserving it’s character. I was bounced from a few others on recommendations for the level of skill required to Barry and he did not disappoint. He also repaired a crack & binding split on a newer painted finish Dean acoustic and also helped bring a family heirloom 79’ Gibson Hummingbird back to life after years of neglect.I highly recommend Frets & Necks for any guitar work!

Barry Martin did another fantastic job on my sons Electric guitar today, changed out the strings and adjusted the action after asking to see my son play. Advised my son to be lighter in his playing. He is a true expert on any stringed musical instrument, plus he is a genuinely nice and caring man. Love to hear him talk about donating his time to play at various churches around town. He is always very reasonable in his prices, Only wanted to charge $12 for the cost of the strings. He has been taking care of our guitars for over 20 years and we will never go anywhere but to him. He is an artist in his profession.

This place is amazing. One of the last luthiers in the region and probably the only one in El Paso. Theyve been doing it for a very long time and I trust absolutely nobody with my guitars or mandolins except for him. Anything from new Frets to building you a custom guitar can be done here. I have been using frets and necks guitar specialty since the opening of the business. The owner/proprietor, Barry Martin is a true luthier, not someone who puts on a smock and thinks they can work on a stringed instrument. I have had numerous instrument repairs and restorations done there and I have always left there an extremely satisfied customer. Mr. Martin has always been there to help, and be honest with me. I recently took an old guitar to him that had major damage on it. After evaluating the damage, he told me he could repair it, but because it was an inexpensive and easily replaceable guitar, I decided to make it a decoration. Its honesty like that, that sets him and his business apart from the others. His work is second to none, and he is the only luthier in town that I trust enough to allow him to work on my guitars and basses.

I wish i could post a before and after picture of the AMAZING JOB Barry did on my Les Paul Standard Electric Guitar... Recently my guitar fell off a stand my fault and the Headstock completely broke off!! 😭Well Barry did what he does best and i dont know how but he fixed it to where you would never know it was ever dismembered, AND, it plays even better with the way he set the action. WOW!was all i could say.This guy is a pro and i definately recommend his skill. Thanks Barry
